Obama gets the message.......and Rachel's HAIR?

Is Obama FINALLY waking up to the excellent advice of Christie of New Jersey (imagine so few unions have agreed to save others' jobs by freezing their own salaries?)?  Obama is going to freeze the salaries of two million federal employees. (Oops, there goes a chunk of the base...imagine how hard Obama had to think about this one?).

By the way, I was at the Hairdresser today looking through hair styling books (time for a no 'do') and all the girls  in the photos were in wispy, lovely long and short hair styles, off-shoulder tops, sexy little dresses, lovely make up, etc.   Suddenly, I see a very short hairdo and the woman has almost no makeup on and I realize she looks a little like Rachel Maddow and that is Maddow's haircut.  I looked at her clothing and she's in a dark pinstripe suit with a pale blue shirt, EXACTLY like Maddow wears!  I flipped quickly through the book to see if any other model had on what even remotely resembled a man's suit and there wasn't one.   I had to laugh at the thought process of the stylists of the book!  Sure, no politics mentioned, no harm, no foul, but this really was so SO obviously done on purpose.......silly, but I had to post it.

One more thing from the linked article about Mr Obama:  "The savings from the pay freeze make only a small dent in the nation's $1 trillion-plus budget deficit. But with voters voicing their anger over Washington's spending during the midterm elections, even a symbolic gesture would show the White House got the message."   CONGRATULATIONS, TEA PARTIERS.

ENVIRONMENTALISM A FRAUD?

Check out this article from HERE:

Ottmar Edenhofer is one of the leaders of the international global warming movement: he is the deputy director and chief economist at the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research, the joint chair of the IPCC's Working Group 3, and will co-chair the Working Group "Mitigation of Climate Change" at the upcoming summit in Cancun. On November 14, he was interviewed by the Neue Zürcher Zeitung. His explanation of the current goals of the climate change movement was illuminating:
The new thing about your proposal for a Global Deal is the stress on the importance of development policy for climate policy. Until now, many think of aid when they hear development policies.
That will change immediately if global emission rights are distributed. If this happens, on a per capita basis, then Africa will be the big winner, and huge amounts of money will flow there. This will have enormous implications for development policy. And it will raise the question if these countries can deal responsibly with so much money at all.
That does not sound anymore like the climate policy that we know.
Basically it's a big mistake to discuss climate policy separately from the major themes of globalization. The climate summit in Cancun at the end of the month is not a climate conference, but one of the largest economic conferences since the Second World War. Why? Because we have 11,000 gigatons of carbon in the coal reserves in the soil under our feet - and we must emit only 400 gigatons in the atmosphere if we want to keep the 2-degree target. 11 000 to 400 - there is no getting around the fact that most of the fossil reserves must remain in the soil.
De facto, this means an expropriation of the countries with natural resources. This leads to a very different development from that which has been triggered by development policy.
First of all, developed countries have basically expropriated the atmosphere of the world community. But one must say clearly that we redistribute de facto the world's wealth by climate policy. Obviously, the owners of coal and oil will not be enthusiastic about this. One has to free oneself from the illusion that international climate policy is environmental policy. This has almost nothing to do with environmental policy anymore, with problems such as deforestation or the ozone hole.

Someone named "John" posted that over at Power Line, I've added the red..........thanks, John.

Wikileaks......transparency and trouble?

SO, what do we do about Wikileaks?  Is our safety less important than the 'importance of transparency' behind which Julian Assange will hide, justifying ruining years of covert intelligence and besmirching the lives of courageous men and women who've died in the pursuit of intelligence and those still out there wondering how soon they can get OUT of the CIA and maybe find a plumbing job now that all this has happened?  Who would stay IN?   What do we do about Pfc. Bradley Manning, the "man" who leaked this information?  Which political group do you feel will be more apt to be easy on him if he is ever brought to trial?

The New York Times article I linked never even mentions Julian Assange, the "man" responsible for all of this.
But, he did give information to the NYTimes...interesting he'd give it to the left leaning Times, isn't it.  By the way, in the article, the Slimes refers to this as "fodder for history"......apparently, they aren't quite grasping the possible consequences of all of this.  Or don't much care?  Here's more on the New York Times:

"WikiLeaks said on Twitter early Sunday that its website was "under a mass distributed denial of service attack" but promised that Spain's El Pais, France's Le Monde, Germany's Der Spiegel, Britain's Guardian newspaper and The New York Times "will publish many US embassy cables tonight, even if WikiLeaks goes down." WikiLeaks had given the media outlets prior access to the diplomatic cables to publish in conjunction with their Sunday release on its site."
Well, bully for the Times, eh?  I guess they worked a deal Really nice to know with certainty which side the New York Times is on.

I watched FOX last night for a discussion on this.........they had two liberal Democrats on, one was Professor Caroline Heldman at Occidental.  She and the Democrat Advisor who was on both thought these leaks are absolutely no problem, that it was really GOOD to get things out in the open.  One got a real sense for how hopelessly naive these leftists are. They couldn't address the damage done to communication with other countries, they almost seemed not to understand covert action or really didn't care.

SO, what can we do about all this betrayal of very important information?  Do you think Assange will come to trial? I don't.   Do you wonder why he'd give the information to  the New York Times?    All quite fascinating and highly dangerous.  Or do you, too, just think this is "fodder for history!"?
*I almost posted an image of Julian Assange, but A. Who'd want to see his face?  B. He looks too much like Bill Maher.

THANKS to SQUANTO.... you were a blessing

SQUANTO's story is HERE, with a bit more good information HERE.........but the real story is as I've outlined below:

An Indian on North American shores, in 1614, was kidnapped and taken to England.  What are the chances?
This Indian learns English there.  What are the chances?
This Indian gets taken back to North America. What are the chances?
This Indian goes back to his homeland area where Pilgrims are almost dead from a bad winter and on the verge of dying off and need help from someone who understands the land and speaks their language..  What are the chances?
This Indian helps them survive by teaching them, in English, how to survive, grow corn, etc. What are the chances?

The chances just might be blessings, divine providence.  Imagine how much the Pilgrims needed Squanto just to survive?  Who else could have helped them?  How could this whole chain of events in Squanto's life have worked so perfectly for America?

This is from Wikipedia:
Thanksgiving Day is a harvest festival celebrated primarily in the United States and Canada. Traditionally, it has been a time to give thanks for a bountiful harvest. While it may have been religious in origin, Thanksgiving is now primarily identified as a secular holiday. It is sometimes casually referred to as Turkey Day.

And, here is one of the only two primary sources for the events of Autumn 1621 in Plymouth, a letter written by Edward Winslow:

"Our harvest being gotten in, our governor sent four men on fowling, that so we might after a special manner rejoice together, after we had gathered the fruits of our labors; they four in one day killed as much fowl, as with a little help beside, served the Company almost a week, at which time amongst other Recreations, we exercised our Arms, many of the Indians coming amongst us, and amongst the rest their greatest kind Massasoit, with some  ninety men, whom for three days we entertained and feasted, and they went out and killed five Deer, which they brought to the Plantation and bestowed on our Governor, and upon the Captain and others.  And although it be not always so plentiful, as it was at this time with us, yet by the goodness of God, we are so far from want, that we often wish you partakers of our plenty."

So, today in modern America, Wikipedia tells us it "MAY" have been religious in origin....but there is no 'may' about it, no writings anywhere suggest that!..  It was all about GOD, thanking GOD, and the more we thank, the more He seems to supply, even today!....but, sadly, today we're so cool it's become TURKEY DAY....Yes, Wikipedia, it's "a time to give thanks for a bountiful harvest"...to whom?  To the corn stalks?  Ah, well.....

HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL GEEEEZ READERS.......I wish you a very beautiful day of thanksgiving.to God, or to the corn stalks, which ever you feel moved to do.  I'll be thanking God for this great country, for my family, friends, and all of you cyberspace friends so many of whom I've come to have really great affection and respect for.  (And I'll be eating great food, I hope you do, too!) By the way, I'm very thankful to all of you who support this blog, too. I really, really appreciate you all.

God bless you all, and GOD BLESS AMERICA.............

Donald Trump, Commander in CHIEF?

Could you vote for Donald Trump for President?  That video says a LOT, in my opinion. I happen to think he has an even bigger ego than O'Reilly (which is going some), but I sure like what he says in this video.  And I sure liked hearing what he said this morning on FOX about North and South Korea's situation now and how WE are sending ships to help S Korea even after they're demanding we sign treaties which give them an advantage.
He's right when he says they have no more respect for us since Obama........we're getting pushed around;  this is new for America. Hopefully, YouTube might post his interview at FOX this morning.
I'll guarantee one thing: you KNOW that guy loves America, and will not be pushed around.

COULD YOU VOTE FOR DONALD TRUMP FOR PRESIDENT?  This idea really intrigues me.  Here's  a guy who might not "work well with others" (I don't know if he could cooperate much with anyone after running his own show for so long and so effectively),  people seem to like him, he's strong and seems tactful, he understands business and loves the country.  Please watch the video before answering..........it'll make a big difference in your opinion;  It did mine.  Thanks!

BOOM box! the new meaning of the phrase!

THIS is Ticker's Blog........He has an amazing bunch of posts up now; installments from a book called THE FALLEN EAGLE.   Absolutely riveting and not far from what we've been discussing here for a long time.

BUT, I mention that mostly because I want to thank Ticker for having left the comment below, in italics, on my Burqa's/TSA post....it's a comment that absolutely cracked me up and I wanted to make sure you all saw it!;

Ticker said...
Someone sent me via e-mail the perfect solution to this problem.
Simply have a booth, similar to what the bomb squad boys use to disarm bombs but, you know, make it look nice for the airport. Every person has to enter the booth, the door closes, if there is no bomb on the person the door opens and the person boards the plane. If the person is carrying a bomb there will be a soft muffled "boom", the cleaning crew will be called an an announcement will go out..."There is an available seat on Flight 0000."
Now how simple is that! No profiling, no discrimination, no pat downs and no body scans. You'd think someone in the "gubermint" could come up with something that simple, but then again, Naw, never happen.

"Naw...never happen.."   But it sure is funny, and it sure would solve the problem with very little fuss 'n muss (unless you're on Airport Clean-up!)  Yes, I know I sound heartless but I love humor like this and I had to post it!   Thanks, Ticker!

Muslim women patting themselves down? WHAT?

The TSA warns us not to boycott body scanners at airports because we need to be safe.  Fine. Some of us disagree, some of us don't like it, but the TSA wants us to be safe, RIGHT?

But, the news is that Janet Napolitano, head of Homeland Security (God, help us all) is considering allowing muslim women to pat themselves down...

After all............"The Council on American-Islamic Relations, CAIR, has expressed concern with the TSA over the regulations and recommended special procedures for dealing with Muslim women. The organization issued a travel advisory for Muslims over the procedure.
In the advisory CAIR advises all Muslims to contact them and file a complaint with the TSA if they experience any “disturbing incidents” with the new procedures and they feel they have been unfairly singled out for screening."

Can you BELIEVE THIS?     What are your thoughts?

Germany's Parliament Building shut down

There are terror threats to Germany's Parliament Building in Berlin. (tell me, honestly, was your first thought "those darned SWEDES" when you read my sentence?)

I was wondering.........muslim/mostly Arab terrorists are threatening us, our cities, our airplanes, our cargo, France,  Germany, etc., etc.,........What if we threaten muslim countries (okay, or Oslo, if you happened to answer 'yes' to my question above)?   What would happen should MECCA get undisclosed threats?.....or maybe threats attributed to some group here in America or London or Frankfurt?    The Arabs don't know WHERE this group is, much like we can't pin down Al Qaeda, the group responsible for these threats, so we can take them out..... so what might they do?

I'm thinking our media, our police, our FBI, etc., would track the American group down first and prosecute them here..  OUR people will protect MECCA, right?

Meanwhile, soon, the whole Western world will have viable threats, and even successes.......and we're fighting, losing money, losing people, and .....do you see where I'm going with this?   What WOULD happen should Arab cities's buildings get threatened?

Nightmares of Airport Screening..God help us all

And then there's THIS.

I can't say any more, except anybody who thinks WE have the kind of people Israel has working at EL AL, who've kept them safe for 35 years,  hasn't been paying attention to the 'qualities' of the normal American lately.   Sorry, that's just the way I feel.  Commenter and good friend, Impertinent, just sent me THIS...darned if it doesn't support my very sad statement just before this about our screeners.

Sunday Faith Blog

Bill Nye passed out at USC...read HERE  The students sat there, never went to help him, and just turned to Twittering and texting.   In that story, there is mention of a pseudo-celeb who was murdered in New Orleans.  There, nobody came to his aid, bystanders got on their cell phones and photo'd him lying in a pool of blood.

Is this behavior of people who are caring, Godly?  It's my firm conviction that the closing of hearts to God in our society is creating people like those above who can actually ignore people in distress, even chronicling like ghouls the disasters for others.  It's all about THEM and that kind of behavior and, sometimes, even THIS kind of result, could be biproducts of it being "ALL ABOUT ME!".  When it's all about GOD, people come out of themselves, following His tenets, being more Christ-like, in essence, stepping in FOR HIM..........

God, help us to become better people...remind us that it's taking you OUT of America which is the cause of so many of the ills in our own lives and our communities from one end of this country to the other.   Amen.

"If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him?"  1 John 3:17

Help someone today.......make it a better Sunday for him..and for you!

early Sunday Faith Blog........I just couldn't wait to post it!!

DID YOU SEE THIS?   A little boy, during surgery, went to heaven and met the little sister who his mother had miscarried, only he'd never been told she'd miscarried.  He recognizes pictures of his great grandfather he never knew because he met him "up there" and the pictures of his great grandfather he recognizes are not him as an old man but as a young man.  He says there are no old people in heaven.  He's told his father, since his recovery, of things his father used to do with his beloved grandfather which the boy could have never known.  Here's the lead in paragraph for the article:

Well he’s 7 years old now and it took a couple of years for his parents to really understand what happened, but when Colton Burpo was four years he was having surgery in the hospital for a burst appendix. While he was in surgery he apparently had some sort of out of body experience and could see what his parents were doing. He witnessed that his dad was praying and his mom on her cellphone. Both parents say they have no clue how he knew that, but that it’s absolutely true. And the story just gets more interesting from there.
PLEASE don't just read my post...the article's life-changing and the video there of the child talking with his (earthly!) father will give you goose bumps.
This is astonishing and I hope you take the time to see it.  I just might leave it up through Saturday, too.   People need to see this.  I can hardly believe this....so open, so clear, so convincing........praise God!

BODY SCANNER company....wait till you read THIS!

A man named Deepok Chopra (apparently, not 'that' Deepok, by the way) is CEO of the big airport body scanning (and he's supposedly divested himself of the stock...why?)?   Isn't it AMAZING that Homeland Security's recommending the scans? (yes, a bit of sarcasm there) :-)  Read THIS link.

OH, and......check out this paragraph from the link!
A look at OSI Systems, Inc., including its Rapiscan subsidiary identifies Deepak Chopra as the president and CEO. Chopra, individually and through his PAC, has been identified as a significant donor to the Democratic party, including contributions to the campaigns of Obama and Hillary Rodham Clinton. It should come as no surprise, then, to learn that he accompanied President Obama and his royal entourage by invitation on his recent trip to India to promote further trade between the two countries. The trip was paid for by U.S. tax dollars.
(that's a REAL full body scan in the image!!)

So, interesting stuff, huh?  I urge you to read the link..........we are so getting duped.$$$  But SOME (liberals) are SURE getting rich.   I had pointed out to me by Joe at Jo-Joe Politico Blog that Soros seems to have dumped 12000 shares of stock recently.  WHY?  Was he afraid that he'd been seen as AGAIN involved in something that enrichens him and bugs most of America?  I wonder why he would...just when DHS is demanding them$$.  Or, is he smart enough to smell the stockinged feet at airports and realize we aren't going for these machines after all?  Curious. I'd bet it's the first.....he's trying to hide.

Gloria Allred pulled a fast one.............

Meg Whitman settled for $5,500.00 with her housekeeper, the one who probably lost her the election when Governor Brown's fan, Attorney Gloria Allred, brought out that, a YEAR AGO, the housekeeper was let go for having lied that she was legal to the Whitman family.

$5,500.00.  Gloria makes about $2,000 on that, so it's hard to tell why either of the women in the picture to the left are looking quite so happy (could there be monies both got we don't know about?), probably 1/100th of what she generally gets per case.   Any more evidence needed that this was a set-up about the election?
I don't think so, either.

My Uncle is my past

I have a special uncle...I had two wonderful uncles, but I lost one three years ago.  The one who died was my mother's brother and an absolutely amazing man I loved very much.  The one who's still with us is Dad's brother.   He's the only uncle I have left. This uncle's in the hospital now but he's doing well, thank God.  He sounded good when I called him just now but, when I hung up the phone, I got to thinking.
This uncle represents my Dad's family to me......I knew and adored my great grandparents and my grandparents, and he represents them and Dad, whom I lost 16 years ago..he IS that whole family now.  I'll call him Uncle Jim for anonymity sake, though it feels real weird to me!

This uncle really is a big part of my past.  His eyes are dark brown and I can see that whole side of the family in them.........his hands look like Grandpa's and he wears Grandpa's ring, too.  His height and build remind me of my fabulous father (you'd have thought the same thing about Dad if you'd known him).  His deep voice is that of the men on that side of the family.  I have always loved him with all my heart.

My sister called when she heard Uncle Jim was in the hospital.."I cried when Mom told me......though it sounds like he's going to be fine."  I told her "Ya, I misted up immediately, fine or not.....he means a lot."  He's Uncle Jim, our uncle, our Godfather, our confidante, our helper when needed.   With everyone gone, he IS Dad's family, and I can't let that go.  Not yet.

I lived with my great grandparents, grandparents, my parents and Uncle Jim before my folks and I made the big move two doors down!  How I loved that large old house of my grandparents.  I knew every nook and cranny, I knew every house in the neighborhood because Grandpa used to walk me around in my stroller...the firstborn, the baby queen in his eyes, even if I wasn't a KING :-)  We moved farther away when I was about five, I guess...... but we've always been a close family and saw each other often. Uncle Jim has always been an enormous part of my life.  My first corporate job was with his company.  I called him "JIM" then so's to ward off any nepotism accusations (as if I could).  I worked there for five years and then moved on but that company he'd helped found was important to us all, we have always been so proud of "JIM".

He got his law degree from USC and I think it must have been that graduation which I missed because I had the mumps.  Because I missed it, my handsome young uncle took me, probably about 8 yrs old, to a very snazzy restaurant to celebrate, just with ME, his young niece.  I still remember it.  When he was at boot camp in Arizona, he sent me my first watch for my birthday, in a cigar box!  I still remember that, too. Those things count to a kid, don't they.  He married my aunt, who's been great to us, too, and they have a super family, we're all pretty close.  This illness really got me to thinking about how much of my life he's been and, while I've always known family's very important, his being sick threw me.  To most people, a wonderful uncle's a wonderful uncle, to me, my Uncle Jim IS Dad's whole family now, rolled into one great guy.  I'm not ready to lose that yet.

It looks like Uncle Jim is going to be fine...the docs performed a procedure they feel will stop the problem he went in for, but I'll be praying and I'd appreciate a prayer from you all, too.........but, don't call him Uncle Jim, God might get confused.......call him "Z's Uncle", okay?  Thanks.
(and, by the way...do you have a special relative you'd like to share with us here?)  xx

Death Panels....Palin was RIGHT, Mr. Krugman?

This is stolen from AMERICAN THINKER........it's worth it, you won't believe what Krugman's finally admitting (make sure you click their links).  The article is called A DEATH PANEL BY ANY OTHER NAME...here it is:

They laughed when Sarah Palin said Obamacare would require death panels to control medical costs. But for some reason no one laughs when New York times columnist Paul Krugman says the same thing. Maybe because he won--inexplicably--the Nobel Prize for Economics.

Yesterday he did it again both on This Week with Christiane Amanpour  and then further explaining in his New York Times column that no, he didn't really mean death panels just because he called them...death panels.

I said something deliberately provocative on This Week, so I think I'd better clarify what I meant (which I did on the show, but it can't hurt to say it again.)

So, what I said is that the eventual resolution of the deficit problem both will and should rely on "death panels and sales taxes". What I meant is that

(a) health care costs will have to be controlled, which will surely require having Medicare and Medicaid decide what they're willing to pay for - not really death panels, of course, but consideration of medical effectiveness and, at some point, how much we're willing to spend for extreme care
No they really are death panels. Having government officials -- panels, if you will -- deciding the cost and medical effectiveness of treatment v. the value of a person's life with the same compassion of Government Motors choosing to cease manufacturing Pontiacs and closing down dealers.

Death panels. Say it again, say it any which way but Sarah Palin nailed it the first time--a death panel by any other name is still a death panel.

Paul Krugman, if you want some highly paid government official deciding whether your life is worth sacrificing to control health care costs put that on your DNR (do not resuscitate) order not on mine.

Update - Randall Hoven adds:

Dr. Krugman prognosticates on ABC's This Week.

"If they were going to do reality therapy, they should have said, OK, look, Medicare is going to have to decide what it's going to pay for.  And at least for starters, it's going to have to decide which medical procedures are not effective at all and should not be paid for at all...  Some years down the pike, we're going to get the real solution, which is going to be a combination of death panels and sales taxes.  It's going to be that we're actually going to take Medicare under control, and we're going to have to get some additional revenue, probably from a VAT."
Z:  More of the article I got that from is HERE.  It's by Ethel C. Fenig.

Democrats DO think we're DUMBED DOWN.......

Michael Moore says the Democrats should run Oprah Winfrey and Tom Hanks for President and VP.   This is the mindset of the Far Left.............STAR power.......and, you know, these people could win, they really could.  In the linked article, he compares Oprah Winfrey's running as a star to Ronald Reagan's running as a star.   Yes, he does :-)
With the lack of knowledge we see in too many Americans, with a mindset of adults thinking it's okay to indoctrinate kids through singing the praise songs to Obama we've all heard, and the way our media writes celebrity headlines while really troubling problems are happening in America, many would vote for Oprah/Hanks, you know that.
There is no respect for dignity, integrity, intelligence, experience.......the fact that Michael Moore could even seriously promote this idea says so much about the far Left which are such fans of his.

IF YOU COULD NOMINATE 2 CELEBS FOR PRESIDENT AND VP, WHO WOULD THEY BE?

Jake and NURU..... You'll want to know about them......I promise

UPDATE:  MONDAY:  I'm keeping this post here for most of Monday because I so badly want you all to read it:
I've never in my life met a man quite like THIS.  I met Jake Harriman last night and was so impressed with him I wanted to blog about the group he co-founded and is CEO of, NURU International.(please explore the link).  Here are some of his honors, none of which he mentioned to me and, if he ever read this, I know he'd be cringing that I shared it with you:
Bronze Star Medal … Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal … Combat Action Ribbon (two) … Presidential Unit Citation  Meritorious Unit Commendation … Navy and Marine Corps Expeditionary Medal … National Defense Service Medal (two) Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal … Iraqi Campaign Medal … Global War On Terrorism Expeditionary Medal   G lobal War On Terrorism Service Medal … Humanitarian Service Medal (two) … Sea Service Deployment Ribbon (four)    Honor Graduate of Basic Officers Course (BOC) and “Gung Ho” Award – graduating 1 out of 250

That's just his commendations........there's plenty more here:
Jake earned his MBA at the Stanford Graduate School of Business in June 2008. He graduated with distinction earning a B.S. in Systems Engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1998. Upon graduation, he served seven and a half years as an infantry and special operations platoon commander. During that time, he led Marines in chaotic, ever-changing environments on four operational deployments throughout the United States, the Pacific Rim, Southeast Asia, Africa, and Southwest Asia/Middle East, including two combat tours in Iraq. He was awarded the Bronze Star for actions in combat during his second tour in Iraq. Jake has international experience working throughout Southeast Asia, Southwest Asia/Middle East, Africa, Europe, North and South America, and Australia/ South Pacific. He has specific economic development and humanitarian assistance/disaster relief experience in Kenya, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, and Mexico.

PLEASE check out Nuru International and see if you can give them a donation...and send this to people whom you know want to help those in areas which need to be taught to DO FOR THEMSELVES, not have things GIVEN TO THEM.  From my conversation last night with Jake, I gathered that this is his group's focus;  HELPING OTHERS TO LEARN HOW TO HELP THEMSELVES, a concept I know you good people appreciate.

If you can't send money right now (but, I hope you can and do), please pray for Jake and his group... Judging from having talked to him, I am sure that would be very appreciated, too.
thanks so much.........Z

What more can be said?  The Hallelujiah Chorus, nothing if it's not about GOD, moves so many people at this department store!  ENJOY, I promise it will make your day, and it might even bring a tear to your eye.  You know, I think it kind of shows we're not quite as jaded as we think...... A good thing!

Elton John...Leon Russell...........WHAT a collaboration

If you like either Elton or Leon, you will love THE UNION, their new CD.  This CD is so so FAR better than I could have even hoped.  I figured Leon would be there capitulating and supporting Elton's 'predictable stuff' , maybe more as an edgy background player, but boy, was I wrong.     Leon SHINES in this CD and Elton's more fabulous than I've known him as I've never been his biggest fan though I've liked his music.
From reading all the notes of how this album came about, it turns out that Elton and Z, both piano players (tho I hesitate even to suggest we're close to the same level of talent!), have both looked upon Leon Russell as "THE MASTER."  I have loved Leon since I first heard him open his mouth and I have missed him.  Turns out Elton had missed him, too, and decided to do something about it.
I just finished listening to the CD my sis in Canada sent me yesterday and I got a tingle when I heard the fourth song and thought "That other voice is way too high for Leon to be singing at his age and it's not Elton....odd, but that sounds like Neil Young"  I checked the notes and it IS Neil Young, how's that?  (I was always a big fan of Young's and have a bootleg album of his singing at the LA Music Center, as a matter of fact....which I found out at ebay is worth about the vinyl it's printed on, unfortunately!)
Anyway, if you know anyone who loves Elton John and loves honky/tonk, gospel, bluesy paino/voice, you will adore this album.  If you happen to be a huge fan of Leon's, like me, and I know far fewer people even know him let alone admire him as they do Sir Elton, GET THIS CD.   I PROMISE you will not be disappointed, you'll be thrilled.
By the way....if you're also a CLASSICAL MUSIC fan, as I am, check THIS OUT....play some of the music at Amazon, you'll want to get that CD to your house this afternoon...Murray Perahia is one of my favorites pianists, too.

Spend what you,...'urn'........but THIS?

My reader friends here know I'm probably at least as good a Conservative as most of them are........but THIS really gets to me.  Sure, people should be able to spend anything they want to on anything they want, we applaud success,  but think of how many people could EAT on $69.3 MILLION dollars.   Instead, somebody's got a beautiful old vase from China.  Go ahead, take your swipes!  I can take it :-)   What do YOU think?

Glenn Beck is an AntiSemite..?

Please read THIS.......it's amazing.   For having quoted George Soros (extremely interesting link, by the way), a Jew, Beck is now considered by the liberal media an AntiSemite...wow.  Beck has never said anything other than quote what Soros has himself said about himself.............and yet, Beck must show remorse, when Soros has none?  I think, considering the topic,  Soros' lack of remorse is a bit more huge than any Beck needs to show.
Then read THIS piece from The Daily Beast, maybe the most dishonest, agenda-driven story I've maybe ever seen.
As Beck pointed out yesterday on his show, holding up reams of paper "you think our lawyers haven't checked all of this out?"   He doesn't say anything without backup, he never suggests anything without facts and figures........he's OPINION, not NEWS, but, brother, is Soros strong enough to bring him down?  he's sure trying.  Can't have anybody thinking anything negative about George Soros now, can we!  Can't have the masses THINKING, after all.
This blog isn't going to solve this problem.........FOX, the Anti Defamation League, and much larger entities than my blog are addressing it.........but it sure should be noted that lies are prevailing.   And freedom of thought?  Perish the thought, according to the far Left's hero, George Soros.

The "Middle East Problem" explained

Thank you to "PRAGER UNIVERSITY" for this short, concise and honest assessment of the MIDDLE EAST PROBLEM, as he puts it.   It's clear cut, it's obvious, and yet, many people just don't get it;  many are on the Arab side with no desire to know the facts.  Please listen, please comment.

Thanks to Fair Witness for sending this to me.

Infuriated.........

I try not to swear much but I don't really give a damn right now because I'm so ticked off.  On the Dennis Miller radio show tonight, I heard a Vietnam Vet, a Marine, thank America for having changed.  He said that he was called 'baby killer' and even worse names upon arriving back to the States and he actually started crying when he said how much he appreciates that America's changed so much in forty years.  He THANKED AMERICANS for laying off the 'baby killer' stuff and actually honoring our military.
IMAGINE the left's nasty slings and arrows at good men like THIS who've held in their feelings as if they should be apologetic for having slaved in the jungles of Vietnam with little food or drink, threatened every day in that dreadful tropical heat, missing their families, for months and months.  For all of that, they were humiliated when they finally got home.  This guy has to thank US for not calling him NAMES?  BASTARDS....anyone who EVER dissed a Vietnam Vet is a total bastard.
Sorry, I can't help it.

Veteran's day 2010.........by MUSTANG

My dear friend and blog buddy, Mustang, has written quite a piece on Veteran's Day..........Please read THIS and join him and me in remembering our troops, offering a prayer up for the brave men and women who've given up so much for us, and for their families, heroes all.

CNN thinks FOX is too biased? REALLY......??

THIS is just too rich not to post it.  CNN is "HONEST"?   Have you seen Wolf Blitzer cover ANY Palistine/Israel story!?  I actually start laughing at the anti-Israel bias he never stops showing. CNN had Rick Sanchez on for a very long time, was that unbiased journalism? CNN has only recently started inviting Conservative talking heads on......and, even then, barely ever.

How the heck long is CNN going to slam FOX for bias? It's laughable.   Are Geraldo Rivera, Kirsten Powers, Bob Beckell, Juan Williams, Pat Cadell, Doug Schoen, Caroline Heldman, Sheperd Smith, etc etc..., all REGULARS on FOX,  CONSERVATIVE?  :-)  No, they are not.

To my readers: PLEASE write down three names of Conservatives who are on at least 3 times a week on CNN.  Good luck. And enough said.;  STOP the silliness, CNN...thou really doth protest WAAAY too hard!  Oh, also........if you've ever EVER heard anyone critical of a liberal guest on Larry King Live, CNN's evening show, get to call in a question, jot that down, too, okay?    (don't waste too much time, it doesn't happen)

BY the way...on a related story, Keith Olbermann, after being reinstated at MSNBC, said this: "Jonah Goldberg, William Kristol, and Dana Lash probably treated me better than I would have treated them," because they stood up for him regardless of their political views being so different.  I haven't a shred of respect for this highly biased, nasty creep, but I do give credit where credit is due.  He got that right.  They're Republicans, they saw he was mistreated and stood up for him.  As he says, he wouldn't have done that.  They stood up for Juan Williams, too.......I'm very proud of that.

Obama will revisit his CAIRO SPEECH? OH, my GOSH..........

Get a load of THISDo you ever get the feeling that Obama blames Americans for the rift with muslims?  I understand that he's apparently trying to build bridges and make muslims less angry at us, but....don't you figure the 'average muslim' on the street is thinking "GeeeZ, muslim nuts killed 3000 Americans and their president's trying to make US feel better about THEM?"   Check these Obama phrases from his speech out:

"Forcefully returning to a theme he sounded last year in visits to Turkey and Egypt, Obama said: "I have made it clear that America is not and never will be at war with islam ... Those who want to build must not cede ground to terrorists who seek to destroy."
Reaching out to the Islamic world, Obama said efforts to build trust and peace are showing promise but are still clearly incomplete.
"Relations between the United States and Muslim nations have been frayed over many years. As president, I have made it a priority to begin to repair these relations," Obama said.
He said both sides have a choice: either "be defined by our differences and give in to a future of suspicion and mistrust" or "do the hard work of forging common ground and commit ourselves to the steady pursuit of progress."

Here's another clip from the end of the linked article:

China and Germany, however, have suggested that the U.S. Federal Reserve's announcement last week that it would in effect print $600 billion to buy longer-term U.S. Treasury bonds over the next eight months — in an effort to drive down interest rates and stimulate the U.S. economy — had further driven down an already weak dollar, worsening global trade tensions.

Of course, they're probably absolutely right.  I wish so much that he would LISTEN.

Tell me something, what would you like Obama to tell muslim audiences in muslim countries?  Pretend you're him (now, now....I said "pretend"), and tell us in COMMENTS what you think would be important for him to say.  ("I quit" doesn't count :-)

Reports of elderly fraudulant voting....help, please

Did anybody hear where one writes to FOX to inform them of the elderly fraud they're hearing so much about?  They're asking for reports of people having seen this. This morning, they spoke of people who wonder how their incompetent, completely uninvolved elderly relatives were able to vote.
As some of you read here, my voting precinct was a Senior Resident Care center and I saw a woman who looked totally incompetent wheeled into the voting area (Dining room of the facility) and the woman wheeling her told the people there she was there to vote!  The woman looked like she couldn't spell her name....
I also would like to report my story of the young woman who blew in that day and voted Provisionally because she thought it was "so cool" she didn't have to go all the way home during the day to vote at her precinct.   When I questioned the guy in charge he said she signed a book and all those books go to the voting headquarters and names are checked.  I asked a friend who was a registrar of voters and she said "There is NO WAY they check all those thousands of names...they can't.  They don't!"    Provisional ballots are usually fraud, too.  I can't help but wonder how many precincts she blew into to vote and sign the useless provisional ballot book.
ACORN has had two people now admit to fraud and I sure haven't seen it in the news except at FOX......this is serious and we all have to get involved.
If you know of ANYTHING like what I describe, please report it......and, if anybody heard the FOX link where I should report the elderly voting fraud I saw, could you let me know!?  Thanks.

TO THE GOP....from Pris. GET A LOAD OF THIS!

I am so proud to present Priscilla's latest "Priscilla's Post" column........she knocks it OUT OF THE PARK and I know most of you will agree........ SHE'S ON FIRE!  Here goes..........

To the GOP establishment. The tea party is here to stay. We are a force to be reckoned with, and as you all know, once a power base is formed, it tends to like it's power, and because this a country wide movement with no one leader to focus on, good luck with your co-opting, you're going to need it.

We're here because you refused to hear us. We were not deemed worthy of being listened to.  Yes, you’ve been in the minority, and you took the correct position in not voting for the healthcare plan. By then you knew the people opposed it. But, all through that debate, you did not inform the people of the truths within that plan. You said it was behind closed doors, but were we to believe you knew nothing of some of the  details? Did you come before us, and tell us in no uncertain terms how truly onerous it was?  How our freedom would be impaired? How the government would control our lives in a way never before done in America?

You created the tea party because you refused to speak for us. Voting no wasn’t enough, the people needed  an aggressive approach on our behalf and you wouldn’t provide it. You were too busy planning political strategy. So we supplied the voices, and we organized groups around the country, which became the tea party.

Now that we supplied the energy  and  passion  which roused the electorate,  you want us to go away. Now, instead of defining the radicals in the administration for what they are, you instead seek to rid yourselves of the very people who made the Republican tide possible. It’s too late. You had your chance. We love America, and we’re taking our country back, as well as our responsibility to give you our consent when you recognize you represent us, and our freedom and as Americans.

Elitism is a condition based on a perception of being among the chosen few, and of a self perception of enlightenment and existing above the fray. That is what's at work in Washington DC.

We will be watching who in the GOP is demonizing our grassroots movement, Sarah Palin, Jim DeMint, or Michele Bachmann, for that matter.

I would remind you that there is an election in two years, and I'm sure Bob Bennett, and Mike Castle would be happy to console those of who should you lose.

Furthermore, while you lament O'Donnell, and Angle, let me remind you, not long ago, Arlen Specter was your choice. Charlie Crist the chameleon candidate, was also your choiceMarco Rubio was ours.

O'Donnell and Angle did not receive the help from the GOP that they should have, thereby making their success, nearly impossible.

Furthermore, you embraced primary loser Lisa Murkowski, encouraging her write-in candidacy,  proving the existing "buddy system", and liberal lite, is your preference. You did not support the primary winner, Joe Miller.

Here are some past choices you've made. Gerald Ford, Robert Dole, John McCain. And why? Because it was their turn according to the pecking order of the GOP old boys beltway network. Even more amazing, you disdained  Ronald Reagan’s nomination. So you’ll excuse us if we don’t swoon at your  presumptive "expertise” at backing candidates.

Here's a final reminder, Trent Lott is not elected to anything. The elected buddy system is bad enough without input from unelected interlopers with big mouths.

Z: BRAVO, PRIS!    What do you all think? (as if I didn't know?)

Sunday Faith Blog

Some of us lost a little faith on Tuesday night after the election.  While there was quite a lot of good news, most of us wanted Harry Reid gone.  Most of us wanted Republicans to take the Senate as well as the House.  A lot of us are terribly disappointed at California's results.  But.............

"....let us humbly commit our righteous cause to the great Lord of the universe, who loveth righteousness and hateth iniquity.  And having secured the approbation of our hearts, by a faithful and unwearied discharge of our duty to our country, let us joyfully leave our concerns in the hands of Him who raiseth up and pulleth down the empires and kingdoms of the world as He pleases; and with cheerful submission to His sovereign will, devoutly  say, "Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be on the vines; the labor of the olive shall fail, and the field shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the field, and there shall be no herd in the stalls; yet we will rejoice in the Lord, we will joy in the God of our salvation."
That, from America's own John Hancock.

"No people can be bound to acknowledge and adore the invisible hand, which conducts the affairs of men, more than the people of the United States."   George Washington.

They knew........and we need to remember.
Have a wonderful Sunday.........    God bless you all, and may He continue to bless this great country.

I kind of liked Jill Clayburgh and am saddened to hear of her death at only 66 years old, of chronic leukemia. She was never a 'star' but she was always good, she always delivered a sensitive, fine and honest performance.

Olbermann.........oops

Keith Olbermann suspended for donations to Democrat candidates?   HERE is the article......

The linked article says....
"Olbermann is one of MSNBC’s most recognizable faces, and has emerged as one of the country’s most prominent liberal commentators"
THAT guy is one of COUNTRY's most prominent liberal commentators?  Have you ever SEEN him?  He's comic relief, you have to laugh at the pursed mouth, the self-righteous dismissiveness, his absolute surety in what he says as if he can never be wrong and everybody on the Right's just plain disgusting.......My GOSH, that quote cracked me up!

As for suspension for contributing to candidates, do you think that's right?  Do you think that's a fair thing to ask of any on-air employee?    I'm not sure I do.
What do you think?  (I'd use an image of the jerk to illustrate this post but I just can't bring myself to have that face on my blog...)

Conservative Senators.........please pay attention

The Wall Street Journal

NOVEMBER 3, 2010

Welcome, Senate Conservatives

Remember what the voters back home want—less government and more freedom.

Congratulations to all the tea party-backed candidates who overcame a determined, partisan opposition to win their elections. The next campaign begins today. Because you must now overcome determined party insiders if this nation is going to be spared from fiscal disaster.
Many of the people who will be welcoming the new class of Senate conservatives to Washington never wanted you here in the first place. The establishment is much more likely to try to buy off your votes than to buy into your limited-government philosophy. Consider what former GOP senator-turned-lobbyist Trent Lott told the Washington Post earlier this year: "As soon as they get here, we need to co-opt them.".

But someone can't be bribed if they aren't for sale. Here is some humble advice on how to recognize and refuse such offers.Don't let them. Co-option is coercion. Washington operates on a favor-based economy and for every earmark, committee assignment or fancy title that's given, payback is expected in return. The chits come due when the roll call votes begin. This is how big-spending bills that everyone always decries in public always manage to pass with just enough votes.

First, don't request earmarks. If you do, you'll vote for legislation based on what's in it for your state, not what's best for the country. You will lose the ability to criticize wasteful spending. And, if you dare to oppose other pork-barrel projects, the earmarkers will retaliate against you.
In 2005, Sen. Tom Coburn (R., Okla.) offered a measure to kill funding for the infamous "Bridge to Nowhere." Before the vote, Sen. Patty Murray (D., Wash.), an appropriator, issued a warning on the Senate floor.
"If we start cutting funding for individual projects, your project may be next," she said. "When Members come down to the floor to vote on this amendment, they need to know if they support stripping out this project, Senator Bond [a Republican appropriator] and I are likely to be taking a long, serious look at their projects to determine whether they should be preserved during our upcoming conference negotiations."

Second, hire conservative staff. The old saying "personnel is policy" is true. You don't need Beltway strategists and consultants running your office. Find people who share your values and believe in advancing the same policy reforms. Staff who are driven by conservative instincts can protect you from unwanted, outside influences when the pressure is on.The threat worked. Hardly anyone wanted to risk losing earmarks. The Senate voted 82-15 to protect funding for the Bridge to Nowhere.
Third, beware of committees. Committee assignments can be used as bait to make senators compromise on other matters. Rookie senators are often told they must be a member of a particular committee to advance a certain piece of legislation. This may be true in the House, but a senator can legislate on any matter from the Senate floor.
Fourth, don't seek titles. The word "Senator" before your name carries plenty of clout. All senators have the power to object to bad legislation, speak on the floor and offer amendments, regardless of how they are ranked in party hierarchy.
Lastly, don't let your re-election become more important than your job. You've campaigned long and hard for the opportunity to go to Washington and restore freedom in America. People will try to convince you to moderate conservative positions and break campaign promises, all in the name of winning the next race. Resist the temptation to do so. There are worse things than losing an election—like breaking your word to voters.
At your swearing-in ceremony, you will, as all senators do, take an oath to "support and defend the Constitution." Most will fail to keep their oath. Doing these five things will help you maintain a focus on national priorities and be one who does.
Congress will never fix entitlements, simplify the tax code or balance the budget as long as members are more concerned with their own narrow, parochial interests. Time spent securing earmarks and serving personal ambitions is time that should be spent working on big-picture reforms.

When you are in Washington, remember what the voters back home want—less government and more freedom. Millions of people are out of work, the government is going bankrupt and the country is trillions in debt. Americans have watched in disgust as billions of their tax dollars have been wasted on failed jobs plans, bailouts and takeovers. It's up to us to stop the spending spree and make sure we have a government that benefits America instead of being a burden to it.
Tea party Republicans were elected to go to Washington and save the country—not be co-opted by the club. So put on your boxing gloves. The fight begins today.
Mr. DeMint is a Republican senator from South Carolina.  Z: The article's shamefully stolen, in total, from the Wall St. Journal.
Please God, let all politicians read it.
z
