JUAN, two, three.......how many Juans ARE THERE?

Juan Hernandez, popular slimey mouth piece for the Mexican government joined McCain's campaign in November of 2007 with no fanfare, no loud public announcement. Did many of you hear about it? Hernandez is frequently on television, rather handsome in a Smith Brothers lozenges way, with a satanic kind of smug smile, telling America we have to suck it up and accept the wonderful illegals without whom we won't have anyone to do our work. According to this Vicente Fox pal, we are supposed to be 'grateful' that his people from Mexico even come here to do our work. Of course, in television interviews, he forgets the part about our needing to feel grateful for their forcing much needed hospitals not far from me to close because they can't stay open under the financial load of treating illegals for free. He's apparently forgotten, too, how our schools have gone to seed because our teachers are teaching English to kids instead of the subject.

And this guy is on McCain's CAMPAIGN!? WHY? So he can convince illegals to vote for Juan McCain? Am I missing something here?

Ya, my SANITY. oy.

ADDENDUM FRIDAY MORNING: John McCain spoke to LA RAZA. He's using "WE" for them and him.. "THEY" are you and me, those who are against the racist agenda of this group which champions things I'm hoping McCain doesn't quite understand. Maybe living on the Left Coast gives me a slightly better insight into the group because we hear about them and fear them so much here.

MORE FOR FRIDAY MORNING: FOX's headline this morning:

McCAIN HAS THE ENDORSEMENTS
ROMNEY HAS THE CASH

Now, there's an endorsement for Romney, huh? "The RICH GUY ONLY HAS CASH" As if. As if he has nothing to say. As if we don't know the endorsements aren't strong-arm RNC directives? TED OLSEN, a hero of yours truly, a huge Giuliani supporter last week, has endorsed McCain.

McCain will be president. I can only hope he goes further Right after the election. We can't change character, but we can hope to change agenda.

By the way....McCAIN CONSIDERED THE VP SLOT WITH JOHN KERRY A FEW YEARS BACK...because "we've been good friends, so I'd consider it." THIS is what we have to fight. But, it's this same "good old boys club" which is pushing John McCain so hard. He knows how to play both sides.....if it doesn't always seem to be on America's side, as Romney does, I guess we have to go with the flow or CHANGE THINGS. But HOW?

Hey, hey, hey...
McCain's campaign was asked about this last week, and they said he is NOT on the campaign team. He is a supporter, sure. But he is not part of the campaign team from what the campaign told Fox News last week. So, have you actually varified that he is part of the campaign, or are you working off of the rumor that has been circulated because he has decided to support McCain?
Romney is ON THE ATTACK man...this is gonna get ugly.
The Keating Five is being brought up...what's that over twenty years old? AND, remarkably it was that experience and what it taught McCain given the response of the constiuents to 'business as usual' in congress when they find out what goes on was that Americans wanted it 'cleaned up.' No matter what you think of the flaws of McCain/Feingold, and I agree with them, it was born of his attempt to 'change things' to make it more acceptable for the American people, and less suseptible to corruption. Okay, he didn't succeed. BUT, it is evidence to his commitment to change things when he HEARS from the populace. That's precisely WHY I believe him on the immigration issue and on spending: when he says, "I heard you" ...it is not just words. He does listen, and he does try to do something.
okay, rant over. I'm still too mad at Ann to be rational.

ANN is a hyperbolic! She says anything to get heard if she thinks her point's important enough. And I think it is!

Whether or not Hernandez is ON the campaign team or a supporter makes absolutely no matter to me, Pati! Have you ever seen him interviewed? ANYBODY Hernandez could want, I'd be against. His agenda is so transparent.

I just added something to my piece on this about La Raza....all of this has to be known.

FOX's headlines this morning are:

MC CAIN HAS THE ENDORSEMENTS
ROMNEY HAS THE CASH

Is that true? Yes. Does it influence voters from Romney because he's "just another RICH guy"? Yes, of course it does. Exquistely subtle and effective.

Ted Olsen has come out "for" McCain after being a Giuliani fan. I adore Ted Olsen: he's a very close friend of a friend of mine and I will hear from her WHY he's endorsing him.

The RNC WANTS McCAIN, Pati. THAT's what so many of us are afraid of and disgusted with. THEY and the media have spoken AND chosen. My friend on the Giuliani campaign confirmed for me that the other candidates "dislike" Romney, they are jealous of his money, the kind of life he's lead, his successes, etc.

This is about GET RID OF HIM. I'm not sure he's disliked as much as he's feared. He's an independent guy who has a dream for this country I agree with. He's not walking lockstep with the RNC leaders.

McCain will be president. Be careful what you want, Republicans....be careful about why he'll be president. The sad thing?

I have to say VOTE FOR MCCAIN in November.

I don't have to, and literally can't, say it for Tuesday. That's all. That's where I differ with you.

"Why They Hate Mitt"

By Amy D. Goldstein

January 23, 2008

Have you noticed how all of the Republican candidates can barely conceal their contempt for Governor Mitt Romney? It goes way beyond the typical good-natured competition that usually is the hallmark of Republican contests. Senator McCain has snarled at Governor Romney in debates and Gov. Huckabee has tried to paint Romney as cold and uncaring, while Sen. Fred Thompson attacked Governor Romney right out of the box. This display of hatred usually is the hallmark of the Democrats.

So, why do the other candidates hate Mitt Romney? Several reasons:

* 1. He can win. Governor Romney appeals to economic conservatives and could appeal to foreign policy conservatives based upon his understanding of the issues. Most non-partisan foreign policy wonks who have briefed the major candidates tell me that Romney "gets it" better than any other candidate -- even better than those who have held high profile office for decades. Moreover, he is the candidate that the Democrats most fear.

* 2. Jealousy -- from his hair to his appearance to his family to his money - these are all reasons for deep-seated, if unseemly, jealousy. This green-eyed monster makes its appearance in almost every speech or presentation, in the form of a joke, a jab or a veiled reference.

* 3. He isn't beholden to interest groups. Governor Romney's wealth frees him from any influence that interest groups could apply to others - especially those who lack funds or who are Washington insiders. He doesn't need them, and that scares the interest groups and their allies. He is not of the game and wants to change it - and his personal wealth allows him to do so. He really can change Washington.

* 4. His brains - not only is he one of the smartest people ever to seek the presidency (having earned a Harvard MBA and JD si multaneously)< WBR>, but he understands the complexities of the issues that America faces and is able to devise workable solutions. Just look at his proposal for an economic stimulus and compare it to what the other candidates are proposing. Romney clearly can lead this country through economic challenges.

* 5. His wealth -- again. While he has raised more than any other candidate, Governor Romney doesn't need to raise the money in order to continue. Nevertheless, he understands that successful candidates must have people invested in their candidacy in order to succeed. He has learned the lessons of past wealthy businessmen who make vanity runs for the White House. The other candidates have to constantly raise money in order to continue their campaigns.

* 6. His experience. The rest of the Republican field has been in politics in one form or another for most of their adult lives. Governor Romney came to public service after having a successful c areer in which he directly created jobs, saved jobs, invested in new companies and turned around failed businesses. He even fixed both the Olympics and the failing state of Massachusetts. More than any other candidate, Governor Romney's experience is most directly applicable to the average American's situation.

* 7. He believes that America's best days are ahead of it, and not a memory. Governor Romney is a man of the future, not of the past. He sees America as a beacon of freedom for the entire world, and not a country limping toward its last days. His infectious optimism is informed by his business experience, his love of country and his family values. His can-do spirit is the antidote to defeatism masked as "straight talk" or "reality."

* 8. His beliefs. When all else fails, Governor Romney's opponents attack his religion in the hopes of sowing fear and loathing. Not only is this unseemly, but it is danger ous. We have seen this type of rhetoric before - in the 1920's and 1930's - from the likes of Henry Ford and Father Caughlin and others who sought to disenfranchise whole segments of the American population. Governor Romney believes in the common American faith of democracy and religious freedom, as he so eloquently stated in his speech "Faith in America." These are the values our Founding Fathers codified in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution.

Why do the Republican candidates hate him? Because they don't have any answers to his challenges. They seek to undermine him by using personal attacks more worthy of a middle school playground than a presidential contest. This is politics and Washington as usual, and choosing any candidate that employs these tactics will only get us more of the same. One would hope that Americans could see beyond these base attacks and choose the candidate who is best for the country - Governor Mitt Romney.

Vote For America

Vote For Romney

Fellow Americans -- A vote for Mitt Romney is a vote for America!!

John McCain must be stopped; the items below are just a sampling of why John McCain must not be the Republican nominee.

HOW CAN WE FORGET THE McCAIN/KENNEDY AMNESTY BILL?

The American people spoke up and beat that bill down. John McCain wants amnesty. John McCain was fighting for people here illegally while serving as a US SENATOR -- think his views have changed? Check out the link below to see who is working on John McCain’s campaign. This outreach director was running Fiestas for McCain fundraising efforts.

Vote For America

VOTE FOR ROMNEY

Amendment after amendment was voted on to try to get the McCain/Kennedy amnesty bill into some form of workable text acceptable to mainstream Americans. The one most Americans should be concerned about was the Cornyn amendment to ban gang members, terrorists, and criminals. Notice how McCain voted, his co-author Ted Kennedy, his friend who endorsed him from Florida Mel Martinez, his friend from South Carolina Lindsay Graham who also endorsed him, and the junior senator from Arizona Jon Kyl. That’s right -- they voted NO to the amendment. Do you think any of them have your best conservative interests at heart?

Amendment Number: S.Amdt. 1184 to S.Amdt. 1150 to to S. 1348 (Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act of 2007)

Statement of Purpose: To establish a permanent bar for gang members, terrorists, and other criminals.

THANKS, Morgan. Can you believe that La raza stuff?

Well, Morgan...i think Amy's exactly right. On all counts.

here's my No.9 for her list: Romney believes in the PEOPLE not the PARTY. He believes in AMERICA not the PARTY. The PARTY doesn't seem to be enjoying it.

And, if I were a real conspiracy nut and believed in this ONE WORLD ORDER stuff more than I do, I'd be real, real suspicious.

VOTE ROMNEY....while we have a chance to get rid of a party guy and get a real guy in there.

that's what I have to say!!!

I do know that little old Lindsay Graham spoke at a La Raza event , so I say the link is getting longer.

Yes I remember the Keating FIVE.
Back then I lived in CA.

Word now is that Sen. Brownback, who HAD been wanting to run for the president has had his campaigning debts wiped out through the help of McCain's campaign.

The twins, McAmnesty and McHuckabee are playing class warfare games everywhere they go and it makes me want to PUKE to see what they've done to the Republican tradition of Ronald Reagan. EVERY day they attack Mitt for being rich. He DIDN'T steal it, that's for sure! Their antics come directly from the left.

My brother Jay worked for him at Bain and he said thaqt Mitt's the most impressive guy he ever met.

Mit IS a true DC outsider and I think you're right, the lefties who have taken the reins of power are in a panic that Mitt will win.

WVDOTTR...has Brownback come out for McCain..YET? Or had he before and NOW they've paid his debts.

I HOPE THIS GETS OUT. Will they say it was from the goodness of the hearts of the mcCain campaign? Think that'll fly? WHY ELSE? Unless he endorses McCain.

Man, we life in a filthy world. yuck.

MORGAN, when I heard Michael MEdved say how REAGANESQUE McCain is, I thought i'd lose my lunch. Medved's on there today suggesting that, should McCain run this country as a good conservative, the Conservatives against him now will be saying "We forced him back in our direction"...but that "he really is and always HAS been a true Conservative!" What the heck is Medved DRINKING?

Or did the McCain campaign pay his American Express bill?!!

Hi Pati, I do think the Keating Five scandal is a legitimate issue in this campaign. McCain was an unindicted co-conspirator. It was, after all, about graft. Twenty years ago, or not.

McCain/Feingold, is an assault on free speech. It has already proven to be a terrible piece of legislation. It seems to me, that this legislation gives an incumbent an even greater advantage than he had already.

Is there anyone who doesn't believe that McCain is an open borders guy?
The worst part of the attempt to pass the Immigration Reform Bill beyond it's devastating effect on the country, is the way they tried surreptitiously to get it passed. Sneak it past the people. Outrageous.

Finally, the gang of fourteen. Put in the hands of fourteen members of the Senate final say over the Senate process itself. Also affected the President's ability to lobby the Senate on legislation without going through this self-appointed group, and put constraints on Majority leader Frist and diminished his role as an elected representative of the Majority.

As you might have gathered, I am not a McCain supporter, and if he wins the nomination, I will hold my nose and vote for him, albeit with great reservation.

Have you seen Rich Galen's take?

Z said...

ELMER'S BRO: Thanks for posting this here. Yes, I'd read it. Did I tell you Rich Galen stayed with us at our Paris apartment when he had business there? GREAT guy.

I agree with Rich...and we'll all be for McCain in November (God help me), but my push now is to encourage voters to vote for Romney in the primary. At least it'll show we're not all for McCain. I agree that it's admirable that Romney spent so much money...he doesn't need this job for fame or fortune, he's doing it to fix America.

It's a good thing that others with tons of money got nowhere; dispelling the fact that anyone can buy our votes...

I hate that these information is out before the primary, it smacks of something I'm worried about but I know Rich can't be bought by McCain or the RNC, so maybe it's just honest musings and advice.

I really appreciate your bringing that here..it's an important adjunct to our discussion. Thanks!

Why thank you Z!
Populism is just so vile and ugly and a DIRECT violation of the 10th Commandment. Huckabee and to a lesser extent McCain beat the populist drums CONTINUOUSLY! It's SO tiresome to watch these guys sneer about the "wealthy" and give Romney a hard time for spending his own "millions" on his campaign. It's a direct appeal to our basest instincts.
