A Storm in a Tea Cup?

So, we've got lots of Tea Party candidates winning...HURRAH!! But, REALLY? Hurrah?
These are people who probably can't win in November. I can't stand moderate Republicans but I'd rather have a moderate Republican than a Democrat. We had Republicans voting for Obama or not voting at all "just to teach the GOP a good lesson!" and then we lost everything....maybe even our country.

So, you start to wonder; As much as I support most everything the Tea Partiers support; and while I know with certainty they're not racists as the silly left suggested and got nowhere with their accusations, and I feel that the Tea Party people have great values and want this country to prosper and for their children to get ahead...while all of that's great, I'm starting to wonder what's happened...........AND, I'm wondering if the Republicans, the GOP, will back these people. In my opinion, they kind of HAVE to, but will they do it big enough to beat the Dems? Or, will they pull what so many Conservatives pulled in '08 and not support the Tea Party candidates "to teach the Tea Partiers a good lesson!"? And, is there a 'mad hatter' behind the scenes?

Most of the Tea Party winners who'll be competing in November are backed by Palin who's really ONLY popular among SOME in the Tea Parties..... NOT the majority of the electorate by a long shot. I will say that if we our new candidates fill those tea cups with good, solid Reaganesque platform information and the media is fair and doesn't chip away at them all as it did at Palin, we COULD convince moderate Democrats and many Independents......

BUT........while I'm ALL FOR the platforms and values of very conservative candidates and it's exciting to seem them beat the moderate RINOs, is this REALLY a good thing? CAN we win in November with Palin candidates? And have we handed the Democrats their OCTOBER SURPRISE that'll get THEM reelected?

Just wondering......... Give me your best shots, I can take it! Give me some optimism here!

The Media's covering the Tea Parties!

CNN's Larry King had a discussion regarding the Tea Party and accusations of RACISM last night. He had two people who believe there is racism and two people who do not. I don't usually watch King anymore but it caught my attention and I'm glad I didn't change the channel because it did provide a laugh....here's what happened (I paraphrase but it's as close as it gets):
Dana Loesch, co-founder of the St. Louis tea party and favorite talk show host of our good buddy and blogger Beamish, was asked by King if she thought the media was biased against the Tea Party. Obviously, she laughed and said every indication was that it is and reminded him that they've barely covered its true size and scope.
Here's where it got hilarious: King's response to her was "But, how can you say the media doesn't cover the Tea Party? They're
GIVING IT PLENTY OF COVERAGE NOW!"
(
now that it's been accused of racism!?...........you have to watch this stuff; it used to bug me but now it's comic relief. And a little pathetic.)

Tea Party v Immigration Protests..."notice any difference?"

Check out the video...did YOU know that, according to the leftwing talk show host, FOX NEWS made people use the "N" word (which wasn't used?!)
Can you IMAGINE what the media would have done had the TPers acted like the protesters in Arizona!? HAA!!
(THANKS, Imp!...always good to see MORE media bias because it wakes Americans up)

Tea Partiers win over Congress.....take a look:

This article is from RASMUSSEN REPORTS....

In official Washington, some consider the Tea Party movement a fringe element in society, but voters across the nation feel closer to the Tea Party movement than they do to Congress.

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 52% of U.S. voters believe the average member of the Tea Party movement has a better understanding of the issues facing America today than the average member of Congress. Only 30% believe that those in Congress have a better understanding of the key issues facing the nation.

When it comes to those issues, 47% think that their own political views are closer to those of the average Tea Party member than to the views of the average member of Congress. On this point, 26% feel closer to Congress.

Finally, 46% of voters say that the average Tea Party member is more ethical than the average member of Congress. Twenty-seven percent (27%) say that the average

As you would expect, there is a wide divide between the Political Class and Mainstream Americans on these questions. Seventy-five percent (75%) of those in the Political Class say that members of Congress are better informed on the issues. Among Mainstream Americans, 68% have the opposite view, and only 16% believe Congress is better informed.

By a 62% to 12% margin, Mainstream Americans say the Tea Party is closer to their views. By a 90% to one percent (1%) margin, the Political Class feels closer to Congress.

“The gap between Americans who want to govern themselves and politicians who want to rule over them may be as big today as the gap between the colonies and England during the 18th century,” Scott Rasmussen, president of Rasmussen Reports, says in his new book, In Search of Self-Governance. “If we had to rely on politicians to fix these problems, the outlook for the nation would be bleak indeed. Fortunately, in America, the politicians aren’t nearly as important as they think they are.”

Earlier polling found that just 16% of voters nationwide consider themselves part of the Tea Party Movement. However, just 11% believe Congress is doing a good or an excellent job. Seventy-six percent (76%) think most members of Congress are more interested in their own careers than in helping people.

On all questions, Republicans overwhelming prefer the Tea Party. Unaffiliated voters also prefer the Tea Party by wide margins, but Congress fares a bit better with unaffiliateds than they do with Republicans. (Z: Oops! Don't tell those unaffiliateds they ARE Republicans for agreeing with so much of the TP movement, they'd hate that, I know that by personal experience!)

Democrats, perhaps not surprisingly since their party currently controls both the House and Senate, are more evenly divided. Forty-five percent (45%) of those in Nancy Pelosi’s party say that their views are closer to the average member of Congress. However, 28% of Democrats say their views are closer to the average member of the Tea Party.

Men are more likely to align with the Tea Party than women, but a plurality of women prefer the Tea Party over Congress on every question in the survey.

If the Tea Party was organized as a political party, 34% of voters would prefer a Democrat in a three-way congressional race. In that hypothetical match-up, the Republican gets 27% of the vote with the Tea Party hopeful in third at 21%. (Z: See the liberal mind? They may poll preferring the TP movement but "OH, MY, if there's an election, I'd vote DEMOCRAT...I GOTTA!" hee hee)

However, if only the Democrat or Republican had a real chance to win, most of the Tea Party supporters would vote for the Republican. (Z: except they also might be the NEW ROSS PEROTs so I look at that stat with a grain of salt)

Fifty-one percent (51%) of Americans had a favorable view of the so-called “tea party” protests just after they were held on Tax Day, April 15, last year. It was those events around the country that gelled into the Tea Party movement, a protest largely against what are viewed as the big government policies of both major political parties.

I hope they do another poll THIS April 15...after THIS year, there's no telling how much higher the numbers will be FOR the TPers...and, don't kid yourselves folks....there are Dems and Indies IN the TP movement, but those stances are PURE REPUBLICAN...but sshhhhh!! Dems don't like to realize they're Republicans and might only finally get down to seeing their true selves in the mirror when they're in the voting booth...I hope)

Mr. Z ; a German's American Patriotism...

You don't have to be American to be true blue American. Some of you probably don't know that Mr. Z wasn't an American citizen. He loved his native Germany, but he loved this country more than many Americans I know. There are reasons he didn't change citizenship....But, here's why I'm writing about him today:

First, a little history: Mr. Z had Amyloidosis, some of you might remember, and died very unexpectedly, last October, not long after diagnosis. I thank God every day that his symptoms hadn't become terribly difficult yet before he died. He was 6'3" and very strong but this disease made him tire easily and he'd started feeling unusually winded when he walked any distance......

When the walking was getting harder for him, our friend and yours, Heidianne from Big Girl Pants blog (on my sidebar), told us she'd be at the West Los Angeles tea party on Wilshire Boulevard at the Federal Building. Mr. Z said "We're going!" I asked him how he could because there'd be a lot of walking involved from the car to the site, but he insisted. And, we went.

We didn't have to walk as far as I'd feared but he did tire after about 40 feet... and stopped. He said "You go ahead, honey, I'll catch up with you." (that's the kind of guy he was) I told him I wasn't moving without him and we'd walk when he felt up to it, of course. Soon, we started to walk again and we were finally in the crowd, surrounded by people carrying flags and signs, people getting petition signatures (as Heidianne was), celebs talking to the crowd, other leaders of the movement talking to us.........lots of red, white and blue, lots of strangers talking to each other, patting each other on the shoulder in agreement, a great feeling of unity.

Mr. Z came to life. At one point, during someone's pep speech about this great nation and our founding fathers and how what's happening now has NOTHING to do with our founder's hopes and dreams, I thought I saw Mr. Z's eyes well up. He was very touched by this crowd. He walked around as if nothing was wrong with him, commenting on how many young people were there, reveling in how many car horns were honking, people inside the cars giving us all the thumbs up...........on WILSHIRE BLVD, the main drag in VERY liberal Los Angeles??? (that, I couldn't believe!) I remember being SO PROUD and thinking "Man, he's not even American and he's loving this event so much!" It was CONTAGIOUS, this great feeling of being with other Americans who shared our feelings of patriotism and anger at this government.

I wish all Americans were as American as my Mr. Z was. America might not have gained a vote from my dear husband, but she sure did gain someone who talked her up every chance he got, comparing her favorably to European and Asian countries he knew so much about, wondering how Americans could fall for the coming socialism Eastern Europeans leave their countries to come to America FOR. Most of you saw his articles here.......how America-loving does it get?

He saw the dwindling opportunities people used to come here for, he saw our selling ourselves to China, he saw entitlements becoming so popular, he saw the great American work ethic which had impressed him so much slipping away in his employees the last few years of his career...I used to chide him for comparing us to the Roman Empire when we discussed the horrid downturn in morality here in this country, but I'd finally stopped that because he was right again.

He's gone now, and you and I've lived through this last Sunday and the passing of the health care bill....I can see from comments here and other blog posts and their comments that most of us are outraged.........but I'm sensing a feeling of deep, deep sadness, too. Even worse, I'm sensing a defeatist attitude, a 'giving in' to what we could be facing because of the Obama administration. But, we're AMERICANS and, if Mr. Z could get excited and happy and encouraged about patriotism and healing this country when HE was so sick, so can WE.

Onward and upward, Americans..........we will show this country what REAL PATRIOTISM is about and we'll fight this bill and fight to get good Conservatives elected in November and in 2012. Stop the pipe dream of waiting for "real conservatives" through a third party...we can't AFFORD THE LUXURY....(yet)..........just vote out the Democrats. Dig deep and send money to the Nevada Senatorial race..........Dig deep and send to the Californians running against BARBARA BOXER.. Dig deep and help any senator or representative you feel should be elected.
Let's save America and try to educate our children to believe in the America Mr. Z loved...heck, he'd be happy if they just KNEW about the America he loved. TEACH them they live in the greatest country in the world.

Teach them for my Mr. Z. And don't any of you give up! You're still kickin'...you've still got what it takes!! DO IT...................for my Mr. Z. But, he'd say "No, not for ME, for America."
God Bless America

Tea Party racists? And Stupak was NEVER going to vote against the bill....did you know that? Here him SAY THAT down below in the video

Tea Partiers apparently shouted the N word at some Black politicians Saturday.
Does that sound like any Tea Partier YOU KNOW? Hint: No.

What's to stop anybody from joining in the huge crowds of Tea Partiers and screaming obscenities at anybody? What's to stop the left from doing that to make the movement look bad?

Here's a quote from the article:
"On Saturday, Frank, however, said he was sorry Republican leaders didn't do more to disown the protesters. "
"Republican leaders?" WHY? Can he absorb the fact that not all Tea Partiers ARE Republicans, or even Conservatives? Some are Democrats who can't stand the big government take over. Some are ...........shhhh...........BLACK!! ("Oh, my GOD!! That means they just CAN'T be Republican, RIGHT?!!" wrong) And, there were many at the only Tea Party I ever went to here in L.A., by the way.

This kind of thing is WRONG, NOBODY should use the N word .... but let's not be Democrats like Frank, jumping in SO EAGERLY to condemn all Republicans. That is ridiculous. And, oh, please, let them find out James Carville put someone up to this. Please..........wouldn't that be rich? But, we'll never find out. The Left always wins....the media's so on their side there's barely an attempt at finding out the truth anymore. By the way, Frank just called Republicans "clowns"...now that is REALLY rich, huh? !!!

And, please, everybody, let's not get into a conversation about the N word being fair game... it isn't at this blog. Thanks.

Then, we have Rep Neugebauer from Texas apologizing for having yelled "Baby Killer" at Stupak when he capitulated. Neugebauer says he said "IT's a baby killer," but, nevertheless....apologies needed again by the Republicans. So....do you think there will be an apology to pro life groups who supported Stupak after they see THIS VIDEO that Beamish brought to our attention in a comment here at GeeeeeZ? (heard about THIS in the media? ya. sure...not)

Harry Reid will now probably win.........almost undoubtably

There's a man in Nevada, Jon Scott Ashjian, who most Nevadan tea party organizers or members didn't know and hadn't heard of and he's declared himself the "TEA PARTY OF NEVADA" CANDIDATE. Except, there seems to be no "Tea Party of Nevada" group.
In about a week, he's taken 22% of the vote from the two other Republican candidates either one of whom could have very possibly defeated Harry Reid in the Senatorial election in Nevada.

Here's a bit from THIS ARTICLE:

"Ashjian admits he has not actively participated in Tea Party movement events, such as the 9/12 Taxpayer March in Washington, D.C. But he said he feels a growing frustration among his fellow Americans about the way elected officials on both sides of the aisle are representing voters, which is why he formed the Tea Party of Nevada in January."

Yup...isn't it just wild that he's suddenly declared himself a candidate using "Tea Party" in his 'party name'? Odd, too, is that he owes $200K in back taxes to the government and has some other questionable things in his past. I wonder if anybody will ever know if that $200,000.00 debt (to us) is ...shall we say... erased?

HERE is another article entitled "Tea Party Candidate Could Siphon GOP Votes in Bid To Remove Harry Reid". Ya, it's very much worth reading, too.
Who's really behind this candidate? OR ANY Tea Party candidate, I'm starting to wonder........? Sure doesn't seem to working for Conservatives.........

P.S....I tried to get an image of Ashjian but can't find any on Google. I Googled Jon Scott Ashjian and found nothing...I Googled just Jon Ashjian and guess whose picture came up? HARRY REID. Keep praying, Harry........you just might ruin this country yet.

OUR Cup of Tea!

We went to the West Los Angeles Tea Party today.........The pictures speak for themselves...BUT, I wanted to add there were approximately 3000 people there (listening to speakers, standing on the sidewalk holding signs facing the cars on the very busy Wilshire Boulevard, and getting petitions signed, etc.......What really amazed us was the HONKING. In one of the more liberal cities in America, there was SO much honking that one young man near me said "Man, I thought the honking was jibes at us but they're giving the high sign, not the 'other sign' out the window!" It was astonishing. AND, (here's the best part..the VERY best part) there were so many young people there, more than I'd have ever imagined. This was all walks of life, this was America at her VERY best! And there was Heidianne from Big Girl Pants Blog (on my sidebar) getting petitions signed! Bravo to Heidianne and her son Jesse! (they're coming over for pizza in ten minutes...wish you could ALL come!) Mr and Mrs Z

That's not true and those aren't tea bags.............don't miss the photo at the bottom

Isn't ANYBODY seeing that picture below and what it SAYS in no words? Please look!! Then read Constantin's great piece!!!

The other day, we saw an article from Germany which was on a par with Keith Olbermann or CNN's Susan Roesgen's "coverage". In fact, Mr. Z says it was probably, originally, a far-left piece in English by an American for THE NATION or something and that some clever German lefty translated it and sold it to his paper as "his". To give you a 'hint' as to what it included, click
HERE for the accompanying photos. (see anything like these at YOUR Tea Party? I didn't think so). So, Heidianne showed it to a student who's staying with her and he, who she'd taken to her Tea Party, had this to say. I think it's worth noting that these are HIS reflections, not Heidianne's:

Oh, my God! This article is simply stupid! With this article, they only wanted to say that the sole reason why the people were at the Tea parties was that they hate Obama.
In addition, it is said that the people don't know what they want.

But, I'm reasonably sure that each individual knew exactly why he or she was there. Each individual wants only the best for himself, for his children, and for his own country. And, the people have found out that Obama is NOT the best for them.

That is why these Tea parties occurred. What I do not understand is why there are such articles against harmless demonstrations? There was no force in play but placards with requests for changes and loud slogans being chanted. I don't know exactly, but I think, for many previous presidents, there were also demonstrations from the opposition.
Did such articles appear then? I don't think so! Therefore, why do so many people try to protect Obama? In my opinion, these are people who are either dumb or they think he will really change something "in the good sense", or they are people who do not know what he plans or what he has already done in terms of damage.

In addition, the article claims that the participants knew no limits and that they were lunatics and hysterical because they presented Obama as Hitler or as a communist. But, again, when I was at the Tea Party, I did not recognize any hysteria. Maybe the Tea party where I was happened to be the only one in 800 parties without hysterical people, but that is rather improbable.

In addition, it is written in the article that all these demonstrations do not represent a threat to Obama. Excuse me, but 800 demonstrations with thousands of people who demonstrate against Obama can't be a threat?

As said before, this article is simply dumb and not usable as a source of real information.

When I heard, the first time, of the elections and the fact that a Black man was a candidate for the position of the presidency, I thought "A Black man, and a young man at that? That sounds like change - a good one!" But, when I came to the United States a few months ago, my eyes were opened. I don't hate Obama and I also think that, if John McCain would have been elected, there would also have been bad changes in the beginning of his term since it takes years for noticeable improvements; But, what this man plans is simply only dumb. This can be seen best because even leading politicians from other countries such as Germany or France mock him. And, I think that says a lot.

Constantin.

Thanks, Constantin...and Heidianne. And Mr. Z, for translating this into English. I know it's not important to some of my readers to know what Europe's seeing and thinking, but I think it is...and I thought this was important. Too bad Germans aren't seeing Constantin's FIRST HAND 'coverage', huh? Too bad more Americans don't feel this way. Too bad so many feel that, suddenly, dissent must be humiliated and squelched.

By the way................
Inauguration Day, Washington DC ...2009 Just a note: Those aren't TEA BAGS.
thanks to Mustang for the photo.

TEA PARTY -- IMPORTANT CAUTION:

from a friend:

Subject: TEA PARTY CAUTION DO NOT SIGN ANYTHING - FROM ANYONE - AT ANY TEA PARTY- ANYWHERE IN THE USA ---- NO EXCEPTIONS! I received the following: "Nearly 1,000 Tea Parties are planned for 4/15/09 and are being organized by conservative grassroots across the nation. Hope you can attend! I was notified by an activist to be cautious about signing any petitions at these events so be careful. Federally-funded ACORN operators will be at all Tea Parties to get signatures, which they will give to Obama, stating that the signatures are in support of his policies." NO MATTER WHAT, DO NOT SIGN ANYTHING! IF YOU HAVE FRIENDS WHO PLAN TO ATTEND, WHO DO NOT HAVE EMAIL, GET ON THE PHONE TO WARN THEM. TRY TO CALL OR EMAIL RADIO TALK SHOWS AND LET THE CAT OUT OF THE BAG.

Z: Huffington Post writers will also be staged throughout many of the parties and they will probably focus on ACORN infiltrators who could be carrying signs which say things they want people to think real Tea Party attendees have written. Be very careful and ask people to leave if there are offensive words anywhere which do not represent the spirit of the Tea Parties; You'll know them when you see them.

Be strong, be resolute and have fun!

Their cups must runneth over.......start sending...

Got this email today and thought I'd pass it on for your good efforts:

There's a storm abrewin'. What happens when good, responsible people keep quiet? Washington has forgotten they work for us. We don't work for them. Throwing good money after bad is NOT the answer. I am sick of the midnight, closed door sessions to come up with a plan. I am sick of Congress raking CEO's over the coals while they, themselves, have defaulted on their taxes. I am sick of the bailed out companies having lavish vacations and retreats on my dollar. I am sick of being told it is MY responsibility to rescue people that, knowingly, bought more house than they could afford. I am sick of being made to feel it is my patriotic duty to pay MORE taxes. I, like all of you, am a responsible citizen. I pay my taxes. I live on a budget and I don't ask someone else to carry the burden for poor decisions I may make. I have emailed my congressmen and senators asking them to NOT vote for the stimulus package as it was written without reading it first. No one listened. They voted for it, pork and all.
O.K. folks, here it is. You may think you are just one voice and what you think won't make a difference. Well, yes it will and YES, WE CAN!! If you are disgusted and angry with the way Washington is handling our taxes. If you are fearful of the fallout from the reckless spending of BILLIONS to bailout and "stimulate" without accountability and responsibility then we need to become ONE, LOUD VOICE THAT CAN BE HEARD FROM EVERY CITY, TOWN, SUBURB AND HOME IN AMERICA. There is a growing protest to demand that Congress, the President and his cabinet LISTEN to us, the American Citizens. What is being done in Washington is NOT the way to handle the economic free fall.
So, here's the plan. On April 1, 2009, all Americans are asked to send a TEABAG to Washington , D.C. You do not have to enclose a note or any other information unless you so desire. Just a TEABAG. Many cities are organizing protests. If you simply search, "New American Tea Party", several sites will come up. If you aren't the 'protester' type, simply make your one voice heard with a TEABAG. Your one voice will become a roar when joined with millions of others that feel the same way. Yes, something needs to be done but the lack of confidence as shown by the steady decline in the stock market speaks volumes.
This was not my idea. I visited the sites of the 'New American Tea Pary' and an online survey showed over 90% of thousands said they would send the teabag on April 1. Why, April 1?? We want them to reach Washington by April 15. Will you do it? I will. Send it to; 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. Washington , D.C. 20500 .
Forward this to everyone in your address book. Visit the website below for more information about the 'New American Tea Party'. I would encourage everyone to go ahead and get the envelope ready to mail, then just drop it in the mail April 1. Can't guarantee what the postage will be by then, it is going up as we speak, but have your envelope ready. What will this cost you? A little time and a 40 something cent stamp.
What could you receive in benefits? Maybe, just maybe, our elected officials will start to listen to the people. ; Take out the Pork. Tell us how the money is being spent. We want TRANSPARENCY AND ACCOUNTABILITY. Remember, the money will be spent over the next 4-5 years. It is not too late.

Please send bags.......there isn't much else we CAN do!
