A very nice Muslim who might have to kill his friend?

I just got this email this evening.........from a good friend who lives in Nevada....I've taken out the daughter's name for obvious reasons. What do we do about information like this? The father of this young woman is someone my parents have known for sixty years, he's someone whom I trust implicitly and I've known him all my life. This is the truth:

DO YOU WANT TO HEAR SOMETHING SHOCKING? OUR TWO DAUGHTERS JUST LEFT FOR HOME AFTER A 10 DAY VISIT. (OUR ELDEST) AND HER HUSBAND WORK FOR WASHINGTON STATE AND ONE OF HER CO-WORKERS
IS A YOUNG MUSLIM GUY WHO IS WELL-LIKED AND GETS ALONG WELL WITH EVERYONE. RECENTLY, HE AND (his daughter) WERE TALKING AND HE MENTIONED THAT RIGHT NOW SHE IS HIS FRIEND BUT THAT SOMEDAY HE MAY HAVE TO KILL HER!
HE WASN'T KIDDING. THEY WERE HAVING A SERIOUS DISCUSSION, PROBABLY ABOUT RELIGION.
WHY ARE WE BEING SO POLITICALLY CORRECT? ITS SICKENING!

So, do we just wait for this to happen? Is this a wonderful guy who actually reads the Koran and, though he likes my friend's daughter, knows that the truth of islam is what many of us fear it to be? Most of my readers know I'm NOT of the mind of some of you, that "All Muslims are bad and want us dead!" but this kind of thinking is something we need to be aware of. Be aware for WHAT, I don't know because what can we DO? ...As you all know, Muslims might complain that they're under attack in America, but WE are the ones afraid of voicing our fears and wishing that Muslims would speak out AGAINST the kind of thinking above, that instigated in the Koran, and we are the ones who may only act in response because anything else would be considered "politically incorrect"..... (and even a response is given to CAIR and we're sued or they whine that Americans are so unkind, etc etc.)
What are your thoughts? Surely all muslims don't think like this guy..........But, this stunned me and I thought I'd share it with you. (Imagine how it stunned my friend's daughter?) I don't want this to turn into a muslim-hating comments section, I just wonder if some of you would like to chime in on how many Muslims do you actually think are thinking like this and what do we DO? What are they teaching in the mosques in our neighborhoods? And, by the way, the 'tolerant secularists' will fight horribly regarding this post...."you're generalizing", etc etc...But, when one Christian kills an abortion doctor, they're the first to discredit Christians..........
So, I'm thinking maybe we need to pay more attention to ONE BAD APPLE all the way around, huh?

Sunday Faith Blog; BURNED BISCUITS!?

I got this wonderful email and wanted to share it with you:
"When I was a kid, my mom liked to make breakfast food for dinner every now & then. And I remember one night in particular when she had made breakfast after a long, hard day at work. On that evening so long ago, my mom placed a plate of eggs, sausage and extremely burned biscuits in front of my dad. I remember waiting to see if anyone noticed! Yet all my dad did was reach for his biscuit, smile at my mom and ask me how my day was at school. I don't remember what I told him that night, but I do remember watching him smear butter and jelly on that biscuit and eat every bite!
When I got up from the table that evening, I remember hearing my mom apologize to my dad for burning the biscuits. And I'll never forget what he said: "Honey, I love burned biscuits."
Later that night, I went to kiss Daddy good night and I asked him if he really liked his biscuits burned. He wrapped me in his arms and said, "Your Momma put in a hard day at work today and she's real tired. And besides a little burnt biscuit never hurt anyone!"
You know, life is full of imperfect things.....and imperfect people. I'm not the best at hardly anything, and I forget birthdays and anniversaries just like everyone else.

What I've learned over the years is that learning to accept each others faults - and choosing to celebrate each others differences - is one of the most important keys to creating a healthy, growing, and lasting relationship.
And that's my prayer for you today. That you will learn to take the good, the bad, and the ugly parts of your life and lay them at the feet of God. Because in the end, He's the only One who will be able to give you a relationship where a burnt biscuit isn't a deal-breaker!"

"Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use; it will be measured to you." Luke 6:35-38

Z: And, no...you will NOT find a recipe for burned biscuits at Mac 'n GeeeeeZ BUT, you WILL find an excellent and rather inventive recipe for the perfect roast chicken and chicken stock made all at the same time! Have a wonderful, blessed Sunday....

Could AL GORE go to JAIL?

UPDATE: CHECK THIS OUT...RAINFOREST CLAIMS BY THE UN PROVEN WRONG

You'll all remember how the British scientists had emails going back and forth which showed they had information against global climate change and wouldn't release it.....well, it looks like have skipped out on their fates (of prison time) because there's a law in England that says that doing a crime more than six months ago exonerates you from accusation...
Do you think GORE could
GO TO JAIL? or is it just unethical here in America to lie or not invite the other side to what are supposedly world climate change meetings, meetings whose 'findings' can change drastically our whole economy in a very negative way to propagate incorrect assumptions and agendas, etc etc........? Is it illegal or just unethical to deny the natural variabilities which scientists, including Lord Monckton who'd originally worked with Gore, say might be changing surface temperatures? Why won't Gore DEBATE people from the other side? (see video) When I got the email including the link above, it brought all this up again and, when I heard Obama say something about scientists who ignore "the obvious evidence" of global climate change, it kind of scared me (is he that uninformed or unable to see two sides? I thought the left billed themselves as those with the big open hearts and minds?). Is NOBODY doing any even-handed investigating? WHY NOT?

Obama's statement about the Supreme Court and its latest decision was WRONG.........

.......if you, too, were confused about how he was wrong, READ HERE....it's also another glimpse into the liberal media.

UPDATE: I just saw THIS article critical of the Court's decision. It's informative, too, and I want to be fair and show more on the issue. Do you have any thoughts on this?

The PIMP arrest in Landrieu's office....Not QUITE what you've already heard. Check this out:

Did you all see that story about the "pimp" who, together with a 'prostitute', video taped ACORN employees showing their corrupt actions in several offices, the story which got some federal funding ripped from ACORN? The "pimp", the big city newspapers like the Washington Post REPORTED HERE, had been found in Louisiana Senator Mary Landrieu's office trying to tamper with her phones; it was a terrible charge with jail time associated to it and also made the ACORN stories seem not QUITE so valid since the perp was now arrested for something like breaking and entering. It also got Conservatives who'd backed him quite nervous as you can READ HERE.

I have to admit I, too, was slightly devastated, if one can be 'slightly' devastated. I believed the Post! "How could O'Keefe DO this? He should have KNOWN BETTER! All that good reporting, down the drain...DAYUM!" I was so not a happy camper.

But, not so fast, Z. And not so fast, all the rest of you. (and we should all know better by now) We're hearing now that it's not the truth at all. HERE is the story you MUST READ....that says IT ALL (super blog post, by the way, but you have to scroll down when you open that link to find the piece).

MY POINT IS THIS: I Googled WASHINGTON POST JAMES O'KEEFE and other words in various permutations and never could I find the RETRACTIONS of the Washington Post on the first Yahoo Page (I didn't even bother looking further, I figured it's a retraction, it's a later date than the damning articles, and you'd THINK it would be right there on top! But, no.) HERE is some info on what really happened, by the way, the REAL STORY.

Here is the WASHINGTON POST RETRACTION (I had to find it in 2 conservative blogs): Earlier versions of this story incorrectly reported that James O’Keefe faced charges in an alleged plot to bug the office of Sen. Mary Landrieu. The charges were related to an alleged plot to tamper with a phone system. The headline incorrectly referred to a plot to bug the phone and a caption incorrectly referred to an alleged wiretap scheme.
Wouldn't you think you'd see that right up on top of the Google page, for the sake of TRUTH and HONEST JOURNALISM? Ya, you'd THINK...
(thanks to my friend Hoosier Army Mom for the great information that the first info was wrong!)

z
Beamish has a REBUTTAL to Obama at HIS PLACE...check it out! (but not until you've read and commented on my post below, of course! Let me pull an Obama here "READ MY POST....and don't you DARE disagree with it!" heh)

OBAMA SAYS, SIMON SAYS?.........Am I the ONLY ONE?....

.........or do you, too, find no REACTION to the list of Obama comments to the Republicans in THIS AP ARTICLE during his visit to their meeting? Surely, the Republicans responded? Surely the AP journalist was still there to hear them? Surely we haven't come to "Obama said it...now you have to DO it," have we? And, when he's pushing for ideas Republicans have been all over for years, he acts like they're his ideas....lower taxes, keeping jobs here, spending freezes, etc etc.......

Would most Americans see the news article and wonder why his comments are there but the Republicans' are not, or would most Americans just read his comments and take them on face value, never question their ramifications, and think they sound so nice and wonder, too, why Republicans won't just come on aboard!? The journalist DID say there was a "barbed exchange"...where IS IT? Let's see it. Here's ONE Republican reaction...but notice how AP writes it off with Obama's comment which makes utterly no sense at all?:

"GOP lawmakers pressed the president to pledge to support a line-item veto for spending bills and across-the-board tax cuts. Obama demurred, saying billionaires don't need new tax cuts."

"Billionaire tax cuts?" Um...the GOP asked for line-item veto for spending bills and across-the-board tax cuts. Wouldn't that benefit more than BILLIONAIRES? WHAT?

And, of course, you know the impression Obama tries to make when he says things like BILLIONAIRE TAX CUTS. Most Americans hear that and immediately say "Oh, he's RIGHT! NO WAY!" (Americans have now come to hate billionaires, as you all know...it's not REALLY good to be TOO successful in America, according to the Democrats). He's very cunning, Mr. Obama......knows just the buzz words Americans won't question him on. Very effective.

"SORRY", but sometimes a picture with a few words says it better than anything else...........

Well, okay...Some aren't quite as unhappy as some of US are.........

Chris Matthews: “[Obama] is post-racial by all appearances. You know, I forgot he was black tonight for an hour.”

Howard Fineman (Newsweek): “If presidential leadership were only about giving speeches, the jackhammers would already be at work on Mt. Rushmore.”

Katie Couric
(misquoting another liberal journalist): “[Obama is] better at making us smarter than making us angry.” Soon thereafter, CBS News reported that it’s quick poll revealed 83 percent support for the “proposals made in [Obama’s] speech.”

AND GET THIS: With the way Obama's thugs treated Joe the Plumber, and the way they insulted Palin and her family, with the way they wouldn't allow the Republicans into any discussions regarding the health care bill, the disdain Robert Gibbs so obviously displays for anyone who doesn't totally agree with him and his boss, with the way they've railroaded and been so UNtransparent, how can he say this (From THIS LINK that's full of amazing quotes from him) ?: "I want the Republicans off the sidelines. I want them to work with us to solve problems," Obama said. And then he added: "I don't want an attitude `If Obama loses, then we win.' I mean, that can't be a platform. ... All of us should be rooting for each other." ROOTING FOR EACH OTHER? Wouldn't that be unbelievably nice? How about rooting for Americans and realizing most aren't going for so many of his platforms!? He doesn't do anything which remotely reflects that supposed desire! How I wish that were something we COULD all do.
AND...Imagine if any Republican had said they forgot Obama was black tonight? What do you suppose Matthews MEANT by that? That Obama wasn't hip hopping all over the dais, or he had on a nice clean suit or didn't talk Ebonics? I mean, is it a 'compliment' to say one forgot a black man is black? Isn't that INSULTING AS HELL?

TWO Americans are not PC enough to back down? Are things changing?

Animal Rights groups are angry at U.S. figure skater Johnny Weir for having a little fox fur on his skating outfit. He took in their comments and told them HIS THOUGHTS., one of which is: “I tend to focus my energy, if there is a cause, on humans. While that may be callous and bad of me, it’s my choice.”
While nobody at geeeeeZ advocates cruelty to animals, and the blog owner actually loves animals, I think Weir got it right when he reminded the groups that “Every skater is wearing skates made out of cow...”
The animal groups can whine and complain all they want, we Conservatives honor and respect that, but FINALLY, somebody in the limelight who demanded HIS truth be listened to, as well, and didn't back down. We respect THAT, too.
Kudos, Johnny Weir.

THEN THERE IS THIS, EVEN MORE IMPORTANT STORY FROM JUST N. OF LOS ANGELES!
This councilman said he was a "PROUD RACIST" and he's not backing down BECAUSE, his actual comment was "If believing in America causes people to think he's a racist, "then I'm a proud racist." Here's THE STORY............you'll want to see what's going on. This guy's holding to his statement and you'll see why.

Gosh..maybe something's happening...maybe we can get to where people can actually say what they think in this country without intimidation ....ya THINK?

THE OBAMA MIS-STATE OF THE UNION?

What did you guys think of the speech?
I was out this evening so I'm off to watch it now. A friend said he went back to blaming Bush at the end...can it BE?
And another told me that he accosted the SUPREME COURT OF THIS COUNTRY for their last decision regarding campaign finance. That's presidential, huh? :-)

Tell me a part that REALLY BUGGED YOU the most...........if you can narrow it down.
I'm off to my TV. And some wine. Think I'll need it?
By the way, I just saw on the Yahoo homepage that Obama says he "won't quit".... Man, I hadn't even hoped that high! :-)

HAITI: Anderson Cooper and Geraldo got in before rescue SUPPLIES?

I just got this email from a friend and didn't even ask if I could publish it. I am not using the writer's name but he's obviously someone who flew from here to Haiti to be of assistance. I did nothing but clean up some spelling, etc...as I believe this was typed in haste and anger. This is eye opening, horrifying, disgusting, and, maybe it's only his point of view, but it sure should be READ:

To All,

I just returned from Haiti with (name withheld by Z). We flew in at 3 AM Sunday to the scene of such incredible destruction on one side, and enormous ineptitude and criminal neglect on the other.

Port au Prince is in ruins. The rest of the country is fairly intact. Our team was a rescue team and we carried special equipment that locates people buried under the rubble. There are easily 200,000 dead, the city smells like a charnel house. The bloody UN was there for 5 years doing apparently nothing but wasting US Taxpayers money. The ones I ran into were either incompetent or outright anti american. Most are French or french speakers, worthless every damn one of them. While 18oo rescuers were ready willing and able to leave the airport and go do our jobs, the UN and USAID ( another organization full of little OBamites and communists that openly speak against America) These two organizations exemplified their parochialism by:

USAID, when in control of all inbound flights, had food and water flights stacked up all the way to Miami, yet allowed Geraldo Rivera, Anderson Cooper and a host of other left wing news puppies to land.

Pulled all the security off the rescue teams so that Bill Clinton and his wife could have the grand tour, whilst we sat unable to get to people trapped in the rubble.

Stacked enough food and water for the relief over at the side of the airfield then put a guard on it while we dehydrated and wouldn't release a drop of it to the rescuers.

No shower facilities to decontaminate after digging or moving corpses all day, except for the FEMA teams who brought their own shower and decon equipment, as well as air conditioned tents.

No latrine facilities, less digging a hole if you set up a shitter everyone was trying to use it.

I watched a 25 year old Obamite with the USAID shrieking hysterically, berate a full bird colonel in the air force, because he countermanded her orders, whilst trying to unscrew the air pattern. " You dont know what your president wants! The military isnt in charge here we are!"

If any of you are thinking of giving money to the Haitian relief, or to the UN don't waste your money. It will only go to further the goals of the French and the Liberal left.

If we are a fair and even society, why is it that only white couples are adopting haitian orphans. Where the hell is that vocal minority that is always screaming about the injustice of American society.

Bad place, bad situation, but a perfect look at the new world order in action. New Orleans magnified a thousand times. Haiti doesn't need democracy, what Haiti needs is Papa Doc. That's not just my opinion , that is what virtually every Haitian we talked with said. the French run the UN treat us the same as when we were a colony, at least Papa Doc ran the country.

Oh, and as a last slap in the face the last four of us had to take US AIRWAYs home from Phoenix. They slapped me with a 590 dollar baggage charge for the four of us. The girl at the counter was almost in tears because she couldn't give us a discount or she would lose her job. Pass that on to the flying public.

Z: Well, it looks like Rush Limbaugh might be right after all....how terribly sad is THAT? From the guy's choice of words, I think he might be a Brit who lives in America...... And, of course, Liberals will overlook the really damning stuff he's written here and focus on what THEY think's wrong with it, but that's expected. How awful that this is the impression someone has; And, we're being told all the rescue efforts are right in line....the people are getting what they need. Sure, after the elitists get theirs. I'm no one to deny rescuers food and water because they NEED that to continue their work, but this account of the media coming first and the administration insulting military in charge and celebrity politicians coming before the people is sickening. And, what about Katrina? It was a TERRIBLE situation and Bush got NO free pass, did he. (by the way, the photo above IS Katrina....to make a point) By the way, it's fascinating that, at the end of that linked article, it mentions a Haitian Diplomat who blames this catastrophe on "witchcraft"...hmmmm

Chemical Ali wasn't really SUCH a bad guy??

Chemical Ali was buried today.
Agence France Presse has THIS ARTICLE, three-quarters of which pretty much has his home town pals saying what a good guy and that "He was one of Ouja's most remarkable men," said Abu Shehab, a 45-year-old man who insisted that Ali Hassan al-Majid, better known by his macabre nickname, had been hanged to appease Iran and the United States.

The article then goes on to say "Probably the most notorious of these was the gassing of around 5,000 Kurds in the northern town of Halabja in March 1988, for which he received his fourth death sentence earlier this month." Um. Maybe he was responsible for 5,000 in Halabja, but Agence France Presse forgot to mention that many think Chemical Ali was responsible for the death of 300,000 Kurds. HERE is another article saying 180,000 Kurds were killed. And, of course, there's this: "His crimes, however, did not dilute the adulation of Saddam and Majid loyalists in Ouja, where both men were born in poverty before the fall of the Iraqi monarchy and bloodletting in later years took them to power." Ah, they were poor.......can ya BLAME them for killing thousands of people? :-)

And, of course, Yahoo carries the article and people read it and believe it, and you'd have thought facts might be just a tad more important than downplaying a murdering Iraqi's past. Just a thought, Yahoo. I'm talking INFERENCE here....see the inferences? But, of course, there's finally this: "Aras Abed, vice president of the association of Halabja victims who lost 12 family members, said he was "swimming in happiness." That's the verrrrry last line in the piece, if you read that far.

As a blog aside, there's a new recipe at Mac 'n GeeeeeZ that you might want to try...it is DElicious :-) Now PLEASE read the letter below...z

Harold Estes writes to President Obama

Some of you might have seen this already but I can't have a blog and not post it on it...so, here goes:

Dear President Obama,

My name is Harold Estes (read more about this HERE), approaching 95 on December 13 of this year. People meeting me for the first time don't believe my age because I remain wrinkle free and pretty much mentally alert.

I enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1934 and served proudly before, during and after WW II retiring as a Master Chief Bos'n Mate. Now I live in a "rest home" located on the western end of Pearl Harbor, allowing me to keep alive the memories of 23 years of service to my country.

One of the benefits of my age, perhaps the only one, is to speak my mind, blunt and direct even to the head man. So here goes.

I am amazed, angry and determined not to see my country die before I do, but you seem hell bent not to grant me that wish. I can't figure out what country you are the president of.

You fly around the world telling our friends and enemies despicable lies like: "We're no longer a Christian nation" "America is arrogant" -- (Your wife even announced to the world, "America is mean- spirited." Please tell her to try preaching that nonsense to 23 generations of our war dead buried all over the globe who died for no other reason than to free a whole lot of strangers from tyranny and hopelessness.)

I'd say shame on the both of you, but I don’t think you like America, nor do I see an ounce of gratefulness in anything you do, for the obvious gifts this country has given you. To be without shame or gratefulness is a dangerous thing for a man sitting in the White House.

After 9/11 you said, "America hasn’t lived up to her ideals."Which ones did you mean? Was it the notion of personal liberty that 11,000 farmers and shopkeepers died for to win independence from the British? Or maybe the ideal that no man should be a slave to another man, that 500,000 men died for in the Civil War? I hope you didn't mean the ideal 470,000 fathers, brothers, husbands, and a lot of fellas I knew personally died for in WWII, because we felt real strongly about not letting any nation push us around, because we stand for freedom.

I don't think you mean the ideal that says equality is better than discrimination. You know the one that a whole lot of white people understood when they helped to get you elected.

Take a little advice from a very old geezer, young man.

Shape up and start acting like an American. If you don't, I'll do what I can to see you get shipped out of that fancy rental on Pennsylvania Avenue. You were elected to lead not to bow, apologize and kiss the hands of murderers and corrupt leaders who still treat their people like slaves.

And just who do you think you are telling the American people not to jump to conclusions and condemn that Muslim major who killed 13 of his fellow soldiers and wounded dozens more. You mean you don’t want us to do what you did when that white cop used force to subdue that black college professor in Massachusetts, who was putting up a fight? You don’t mind offending the police calling them stupid but you don’t want us to offend Muslim fanatics by calling them what they are, terrorists.

One more thing. I realize you never served in the military and never had to defend your country with your life, but you're the Commander-in-Chief now, son. Do your job. When your battle-hardened field General asks you for 40,000 more troops to complete the mission, give them to him. But if you're not in this fight to win, then get out. The life of one American soldier is not worth the best political strategy you're thinking of.

You could be our greatest president because you face the greatest challenge ever presented to any president.

You're not going to restore American greatness by bringing back our bloated economy. That's not our greatest threat. Losing the heart and soul of who we are as Americans is our big fight now.

And I sure as hell don't want to think my president is the enemy in this final battle.

Sincerely,
Harold B. Estes (Z: I'm not sure America can last without people like this)

You don't have to be a musician to find this funny.......

.....but it helps! I know some of my readers fit that bill (pardon the pun!)... Enjoy!:

You know you're too old to play gigs when:

1. It becomes more important to find a place on stage for your fan than your amp
2. Your gig clothes make you look like George Burns out for a round of golf.
3. All your fans leave by 9:30 p.m.
4. All you want from groupies is a foot massage and back rub
5. You love taking the elevator because you can sing along with most of your playlist
6. Instead of a fifth member, your band wants to spring for a roadie
7. You lost the directions to the gig
8. You need your glasses to see the amp settings
9. You've thrown out your back jumping off the stage
10. You feel like hell before the gig even starts.
11. The waitress is your daughter
12. You stop the set because your ibuprofen fell behind the speakers
13. Most of your crowd just sways in their seats
14. You find your drink tokens from last month's gig in your guitar case
15. You refuse to play without earplugs
16. You ask the club owner if you can start at 8:30 instead of 9:30
17. You check the TV schedule before booking a gig
18. Your gig stool has a back
19. You're related to at least one member in the band
20. You don't let any one sit in
21. You need a nap before the gig
22. After the third set, you bug the club owner to let you quit early.
23. During the breaks, you now go to the van to lay down
24. You prefer a music stand with a light
25. You don't recover until Tuesday afternoon
26. You hope the host's speech lasts forever.....
27. You buy=2 0amps considering their weight and not their tone or cool factor.
28. Feeling guilty looking at hot women at the bar 'cause they're younger than your daughter.
29. You can remember seven different club names for the same location ...
30. You have a hazy memory of the days when you could work 10 gigs in 7 days and could physically do it.
Aren't those GREAT? :-) I'd like to add I played for the Fifth Dimension at a private party when I was very young and my band set my piano bench on ROCKS in a rock garden; you haven't lived till you're balancing yourself and playing and your mgr asks YOU to sing "Up Up And Away" for the FIFTH DIMENSION (I told him to that would be like asking me to sing PEOPLE for Streisand and told him NO!) I also once took an acoustic piano to a gig and was in the back of a pick up truck with a friend holding it still so it wouldn't go TOO far out of tune....Oh, the younger days!!! Got any stories like that, musician pals?
(Z: and yes, posting this was also a real good excuse to have a picture of one of my favorites, Leon Russell, on the blog)

Is it cold out there and you want something warm and satisfying? Try the SHORT RIBS recipe at Mac 'n GeeeeeZ! (shameless plug:-)

Smart WHITE kids.... No more extra classes BECAUSE they're white!?

And we think America's going to SURVIVE let alone THRIVE anymore?
Read THIS and please tell me what you think............In italics below, there's an excerpt from the linked article...read this and weep:

Campus leadership has proposed cutting before- and after-school labs -- decreasing science instruction by 20% to 40% -- and using that money to fund "equity" programs for struggling students in an effort to close one of the widest racial and ethnic achievement gaps in the state.

I couldn't read the whole article, it's too upsetting. Sure, we don't need to promote and help OVER ACHIEVERS anymore in AMERICA! Anyway, why bother, these are science classes; there will be no money for research soon anyhow, especially in the area of health/medicine. And, of course, we don't want to succeed TOO well because we won't be able to reap the benefits of that anyway, right? Not if leftwingers get their way and everyone's money is redistributed. But, heck, who's going to know how to do the math for redistribution?!

Here's the good part, liberal Berkeley's science students are THINKING TWICE about this silly political correctness........heck, this could be a GOOD THING after all!

Scott Brown won the CHARLES SUMNER seat in Massachusetts.........

I got this email and wanted to share it with you all.........makes me proud:

As the new senator from Massachusetts, Scott Brown, said: "It's not the Ted Kennedy seat. It's not the Democrat seat. It's the people's seat."
Instead of Ted, let's remember an honorable and courageous Republican senator who once filled the seat to which Scott Brown was elected.
Senator Charles Sumner (R-MA) was one of the founders of the Republican Party. Angered by Sumner's denunciations of slavery, a Democrat congressm
an beat him nearly to death on the floor of the U.S. Senate. Sumner responded with a classic denunciation of the Democratic Party for promoting The Barbarism of Slavery.
During the GOP's 1860 election campaign, Senator Sumner gave a speech that speaks to us today:
"If ever there was a moment when every faculty should be bent to the service, and all invigorated by an inspiring zeal, it is now, while the battle between Civilization and Barbarism is still undecided.
Happily, a political party is at hand whose purpose is to combine and direct all generous energies for the salvation of the country. The work must be done, and there is no other organization by which it can be done. A party with such an origin and such a necessity cannot be for a day, or for this election only.
If bad men conspire for slavery, good men must combine for freedom. And when this triumph is won, securing the immediate object of our organization, the Republican Party will not die, but, purified by long contest with slavery, and filled with higher life, it will be lifted to yet other efforts for the good of man.
Others may dwell on the past as secure; but to my mind, under the laws of a beneficent God, the future also is secure, on the single condition that we press forward in the work with heart and soul, forgetting self, turning from all temptations of the hour, and, intent only on the cause."
The day he died, Charles Sumner urged Republicans to stay true to the principles of our Grand Old Party: "My bill, the civil rights bill - don't let it fail." The Republican-controlled 43rd Congress honored his memory by passing the 1875 Civil Rights Act.

Sunday Faith Blog

See what remained standing among the ruins in Port au Prince?
Let's pray that the Haitians are also standing tall after all of this and that their faith grows and that, somehow, changes are made in their leadership to where they actually start to see prosperity in their country.

Goodbye, Jean Simmons...I was a fan. Rest in peace.

Blackwater ain't over yet, folks.........Biden bows to Iraq

I can't comment on this because my blog would be shut down for indecency. Do you ever feel like crying or breaking something (for you men who might not cry as much as I do!) when you read stuff like THIS?

Also, please check out the Mort Zuckerman article below....it's excellent.

Obama loses a Liberal and why..........

Our friend and blogger Opus #6 found THIS EXCELLENT ARTICLE by Liberal Mort Zuckerman on why he's disappointed in Obama. I think it's worth reading. It's reasoned, unemotional, factual and fascinating. I PROMISE you won't be sorry. (thanks, Opus, great find)

Afghans are running for their Bibles now?

MK, our friend and excellent blogger from Australia, has THIS to say about American rifles and Bible scripture on them.
My question about this situation is this..........Which of America's muslim enemies will ever SEE the rifle sights in order to be offended by them?...AND, if they do somehow see one, do Afghan Muslims figure out the code and then run to their Christian Bibles to see what that particular scripture says and then get offended by it? But, we're taking OFF the codes JUST IN CASE??
Are we NUTS? Now, I'm not arguing here whether a Biblical code SHOULD be on rifle sights but the fact that our military thinks that my above-mentioned scenario could happen scares me....does it YOU? geeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeZ!!
Beamish adds this excellent comment on HIS blog piece about this situation : We're emboldening an enemy to... get shot by "Jesus rifles" instead of say, blowing themselves up in a crowd of schoolchildren for Allah?

I met Michael Steele tonight.......

Some of us don't like everything Michael Steele's said or done but that man is charisma walking and I was very pleased to shake his hand and have a short chat. He was very warm and friendly.
I also spoke with Kelsey Grammar, which was great because he's one of the least stuffy, uptight, conceited actors I've ever met. Michael Steele can energize a crowd, let me tell you.

Mass. union voters need to be ASKED TO VOTE??

Massachusetts unions are saying they'd have voted for Coakley if only they'd been ASKED. If this is yet another leftwinger media's report trying to show Brown really wasn't popular, doesn't that backfire on the leftwingers?
Don't union voters THINK? Are they just puppets that vote WHEN ASKED and VOTE THE WAY THEY ARE TOLD? OR, does this imply they need PAYMENT to get their people out and the Dems were too late in their payments? No ticky, no laundry with a union?

From the link below:
"Union members can't be taken for granted," said a labor source who confirmed the statistics. And in Massachusetts, "we weren't called in to the emergency till the end." Don't they have TELEVISION in their homes? Newspapers? Didn't they know the left depends on the union vote?

What do you think of THIS article's information? I found it very, very odd.

WE ADVISE, YOU DECIDE :-) Ducky, did you see this?

TSA nominee Erroll Southers has STEPPED DOWN as WE ADVISED.

Ducky argued in comments here that it was silly to think that terrorists don't have all the information TV journalists are exposing on the air; many of us thought that was crazy and there are things we shouldn't be discussing. So, there's THIS:
I can't find the post, but I had done one on how
our media's giving terrorists information like "don't get a one-way ticket, don't come without luggage..", etc. WE ADVISED that those things are better not said. Some commenters believed that was silly. This week, Dennis Blair, Director of National Intelligence, said in Senate Hearings that people who give that kind of information out "should shut the hell UP." I wish I could find the link...I've looked and looked. But, I heard it. Twice.
Just wanted this information for the record. See how smart most ofGeeeee
Z's commenters are? :-) z

Another liberal and another cheapening of LIFE

I'm going to get some of you upset........humor me, I've had this on my mind for some time:

Big news! Elizabeth Edwards is 'relieved' that her husband, John Edwards, has finally announced "This child is mine." Aren't you all relieved, too? Hardly. Who cares? Except that this story is just another in a chain of stories of liberals demeaning LIFE, the preciousness of sweet new babies, parenthood, the beauty of two-parent families, happy marriages, etc etc etc. How many more stories like this do our teens have to hear before they stop believing in the sanctity of life? Follow me here...............

Then, we have Jerry Springer who promotes shows with themes like "Ma Sistuh is datin' mah Fathuh" (I got the accent right off the video...check THIS OUT), and "I had sex with your Mama!" (oh, how PROUD you are!...not a little sarcasm here on my part)....the link has any amount of sickening videos...such "GREAT ENTERTAINMENT!" (more sarcasm) Now, liberals have said to me "But, this is REAL LIFE, this is what's going on!" My answer is, "Why revere it, give it air on TV...and, oh, by the way?.... I KNOW NO ONE LIKE THIS...AND HAVE NEVER KNOWN ANYONE LIKE THIS." You'll hear liberals say "But IT SELLS!" I say "It SELLS because this is FREAKSVILLE!" They come back with "It's REAL LIFE!"

In my opinion, ART (TV, media, newspaper stories, etc.) has begun to dictate LIFE and it should stop. Liberal opinions of single mothers, etc., has given PERMISSION to people who celebrate things unhealthy for society today. Can anybody not point to the FACT that there are FAR FAR more children born to single mothers today than before? WHY? Before, it was SHAMEFUL (yes, I have the guts to say it if some others won't...I LIKE the word SHAME and feel America did a lot better when the left hadn't made the word so forbidden because somebody might get hurt feelings or...gasp!...GUILT!) SHAME, in the long run, helped lives run better...helped people make healthier choices if they look back on what they might have chosen for themselves. Is that an accident? (Jerry Springer's shown on French TV right after High School kids get home....you should hear what people think of it. Aren't you PROUD? And the LEFT wonders why "THEY" hate us?...REALLY??)

MAURY POVICH apparently still has a show (I'd seen it a few times years ago and just Googled and there it is..still running)....The MAURY STORE has infant outfits that say "I MET MY DADDY" and grown up T Shirts that say "I AM NOT the Father" .........would you be PROUD to wear one? (yes, I'm kidding) I watched a few Maury shows a few years ago to see what he does...it was DNA test after DNA test, daily......then, every day, revealing WHO THE FATHER WAS! As if this poor child is a BASKETBALL to be thrown around and OH, the GLEE in those punk faces when it WASN'T THEIRS! "IT?" And there sat the 15 yr old mother, crying............and will go home and raise that child. And we wonder why America has problems?

Seen the HIGH SCHOOL REUNION show teaser on TV ads every few minutes?..... REAL PEOPLE necking, the girl wrapped around the guy's swim-suited body in a pool ...aren't you embarrassed to be watching when you know these aren't actors? ick. (These are shows that Conservatives produce? (ya, right)
Then, watch HGTV and see "Ben and Gina are looking for their FIRST HOME TOGETHER...." Of course, Ben and Gina are single, but what the heck, we're getting USED TO HEARING THIS...we're becoming INURED TO IT...drip drip drip.....it goes into MY brain, your brain, our kids' brains.

What's going on? See, we can't complain because we'll hear "But that's REAL LIFE...WHY NOT show it?" or "WHAT are you, in the DARK AGES? Get a clue!" or "What a PRUDE....teach your kids right and this stuff won't affect them!" (Won't affect them? I thought you said it's COOL?)

Is Liberalism as responsible as I think it is? You tell me. Do I think all Conservatives live uplifting lives of values which promote healthy and happy children? (no, but the numbers of Conservatives doing that is higher). Oh, another liberal harangue to my criticism is "Who am I to say Conservative values are better?" I'm nobody. I just look at the facts and extrapolate. And, of course, "who am I to say what MORAL IS?" Right? Can we survive as a country with no definition of MORALITY? Oh, I forgot....some leftwingers believe the only MORALITY is NEVER GOING TO WAR. well...but I'm trying to make a point here, so let's not go there. ***

Your prudish, priggish little friend, Z, is throwing this out for conversation............What are your thoughts? *** The ABSOLUT VODKA ad is from THIS BLOG. I had no use for the Harry Reid allusion and didn't notice it until I published it here, frankly...I just liked ABSOLUT AMORALITY for my post. Wanted to give credit where credit's due on the image.

See Your World..........REALLY see it

This was written by my dear friend Ray. You won't want to miss it....it's information all Americans should WAKE UP to:

FRUSTRATION is realizing that someone's hard earned money is paying for me to attend a left wing madrassa.

I'm taking an English 102 course and I'm thinking it's about writing the long essay. NOPE. It's about making sure I'm sensitive. The school has adopted a theme called SEE your world.

SEE Your World stands for:
Social
Hunger, poverty, education, disease and health, HIV/Aids, children's health, maternal health, gender equality, war and peace
Environmental
Forests, water quality, sanitation, water availability, bio-diversity, carbon-dioxide emissions, energy use, waste, biotechnology, agriculture, land
Economic
Employment, trade issues, debt, market-access, manufacturing, poverty
Through the SEE Your World theme, the learning outcomes we hope to help students achieve are the following:
Understand and appreciate the complex and diverse identities around the world
Acquire interdisciplinary knowledge of the world's social, environmental and economic problems
Develop a heightened sense of global interconnections and interdependence
Explore the historical legacies that have created the dynamics and tensions in the world
Learn how to engage in deliberative dialog about global issues, even when there might be a clash of views
Engage in actions to sustain and preserve communities and the environment for future generations
These areas of focus are drawn from Kevin Hovland of AAC&U and author of Shared Futures: Global Learning and Social Responsibility and from Caryn McTighe Musil of AAC&U and author of Assessing Global Learning: Matching Good Intentions with Good Practice.

It's not hard to determine that the free market and other past 'sins' of our country will no doubt be blamed for many of these issues.

In my ENGLISH class I'm required to attend a Poverty Simulation event, in addition to the following: (these are but a few, I haven't pasted in the full list, there are one or two that are not on class nights so they are recommended vice required)

See Your World Event -- Liberation Theology: Origins, Analysis and Stories of Personal Experience 4:30pm-5:45pm, SC 140-144

SEE Your World Event -- Attend and Report to Class at 9:15pm
Poverty 101, 7:00pm-9:00pm, SC 140-144

SEE Your World Event -- Attend then Report to Class at 8:45pm
History of Haiti: Colonialism, Imperialism and Today7:00-8:30pm SC 140-144

this is an article Why My Race Matters that I have to respond to for my first essay.

Certainly I want to be sensitive to those in need and I am, but why in an English class? a sociology course....I could certainly understand.

Thank God I'm also taking a math class. One can only hope they haven't figured out a way to screw with numbers.

Gee, Ray...could it be AGENDA? :-)

RELIGION, Wikipedia, Scott Brown and Sarah Palin

I did a Wikipedia check on SCOTT BROWN just to look into some information I didn't know about him. There was a subtitle down near the end which said RELIGION and it talked about his Protestant church and how his family's also connected with a Catholic church they have raised money for.

I thought having the religion aspect of a guy whose religion was really never discussed or particularly interesting was weird, so I Wikipedia'd Democrats TED KENNEDY and JOHN KERRY, both known to be devout Catholics, none of which was specifically discussed under a separate subtitle. So, I looked up SARAH PALIN and there was a RELIGION subtitle again. So, I checked JOE LIEBERMAN, the first Jew to run for president, thinking they must have a RELIGION subtitle for him. But, no religion subtitle. I can't think of another politician who's had religion brought up in the public arena, but if you have one you remember, check Wikipedia and see if they have a separate RELIGION subtitle and information there on him. I found it odd that both Palin and Brown do, but not the others.
I know what Wikipedia is........but I thought this was something worth noting....just another oddity that seems like bias in some way.

Beamish's response to Ducky on the Brown election and Conservatism.........

How could I NOT publish this comment as a post?: Enjoy, fellow Conservatives:

What's that quip you always use, Ducky?

Oh yeah.

"Tie a can on it."

This was a victory for conservatism. A triumph over your beloved leftism.

Here we are, one year to the day that Obama was sworn in as President. Obama, the leftist, the candidate ENDORSED by the Communist Party USA in the 2008 election. Your boy.

We'll have none of your cap and trade energy tax. Socialized medicine ain't gonna happen. Big wins for Republicans in the House and Senate this coming November.

And Obama's disapproval ratings in polling are slightly higher numbers than the disapproval ratings of every item on his agenda.

America hates Obama. America hates his agenda.

And, if you're not awake yet, America hates leftism.

A conservative won a US Senate seat in the bluest of blue states.

Not by appealing to moderates, but by being a conservative.

Moderates came to the conservative mountain, not the other way around.

When you burn your low carbon emitting votive candle to your Stalinesque portrait of the Messiah Obama tonight, weep and gnash your teeth.

Reaganism is still alive.

Thanks, Beamish....I didn't even ask if I could do this. I hope you don't mind. Bravo, my friend.
z

Keith Olbermann just can't take it...........

I watched Olbermann last night; he was playing a tape of Scott Brown's speech and I had missed the last ten minutes when it was LIVE, so I settled in to watch on msnbc.........
Suddenly, the speech tape stopped just after Brown introduced his wife and daughters, telling people that one daughter's a pre-med student and the other's a singer who'd appeared on American Idol, and the wife, Gail, is a reporter in the area.. I wondered why they stopped the tape when Olbermann got that puffy kind of 'thing' he does with his mouth when he's just so very annoyed, dontchaknow, and said "....we'll stop here for a break just in case Brown starts sharing family CHOWDER RECIPES." This is an example of why Olbermann's ratings are in the tank.
The dismissive nastiness isn't something Americans like or want anymore. Americans are not, as a nation, quite this mean. Are they?

z

Obama's statements about the SCOTUS during his speech.....were WRONG.........

...if you, too, were confused about this, please READ THIS, it clear it up. And, gives you another insight into the liberal media's obfuscation.

(thanks, Gail)

Pray for the Doctors........

Please pray for four surgeons and the personnel they're taking with them from the LA area to Haiti with the equipment to do 100 surgeries.......The prayer is specifically that they get approval to land. Also, please pray for their safety and that these surgeons and their patients are all blessed by this amazing act of generosity. Thanks so much.

I can't believe this....I am happier than I've been in a very long time! HURRAH!!

Congratulations, Massachusetts.....and Congratulations, America! Senator Scott Brown.......WAY TO GO!

Thanks to blogger FreedomNow for the great graphic...z

Re Mass....It's looking like...........well...I have to get some wine!

Coakley squeaks by?

FOX is reporting polls show Coakley barely getting by.... but getting by.
Please keep up the prayers and please make sure everybody you KNOW in Mass. has voted... they have another hour. This will be a very powerful message to the Liberals even if Brown loses because it's so close, but we'll be saddled with this health care bill and, while some Republicans think its passing and implementation will be the end of the Left when people get a whiff of what it really is, it'll still be there and I'd like input from anybody who might know how it can get UNenacted once congress turns around in 2010 (hopefully?)
Would that the Democrats had really included the Republicans in the health care planning....

Now, go watch that video below....it'll cheer you up, I promise. z

What happens to the woman at the end is what happened to me............

..........when I saw this video. It's wonderful. A nice, happy way to spend some time and have it stay with you throughout the day....as we wait for the Massachusetts results!
z

VOTE FOR SCOTT BROWN, MASS. VOTERS

PLEASE VOTE FOR SCOTT BROWN...............IT'S SO VERY IMPORTANT. CALL YOUR MASSACHUSETTS FRIENDS, SEND EMAILS......Massachusetts will do better with him; America will do much better with him in the senate. (Pray, guys, pray hard)

Clinton on HAITI aid...........

Bill Clinton is standing up to criticism that aid isn't getting to Haiti fast enough. I'm wondering if what he said here in italics isn't a little ironic?"No, I don't think they were slow coming in," Clinton told AFP as he walked down the hospital hallways cluttered with injured survivors. "The infrastructure broke down (as a result of the earthquake), and that's what we're building up."

The infrastructure in those areas most affected wasn't in too good shape as a result of the Katrina flooding, either, as most of us remember it. I'm not posting this to argue Katrina again; most people who blame Bush for so much are as eager to hear the other side of that one as they are to hear the other side of global climate change. I see a pattern here. Photos: Katrina.

A DIET question .....

.....on Mac 'n GeeeeeZ today....got any input?

Bullock got a D for her dress...Halle got an A+; You agree?

Don't you just love a good HYPOCRITE?

No HYPOCRISY HERE, right? :-)

I can protect MY HOME, but you can't protect YOUR HOME......because YOU shouldn't have a GUN. Leftwing Senators can handle them, but don't let ordinary Americans protect THEIR property!
Most of the accounts of this story say that this guy's name is R.C. Soles and he's a Senator from North Carolina..........but, they don't say "Democratic Senator from North Carolina, R.C. Soles shot and hurt an intruder today....."

Well...I'm sure that, had it been a Republican, they'd not identify his party in the early parts of the article, either (ya, right)
By the way...my gun friends tell me ammunition's hard to get and prices have gone sky high. I guess that this gov't might not be able to get us unarmed but they SURE can get us un-ammo'd, huh?

Sunday Faith Blog

"Hurt people hurt people"

Apparently, this phrase isn't unknown because I just Googled it and there are books and articles with that title, but I had never heard this concept put quite in this clever way and a friend mentioned it yesterday and I thought it was profound and cleverly put. We all know that hurt people hurt people, but I think it helps to remember it. Very hurt people can have trouble being kind, open, respectful, and turn to sarcasm or belittlement. Because THEY are hurt. I believe it's a cycle that recognition and FAITH can help.

"But if we walk in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin." 1 John: 7. Worth thinking about, no?

Have a wonderful Sunday. Walk in the light.......... z

If you know ANY voter in Massachusetts...............

UPDATE of 11:44 AM PST: OBAMA IS GOING TO MASSACHUSETTS TO CAMPAIGN FOR COAKLEY. You go ahead, Mr Obama...reach out to the ones who love you, the ones who wouldn't vote for a Republican if their health care depended on it. oops. :0-)

.........PLEASE remind them the Republican's ahead today and there aren't many days to go.
From the link:

"(the recent poll) signaled a possible death knell for the 60-vote Democratic supermajority the president has been relying upon to stop Republican filibusters in the Senate and pass not only his health care overhaul, but the rest of his legislative agenda heading into this fall's mid-term elections.

Brown has pledged to vote against the health care bill, and his election would give Senate Republicans the 41st vote they need to sustain a filibuster."

CALL or EMAIL all those you know in that State...tell your Massachusetts Conservative friends, or those liberals who (as I've been hearing more and more and more) do NOT want this health bill as it's shaping up, to VOTE FOR SCOTT BROWN. Please get busy! Thanks.

Take CHRISTMAS out of textbooks?

The Board of Education's fighting about leaving CHRISTMAS in American textbooks and about mentioning Christopher Columbus less than Mary Kay Ash, the founder of Mary Kay Cosmetics.
Are we NUTS? HERE is the link.
Get THIS....."But, as usual in votes before the conservative-led board, the wide-reaching guidelines are full of potential ideological flashpoints." Why is it that it's only Conservatives that the Associated Press find "ideological"? I'm starting to wonder if IDEOLOGICAL hasn't come to mean FULL OF VALUE, TRUE, WORTH CONSIDERATION.

More from the article: "Early quibbles over how much prominence to give civil rights leaders such as Thurgood Marshall, and the inclusion of Christmas seem to have been smoothed over in the draft now being considered. Board Chairman Gail Lowe said Wednesday that Christmas and activist Cesar Chavez will not be removed from the standards."
Why should either be removed from the 'standards'? CHRISTMAS? Cesar Chavez? Picture this: Someone suggests not including RAMADAN in textbooks! IMAGINE THE OUTCRY!? :-)

Then, there's THIS: "An education without some understanding of the profound role of religion in our nation's history and its contributions to our nation's success is an incomplete education and our courts have often said as much," said Derek Davis, director of the Center for Religious Liberty at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor."What violates the Constitution is presenting material that either prefers Christianity over other faiths or depicts the United States as a Christian nation in some legal or constitutional sense. Doing so would infringe on the religious liberties of students across Texas, said Davis, who is also dean of the College of Humanities at the school." Have we gone THIS FAR in our country that mentioning CHRISTMAS or teaching our kids how pivotal Christianity was to our founding fathers is "infringing on their religious liberties?" This, when California kids spend 3 days studying Islam, fasting, praying on rugs, and Christianity's covered for 1 day?

Here's the exact quote on the Columbus v Mary Kay Cosmetics situation..."He'll also ask the board to reconsider mentioning makeup entrepreneur Mary Kay Ash, of Addison, Texas, more often than Christopher Columbus in the curriculum standard. At present Ash is mentioned twice; Columbus once."

I wonder if the leftists will try to get Mary Kay out ALTOGETHER since she's the perfect example of their dreaded CAPITALISM? I don't know why the left would have a problem with using the name COLUMBUS, they can always include their opinion that he did nothing but rape and pillage, right?

I rest my case. We are nuts. Z
