Sarah.........translations.......

"Sarah" From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia:
The Hebrew word sarah indicates a woman of high rank, and is sometimes translated as "princess" or goddess, or "high holy one". They said it, NOT me!! ("high rank".... I hope so)

I'd say it's more like "approachable", "every (smart) woman" or "quite a candidate!"

What was your favorite line in her speech? Got one? What's your favorite thing about Sarah?

The tomato is the media/left in America.......

The orange is US if we continue to listen to it.

Romney 'ready for White House run if McCain fails"

Does this article reflect Romney's sentiment from the quotes in the AP article title (above) Yahoo has on its home page? You decide... is it honest? The media sure likes putting out that "if McCain fails" though...

Check out this quote from the article: "While Romney wished McCain and Palin well, his friends and advisers say if they fail in the general election, Romney is primed — even anxious — to mount a second bid for the White House.
He left himself some wiggle room Tuesday, saying, "That's not in my mind; that's not in my plans."

So, this means he's making a second bid? Then there's this: "Now, Romney can again concentrate on the presidency, even as he buffs a veneer of support for the McCain-Palin ticket .." See the implication? "a veneer of support"

The media's at it BIG TIME~!! "Romney knew it would be rude to be a sore loser. So, even though he thought he had endorsed McCain in the Feb. 7 speech that ended his own presidential bid, Romney submitted to cameras and questions a week later to reiterate that support for the rival he once said lacked the economics background to be president..."

Now they're reading his mind..."he knew it would be rude to be a sore loser" then they say... "he once said lacked the economics background to be president.." See how much MORE they packed into the article? ANY chance they get.

nothing much to say, is there.

Sarah? Maybe your family can hide behind Mrs. Obama's skirts, too?

No...on second that, that's reserved for Barack; Mrs. Palin and her family are fair game.
Their young daughter made a mistake, a bad choice; Mr. and Mrs. Obama seem to have NEVER said anything glowing about this country, BUT, THAT's OKAY, according to our media because they're pro choice, want leftist justices, want to redistribute the wealth and MIGHT be proud of America IF a Black man wins................... Think about it.

NOW, can SOMEBODY tell me where Fred Thompson was during HIS campaign for the presidency? WHAT a speech he gave tonight, huh?! I used to say to the TV screen "Hey, I know you LOOK like Fred, but what happened to your fire and humor and brains? Where've you hidden FRED?" What alien forces had his innards when he was running? Man, was he fantastic tonight. By the way, do yourselves a favor and do watch a little of the CNN coverage, then compare how FOX covered the Dems. Quite a difference. QUITE.

Well, they are certainly "FLAKES!"

and, of course, they're anything BUT "GR-R-REAT!"

MY COUNTRY, 'TIS OF THEE

I was thinking.....coming up with songs for my preschool class I've told you about, and it made me realize something.............

You all know MY COUNTRY, 'TIS OF THEE (or AMERICA), and this link has a little of its history. The lyrics say a lot, but, I'm wondering if they say a LOT more these days, in every imaginable way, than they did even when they were written?

My country, 'tis of thee,

Is it really all about our country anymore for most Americans? Is it "of thee" we still rally around and protect and love and cherish? Is it ALL ABOUT AMERICA anymore with conservatives and liberals alike? Is it 'of thee' to want to change it as much as liberals would like with entitlements, freebies, hyphenated-nationalities, turning a blind(ed) eye to illegal immigrants for so long and even encouraging them? Are these things and more "of thee" or of something we're not sure about these days as we see things change so drastically? Where is that same strong and wonderful 'thee' we've sung about for so many years that emphasized the rights of individuals and honored the great success so many people in this country have had when we suddenly seem intent on taking away their success to feed and clothe those who are here illegally or those who don't care to work hard?

Sweet land of liberty,

Do we still celebrate liberty when we have to have laws for every single thing you can think of? Is it liberty to scoff parents who should have the right to decide what's best for their children? Is it liberty to prevent smokers from smoking near a building!? Is it liberty when we have a media that doesn't tell us the truth? Are we at liberty to say what we think or are we hampered by some weird political correctness to keep our mouths shut? IS that liberty?

Of thee I sing;

Do we all still celebrate America open heartedly or has some of that "we're not so hot" rubbed off on us as we hear it's overly patriotic to wear flag pins or hang the flag in front of our home? Do we still teach our children all the patriotic, pro American songs we learned as kids? Did our athletes at the Olympics just not know the words when most didn't sing the anthem on the medals stand or was it something else? Are we still singing of America's greatness or are we made to feel just a little 'over the top' when we do?

Land where my fathers died,

Do we all honor our forefathers who fought so hard in so many different generations' wars like we used to? Do we honor our kids who are fighting for us now as much as we should as a country? Has it really sunken into this generation of kids that this freedom they have now was hard fought for and how much they owe those who did the fighting? Do they appreciate that or do they even realize what it's like not to have freedom so it's not such a big thing to them?

Land of the pilgrims' pride,

Do all of us Americans still remember those who came here so many years ago and gave it their all so we'd have a great country of freedom and liberty and, yes, pride? Are we still PROUD? Are our kids being taught to be proud of this great country or taught to march against their president when he declares war? Does it engender pride when senators like Harry Reid tell high schoolers their president's a 'loser'? Is it 'pride' when we allow immigrants to steal into our country and live off of our tax dollars? Can we have a country to be proud of when we allow things like sanctuary cities which invite lawbreakers to live comfortably amongst us?

From every mountainside
Let freedom ring!

But, are we letting freedom ring or are we working daily to thwart it here in America? Do we have freedom of religion when the mention of the God who the pilgrims came to worship freely is mocked and threatened in the public square?

Is there a verse you would like to elucidate, clarify, bemoan the disappearance of, challenge me on? I am so grateful to have a bunch of people at this blog who DO sing to our country, every day, in every way. May God bless you all.

Guess who I had dinner with? Blogger INCOGNITO!

Saturday night, I had dinner with the excellent blogger, your friend and mine, INCOGNITO! http://republicaninthearts.blogspot.com/ Check out her blog if you're not familiar with her writing, it's terrific!

Yes, she was visiting from her State (not sure she mentions it, so I won't) and, since we've been emailing friends for a while as well as fellow bloggers, we met up and had a ball. Wish you all could have been there. (yes, even you, Ducky! :-)

Here's what happened at the restaurant: Five minutes before we were ready to go, I locked eyes with a guy at the table next to us (behind Incognito) when he said to a female dinner companion "you really DO like Obama....just VOTE for him." Well, you can imagine the withering look I gave him. I just can't HELP myself! When we got up, the guy asked Incognito "YOU're voting for Obama, aren't you?"

"NO," said Incognito. I got up and walked to their table to join her. The conversation progressed to the point where I said I couldn't vote for someone who's going to tell us what to eat, what to breathe, what to drive, etc. This guy then says "What to eat? Don't you want SAFE FOOD?" I said "What's SAFE got to do with it? I'm not against the FDA, I just don't want anyone to tell ME what to eat...don't close down fast food restaurants, most of us are smart enough to understand we shouldn't eat too much of that." At "smart", the oh-so open minded sweet Obama voter rolled his eyes to all his friends, of course.

See what they do? I said "Don't tell me what to eat" and he turns it around to "Don't you think we should have safe food?" I walked toward the door and found a more kindred spirit in the waiter behind the stand by the front door, to whom I said "If you're a conservative, don't mention it to those people over there or you won't get a TIP!" He was cute, young, and laughed with me. We chatted while Incognito cleaned the clocks at that table I'd just walked away from. (I can only take so much, she was far more patient and conversant with them, and did a darned good job from what she told me they talked about before she finally left, I might add!)

"Don't tell me what to eat!" "Don't you want SAFE FOOD?" See what they do?

This was a REAL "geeeeZ!" moment. (Mr. Z had stayed home to let the blogging girls chat, but when we got back to our house, Incognito and the Z's solved the problems of the world. ALL of them. Trust me! Stay tuned for a series on that. (!!) (oh, and Incognito's beautiful, too!)

Do yourself a favor ........

You MUST take the few minutes to watch this very short film....you will SO not be sorry you did.

It is GORGEOUS. Bring Kleenex, it's not long enough for popcorn by a long shot!

News about Palin's eldest daughter

Sarah Palin's daughter is pregnant. NOW. She did not give birth to Trig. And I'd VERY much like your input because I'm so mixed about it.*

McCain knew about it and the Palins have issued a statement (see link).

What's profoundly sad is that the Left, the champion of debauchery which never criticizes any of the unwed celeb teen mothers and even writes television and film to encourage this behavior, will now be mocking and scoffing the Palin daughter, Bristol. (They'd already started in the rumors about the baby, Trig; you've all seen that. Ducky even left droppings here at geeeeZ)

Does a media which seems to revel in 'alternate lifestyles' and teen sex have the guts to criticize? May this be yet another chance for their hypocrisy to be outed.

I wish the family well, and I hope Sarah Palin comes out just a bit tougher on this behavior than she has today. *Here's my question: How does it look to American teens, and how tough SHOULD Palin get, straddling that line of support for her dear daughter and disagreement with the choice her daughter made so American kids don't (yet again, based on our societal heroes) get the impression "See? Even this woman's daughter had unmarried sex and got pregnant and everything's just FINE!"

(I guess this is fairly topical for "LABOR" day, huh? (ouch..never mind!!!! hee hee!) have a good day, folks.) !!!
UPDATE: I just saw this in the Yahoo homepage article: "The father was identified in the statement as Levi, but the campaign said it was not disclosing his full name or age or how he and Bristol know each other, citing privacy." Well, I'd say they "KNOW EACH OTHER" pretty darned well, that's 'how well'!? And maybe they'd have done better with a bit less privacy? But, that's only me!
