"Like a River Glorious.."

I was introduced to this hymn Thursday and want to share it with you.

Like a river glorious, is God’s perfect peace,

Over all victorious, in its bright increase;
Perfect, yet it floweth, fuller every day,

Perfect, yet it groweth, deeper all the way.

Stayed upon Jehovah, hearts are fully blest
Finding, as He promised, perfect peace and rest.

Hidden in the hollow of His blessed hand,
Never foe can follow, never traitor stand;
Not a surge of worry, not a shade of care,
Not a blast of hurry touch the spirit there.

Stayed upon Jehovah, hearts are fully blest
Finding, as He promised, perfect peace and rest.

Every joy or trial falleth from above,
Traced upon our dial by the Sun of Love;
We may trust Him fully all for us to do.
They who trust Him wholly find Him wholly true.

Stayed upon Jehovah, hearts are fully blest
Finding, as He promised, perfect peace and rest....Charles Wesley

I'm hanging on this today. Maybe you know someone who could use it, too...

Public Service Announcement...Red Envelope Day

Have you heard of Red Envelope Day? On March 31, people are sending red envelopes to the White House in protest against abortion. However you stand on the subject, you might want to check this out. Just thought I'd pass it along.

On the back of the envelope, you're to write "This envelope represents one child who died because of an abortion. It is empty because the life that was taken is now unable to be a part of our world."

Nothing inside......just an envelope. For a child. Buy a greeting card that comes with a red envelope and just use the envelope; it's worth it. We aren't being listened to much these days, but we can do all we can, anyway.

I thought you might be interested in participating. If you're interested in an excellent pro life blog, check this one out. God bless.

Chuck Won!

I HATE THE MEDIA had a fantastic bunch of captions suggested when they showed a picture of Obama behind a teleprompter (or is that redundant?). They picked the best won and our CHUCK WON! I'd tell you his caption, but so many were really funny, you ought to treat yourself and read them all.... Congratulations, Chuck!

Could her death serve to protect future skiiers? Or would that be another chip at our freedoms? What do you think?

Should everyone who skis now wear a helmet? If five people a year die from a head injury from falling or hitting something while skiing, should all skiiers now wear helmets?

It's a horrible thing that happened
to the lovely and talented Natasha Richardson......May she rest in peace and my deepest sympathies to those who loved her. (the picture I selected might not be the glitziest, but it's my favorite of her)

Some will say wearing a helmet is cumbersome and that not all people should have to wear them because some die for having not worn them (though I don't personally believe wearing a hard helmet is going to protect you that much if you hit a tree trunk, but I don't know for sure)...Others will say that, if it saves lives in the future, perhaps the untimely deaths of Ms Richardson and Sonny Bono, too, might at least end up being somewhat for the good..?

What do you think? It's a kind of RIGHTS thing, isn't it? A kind of FREEDOM question?
Which side of that do you come down on?

"Bush's Brain", the 'Halliburton war monger', speaks out....

This is serious stuff, folks. Dick Cheney says a lot in this article that should be heeded, but it won't be, it will even be demeaned. Therein lies an enormous dilemma for these United States of America.

The Left will denounce him and all he said, and they can, because they KNOW that Cheney CANNOT counter attack the denouncements because he can't list details of attacks thwarted by the Bush administration (the reason of which I doubt the left can understand, considering the NY Times' spilling of classified information even when asked and told why it shouldn't be published). Even now, I'm sure someone here will accuse Cheney of lying, accuse him of hyperbole, thereby promoting his causes, accuse him of being an apologist for Bush's administration.

Can you imagine any Republican Press Secretary saying any of the following quote, ever?:

"I guess Rush Limbaugh was busy," Robert Gibbs, Obama's press secretary, said during his daily briefing to journalists at the White House. "So they trotted out the next most popular member of the Republican cabal." (Z: Somebody PLEASE tell Robt Gibbs that half the country (rising by the minute) does NOT agree with HIS basketball buddy, please? That he's just insulted the half of America that IS Republican? Does he really have that elitist hubris that they don't matter? That his bunch is THE BUNCH? That's so sad.)

Who's ever asked the Democrat party who speaks for them and what it stands for? But, we got this from this article..."It followed a speech delivered by Rush Limbaugh last month during which the conservative radio host said he hoped Obama's policies "failed," prompting Democrats to question who speaks for the Republican Party and what it stands for. In his interview, Cheney said of congressional Republicans that "it will take them a while to get their act together" in finding ways to criticize a popular young president." (Z: he didn't say a thing about the popular young president in that vain...nothing about that. They're getting their 'act together' was what every party which lost does. Picture Cheney saying "Ya, the Republicans just haven't got it together yet on criticizing a popular young president".)

Added Gibbs: "I think not taking economic advice from Dick Cheney would be maybe the best possible outcome of yesterday's interview." (Z: imagine the level of incivility? the mocking? Why insult so much? This is a PRESS SECRETARY TO THE PRESIDENT, not ANIMAL HOUSE antics......or IS it?)

The left's set it up perfectly, according to the Alinsky Rules of procedure....you all know that. When security is jeopardized by the Left, (remember the threatened Gitmo closing announcing it to the world without having figured out a safe place to keep murderers, the waterboarding prohibition, tribunals, etc.,) what does a country's people DO? And IF they 'do' something, they're attacked as ridiculous over-fearful nuts who are banding together like the Weather Underground or the Black Panthers but this time it's Conservative so it's mocked. (witness the negativity to Glenn Beck suggesting Americans meet in homes and remind ourselves of our history and talk about the constitution.."HOW THREATENING! Those nasty Conservatives!!"??)

In the name of TRANSPARENCY, in a world where ANY information is spread across the world in roughly two seconds, how can we (literally) survive the Eric Holder/Barack Obama/Sulzberger mentality of EVERYONE MUST KNOW OR WE'RE HIDING SOMETHING FROM THE PEOPLE!?

Do you know what I'm getting at here? They set Cheney up as the last laugh of the administration, "Bush's Brain", etc., so how can Americans sincerely interested in getting to the truth (centrists, independents, etc.) see through the insults and mischaracterizations? Most people drink the Kool Aid without asking.....they spout "Ya, Cheney..Halliburton....pompous...war monger.." It's pure Alinksy , and it's worked. There IS no "Obama....inexperienced...naive..." presented in the media, but the Cheney inferences are always there in overt or the subtlest of remarks on even front page, supposedly non editorial, pieces. Here's Alinsky's No. 5: Ridicule is man's most potent weapon.

It's our SAFETY at stake because of the Left's roadblock to real information, demeaning information from anyone who's not from the left...........and the media's complicit. What do we do? ..pretend there IS no terror threat like some do? Jeopardize the constitution with over-the-top secrecy? OR, stop the name calling, evil inferences, insults at anything the media abhors, keeping reporting REPORTING, not EDITORIALIZING to reflect the papers' viewpoints just to get the shots in to anybody who's not a liberal?

So, if Cheney is RIGHT, and we're not listening..........WHAT THEN?

(By the way, how is David RASPUTIN Axelrod NOT "Obama's Brain"??? and why's that not been discussed in the media? It will. I promise).

Happy St Patrick's Day to you all!

An Irish priest is driving down to New York and gets stopped for speeding in Connecticut . The state trooper smells alcohol on the priest's breath and then sees an empty wine bottle on the floor of the car.

He says, 'Sir, have you been drinking?'

'Just water,' says the priest.

The trooper says, 'Then why do I smell wine?'

The priest looks at the bottle and says, 'Sweet Lord Jay-sus! He's done it again!'

**************

Paddy was driving down the street in a sweat because he had an important meeting and couldn't find a parking place. Looking up to heaven he said, 'Lord take pity on me. If you find me a parking place I will go to Mass every Sunday for the rest of me life and give up me Irish Whiskey!'

Miraculously, a parking place appeared.

Paddy looked up again and said, 'Never mind, I found one.'

Soldiers' Medical Care........

Make sure you check out Mustang's post on Mr. Obama's plans for veteran's healthcare. Send it to bloggers and your email buddies who don't blog. This has to be stopped.

So, what do you think of this?

Tripoli's having an election. Well, I thought this looked like a GREAT method of keeping our campaign financing costs down..........................don't you!? (looks for a second like Dick Cheney's running, doesn't it!!?) z

Media Bias and George Bush......see it?

This was on the Yahoo Home Page the other day. Written by Mike Allen, from POLITICO:

Former President George W. Bush is preparing for one final struggle against the odds: raising $300 million for a presidential library, museum and policy institute at a time when dollars are tight and skepticism about his presidency runs high. (Z: Don't look now, but at least half of this country views Mr. Obama's presidency with skepticism, too....not just Bush's, TRUST me)

The former president and first lady have already begun holding small private dinners to persuade wealthy friends to invest in a monument and incubator based on the values and events of his presidency. By this fall, he’ll be armed with architect’s renderings and will hold travel around the country to meet with groups and build support for the complex on the campus of Southern Methodist University in Dallas. (Z: See the inference? Doesn't Clinton have wealthy friends? Obama? It's a small think for me to gripe about, but no one could think that is innocently written. Who's going to hit up POOR friends?)

Some of his new neighbors are less than thrilled with the plan, with a handful of history and political science professors lined up to criticize it.. But SMU fought hard to win the library, as one of eight original bidders and then four semi-finalists for the honor.(Z: STOP THE PRESSES...History and political science profs feel the need to criticize GEORGE BUSHS' library? I'm stunned...stunned, I say!)

“We’ve certainly had to defend our decision, but absolutely feel like it was the right one,” SMU’s president, R. Gerald Turner, told POLITICO. “The overall sentiment on the faculty is that whether they agreed with the president personally or not, it’s great to have these papers and this resource on campus.”

Bush has often gotten out of jams by dint of personal charm, and he’s trying that once again. Two weeks ago, to show he wants to get involved in the SMU community, Bush made a surprise visit to political science professor Harold Stanley’s 9:30 a.m. “Intro to American Government and Politics” class. (Z: "personal charm"...so, this is a media which disdains Bush's charms ...even if they ever mentioned them....but Obama's Greek columns and the hysteria over his 'charisma' and glistening abs is okay?)

Turner accompanied him and asked the 29 sleepy students, “Do you recognize the 43rd president of the United States?”

Bush talked for 10 minutes and took questions for another 50, on everything from the stimulus to banking to whether he had seen the Oliver Stone movie “W” (no) to whether diversity was a goal when he was picking his Cabinet (he said he went for the best person).(Z: what a novel concept; too bad that didn't continue, huh?....how's about a comment on how outstanding that was?)

One woman advised him to use lots of anecdotes when he’s writing his upcoming book about the big decisions he made during his presidency.

The personal touch worked – the kids lapped it up and hung around him afterward.(Z; must be that 'charm', couldn't be they actually got to understand him and like him, right?)

More....The president’s advisers are still chewing over what topics to emphasize. Iraq is unlikely to be one of them. Advisers say they have made a specific decision to leave that verdict to history and not try to defend it at a time when Iraq could still wind up as either a democracy or a disaster. (Z: Maybe, some day, the new wing of his library will be dedicated totally to the free Iraq he had helped develop; except obama will take the credit for this...scratch that)

Evans said an umbrella topic will be the role of government in a capitalist democracy. But even that may seem a little dated, given the rising role of government in all parts of business – a trend that began on Bush’s watch. (Z: right)

There's more here............

Bias or not? You be the judge. Yes, I sound a little too biased but, considering I've not liked a LOT of what Bush did (amnesty, TARP, etc.), this kind of reporting still makes me grit my teeth. And this is from Mike Allen! Please, just BE HONEST, do NOT lead readers with slurs and inferences. TRY, media, please TRY!?

"LAW OF THE SEA TREATY?" Heard of it yet? You ready for this....?

Why are we DOING this kind of thing? Did the Left have a whole drawer full of "hate America first" legislation, old treaties, laws, etc., that it couldn't live without all these years and figured "now's the time!"? WHY? Check this out from the article:

"The Senate is gearing up to ratify a Nixon-era U.N. treaty meant to create universal laws to govern the seas -- a treaty critics say will create a massive U.N. bureaucracy that could even claim powers over American waterways.

LOST -- the U.N. Convention on the Law of the Sea, also called the Law of the Sea Treaty -- regulates all things oceanic, from fishing rights, navigation lanes and environmental concerns to what lies beneath: the seabed's oil and mineral wealth that companies hope to explore and exploit in coming years.

But critics say the treaty, which declares the sea and its bounty the "universal heritage of mankind," would redistribute American profits and have a reach extending into rivers and streams all the way up the mighty Mississippi."

Now, get a load of THIS:

"You have to pay royalties on the value of anything you extract (from the deep seabed), those royalties to be distributed as the new bureaucracy sees fit, primarily to landlocked countries and underdeveloped countries," said Steven Groves, a fellow at the conservative Heritage Foundation. American money would also go to fund the International Seabed Authority, which Groves warned "would have the potential to become the most massive U.N. bureaucracy on the planet." (z: "..to landlocked and underdeveloped countries? whaaaat??)

"The whole theory of the treaty is that the world's oceans and everything below them are the common heritage of mankind," said Groves. "Very socialist.""

What good could possibly come from THIS? For American, that is....if anybody still cares.
