Mr. Z has gone to the Lord

Please pray for me and our family and friends.
I hadn't told you yet that he'd been diagnosed with a very rare and very difficult disease; we didn't expect this quick an end.
I will write about him when I can.

God bless you all. Please pray for me....Z

We know Mr. Z is in a better place, and God holds him close. With a broken heart, I wish to say what a privilege it was for Mr. Pris and I to know Mr. Z.

Such a good, wonderful man, and we are so glad we were able to know him. We will miss him terribly.

We hold you in our thoughts and in our hearts, and may God bless you and keep you. His love is with you now and always.

Dear Z,

I just heard this terrible news from one of our mutual friends about five minutes ago.

I am so so sorry this has happened. I am shocked. I so wish I could do something to help.

I never had direct contact with Mr. Z, but I loved everything he wrote for geeeZ, and knew how good and kind -- and wise -- he was from the way you've always talked about him.

God bless you, my dear old friend. I am going away tomorrow morning to a fiftieth high school reunion, or I'd say "Please call me, if you like." Perhaps later ...

God is our help in every need.
He does our every hunger feed.
He walks beside us, guides our way
Through every moment of the day.

That may sound trite, but it's helped me to say that over and over to myself in dark times. My great aunt taught it to me when I was little. It's amazing how sustaining it has been through the years.

Needless to say, you have my deepest sympathy and more love than you could imagine. Believe me, I feel for you.

Your friend,

~ FreeThinke

There are no words.
There is only love.

You graciously shared the beauty of your most special love for him through your writing - and your always heartfelt words, (as your always heartfelt love), will live on.

Each of us who was blessed to read Mr. Zs words about you, or your words about him, knows that a love such as yours is as rare as it is beautiful. We are truly, deeply saddened, beyond expression. Many of us knew Mr. Z only through you, or through his incredible gift for writing, but we feel as though we have lost a dear, dear friend. May he rest gently in God's loving arms. These words cannot begin to express my condolences - but I do hope that you can feel the love behind them.

heidianne jackson said...

be still and know that he's still with you. fall apart and know that you will find peace again.

there are no words, only love. there is nothing we can do to take this from you, but if we could we would. your honor and respect and love for mr. z are inspiring. his for you is teachable. he has never missed an opportunity to teach nor to show anyone and everyone his love for you.

mr. j and I love you and are 'here for you' even though that sounds so trite. we lift you up in prayer and love.

Upon receiving the phone call, I found myself wishing the Lord would somehow grant me the tools to take your painful loss from, and for, you. Then I realized we, your friends and family, ALL instinctively have that same want. We do so love you, Z.

I never had the privilege and honor of firmly shaking your wonderful husband's hand, yet I felt I knew (through you) so much about the incredible personality, intelligence and sensitivity that comprised him. While I take some comfort in the knowledge that he passed gently, as he wished, I am so truly sorry it was God's decision to make it now. My the Good Lord cradle his soul for all eternity.

My prayers will always accompany you, Beautiful Z. I pray for your strength, faith and courage. God bless you each and every day.

Z,

Take all the time you need to sort through it all. The healing process takes time and it is different with everyone. It is a dynamic process with many different phases, one at a time.

We will all be here when you are ready and just know, you are in our thoughts and prayers.

Bloviating Zeppelin said...

Oh my God.

I am so sorry.

I know this is shock and sudden, and perhaps I make this request improperly. . .

But, when you have time, can you, perhaps, give us a bit of what you knew Mr Z to be?

Can we see a photo? Some recollections? Some context? Background?

I ask this not to embarrass, but to flesh out his reality for us and for you, and to help us understand the man he truly was.

I suffered two losses this year; I cannot imagine what my life would be like if I were to suffer the loss of my wife.

I'm sorry, but more words pretty much escape me, Z.

I am so, so very sorry. The tears stream as I write this.

I too am a sad person today. Every time I come here to see the comments I burst into tears again. This can't have happened. This beautiful marriage of mutual love and respect just can't have ended like this. Z and Mr. Z were supposed to go on happily into old age together. It just breaks my heart.

Z, I lost my dad suddenly in March 2009, from a stroke. He was 63, married to mom for 43 years this past February. The loss was more than my mom or us kids or his mom or sisters could bear. But here we are every day it gets just a wee bit easier but it's so hard. We are resolved to keep going and take stock in what we have in the here and now.

The reason I bring this up is because mom and I were just talking about dad on the phone and I told her about Mr. Z. She wanted me to give you her condolences even though she never even knew him, or you. She understands the loss. I told her that it's just shocking to be talking to someone one minute and then the next they're gone. Somehow it never seems real. But sadly it is.

I want you to know that Mr. Z was so kind to me when my dad died. I blogged about the pain of the loss and he was one of so many who gave me kind words of support and encouragement. I am so thankful for that--that someone who hardly knew me personally took the time to make me feel better. It renewed my faith in people--that they really do care. He leaves an awesome legacy :)

Hugs, Jess & family

For those of us, who were fortunate to have known this mighty, powerful and gentle

His goodness and intelligence nurtured us all. We learned from him, as he shared his thoughts and sound reasoning through the most complicated issues. He was brilliant and knowledgable on so many subjects. What a mind !

He cared so deeply about you, his family and friends, our nation and his faith.

It was a privilege and an honor to have known him. He was so loved,
