I was driving down Wilshire Blvd this morning and saw a NAVY RECRUITING CENTER with, parked in front, 5 of the biggest Harleys I think I've ever seen. Accompanying those enormous shiny black or navy blue Harleys were 5 of the biggest American vets I think I've ever seen. One was in khakis, three were in denim from head to toe, which, come to think of it, is about where their pony tails reached to, and another had on civilian clothing.
All of them were there to protect the recruiting center from CODE PINK
The vets had a large American flag flying from one of the Harleys and sheets of paper on their hog windscreens that had Code Pink written on them WITH a circle with a line through it! They told me they follow Code Pink around, but Code Pink publishes the times and addresses of where they'll be and then changes that so they befuddle these riders.
One rider told me "Last week they said they were coming here, so we got twenty bikes here, but Code Pink didn't show up.............so we just went to their house!" These guys don't 'befuddle' easy.
It was a privilege and an honor to shake hands with and talk to these guys....and well worth going around the block again and risking having parked in an illegal spot just to make sure I could talk to them before they might have left. I found out that NO WAY were they about to leave.
Patriot Guard Riders Mission Statement
The Patriot Guard Riders is a diverse amalgamation of riders from across the nation. We have one thing in common besides motorcycles. We have an unwavering respect for those who risk their very lives for America’s freedom and security. If you share this respect, please join us.We don’t care what you ride or if you ride, what your political views are, or whether you’re a hawk or a dove. It is not a requirement that you be a veteran. It doesn't matter where you’re from or what your income is; you don’t even have to ride. The only prerequisite is Respect.
Our main mission is to attend the funeral services of fallen American heroes as invited guests of the family. Each mission we undertake has two basic objectives.1. Show our sincere respect for our fallen heroes, their families, and their communities.2. Shield the mourning family and their friends from interruptions created by any protestor or group of protestors. We accomplish the latter through strictly legal and non-violent means.
To those of you who are currently serving and fighting for the freedoms of others, at home and abroad, please know that we are backing you. We honor and support you with every mission we carry out, and we are praying for a safe return home for all.

Did you read that there was an explosion outside a military recruiting office today in Times Square?
Yeah, they're 'against violence'...just like the PETA folks who injured people and property in the promotion of their agenda..
They are ALL of the same mindset: the ends 'justify' the means...no matter HOW contradictory they are to the supposed 'message'...
Pati
Thank you to the Patriot Guard Riders. Some of us talk, others of us DO. Keep up the good work, and God bless you.
Hi Pati, we can't forget ELF, another domestic terrorist group who decided it was their calling to burn down model homes because they weren't "green" enough.
Pris
Actually, Pati, I asked these guys if they knew about Time Sq and if that was why they were there, that's then the CODE PINK signs came out of their knapsacks, etc., and they told me about that!
Ya, "against violence" as long nobody does anything to cross them, right?
Pris...right about ELF..good point. There's any NUMBER of groups who are SO high browed about saving the environment and keeping soldiers from dying but they'll insult the soldiers and burn down peoples' homes..... Their actions reveal them.
I just LOVED how, as Pris says, these guys are putting their money where their mouth is. I like that a group like Code Pink is confounded! I LOVED when he said "....so we just went to their house!" HA!!
God bless people who have hard exteriors and hearts of gold!!!
Great phrase, Frank Family...they were terrific men and you could FEEL their patriotism and their mannerisms of preparedness for anything that was going to insult a soldier. They were 'charged' almost...sparkling with it, like a Fourth of July sparkler...all prickly and sharp and bright with anticipation. God bless them. It was a wonderful experience to talk with them...I am SO glad I parked the car and went out to meet them.

Call me petty. Call me picky. Call me irrelevant. Call me anything you like, but whenever I see the words "diverse" or "diversity" these days I am usually stopped dead in my tracks, and turn away in disgust.
Why must we be stuck with these overworked buzzwords? Why can't we go back to using our rich, varied and colorful English vocabulary? Why must we allow ourselves to be "dumbed-down?"
Instead, let us say, "We come from many and varied backgrounds, or "We come from various backgrounds," or "We come from heterogeneous backgrounds," or "
We come from all walks of life," or even, "We are a motley crew representing all strata of society," or "Our group is made up of many different kinds of people from many different places."
Say ANYTHING but "DIVERSE."
As for the rest of it, I am in total sympathy with countering leftist demonstrations effectively by using any means short of vandalism, mayhem and murder.
Anonymous! That cracked me up!
So, 'murder' is okay, just don't say someone was 'blown away' or 'snuffed out'...!?
Well, 'diverse' CERTAINLY should come with a warning that says "BEWARE, THIS USED TO BE AN ACCEPTABLE WORD BUT THE PC THING'S MADE IT SOMETHING ALTOGETHER DIFFERENT!"
Hi Z, nice to see this group get a mention here. They are known for countering the activities of that Westboro Baptist group, the Phelps family, who picket the funerals of American soldiers to protest the acceptance of homosexuals in the military. I've never been able to figure out the logic of tormenting the family of a dead soldier over the wrong actions of the US government, but even less their logic in picketing the funeral of the rape-murder victim Brianna Denison in Reno a couple weeks ago. Something about Reno being a wicked city, but then it seemed they were saying it's wicked BECAUSE the Patriot Guard Riders who oppose them were going to be here to oppose them about this too. But why would they be here if the Westboro group weren't, and why would they picket this poor girl's funeral anyway? There is no military connection that I'm aware of. It's completely nuts. Anyway, hooray for the PGR!
Connie
Hi, CJ....you're right..this group is great. And they make sure not to take political sides, only "don't mess with ANYBODY related to a US soldier who serves or gave his life for YOU...don't EVEN..." They're like angels surrounding the recruiting centers which are there for young people who feel so much love for this (once)God-blessed country that they want to help protect her.
I didn't know angels could LOOK like that!(smile) Great guys, all.
Frickin' A, Z!!!
I would be compelled to buy these patriots a cup of coffee... It would be the very least I could do.
G-d bless em! We need more just like them.
Morgan
This is almost as good as when the Cuban Americans pay a visit to the Code Pink crowd.

Times Square was likely the work of a
renegade member of the group Critical Mass. Those freaks ride around NYC with masks and taunt law enforcement and local residents.
Beak....Do you think the Times Sq thing was not tied to those letters the congressmen got at the very same time? "We did it!" WHAT a coincidence!
A few weeks ago, photos of that same recruiting office were found in the backpacks (along with anarchy books) of some guys trying to enter Canada..coincidence? The Feds are so confused the news was they weren't sure if the 'people' trying to cross the border got away when apprehended or are apprehended.
I think this is all like suggesting finding RICIN in a hotel room along with anarchy books AND fire arms is no big deal, "isn't terrorism" ....this is nuts. I hope we're all wrong and DHLS is better than THIS.
there've been a couple of funerals for vets in our little area and these guys have been present - there was a guy a couple of years ago that i'd visit with who is a patriot rider at fpm - went by the name "fredc" - do you ever see him there, z?
if you do, tell him i said, "howdy!"
nanc....There is a Fred, but no Fredc...I don't remember him..?
Beak, like trying to hang brains on the tip of a KKK hood, huh?
slippery slope..........
it was over two years ago - don't mistake him for "fredsomething".
