Healthcare........I'm hearing the people sing, are YOU?

Unlike half the political pundits in Washington, Gov. Mitt Romney read the decision correctly and said,
"Let's make clear that we understand what the Court did and did not do. What the Court did today was say that Obamacare does not violate the Constitution. What they did not do was say that Obamacare is good law or that it's good policy."
Amen to that.
HERE is an excellent article which enhances my point, I think........."FIGHT THEM"

Asinine dipshit "constitutionalists" who will wail about their dying grannies if you badmouth Medicare junkies?

Hallucinatory Glennbeckistanis that attended Tea Party "events" and actually believe they saw right-wingers there?

Who will lead this fight? Michelle "Jimmy Carter in '76" Bachmann?

Please. "Conservative" is just another fancy word for Stalinist.

I am far from thrilled with having Mitt Romney as the GOP candidate.

That said, Romney has this one correct.

November 2012 is the ultimate referendum.

As I said in my brief post today, "Vote accordingly."

Romney, in my opinion, was too milquetoast. This is the biggest rallying point in his campaign, and he MUST follow through with repealing this rape of the American people if elected!

Obamacare was passed by anti-American socialists, who bullied some moderate democrats into voting with them.
Obama has already proven himself to be an inept, inexperienced, incompetent, anti-American, socialistic, Muslim-leaning, ex-lawyer dufus.

Our Supreme Court should be slapping down the idiotic legislation passed by clueless democrats and signed by an equally clueless inept President Obama.
The court is made of cowards, afraid of doing what they swore to uphold.
And there is corruption in government because the so called Progressive American people have allowed it!
I did something that I had never done before in my life, I donated $25.00 ( that was just about all I am able to afford) to Mitt Romney’s campaign. Today alone donations to Mitt Romney’s campaign have exceeded over 3 million. How much did Zipo raise today?
And by the way, didn’t the President lie once again this time to his OWN party and to Independents and Republicans and Libertarians when he said the Mandate wasn't a tax. Obama lies, again!
The economy is going to plummet as will the Stock Market, and jobless rates will skyrocket.. The American people overwhelming oppose Obamacare. And now more than ever before it is time for the American people to wise up and take our government back from this socialist with a Muslim name who hates his own country!
Lets hope that Mitt Romney is wise enough to see this as a gift, and use it to energize our base!
It is up to us folks to keep this alive in the next four months before the election.
You know damn well that the Democrats will do everything in their power to dredge up all kinds of scandals, and other issues to deflect our attention, it doesn’t even matter if they are true or not,--they may even come up with another Congressman Weiner if that's what it takes to refocus the media and they can't find something juicy enough on Romney. I don't trust them as far as I cant throw them.

You will not find the word tax on any of the over 2000 pages of the Affordable Care Act. What Roberts did is judicial activism pure and simple. He betryed the constitution and the American people. The Founders designed a system of checks and balances for a reason.

Always On Watch said...

Let us understand some of what ObamaCare requires, unless, of course, one chooses to pay the tax instead of ponying up for health insurance....

Those "cheap" health insurance policies" mandated by ObamaCare presently run at least $250/month and have the following requirements here in the state of Virginia (I did the research in 2010 when I was looking for an affordable plan for Mr. AOW):

1. One has to be without ANY health insurance for at least a full 6 months before applying. One cannot just drop the policy that one already has and sign on!

2. These policies have a minimum of $2500 deductible right off the top, with a sliding scale thereafter -- usually 70-30 or 80-20. Sometimes there is an out-of-pocket maximum, and sometimes there is not.

3. There policies have no prescription coverage.

Ducky's here said...

AOW, you sound as if you expected "for profit" health insurance to wither away.

Nope. Pay up.

What really gets me laughing is the fools who think this is a move towards socialism.
That's an idea on par with calling Obummer a Muslim.

Brooke, he has to be. And at least he got the point across in the quote I posted.
I was SO glad he stayed calm and said the facts ...

Ivan...they say the WH knew they couldn't upset the AMerican people by calling it a tax, so Obama was vehement is wasn't....until they sent their thug lawyers in.
You see, the left doesn't care who disagrees with them because they feel they're ALWAYS the ones which are right. SO, it's all very Machiavellian at this WH.

i just watched CNN and the news reader is withering about the health care bill...it's SO wonderful and "this summer we're going to hear more silliness about death panels..." She rolled her eyes...as if death panels isn't exactly what's already being implemented in my own friends' lives. The point Palin had made with that phrase which is becoming more a reality by the minute was "panels will say how you get treated" which the poor CNN news reader hasn't studied enough to know that's exactly true.

And now we see Liberalmann in action suggesting he knows better who deserves to be saved; the left in action and he's too silly to even understand how that sounds...
He won't like the term DEATH PANEL but HE'LL decide "who deserves it".
My GOD>
Lives are ALWAYS SAVED IN AMERICA>
LESS lives will now because they'll be too infirm to be saved, it'll be too expensive (finally FINALLY IRONICALLY in this horrible way, Obama will do SOME cost/benefit studies!?)...

AOW...it's horrible and the American people aren't hearing these things. Drop insurance for SIX MONTHS? My god.

Lisa said...

I have an idea Arizona should tell the president they are going to help them enforce the new penalties for the health care bill by making sure all the "immigrants" pay in. Lets' see how fast he sues them by saying that's unconstitutional.

Z said...

Lisa, good point. After all, it's only WE in the Middle Class who will be paying through the nose.
Hopefully, he can borrow more from China to pay for this monster (bad joke, I know, but...)

What the Republicans have to do is stop saying they'll REVOKE or TOTALLY REPEAL the LAW....they have to use another term because, today, it appears the media's using that as if THEY WILL DO NOTHING ABOUT HEALTHCARE. And they've done plenty in the past the media ignored or Obama used in his plan to HIS acclaim, like portable healthcare...

Not good.

What yesterday confirmed is that we have a new monarchy disguised as democratic.

They all belong to the same circles despite the D and the R in front of their name. Bush named Roberts and Roberts's decision is the one of a big time statist.

The monarchs will keep printing money using the Fed, help their lobby friends and big corporations by passing regulations and compelling us to buy products and services using the tax system.

It's back to a feudal system where the peasants had to pay taxes to use the mill.

Thank god the peasants can keep their gun in this country.

Yup. The left makes theories based on wishful thinking.

In France where the public healthcare is decent quality wise it saves less lives than in the US. (Cancer treatment success rates.)

Or the doctors telling my mom she'd have to deal with her lung problems her whole life without looking too much into it. (A French doctor making less and less money, why would he do his job the best he can after so many years of studying?)

Good grief! I never said any such thing!

But the fact is that ObamaCare may well contribute to the withering away.

I'll have some data along the lines of the withering in an extensive post on July 9. I've been working most of the day on that post.

Anonymous said...

AOW..."along the lines of the withering"...against Roberts?
I'm hoping to be persuaded he did the right thing...in SOME way, SOMEHOW. There are fairly compelling pieces suggesting that, but not enough.
I just can't imagine he did what some pundits are saying; 'he didn't want the court to be known as ideological after Bush/Gore' was the most stupid.
If the SCOTUS cares about anything BUT the constitution, then what?

And if TAXES were the grease that kept this stinking machine of a healthcare fiasco running, then did he really REWRITE the suit to favor the win for Obama, or did their arguing TAXES force him to go their way just because they used that word. I have to admit I cringed when one of his comments was quoting B Franklin "death and taxes"...that was childish and scary, in my opinion...on Roberts' part.

Even Democrats are saying Obama absolutely misled purposefully in saying IT'S NOT A TAX...even Dems. That is SO horrible...and SO TYPICAL of this administration.

I'll be very eager to see what you write.xx

Z,
I am not too bummed at the decision per se. I don't agree with it and I hate that the taxing power of congress was expanded. But the commerce clause was restricted and that's good. I think Romney has a chance here to put BO into the uncomfortable place of arguing both the economy and health care. Two places he doesn't want to go. His class warfare argument looks a little hollow now.

Allow me a historical reference. During the Lincoln-Douglas debates, Lincoln pinned Douglas into a corner at Freeport in a question about the expansion of slavery into the western territories. Douglas was the father of popular sovereignty in the Compromise of 1850 and the Kansas-Nebraska Act of 1854. In his answer Douglas stated the people possess the power to stop the expansion of slavery by exercising their sovereignty and voting it out.

This became known as the Freeport Doctrine. It helped Douglas win the Illinois senate race in 1858, but it forever severed him from any Republican votes in the north. We all know Lincoln won the presidency in 1860. Douglas was right then about popular sovereignty and he's right now. The people possess the power of the vote.

This is the Freeport Doctrine moment for those of us opposed to Obamacare. Let's hope that Romney seizes this moment and pounds BO mercilessly on these issues.

Anonymous said...

Law and Order, I honestly wish you'd send information and advice to the Romney folks; I'm not sure they're advising him in the best ways when they SEIZE on every little word of Obama's and have him POUND it into the ground; that even turns ME off :-) Etc etc

Question re your excellent info above: WHY WOULD THE FREEPORT DOCTRINE SEVER HIM FROM REPUBLICANS IN THE NORTH WHEN THEY WERE SO AGAINST SLAVERY?

And let's hope that Lincoln coming in instead is a GREAT precursor of the next election, right? We THINK things look dismal now, but... ?

This ruling is even more convoluted then the law itself. What a classic example of double speak. What happened to the intent of Congress? Congress intended this to be a penalty not a tax as proven by the number of speeches given by the President and the Democratic hierarchy on down. ObamaCare would never have passed if the penalty was called a tax. How can the Chief Justice, as one person, change the intent of Congress. The American people have been screwed. This decision cleary points out that ratification of Supreme Court Justices and other Federal judges should be taken more seriously. He now has done his part to give Gov. Romney all he needs to win in November; a po'd bunch of Republicans & an incumbent who has just deceptively pushed through one of the largest tax hikes in recent history. Now it's up to us voters to finish this.

Anonymous said...

Ian, don't look now but most of us ARE Republicans, are against this TAX (as we are most taxes), against what Roberts did, and are delighted that Gov Romney "has all he needs to win in November"...I was I was as optimistic as you are.

Z,
The Radical Republicans in the congress were adamantly against the expansion of slavery into western territories. They considered popular sovereignty a cop-out.

Douglas had no hope of getting votes in the north from Republicans who were in large part, abolitionists and he lost the 1860 election to Lincoln.

Lincoln gave Romney a blueprint for how to use an issue to win an election. I hope he is student of history.

The Obama administration on Friday threatened to veto a defense appropriations bill in part because it does not include higher health care fees for members of the military.

“The Administration is disappointed that the Congress did not incorporate the requested TRICARE fee initiatives into either the appropriation or authorization legislation,” the White House wrote in an official policy statement expressing opposition to the bill, which the House approved in May.

President Obama’s most recent budget proposal includes billions of dollars in higher fees for members of TRICARE, the military health care system, and is part of the administration’s plan to cut nearly $500 billion from the Pentagon’s budget."

During a recent briefing, a Republican congressional aide revealed that the administration said the increases were aimed at trying to reduce the number of people receiving Tricare benefits and to switch to other health plans. “They did tell us that part of the savings comes from beneficiaries using their healthcare benefits less because of higher fees,” said the aide. “Raising fees in Tricare may incentivize the retirees to use a different health care provider.”
