Running mate? I thought it was his Siamese twin!

That kinda says it all for the Dems. John Kennedy wouldn't even be welcome in that party anymore.

When are the masses going to realize that tax dollars, one way or the other, come out of their own pockets.

I predict the Obamessiah's chosen running mate will prove to be a WTF moment.

As in, much harder to not laugh at people who still support Obama afterwards.

GREAT question shoprat! For many that level of understanding is just a bridge too far! When you scr-w the rich guy (business owner) he has to let workers go or cut dividends or raise prices. Sometimes all of the above. All that leftist "hate the rich guy" talk rolls downhill in the final analysis. Just like....garbage. :-)

Beamish I agree, but who do you have in mind. If he picks that void surrounded by a sphincter muscle, Joe Biden, this race could get quite entertaining.

I don't care who his running mate is, this guy has to be stopped. Currently, the Dems control both houses of Congress and there every indication that they will retain their majorities in 2009 so at a minimum McCain brings balance to government. I like McCain.
And I'll take McCain over the "Change" guy anytime......The "A Change We Can Believe In"..group, are chasing an "Old Song and Dance" tune, played by DNC group of "Political Boss's"...and has it's fuel from the "fears"..of the people, not the "intellegence" of the people.....
Obama is nothing more than a shiny new Liar..singing the same old"I'm for Change" song...with a newer..folksie...tune....no new words or thoughts.....just get me elected....
McCain "Knows" how to manage, and is not just a follower.....Obama is just riding the "race"issue....cause he has nothing else to show for his time as a Senator....

I agree with throwing stones. It doesn't matter who Obammy picks for VP... the dem ticket needs stopping.

Steve Harkonnen said...

I agree, stop Obama somehow. By ANY means that are possible.

But if he makes it, good news, it'll mean some serious house reforms for the Republican Party, and the first rule will be "let's not pick any more liberal candidates like McCain."

After all, McCain IS a liberal in every sense of the word.

Good post Steve!

Dear Steve and Morgan.

No offence, but YOU GUYS ARE NUTS! I love you both..but we will NOT RECOVER! What does that mean?

At least 2 SCOTUS judges SO liberal that we're dead in the water.
Taxes upped so much we'll be closing business which employee people.
Heck, Obama doesn't even understand that raising taxes on our corporations makes us LESS able to stand up to China, etc...

Gay marriage, abortion, high taxes, Ludikrus at the inaugural ball, ...heck, that's enough of a scary metaphor for me.

I'll never back down....NEVER! you're both smart, I SO appreciate how you feel about electing someone not as conservative as we'd ALL like, but this isn't the way to do it. You'll be hurting the Reupblicans, yes,... but hurting US ALL, ALL AMERICANS SO much worse.

sorry........I just don't get you guys, though you've both posted dandy answers to me myriad of times!

I'm sorry that you have handed yourself over to delusions Steve. McCain is definitely a conservative. Far more conservative than those who "talk" conservative and then pork belly up to the bar of OUR MONEY!!! McCain believes in marriage being between a man and a woman. Is that liberal? McCain has spent $0 on pork barrel spending and has rave reviews from every money watch group you can name. Is that liberal? McCain fought for our country and nearly paid the ultimate price. Is that liberal? McCain believes and votes pro-life. Is that liberal? McCain wants to drill and drill now. Is that liberal? McCain has vowed to reject any legislation with pork barrel spending, against the wishes of his "conservative" brethren. Is that liberal? Get a clue!!! Stop slandering an American hero.

Papa, Steve was right. McCain's a liberal. He has a long voting record and record of legislation that's exceedingly wretched. I'm not going to have this argument again because I DON'T want to hurt his chances. As it stands my vote(and Steve's?) is his to lose. I've been doing my best to stick up for him in the last two days because of the horrifying alternative, but I'm NOT going to be told he's a Conservative.

Amen to that Pris! The Senator from OK has been a real American hero for his efforts at stopping new programs and spending. I wish I could remember his name.

Bless you, Mr. Frank. I was not in favor of MdCain's candidacy, but after the performance he turned in at Saddleback, I'm sold.

I'm sorry, Morgan, but McCain is a LOT more conservative than GWB or his father ever were, and he's been a more effective legislator than any other Republican who still survives in Congress. (Ever notice how "our" party is ALWAYS complicit in the destruction of their brightest and best?)

Gotta STOP that, and stop it NOW.

I do hold McCain/Feingold against him. That was an esshead deal if ever there was one, and I didn't like the way he cozied up to The Water Boy and Her Heinous, BUT I can see now that he's probably been practicing the old saw that says, "Keep your friends close and your enemies closer."

Like it or not, Politics is the Art of Compromise.

I'll take a quantum leap and compare it to Wall Street: "The BULLS do well, the BEARS do well, but the PIGS get SLAUGHTERED."

In other words when we demand too much we often wind up with nothing.

It may be sad, but the truth is WE HAVE NO CHOICE BUT to VOTE for McCAIN.

Sincerely,

FreeThinke

Uhhhh OKAY. Like I said, I'd like to be done with the subject, so whatever you say.

Morgan -- why do you praise the senator from Oklahoma and disparage McCain when it is John McCain that has the best record on wasteful spending but the account of nearly every agency that watches our money?

Anonymous said...

I think Morgan is referring to either Senator Tom Coburn (R) , who is a baby doctor, by the way.

The other R from Oklahoma, whom I really like is Jim Inhofe.

Inhofe may not be a flowery orator but he is a good guy and quite the conservative type of man we like.

Very right .

The Obama must not get into the white house..very bad.

Fairness Doctrin expanded to the internet...control of our food, even more than it now is..oh man.

The lefties have no sense of humor.
I mean, look at Obama.

Amen to that Patsy! I like BOTH of their Senators and would swap them for mine in a NY minute. They're both GREAT on the 1st and 2nd Amendment and one of them's been TORTURING Harry Reid because he's been leading filibusters on all spending bills that are "unnecessary". Long story, but a good one.

We have to stop the bashing of McCain. I agree everyone has their opinion and I agree further that he is not the most conservative candidate possible. But first, a hardcore conservative would not have got elected this year so we would have Obama (you can thank the GOPs in congress for ruining the brand for now). Second, he is what we have and GOPers need to get on with their lives and either support McCain or vote for Obama. That is what the tearing down of McCain is.

Z said...

Chuck, "The tearing down of McCain" will be the tearing down of US if we don't vote against Obama. I totally agree with you.

Anonymous said...

I agree with the stop bashing remarks.
We will never like someone 100% on everything,,just won't happen.

Now, let us get it together and win this thing.

We have to.

Great conversation, all.

Don't we know that if informed conservatives and/or republicans, such as yourselves can't come together to support McCain, it will be to the detriment of our nation?

Of COURSE most of us would like someone much more conservative as a nominee, but it's just not the right time for that. It may never be. I simply don't see a Baldwin getting serious attention. (sorry, Steve.)

The louder conservatives are, the more we communicate with McCain (and he listens), the more influence we'll have in the long-run. Maybe I'm naive, but I feel this is true. He wants our input. We need to be united and show that if he wants our support, he needs to give attention to the issues we find most pressing.

To write him off, cross your arms and throw a tantrum, well, that's just chicken sh*t.

It is now Saturday night. By now, we have all had our daily O gasms...yes, it is Senator Joe Biden of Delaware, who will be the running mate..champion of all working men.

Anyhow, What I want to say is we need to heed what has happened here.
Watching what happens when there is a terrible infight going on for control of a party , look at the Northeastern liberals fighting with the Clintons and the other far left groups, screaming for a piece of action..
this is something we need to pay attention to.

When the factions and coalitions within start fighting for everything being their way all the time, this thing with Obama and Biden and the whole possible mess in Denver this week becomes highly probable.

This demanding of purity of a certain type of convservative or right winger or evangelical or what ever..it hurts the whole group and it needs to stop or be severely curtailed.

There is a time and place for it, but left too long it destroys.

Just an opinion, the old ..a house divided cannot stand thought to throw out there.

I think we can learn a lot here.
