Happy New Year

I'm taking a walk..........it was too foggy at the beach to walk yesterday afternoon. Feeling a little restless this morning. We did have quite a nice night.

"Today is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it."

I'm trying. 2009..........many changes, many worries, many dreams, many goals, many days to work it all out.

HAPPY NEW YEAR, Z. I hope you enjoyed your walk. I take a walk with my dog Sweety every day. It does help clear the cobwebs, doesn't it? :)

Happy New Year.

Z, what a beautiful picture. So serene, the beginning of a new day and a new year. A time for hope and promise.

Just got back...it was perfect...dolphins (am going to put the picture on now!) and great clean sea air for the lungs!

I wish you could ALL have come with me!

"Today is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it."

What a wonderful passage! Perhaps we need to focus on that more than we do the shenanigans of Beltway politics, which is at best frustrating ... and causes us to fret, rather than rejoice. The day the Lord has made contains so much beauty, such as the vast ocean and the soothing sounds as waves rush to shore. It can't get any better than that, Z.

Bravo!

As usual, great picture Z.

In fact you inspired me. Stop by later and I'll show you a beach from Michigan

Chuck..I will, thanks!

Mustang, I felt that SO strongly as I walked in the water...it was cold and invigorating....little birds running to burrow there beaks in the sand to get something to eat as soon as the tide went out..dolphins, huge pelicans dive bombing the water for lunch, surfers, families making sandcastles.....
it felt SO GOOD...so full of God somehow........it all just 'works', you know?

it's all SO not an accident.. NO WAY. the waves, the sun....perfection.

That Psalm is the one I recite in my head every day. Every day. Most importantly when I don't feel like it. Works every time. I used to recite it every morning as I drove my son to school. (He's not a morning person!)

MESSAGE TO EVERY MEMBER OF CONGRESS:

When counting the electoral votes, either Congress finds by 1/8/09 that Obama, not being an Article II “natural born citizen”, fails to qualify as President whereupon Biden becomes the full fledged President under 3 USC 19 (free to pick his own VP such as Hillary) or thereafter defers to the Supreme Court to enjoin Obama’s inauguration with Biden becoming only Acting President under the 20th Amendment until a new President is duly determined.

The preferable choice, at least for the Democrats, should seem obvious.

nice picture, z, i can't wait to be back there. although i think it's a bit cooler at my place at the moment :)

many changes in 2009, but change is not always - or even normally - bad. embrace the change as you do the day the lord has made! it may not all be good change, but we will survive it!

happy new year!

Heidianne....absolutely!
I'm all about staying up and focused and positive....

And, no..it's not warm at the beach, the water was COLD! It's in the fifties, and fog's starting to come in again.......glad I got those few hours in the sun!

Worries will always be there, but joy is something that you have to work for.

Happy New Year Z

Happy New Year, Z! Your thoughts always so closely mirror my own! I have never been able to discern whether the New Year's Eve celebrations were created more to mourn the passing of a past year or to celebrate the induction of a new one. I suppose it is the age old question about whether a glass is half full or half empty. Perspective is the key.

The description of your "day" so eloquently creates a vision for me of events that have passed and a future that is woefully uncertain. But, we do indeed have "many days to work it all out." Because, despite the deepest fog - the beauty of the beach remains - and your walk will always have a purpose. Many Blessings to you and yours for 2009!

That is one of the most beautiful beach scenes I've ever been privileged to enjoy.

Take comfort in this thought:

The sea is always changing. It never stays still for an instant, and hasn't once since it came into existence. And yet the sound of the sea is the most soothing, restful sound on earth.

May 2009 be one of the best years any of us has ever experienced.

Indeed happiness and joy are two very different things. Joy is regardless of circumstances.

A joyous New Year to you and Mr. Z.

Elbro...they say He's more interested in our holiness than our happiness, huh!?

Yes, JOY is so much more!

Thanks, Sparky..same to you!
