"he's got WEEEEED!" SO funny!

There's some really salty language in this but, if it's not your thing, suck it up and enjoy this because it is one REALLY FUNNY VIDEO!   I had a very serious post planned for today, but Big Bubba sent me this in an email and I had to post it......It's Saturday, have a good laugh!!  ENJOY!

I always liked Chris Rock's humor and acting, I could do without the vile language though. That's one reason I liked Bill Cosby, he is funny without the bad language.

There wouldn't be any police brutality cases if there were no police departments.

Debbie, I agree with you about Cosby, but I have to admit, sometimes, in spite of myself, I do laugh. Funny is funny.

Beamish, well, we can't argue with your truism can we? However, this is a comedy bit and an exaggeration.

I think the fact that it's a hip young black Chris Rock, not the typical recipe for a "follow the law" guy, makes it even funnier!

The language is salty but maybe the juxtaposition of someone telling people to obey the law and using SUCH bad language makes it even funnier?

FWIW, in the Civilization series of turn-based strategy empire building games, you can't build police departments in your cities until your nation develops and acquires the knowledge of "Communism." ;)

Surely Robiespierre's guillotine-carting "Commitees of Public Safety" should have been enough...

I don't think it's funny; I think it's downright charming. Everything he said is based on good common sense. It's absolutely true.

The language? Well, maybe it's regrettable, but in certain subcultures it's completely true-to-life. That's the way these people really talk. To them it's not offensive, it's just normal, everyday conversational speech.

"What's in a name? A rose by any other name would smell as sweet."

YUP! And to these guys ess-aitch-eye-tea is the word they use for ess-tea-you-eff-eff.

And to people in this sub-culture em-oh-tea-aitch-eee-are-eff-you-see-kay-eee-are is sometimes a term of endearment -- the equivalent of "bro" -- and sometimes the equivalent of our vulgar-but-less graphic ess-oh-en__oh-eff__a__bee-eye-tea-see-aitch!

What I might find sad here is that anyone who attempted to rephrase this young black man's sage advice in standard English would likely be dubbed a hopeless square, a nerd, a snob, or a stuffed shirt.

My little bro emailed me a link to this a good while back. It is quite funny.

Even so, I won't let my kids watch that racist Nick show that he narrates now.

Jen said...

Brooke, what show is that?

Everybody Hates Chris?

That would be it.
