Sunday Faith Blog....

John Adams, who became the nation's second president once, wrote: "Suppose a nation in some distant region should take the Bible for their only law book, and every member should regulate his conduct by the precepts there exhibited! Every member would be obliged in conscience, to temperance, frugality, and industry; to justice, kindness, and charity towards his fellow men; and to piety, love, and reverence toward Almighty God...What a Utopia, what a Paradise would this region be."

I suppose Christians would still call themselves Christians as they picked and chose from the Bible for whatever pleased them and condemned "that mean old God who actually had the nerve to kill people in the Old Testament" ...completely ignoring that He IS God and they can't have a clue what He's up to...

But what a better world.........where people didn't hurt others, where children looked up to parents who actually deserved their respect, where people gave from their hearts when someone was sick or otherwise needy, where conscience and true wisdom helped us make better, healthier choices in our lives.......funny, those things were the 'rule' not that many years ago, weren't they.   Something's happened to us only very recently on such a wide scale basis in our very progressive, intellectual hopes of dissing anything Christian or embracing Christianity without embracing, and even insulting, the ONLY (I mean only) way Christians are informed...the Bible.  ("prey, what other way?" as Adams might have asked).

"He mocks proud mockers but gives grace to the humble."  Proverbs 3:34

Have a beautiful Sunday.......think of John Adams' words........"obliged to conscience" again in America, humbled by the Word of God.   Imagine?

Put HIM in charge!

"PUT ME IN CHARGE "  (NOT written by Z).
. .
Put me in charge of food stamps. I'd get rid of food stamp cards; no cash for Ding Dongs or Ho Ho's, just money for 50-pound bags of rice and beans, blocks of cheese and away. If you want steak and frozen pizza, then get a job.
Put me in charge of government housing. Ever live in a military barracks? You will maintain our property in a clean and good state of repair.
Your " home" will be subject to inspections anytime and possessions will be inventoried. If you want a plasma TV or Xbox 360, then get a job and your own place.
In addition, you will either present a check stub from a job each week or you will report to a "government" job. It may be cleaning the roadways of trash, painting and repairing public housing, whatever we find for you. We will sell your 22 inch rims and low profile tires and your blasting stereo and speakers and put that money toward the "common good.."
Before you write that I've violated someone's rights, realize that all of the above is voluntary. If you want our money, accept our rules. Before you say that this would be "demeaning" and ruin your "self esteem," consider that it wasn't that long ago that taking someone else's money for doing absolutely nothing was demeaning and lowered self esteem.
If we are expected to pay for other people's mistakes we should at least attempt to make them learn from their bad choices. The current system rewards them for continuing to make bad choices.
AND while you are on Gov't subsistence, you no longer can VOTE! Yes, that is correct. For you to vote would be a conflict of interest. You will voluntarily remove yourself from voting while you are receiving a Gov't welfare check. If you want to vote, then get a job.
Lets put an end to this bullshit once and for all!  Damn it.

Signed,  The New King.

Obama "Punching above his weight!" ?

If I haven't blogged this before, I meant to....Please watch most of it, you will crack up.  Except it's an American president and so this is rather embarrassing.

I have to admit I seriously had higher hopes for Obama because they tell us how intelligent and well educated he is......I also figure that it gets tough figuring out something fresh and new to say to each dignitary as they roll through the White House, but this seems curious to me.......Really?....the same exact and rather peculiar, memorable adjectives and descriptions for every smallish country?  I don't think this sends a great signal to the world, but I don't think Americans know about this, of course....the Danes do.

Independence Day....Abraham Lincoln's reminder

Abraham Lincoln, anguished by the ravages of the Civil War, declared a "Proclamation of a National Fast Day," on March 30, 1863, and I thought his words were appropriate today, on Independence Day, 2012:

Whereas it is the duty of nations as well as of men to own their dependence upon the overruling power of God, to confess their sins and transgressions in humble sorrow, yet with assured hope that genuine repentance will lead to mercy and pardon, and to recognize the sublime truth, announced in the Holy Scriptures and proven by all history, that those nations only are blessed whose God is the Lord......
...We have been the recipients of the choicest bounties of Heaven;  we have been preserved these many years in peace and prosperity;  we have grown in numbers, wealth, and power as no other nation has ever grown.  But we have forgotten God.  We have forgotten the gracious hand which preserved us in peace and multiplied and enriched and strengthened us, and we have vainly imagined, in the deceitfulness of our hearts, that all these blessings were produced by some superior wisdom and virtue of our own.  Intoxicated with unbroken success, we have become too self-sufficient  to feel the necessity of redeeming and preserving grace, too proud to pray to the God that made us.
It behooves us, then, to humble ourselves before the offended Power, to confess our national sins, and to pray for clemency and forgiveness."

Have a thoughtful, enjoyable Independence Day............

Obama call for campaign money.......

I believe THIS is an excellent way for Obama to raise campaign cash...... Just have the media get the news out that he's fearful of being outspent and needs more money.  It's a terrific way to squeeze  money out of his base without his campaign spending any money, don't you think?

I also got to thinking about how Obama can pretty much say what he wants about all of this and nobody's really checking, nobody holds his feet to any fires.

But, my main point here being his mentioning the Koch Brothers with the clear and obvious disdain all leftwingers show while the best kept secret ever is  George Soros' probable enormous support of Obama.   Yet, when Conservatives mention George Soros and any connection to Obama, the Left goes into overdrive ridiculing, asking how we're sure of any connection, etc., etc., etc.   (I even have to say 'probable' because very little information comes out of Soros or the leftwing causes he supports with very big money....with the groups Soros is known to report, it's not a leap to think he's not supporting Romney!)

A troubling thing is that Obama, in that linked article above,  mentions the Koch Brothers by name...Does that strike you as unseemly and a little unpresidential?  He also knocks FOX fairly often and particular conservative pundits by name, which seems like a new 'presidential habit' and one I think which demeans the office of the president.   In italics are particular sentences I wanted to address:

"We just can't be outspent 10 to 1," Obama said. "That's what happened in Wisconsin recently. The Koch brothers and their allies spent more than the other side's entire campaign, our side's entire campaign.

Z:  How about admitting that maybe the people who voted gave a lot more money in pursuit of success?

An Obama campaign official confirmed the veracity of the recording to ABC News, describing the meeting as a "routine finance call." (Obama uses a non-taxpayer-funded phone for political calls from the plane, the official said.)

Z:  If it's "routine," why the article?  Using a non-taxpayer-funded phone is the appropriate thing to do.  Is it the Obama campaign officials who should 'confirm the veracity' of that or is this more of Holder assigning his own guys to investigate himself?   These days, the media hears anything from Obama's White House and says "oky doky!"

The Romney campaign is expected to report raising more than $100 million in June. Obama campaign officials said they don't expect the president to match that number, but declined to offer specifics on their monthly haul.

Z:  But they'll mention to the penny what Romney has brought in and, remember, Romney raised a heck of a lot of money in the first few hours after the Supreme Court decision......Obama's saying his numbers went up then, too, but his campaign won't say how much.    They're never accountable but they'll hold Romney to it.

"We might not out-raise Mitt Romney," Obama wrote Saturday morning in an email with the subject line "This is important." "But I am determined to keep the margin close enough that we can win this election the right way."

And then there's THIS article which starts with:  George Clooney has signed on for another special guest appearance as the Barack Obama re-election campaign takes its summer fundraising tour across the Atlantic in pursuit of Euro-cash.   By the way, will Palestinians be operating phone banks for Obama this time around, too?

Is THAT what's meant by "the right way?"    Right way versus..............???

Politics Made Simple:

Political Systems Made Simple

FEUDALISM: You have bacon. The lord comes and takes the bacon. And your last pig. You get a potato.

PURE SOCIALISM: You have some bacon. Your neighbor does not. The government takes your bacon and gives it to the neighbor. You have to take a second job to bring home the bacon so you can continue to supply the non working neighbor with your bacon.

BUREAUCRATIC SOCIALISM: You have some bacon. The government takes half of it to give to the neighbor with none. The bacon is then managed by a Bacon Czar with a large staff. The Bacon Czar is a vegan. With the ensuing paperwork, and the latent inability of the Bacon Czar to actually handle the bacon, the bacon goes bad and is thrown out.

FASCISM: You have a little bit of bacon. The government takes it, and offers to sell you the oink.

PURE COMMUNISM: You have bacon. Your neighbor works to help you get more bacon and you share in it, even though he eats twice as much as you and does half the amount of work.

RUSSIAN COMMUNISM: You have bacon. The government takes it and gives you a potato.

DICTATORSHIP: You have bacon. The government takes it and drafts you. You get MRE's. They do not contain bacon.

PURE DEMOCRACY: You have bacon. You vote with your neighbors as to how your bacon should be protected.

REPRESENTATIVE DEMOCRACY: You have some bacon. You elect someone to vote on how best to ensure you get more bacon.

LIBERAL SOCIETY: You don't like bacon so I don't get any.

BUREAUCRACY: You have bacon. The government makes a new food pyramid that tell you when you should eat the bacon and how often. It then pays you not to eat the bacon and takes it and throws it away, after you have filled out a form to pay your bacon tax for the bacon that you no longer have.

CALIFORNIA BUREAUCRACY: In California, bacon contains nitrates and fats that may be bad for people who have no willpower. So no one gets bacon.

PROGRESSIVISM: You have bacon. The government takes it and gives you a receipt.

ANARCHY: You have bacon. You try and sell the bacon to others so you survive or others with big pointy things simply take the bacon and kill you.

MONARCHY: We have bacon because you love us and want us to have bacon. Smile. Wave.

CAPITALISM: You have bacon. Strengthened by bacon, you work harder and buy a whole damn pig.

MUCH OF THE MIDDLE EAST: Bacon is unclean. Die infidel.

MAOISM - We are Urban Working Class. What is bacon??

Obama and crack cocaine

Check out the president's nose in this picture that illustrated one of the articles dealing with my subject below....After I printed this here, I noticed that the plaque on the painting behind him reads as if his nose is growing.......I'd say that's fairly appropriate for our Pinnochio in Chief!?   Sorry, but I thought that was funny!   Now to the point of my post regarding the president and crack cocaine:

The words in italics below are from an article from EDUCATION NEWS:
Valerie Jarrett makes unreported remarks in meeting with media:
President Obama’s top aide, Valerie Jarrett, reportedly boasted to the black community that the administration sharply reduced the sentencing disparity for possession of crack cocaine instead of powder.

Jarrett made the remarks at a meeting of black journalists and columnists last weekend clearly aimed at Obama’s re-election efforts. Mainstream media outlets covering the event did not report on her comments regarding crack cocaine.

On Saturday, Jarrett engaged in a wide-ranging interview session with a group of journalists at the National Association of Black Journalists convention in New Orleans.

The Root, a website owned by the Washington Post aimed at the black community, reprinted a blog report by the Maynard Institute’s Richard Prince on Jarrett’s appearance at the convention. (Z: You'll want to read that in its entirety)

Prince reported that at the meeting Jarrett outlined “what she considered the Obama administration’s successes.”    Continued Prince: “Among them funding for historically black colleges and universities; health care reform, which she said will disproportionately help African-Americans; and reducing disparities between penalties for possession of crack and for powdered cocaine.”

Before anyone starts in how The Root must be a Conservative rag, please know it's a Black-focused paper owned by The Washington Post.   I have to salute this venue for having admitted that, after Jarrett's talk, "Some rolled their eyes. "Why not just send a [campaign] video?" one said. "That was out of line," said another afterward." I particularly honor THE ROOT because most outlets completely overlooked the part about cocaine.  Another media cover-up of something Americans should hear.  Is this really a good thing for the Black community or is it actually true racism at its core?

Sunday Faith Blog...

"Government protecting the good of the people and staying out of their economic affairs was what Thomas Jefferson claimed to be "good government."

Still one more thing, fellow-citizen, a wise and frugal government, which shall restrain men from injuring one another, shall leave them otherwise free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned.  This is the sum of good government; and this is necessary to close the circle of our felicities. (Jefferson)

Scripture teaches that government is ordained by God to punish evildoers and praise those who do right.  Government was not given absolute sovereignty over man.  It must function within its limits to be most effective."

From "It's Time to Remember, America!"  Michael R. Myers.

"...which God will bring about in his own time —God, the blessed and only Ruler, the King of kings and Lord of lord,.."    1 Timothy 6:15.

We can't guess what God is up to today with all that's going on, but I am certain He will bring about something in His own time which shows His sovereignty and power and will bless us.  He will "close the circle of our felicities," in some way; of this I am certain.

Have a great Sunday...keep praying for our country, she sure needs it.
(Could it really be JULY already?!)
