Christian history in one's hand? what do you think?

I find THIS absolutely utterly fascinating.  They've found and released some information on 'lead codices' which could be a major discovery of something from CHRISTIAN HISTORY...... below, in italics, are just two really interesting statements from the linked article:
Initial metallurgical research indicates that the codices are about 2,000 years old--based on the manner of corrosion they have undergone, which, as Macrae writes, "experts believe would be impossible to achieve artificially."

They contain a number of images and textual allusions to the Messiah, as well as some possible references to the crucifixion and resurrection. Some of the codices were sealed, prompting yet more breathless speculation that they could include the sealed book, shown only to the Messiah, mentioned in the Book of Revelation. One of the few sentences translated thus far from the texts, according to the BBC, reads, "I shall walk uprightly"--a phrase that also appears in Revelation. "While it could be simply a sentiment common in Judaism," BBC writer Robert Pigott notes, "it could here be designed to refer to the resurrection."

Sure, as the article emphasizes at the end, this could be a hoax, but, if not, and experts are admitting it seems 'impossible' to achieve the aging 'artificially',  this is quite some convincing information..........I hope you all take the few minutes it takes to read my link..........it's highly encouraging for Christians and could be highly impressive to those on the fence about the Christian faith.

It really impressed me.........what do you think, after having read all the details in the article.......don't forget to read the very end, they do remind us it could all be for nothing....  (doesn't seem so to me, seems like there's far, far less criticism of the findings than usual when Christian relics are discovered)
GeeeeeZ!

Are we arming Al Qaeda?

Isn't it said today that we don't know quite who the rebels in Libya are?  Now we're finding out that 2-3 weeks ago, Obama signed an order to help arm them, according to THIS article.  There is quite a bit of thought that Al Qaeda's among those rebels........are we arming AL QAEDA?

Oh, GEEEEEEEZ...then, there's THIS, confirming that 'questions loom about the possibility of arming rebels'?  NOW WHAT?

The first linked article says: "Interviews by U.S. networks on Tuesday, Obama said the objective was for Gaddafi to "ultimately step down" from power. He spoke of applying "steady pressure, not only militarily but also through these other means" to force Gaddafi out."   But..... what's Obama mean when he says he wants Gaddafi OUT but doesn't want regime change?  Does that make sense??

Are there any adults running this situation?    Couldn't he have waited to see who the rebels were before arming them?  Do you think we can get out of Libya before it escalates on US?$$$$$   And, shouldn't we be spending that money on OUR BORDERS?

UPDATE:  According to THIS, we've sent teams of CIA into Libya....I'm wondering if anybody but the CIA should have known that?  Sometimes, I wonder at the intelligence of a group who's covert and announces they're there......or coming.  geeeeeeeeeeeZ

Obama's Ratings

SO, President Obama's approval rating is down again......according to a poll.   I hope they didn't have to spend too much on that poll, all they had to do was read our blogs :-)

Realistically what do you think Obama would have to do to get the ratings UP again?   (not counting leave, of course, which...after all........we can dream)

Could ANYTHING make you say "Heck YES, I give him a HIGH APPROVAL RATING!"?
or is it........................

How do you grapple with liberals?

I hate to say it, but I have actually spoken to liberals who are very much like this blonde in the video.......but, usually, the minute you confront with facts, they change the subject or walk away;  at least she stuck to her imbecilic mantras!

Have you dealt with people like this?   How'd you do?

Star Parker, L.A. Girl......one brave and outspoken cookie

Parker: Why liberals hate Clarence Thomas and Sarah Palin

By Star Parker

In days when slavery was legal in this country, all slaves did not willingly resign to the grim fate cast upon them.
The human spirit longs to be free. In some individuals, that longing beats so strong in their breast that they will take large personal risks, against great odds, to rebel against tyranny that has transformed their life into a tool for someone else's will and whim.
Slaves who had the temerity to run away from their plantation "home" paid dearly if they were caught and returned. Measures were taken to make them an example to others who might harbor similar thoughts about freedom.
Among those measures were brutal public beatings of rebels to which other slaves were forced to bear witness and digest with great clarity the price of rebelliousness.
Such is the fate today of those uppity souls who choose to challenge the authority and legitimacy of our inexorably growing government plantation.
Those with interests for the care and feeding of this plantation cannot physically punish these rebels with the whip.
Their whip is the mainstream media and the means of punishment of this virtual whip is not beating of a physical body but assassination of character.
This perspective helps us understand the ongoing liberal obsession with destroying Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas and former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin.
Thomas and Palin are particularly threatening to liberals because their lives fly in the face of liberal mythology. According to this mythology, the essential and ongoing struggle in our nation is a power struggle of interests between "haves" and "have-nots" rather than an ongoing struggle for human freedom.
According to this mythology, there is an elite class of "haves" who, by virtue of fate and birth, control power and wealth. They are conservative because their only interest is to keep things as they are.
Fighting against this conservative elite are noble "have-nots", struggling, by any means possible, to get their fair share of wealth distributed by an unjust and blind fate.
A high-profile conservative whose very life and personal history poses an open challenge and affront to this mythology is a liberal's worst nightmare.
If being a conservative means simply protecting the bounty passed on to you by your forebears, why would a man from a poor black family in the South, or a woman from a white working-class family in Alaska, be a conservative? No less a conservative whose conservatism plays a role in a successful professional life?
The liberal answer is that the only way this could be possible is that this is an individual of dubious character, on the take, and being paid off handsomely by conservative powers that be.
After all, in the liberal mindset, the government plantation, carefully grown and nurtured by liberals over these years, supposedly on behalf of our unfortunate "have-nots," should be the natural home for anyone of modest background and no inheritance.
Not only should that individual want to live on the plantation, but you'd think they would want to participate in the noble cause of keeping it growing.
The federal government plantation now sucks out one-quarter of our economy. Seventy percent of federal spending now amounts to checks government cuts and mails to individuals.
Where does it all lead? Look at Detroit. This is a government plantation poster child and portent of our nation's future if this keeps up.
The human spirit does long to be free. Many understand this but are intimidated to speak up. Some are brave and do speak up.
Those who are successful, who know there is no future on the plantation, will be publicly flogged by the overseers. Such is the case of Justice Thomas and Mrs. Palin.
But it is brave individuals like this, in public and private life, upon whom our future depends.

Pris, thanks for the head's up...I'd rec'd her email but can't read them all!  I'm glad you forwarded this to me.

A Chinese Professor could wake us up..........

.......if we weren't in quite so deep a sleep.

Imagine an America where Conservatives weren't exposing a lot of what's going on, trying to wake people up?  They can slam Beck all they want, they can insult, threaten, and mock him, but they simply can't contradict what he's saying....even when he begs them for an argument. This Chinese professor is right.........I wish it was American kids he was speaking to. But the left won't allow that, either.

Do you think he's right?  Are we doing anything but blog about it? Will that be enough?

Sunday Faith Blog....For the Beauty of the Earth

I guess we've had enough angst over the week with politics, etc., so I thought I'd publish some of Ms Z (not mine, but my stepdaughter's) photography .....I hope you enjoy the beauties of God's creation.  HERE is an amazing music video of my favorite version of FOR THE BEAUTY OF THE EARTH that you might enjoy, too.

"God did this so that men would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from each one of us."  Acts 17:27.  Maybe some of God's beauty was to bring us closer to Him......it's one way he can reveal Himself!  Have a great Sunday!  Z (and Ms Z)

Geraldine Ferraro has died..........May God give comfort to her family and friends.
I didn't know, but she fought multiple myeloma for ten years, which is almost a miracle, and she credited a new drug with lengthening her life without the ravages some chemotherapies can cause.  Mr. Z's doctors gave him the same meds for his Amyloidosis as they give for multiple myeloma.....it isn't an easy therapy.
Ferraro was scrappy, I admired her for that..........America was better for her, even if she was a Democrat :-)

"A Conference to change the world economic system"...Soros, at it again. Only worse this time

Our 'friend' George Soros is planning a big conference, have you heard?  I hadn't, either, until someone sent me THIS LINK (quotes in italics below are from the linked article).   Oh, yes, the guy who said "the main enemy of the open society, I believe, is no longer the communist but the capitalist threat" is taking no chances.........according to The Business and Media Institute.

The event is bringing together "more than 200 academic, business and government policy thought leaders' to repeat the famed 1944 Bretton Woods gathering that helped create the World Bank and International Monetary Fund. Soros wants a new 'multilateral system," or an economic system where America isn't so dominant....and, of course, more than two-thirds of the slated speakers have direct ties to Soros. ....

Soros emphasized that point, that this needs to be a global solution, making America one among many. "The rising powers must be present at the creation of this new system in order to ensure that they will be active supporters."  (Z: think Obama or Geithner will disagree?)
Dan Gainor is a wonderful writer, please read the whole link....HERE it is again.  It's so important we read these things because we're not getting them from the mainstream media, that is FOR SURE.
Do you think Soros is unstoppable and can win?   I'm thinking America's in just the right economic position for him to succeed in his "multilateral system where we're not dominant.....Methinks those days of American dominance are over and, after all, our professors at universities teach that this is better so there won't be much argument.

Well, "world after to Soros", be very careful what you ask for.
    What are your thoughts?

GAY is GOOD...don't you GET it, children??!

PLEASE watch this video; I'd really like your opinion of teaching children this small about homosexuality.  Play close attention to the remarks of the adults...very telling;

We sure don't want anybody hurting others, but I wonder what you think of what they're taught, that they're taught this in school, and at such an early age.

McCain/Palin film ....A Liberal BLAST!

Oh, please, God, if I die and come back as an actress, let me play Jane Fonda or Hillary Clinton in a serious film about them!  I want to have a blast with nuance that shows what I think about them. I want to make Democrats look as bad as the Dems are going to make McCain and Palin look in the new film GAME CHANGE, okay???

It's just not FAIR that liberal Julianne Moore gets to play Sarah Palin and very liberal Ed Harris gets to play John McCain, it'll just be too much fun for them.   They must have jumped at the chance to slam Republicans because, after all, what else could the film be about, there was very little interesting about their side of the  '08 campaign!

Talking about 2008's election, God, do you have the inside scoop of who's going to portray Hillary or Gloria Allred or any of the people threatening voters outside the Houston precincts in '08 when Hillary gets furious that Obama's people were telling people they had to vote for him or leave and they did?, and when Allred blew the whistle about that but suddenly dummied up when Conservatives learned about it?.......From what I hear about Hillary, playing her REALLY MAD might be quite an experience!  OH, but I forgot, I doubt seriously that anything about that cheating by Obama supporters against Hillary will appear on film.   What was I thinking, God?

So, that's my prayer.....  And, by the way, I'm just kidding about wanting to come back OR play liberals......just trying to make a point here.   If I ever came back as Hillary or Allred or Fonda even in a role, just shoot me, God. :-)

Amen.

The earthquakes and the Japanese.......quite moving

This is a letter I got via email today and I wanted to share it with you:
From Anne in Sendai, Japan where she has lived for the past decade teaching English. Very moving!!
Hello My Lovely Family and Friends,
First I want to thank you so very much for your concern for me. I am very touched. I also wish to apologize for a generic message to you all. But it seems the best way at the moment to get my message to you.
Things here in Sendai have been rather surreal. But I am very blessed to have wonderful friends who are helping me a lot. Since my shack is even more worthy of that name, I am now staying at a friend's home. We share supplies like water, food and a kerosene heater. We sleep lined up in one room, eat by candlelight, share stories. It is warm, friendly, and beautiful.

During the day we help each other clean up the mess in our homes. People sit in their cars, looking at news on their navigation screens, or line up to get drinking water when a source is open. If someone has water running in their home, they put out sign so people can come to fill up their jugs and buckets.
Utterly amazingly where I am there has been no looting, no pushing in lines. People leave their front door open, as it is safer when an earthquake strikes. People keep saying, "Oh, this is how it used to be in the old days when everyone helped one another."
Quakes keep coming. Last night they struck about every 15 minutes. Sirens are constant and helicopters pass overhead often. We got water for a few hours in our homes last night, and now it is for half a day. Electricity came on this afternoon. Gas has not yet come on. But all of this is by area. Some people have these things, others do not.
No one has washed for several days. We feel grubby, but there are so much more important concerns than that for us now. I love this peeling away of non-essentials. Living fully on the level of instinct, of intuition, of caring, of what is needed for survival, not just of me, but of the entire group.
There are strange parallel universes happening. Houses a mess in some places, yet then a house with futons or laundry out drying in the sun. People lining up for water and food, and yet a few people out walking their dogs. All happening at the same time.

Other unexpected touches of beauty are first, the silence at night. No cars. No one out on the streets. And the heavens at night are scattered with stars. I usually can see about two, but now the whole sky is filled. The mountains are Sendai are solid and with the crisp air we can see them silhouetted against the sky magnificently.
And the Japanese themselves are so wonderful. I come back to my shack to check on it each day, now to send this e-mail since the electricity is on, and I find food and water left in my entranceway. I have no idea from whom, but it is there. Old men in green hats go from door to door checking to see if everyone is OK. People talk to complete strangers asking if they
need help. I see no signs of fear. Resignation, yes, but fear or panic, no.

They tell us we can expect aftershocks, and even other major quakes, for another month or more. And we are getting constant tremors, rolls, shaking, rumbling. I am blessed in that I live in a part of Sendai that is a bit elevated, a bit more solid than other parts. So, so far this area is better off than others.  Last night my friend's husband came in from the
country, bringing food and water. Blessed again.

Somehow at this time I realize from direct experience that there is indeed an enormous Cosmic evolutionary step that is occurring all over the world right at this moment. And somehow as I experience the events happening now in Japan, I can feel my heart opening very wide. My brother asked me if I felt so small because of all that is happening. I don't. Rather, I feel as part of something happening that much larger than myself. This wave of
birthing (worldwide) is hard, and yet magnificent.
Thank you again for your care and Love of me,
With Love in return, to you all,
Anne
Z: I'm not sure what 'Anne' means by the 'Cosmic evolutionary step' (are you?) but I wanted to post this to show what the Japanese people are like first-hand in a time of crisis.  Remember during Katrina when most people were demanding and looting...and you'd see the Asians sitting in rows, quietly and expectantly, for whatever was being handed out to help?   Quite a people.

MAGIC! Harry Houdini.........

The woman who was Harry Houdini's last stage assistant just died at the age of 103!  I found THIS fascinating!

Any of you like magic and have any stories about acts you've seen you couldn't believe with your own eyes?  Wouldn't you have loved to have seen Houdini in action?

Happy Purim ( a little late, but heartfelt!)

Iranian leader, Mahmud Ahmadinejad, not feeling well and concerned about his Mortality goes to consult a Psychic about the date of his death. Closing her eyes and silently reaching into the realm of the Future she finds the answer:

"You will die on a Jewish holiday."  "Which one?” Ahmadinejad asks nervously…..

"It doesn't matter," replied the psychic.
"Whenever you die, it’ll be a Jewish holiday."
Goodbye, Elizabeth Taylor.
She was not one of my favorite actresses but she was a beautiful icon and a trooper.  My favorite films of hers were National Velvet and A Place in the Sun.

The UN, LIbya, and President Obama

Do you think it's a good idea for Obama to 'hide' behind the UN on the Libya actions?  It's good for his far left constituency, but is it good for America?   What message does it send the world?  And do we want to intervene every time there's a problem?  And, if so, why aren't we doing the same thing in Yemen...?

Is he, indeed, "hiding" behind the UN when it's mostly our armed forces doing the action?  Who're we kidding?

FOX v CNN.....Jennifer Griffin LIES?....you decide

Well, can you beat THIS?  Yahoo's Home Page carries a story by Michael Calderone which reports that CNN's  *Nic Robertson blasted Fox News  on Monday for its report that Libyan authorities used him and other journalists as "human shields" in order to prevent an attack on Gadhafi's compound in Tripoli the night before. Robertson said Fox News' "allegation is outrageous and it's absolutely hypocritical."  (Z: *make SURE you watch Nic Robertson explain that the FOX guy rarely leaves the hotel but he and the networks go on 'government trips' because then they can make sure they're getting information that's not edited... in other words, they actually think that they're getting real stories that the governments don't want them to know when they are "put on buses, allowed in the tents, given a few minutes, and then escorted back on buses to get back to our hotels with a story"...he actually believes their being there, escorted by governments, is real news?...as if ANY evil gov't like Qadaffi's says "Okay, go ahead...we're with you, so it's okay"  That's getting REAL NEWS?!)

FOX's conscientious reporter Jennifer Griffin says that story is right and she sticks to it.

Now I know that CNN gives their view of the news and FOX gives both sides of any news and says "you decide"......so, YOU decide today....who do you think is right?   Do you think Jennifer Griffin would report anything without having pretty solid information?

And, a VERY IMPORTANT part of my point is that Yahoo runs the story on their Yahoo Headlines News Stories with "CNN CORRESPONDENT SLAMS FOX NEWS"
Most Americans won't bother to read the story and find that Jennifer Griffin is saying she's absolutely positive that happened, they just see CNN is slamming FOX.  Get it?  Think that's an accident? :-)

Tell me!...which side of this would you fall on?  Picture this:  Griffin has just recovered from a harrowing bout with breast cancer and leaves 2 or 3 children at home to go to war zones now that she's back at FOX and considers LYING in news reports?   absurd

Biblical gender mess..........

The Bible is now 'gender friendly'...are we really THIS screwed up now?
Are women really so offended by "him" or "his"?   REALLY?

See, maybe we all should go back to the King James Version and just leave everything with "THOU" and "THY", then we wouldn't need to worry about HIM and HER and ...whatever :-)

Think this Bible's a necessary, good idea?

LIBYA......"A LONG WAR"??

If I were president of a country like Libya and was incensed that America and her allies were going to bomb me, then what I would say is exactly what Qaddafi said Sunday:

TRIPOLI, Libya – Moammar Gadhafi vowed a "long war" as allied forces launched a second night of strikes on Libya on Sunday

And which brand of American (and her allies) would he know that would REALLY get to?
If this doesn't prove dictators are watching our news and playing us like a fine violin, I don't know WHAT does.  They know what libs are saying about Iraq, Afghanistan, Bosnia, etc etc..."IT'S TOO LONG A WAR! We can't have a LONG WAR!"

Of course, MOST OF US DO NOT WANT OR NEED ANOTHER WAR....GAD!!!   No liberals want it, no conservatives want it.   HERE is the John Bolton opinion of Obama's handling of the situation.   And, here in italics is a bit of the article you need to see:

Hours after the president warned that the United Nations was ready to launch a military strike to defend the Libyan people if their leader Moammar Kadafi did not halt his attacks on civilians and pull back from the rebel stronghold of Benghazi and three other cities, Bolton cast the president as indecisive, inconsistent and uninterested in foreign policy. ("Hours after..." as if to make it sound like Obama GOT RIGHT ON IT, as Bolton, below, suggests would have helped the situation mightily if he HAD...)

I think, better said, it might have been written "Days after the early stage of the crisis, Obama warned that the United Nations was ready to launch a military strike to defend the Libyan people if their leader did not halt his attacks on civilians and pull back from the ....., Bolton.........."

By the way, do presidents do the talking for the U.N.?   "Obama warned that the U.N. was ready...?"  Is that for American liberals to not get the idea that it's WE who were ready?   Don't they get it?  WE are leading this, no matter how much lipstick we put on this pig.  Here's more from the article:

"But the U.S. military, for the time being at the lead of the international campaign, is trying to walk a fine line over the end game of the assault..."    Yes, and Obama must be walking a VERY fine line at the White House with his liberal cohorts screeching "ARE YOU NUTS?   YOU'VE NOT COME OUT AGAINST GAY MARRIAGE, GITMO'S STILL OPEN, Z PAID $4.29 A GALLON FOR GAS TODAY (yes, i did!), AND NOW YOU'RE ALLOWING YOURSELF TO LOOK LIKE YOU'RE STARTING A NEW WAR?   DO YOU WANT TO WIN IN 2012 OR DON'T YOU?"

SO, GEEEZ READERS:   WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON OUR GETTING AT ALL INVOLVED IN LIBYA, AND DO YOU THINK OBAMA WAS LATE ON THIS, AND DO YOU THINK HE'S GOING TO HAVE A HELL OF A TIME WITH HIS LIBERAL BACKERS? and DO YOU THINK GATES IS GOING TO HAVE ANY OTHER COUNTRY STEP UP NOW THAT HE'S SAYING WE NEED TO HAND OVER LEADERSHIP IN A FEW DAYS?

By the way......I had to laugh last night while watching the little bit of Geraldo I can stomach:  He called the actions in Libya "an invasion".......apparently, some on the left think.we're INVADING Libya??   WHAT?   I guess like that's when the whacko libs called our actions in Iraq an 'occupation'.

Barack H. Obama Elementary School....closed

An elementary school in New Jersey has to close its doors due to low enrollment even though its name has been changed from Bangs Avenue Elementary School (!) to Barack H. Obama Elementary School. Here's a part of the article from THIS source:

At the time that the school acquired its new name, administrators took a lot of flak for ostensibly focusing on the name change instead of the plight of its students. But the city resident behind the movement, Myra Campbell, believed it would "send a subliminal message" to the students.
"Every time they walk through the school doors, there's going to be a certain amount of pride in where they go to school," Campbell told the Star-Ledger in 2009 (Z: you ought to read this link, too, it's . "We now move forward in trying what we can to improve the academic skills of the students and also the social skills." At the time, another New Jersey school had already been renamed after the president.

Okaaaaay....the students would have more "pride" if they walked through the doors of Barack H. Obama Elementary School?  And Myra Campbell got her wishes?

Imagine that they didn't realize they'd have low enrollment but spent the money in 2009 to change the marquees, stationery, etc etc., to reflect the school's new name....so "a certain amount of pride" would be felt by elementary school kids because Obama's name is on the school???  No demographic studies?  Don't schools know who's in the area?  Also, the link from the Star-Ledger above says "Campbell, who lives a half-block from the school and was a delegate to the Democratic National Convention, said Obama is a role model for Bangs Avenue School students and their families, many of whom are poor."

Japan's nuclear situation/ Have you noticed the reporting, too?

I've listened to and read quite a bit of coverage on the Japan nuclear situation in Fukushima and can't help observing that EVERY SINGLE nuclear physicist, nuclear engineer, ex-director of a nuclear power plant, and every other kind of expert in the nuclear business I have seen or heard, has said this situation is solvable and probably will be before it gets out of hand.

The ONLY people I have heard say it's a total disaster and will probably affect our West Coast and everyone is in peril, and worse, are news people reporting from over there and a far leftwinger Michael Medved had on yesterday.  It's just the oddest thing, and I really don't mean this to be political because it mustn't be.  Now, I must admit that I have a healthy fear of anything nuclear and remember my elementary school days jumping under my desk when the teacher said to, and I heard about bomb shelters and that kept me up a few nights, but the experts I have heard the last few days are rather reassuring!    The leftwing media is quite the opposite.

By the way, I know this is a little off-color but I can't help it...FUKU-SHIMA?  It seems a little odd that the nuclear power plant with that name is the troubled one :-)   What's the message?  Is Mother Earth, or someone else, complaining?

Have you, too, noticed my observation about who's more negative on this frightening scenario and who isn't?

While you're thinking about it, please say a prayer for these devastated people;  nobody's making light of this awful situation, I just couldn't help but wonder about the difference in reportage.  Obviously, this nuclear situation is a TERRIBLE situation no matter what happens, and it goes without saying that the earthquake and tsunami truly are living nightmares and how our hearts go out to the Japanese people who've lost family, homes, businesses, etc.   Pray they'll get food, water, comfort.........and that many will find their loved ones they believe are lost. And pray for those giving aid, too.

Jewish children massacred....

....do you think it will ever stop?   THIS is an article from Jewish World Review which I believe everyone should read.  You may know the story of the Israeli family slaughtered in their home this last weekend (I had not heard about it), but see the details of the ramifications and the way their government and the media (especially in Europe) has used this story.    Please read the whole thing if you have time, especially the last few paragraphs.

Yes, I'll admit it IS JEWISH World Review, and no, they are not unbiased, but the FACTS speak for themselves.

Gas again........this is another good commentary! (see the KNOT!)

Gas...how much is yours today?

Do you think he'll ever change his mind about drilling?  What will have to happen for him to?  Do you remember when he said high gasoline prices would be a good thing?  Do you feel that way?

NEVER help keep people safe from terrorism? REALLY?

Wait till you see THIS!   Here's the AP article's first paragraph:

SPOKANE, Wash. – Three cleanup workers who were hailed as heroes after finding a live bomb along the route of a Martin Luther King Jr. Day parade in Spokane said they later lost their jobs after supervisors questioned their handling of the situation.

Then there's this...

"We'd go out, and we'd clean up parking lots," he said. "Who knows what happens when you see a backpack sitting there? The first reaction is to pick it up and that's what we did, and we opened it, saw wires sticking out of it and called police."

But, they've been FIRED.  I guess the moral of the story is:  next time you see anything looking suspicious, let it be;  you might do the slightest thing wrong and get fired.  Never mind that hundreds of lives might be saved?   Is this a message we want to send?

Michelle Bachmann......

No WONDER the left's afraid of her.......she never lets down, she tries to get information out there, though David Gregory totally ignores her first amazing disclosure no matter how many times she says it!   Is this what David Gregory passes off as INFORMING THE PUBLIC?  Wouldn't an honest newsman say "Let's talk about that.........."  especially since she wouldn't get OFF it?

I know it's easier for the leftwing to denigrate Bachmann than listen and actually absorb some truth (and I expect it here), but.......this woman knows what she's talking about, so it's a real shame.

Sunday Faith Blog II.....

Before you read my post below, please say a prayer for all the policemen involved in THIS very sad story.

My dear friend Belle is an elderly Armenian lady who has a big heart and a big enough pocket book that she can help various charities.  Many of her charities involve Armenian and Christian endeavors.   She's been giving a lot of money to charities for years and, the other day, there was an amazing moment.

Belle knows an Armenian Presbyterian female minister who, with her husband, went to a very small village in the hinterlands of Armenia to see in person what's going on there.  They entered a village which they found still has no water and no electricity.   They both told Belle that they cried over the conditions there.   Then, something happened which they couldn't wait to share with Belle.

After they entered into one home, the woman inside extended her hands to them, was very gracious and offered them whatever she had in the way of coffee and sweets and they had a nice talk.  They told this woman they're from California and that they cared very much about the conditions in her country and were there to help.  Suddenly, the woman asked them "Do you know Belle A....ian?"    They simply couldn't believe their ears and excitedly told her that they absolutely knew Belle!

All those miles away, this woman was part of one of the families Belle has been helping!!   In all of Armenia, this couple ran into a woman who knows someone they know?

So, we think our money isn't making its target, and maybe sometimes it doesn't, but this Armenian Missionary of America sure lives up to its word!  In a cynical world where it's hard to have FAITH in the fact that our money's really reaching the needy we'd intended it for, it's nice to know that at least some of it is!   I found that an astonishing "small world" story and wanted to share it with you!

"He has scattered abroad his gifts to the poor, his righteousness endures forever...." Psalms 112:9

I hope you enjoy the amazingly great prayer in my Sunday Faith post just below this one.......

Sunday Faith Blog

"I bind unto myself today the strong name of the Trinity, by invocation of the same, the Three in One and the One in Three.
I bind this day to me, forever, by power of faith, Christ's incarnation, his baptism in the Jordan river, His death on the cross for my salvation; his bursting from the spiced tomb, his riding up the heavenly way, his coming at the day of doom, I bind unto myself today.
I bind unto myself today, the power of God to hold and lead, his eye to watch, his might to stay, his ear to harken to my need, the wisdom of my God to teach, his hand to guide, his shield to ward, the Word of God to give me speech, his heavenly host to be my guard.

Christ be with me, Christ within me, Christ behind me, Christ before me, Christ beside me, Christ to win me.  Christ to comfort and restore me.  Christ beneath me, Christ above me, Christ in quiet, Christ in danger, Christ in hearts of all that love me, Christ in mouth of friend and stranger.  I bind unto myself the name, the strong name of the Trinity, by invocation of the same, the Three in One and One in Three, of whom all nature hath creation, eternal Father, Spirit, Word; praise to the God of my salvation, salvation is of Christ the Lord!"

St. Patrick, c. 430

I thought  the whole prayer above was wonderful but particularly liked the words I put in bold and, even more particularly, those in bold italics.  What a concept.

"I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me.  The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me."  Galatians 2:20

Have a blessed Sunday.....

EXTORTION, anyone?

Don't TELL me a union would threaten a business?  :-)   This is quite something.....maybe this is what unions call 'bargaining':

March 10, 2011
Mr. Tom Ellis, President
Marshall & Ilsley Corporation
770 N. Water Street
Milwaukee, WI 53202
SENT VIA FASCIMILE AND REGULAR MAIL
Dear Mr. Ellis:
As you undoubtedly know, Governor Walker recently proposed a “budget
adjustment bill” to eviscerate public employees’ right to collectively bargain in
Wisconsin. ..
As you also know, Scott Walker did not campaign on this issue when he ran for
office. If he had, we are confident that you would not be listed among his largest
contributors. As such, we are contacting you now to request your support.
The undersigned groups would like your company to publicly oppose Governor
Walker’s efforts to virtually eliminate collective bargaining for public employees in
Wisconsin. While we appreciate that you may need some time to consider this
request, we ask for your response by March 17. In the event that you do not
respond to this request by that date, we will assume that you stand with
Governor Walker and against the teachers, nurses, police officers, fire fighters,
and other dedicated public employees who serve our communities.

In the event that you cannot support this effort to save collective bargaining,
please be advised that the undersigned will publicly and formally boycott the
goods and services provided by your company. However, if you join us, we will
do everything in our power to publicly celebrate your partnership in the fight to
preserve the right of public employees to be heard at the bargaining table.
Wisconsin’s public employee unions serve to protect and promote equality and
fairness in the workplace. We hope you will stand with us and publicly share that
ideal.
In the event you would like to discuss this matter further, please contact the
executive Director of the Wisconsin Professional Police Association, Jim Palmer,
at 608.273.3840.
Thank you in advance for your consideration. We look forward to hearing from
you soon.

Z: and then we've got NPR telling donors that they can hide the amount they sent them from the Feds if they donate 'anonymously' (see my post just below)......The Left's really at it, aren't they?   But, where's CNN on these things?  The New York Times...?  I'm really ashamed of the fire fighters unions above.

NPR trying to hide donations from the government? Have you heard this?

We all saw the video which caused the end of Schiller's career at NPR.........but have you heard THIS?

The first minute tells the story but the more you listen, the more you'll be stunned.....or, maybe NOT.
They should be shut down

Bullying........what are your thoughts?

BULLYING seems to have become so bad they needed a White House Conference on it. Here's the first paragraph of the linked article (all quotes below from the article are in italics):

WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama smiled when he said his large ears and funny name once made him a target of school-yard harassment. But he was all seriousness Thursday when he told a White House conference on bullying that torment and intimidation must not be tolerated.

He later added "I didn't emerge unscathed," (he can say that again. I have to admit it I have always thought this man needs therapy for the resentment he's had for his white blood which he discusses in his books, etc., and add the big ears and funny name and you've got a mess.)

Tell me, if you're one of the millions of normal kids who got called names at school or pushed around a bit, did you consider suicide?  Did any of us NOT have some kind of trouble with a classmate in elementary school?  I remember Judy Gottlieb from Hazeltine Avenue Elementary School.  She wore white starched aprons over her dresses, always wore patent leather Mary Janes, and had shiny black pigtails and, now that I think back on her, she was a kind of brunette Patty McCormack! One day, when we were about 9 years old, she pushed me hard and I got mad and grabbed for her and I ripped one of the starched taffeta ties of her apron/dress off!   Her mother called mine that night and Mom and I had quite a talk afterward...I still remember that because my poor mother seemed pretty upset and maybe a little embarrassed about what I'd done.....I didn't like having done that to Mom.  It wasn't my nature to do that but kids get mean and nasty and tough and I felt bullied and I guess she did, too, and our mothers straightened us out.   I've gone on to live a good life and have barely ripped another friend's clothing since (smile)...I don't know what happened to Judy, but I can only guess she's fine, too...........without a White House Conference on bullying!  :-)

Some children have killed themselves for having been bullied.  Okay, maybe three, maybe less, I'm not sure...  Thank God there doesn't seem to be more.  Surely, things should never come to that?  The article proceeds with this:

Michelle Obama said parents need to be more involved in their children's lives, their schools and their activities since youngsters "don't always tell us every little detail." She said her youngest daughter, 9-year-old Sasha, often says "Nothing" in response to questions about her day at school.

This is the answer most children have given since Caine and Abel sat for their SAT's, right?!!

What has changed that children are so vicious these days? Or are they?  And, if so, what do you think has caused this?  OR, do you think this is not the big deal so many people feel it is that they needed a White House conference?

President without a country?

This packs a wallop......what do you think? I was struck particularly by what sense Boone makes with the words I highlighted in red and then purple......

The President Without A Country
By Pat Boone

"We're no longer a Christian nation." - President Barack Obama, June 2009

" America has been arrogant." - President Barack Obama

"After 9/11, America didn't always live up to her ideals."- President Barack Obama

"You might say that America is a Muslim nation."- President Barack Obama, Egypt 2009

Thinking about these and other statements made by the man who wears the title of president. I keep wondering what country he believes he's president of.

In one of my very favorite stories, Edward Everett Hale's "The Man without a Country," a young Army lieutenant named Philip Nolan stands condemned for treason during the Revolutionary War, having come under the influence of Aaron Burr. When the judge asks him if he wishes to say anything before sentence is passed, young Nolan defiantly exclaims, "Damn the United States ! I wish I might never hear of the United States again!"

The stunned silence in the courtroom is palpable, pulsing. After a long pause, the judge soberly says to the angry lieutenant: "You have just pronounced your own sentence. You will never hear of the United States again.. I sentence you to spend the rest of your life at sea, on one or another of this country's naval vessels - under strict orders that no one will ever speak to you again about the country you have just cursed."

And so it was. Philip Nolan was taken away and spent the next 40 years at sea, never hearing anything but an occasional slip of the tongue about America. The last few pages of the story, recounting Nolan's dying hours in his small stateroom - now turned into a shrine to the country he foreswore - never fail to bring me to tears.  And I find my own love for this dream, this miracle called America , refreshed and renewed. I know how blessed and unique we are.

But reading and hearing the audacious, shocking statements of the man who was recently elected our president - a young black man living the impossible dream of millions of young Americans, past and present, black and white - I want to ask him, "Just what country do you think you're president of?"

You surely can't be referring to the United States of America , can you? America is emphatically a Christian nation, and has been from its inception! Seventy percent of her citizens identify themselves as Christian. The Declaration of Independence and our Constitution were framed, written and ratified by Christians. It's because this was, and is, a nation built on and guided by Judeo-Christian biblical principles that you, sir, have had the inestimable privilege of being elected her president.

You studied law at Harvard, didn't you, sir? You taught constitutional law in Chicago ?  Did you not ever read the statement of John Jay, the first Chief Justice of the Supreme Court and an author of the landmark "Federalist Papers": " Providence has given to our people the choice of their rulers - and it is the duty, as well as the privilege and interest of our Christian nation - to select and prefer Christians for their rulers"?

In your studies, you surely must have read the decision of the Supreme Court in 1892: "Our lives and our institutions must necessarily be based upon and embody the teachings of the Redeemer of mankind. It is impossible that it should be otherwise; and in this sense and to this extent our civilization and our institutions are emphatically Christian."

Did your professors have you skip over all the high-court decisions right up till the mid 1900's that echoed and reinforced these views and intentions?  Did you pick up the history of American jurisprudence only in 1947, when for the first time a phrase coined by Thomas Jefferson about a "wall of separation between church and state" was used to deny some specific religious expression - contrary to Jefferson 's intent with that statement?

Or, wait a minute: were your ideas about America 's Christianity formed during the 20 years you were a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ under your pastor, Jeremiah Wright?  Is that where you got the idea that " America is no longer a Christian nation"? Is this where you, even as you came to call yourself a Christian, formed the belief that  "America has been arrogant"?

Even if that's the understandable explanation of your damning of your country and accusing the whole nation (not just a few military officials trying their best to keep more Americans from being murdered by jihadists) of "not always living up to her ideals," how did you come up with the ridiculous, alarming notion that we might be"considered a Muslim nation"?

Is it because there are some 2 million or more Muslims living here, trying to be good Americans out of a current population of over 300 million, 70 percent of whom are Christians? Does that make us, by any rational definition, a "Muslim nation"?

Why are we not, then, a "Chinese nation"? A "Korean nation"? Even a "Vietnamese nation"? There are even more of these distinct groups in America than Muslims. And if the distinction you're trying to make is a religious one, why is America not "a Jewish nation"? There's actually a case to be made for the latter, because our Constitution - and the success of our Revolution and founding - owes a deep debt to our Jewish brothers.

Have you stopped to think what an actual Muslim America would be like? Have you ever really spent much time in Iran ? Even in Egypt ? You, having been instructed in Islam as a kid at a Muslim school in Indonesia and saying you still love the call to evening prayers, can surely picture our nation founded on the Quran, not the Judeo-Christian Bible, and living under Shariah law. Can't you? You do recall Muhammad's directives [Surah 9:5,73] to "break the cross" and "kill the infidel"?

It seems increasingly and painfully obvious that you are more influenced by your upbringing and questionable education than most suspected.  If you consider yourself the president of a people who are "no longer Christian," who have "failed to live up to our ideals," who "have been arrogant," and might even be "considered Muslim" - you are president of a country most Americans don't recognize.

Could it be you are a president without a country?

Z:  Please, no comments about Boone...we know here at geeeZ that shooting the messenger is our leftist trolls' favorite go-to when the information's tough to besmirch, but let's try to discuss this with civility and maturity.  Bill O'Reilly told a Muslim ex Ambassador to Pakistan tonight on his show that if the guy watched the hearings by Peter King tomorrow and found anything at all untoward, McCarthy-like (silly, because McCarthy was right, but ill mannered and unprofessional), or in any other way objectionable, that he should call the show and he would have him on to air his views. WOULD that a leftist program would even attempt to be that fair on any subject.   I thought the remarks about Vietnamese nation or Korean nation made a lot of sense....why doesn't Obama use those terms when there are so many more of those minorities?
geeez
