I am Mitt Romney

...and I'd like to address Z's readers here at geeeZ...I see you're mostly all bright and love America and some of you have major doubts about me.   Z said she wouldn't mind if I had my say, so here it goes:


Let me just get this out of the way:  I'm a pretty wealthy man.  Yes, my wife Ann has two Cadillacs, one at our East Coast home, and one at our West Coast home.   I've received some flack for that but wonder why.  Isn't it good to "buy American?"  And buy American twice?  What's the downside?  Why insult me for it?  And isn't it good to succeed in America?  I've worked hard, you work hard.  We need to get jobs going so we can ALL work hard and see the American cogs turning again...get us pumping oil, get our small businesses too busy to fill orders~  That is the America I think we can have again!

I'm also a Mormon, so let's get by that as fast as we can so we can get down to what's really important in America.  I'm not running for Pastor in Chief.   Period.  My faith is my faith, yours is yours.  Enough said.  I respect most religions, if not all, and I happen to be a Mormon.  Sorry if you turn from me for that, but I can't help that.

Having said all that, let's get to the important stuff;   Something that's been said about me is that I have fired people as if I like to fire people.  What you need to know is I only fire those who don't deserve to be working at their job.  Firing anybody was never done out of caprice, it was out of sound business practice.  If I need you and you do your job, you're not getting fired.  Nobody should in that case. If someone likes firing people they need to be institutionalized. 

I was a governor of Massachusetts.  I was a Conservative who won in Massachusetts, imagine that?  Maybe I can with the national in November because of that.  I believe I did the right thing for Massachusetts and things went pretty well in that state.  Except for health care.

I am sorry for the health care program I signed into being in Massachusetts.  I'm sorry mostly because it was the springboard for the large, awful Obama Health Care Plan which I do not support.  Yes, you might say I screwed up in Massachusetts' health care and you  might be right.   That's the past, and this is now.   I don't want an Obama-like health insurance situation in America because nobody should be told what to do in regard to his health care. Or anything else, for that matter.   And, I think most Americans agree, at least from what I can see in the polls, that their health care will cost more if this plan goes into affect, and it'll be worse health care.  I'm against it.  You can condemn me for Massachusetts but that's in the past and I want to move on.    I don't call that flip flopping, I call that learning from mistakes and being man enough to admit it.

Rick and Newt are good acquaintances of mine and have been for some time.   I wish them well but they can't beat Obama.  Rick's values are excellent but they're being mischaracterized by a blood-smelling leftwing media and the American public sometimes listen to the media more than they listen to the words out of candidates' mouths.  Sad, but true.  The media will slaughter Santorum.   Newt's a nut.  He's the smartest guy in any room but he's got an ego the size of Georgia and has tons of plans but doesn't implement well.  I like both of their opinions and hope to make use of them in my White House, but none of us will get the White House out of Obama's hands unless they stand behind me and let me get elected.

I AM A REPUBLICAN but WHO CARES?   We need an AMERICAN who will stop the socialist creep that has been brought by our, well.........socialist creep, President Obama!  We need to move forward and not play PARTIES.  We need to choose someone who wants to bring America back to its senses;  not gut the military, not force anybody to do anything, not to apologize to our enemies, not stand in the way of businesses, not slam capitalism, not condemn people like the cops in Harvard before getting the facts, not letting Panthers who did intimidate voters go free, not building a racial or class divide in America, the country which developed and grew on the premise that there should be no divides!

Americans...listen to me, please!  You may not think much of me, but I think a lot of you and I'm counting on you to stop listening only to the mainstream media and start listening to all sides of every position and then deciding what to do.  We need better COMMUNITY, but not community organizers!  We need to respect Democrats like they haven't respected Republicans in 30 years, and educate them, remind them that this is a country built not on dependency, but INdependence.

America.......wise up.   I may not be your first pick, but I'm hoping you pick me and we can move on ....  beyond division, beyond anger, beyond Obama.

SOLAR ACTIVITY: Big sunspot AR1429 has unleashed another major flare--an X5-class eruption on March 7th at 00:28 UT.   As a result of the blast, a radiation storm is underway and a CME will likely hit Earth's magnetic field in a day or so. Sandra Fluke is being sold by the left as something she's not. Namely a random co-Ed from Georgetown law who found herself mixed up in the latest front of the culture war who was simply looking to make sure needy women had access to birth control. That, of course, is not the case.

As many have already uncovered Sandra Fluke she is, in reality, a 30 year old long time liberal activist who enrolled at Georgetown with the express purpose of fighting for the school to pay for students' birth control. She has been pushing for mandated coverage of contraceptives at Georgetown for at least three years according to the Washington Post.

However, as I (Stephen Gutowski) discovered today, birth control is not all that Ms. Fluke believes private health insurance must cover. She also, apparently, believes that it is discrimination deserving of legal action if "gender reassignment" surgeries are not covered by employer provided health insurance. She makes these views clear in an article she co-edited with Karen Hu in the Georgetown Journal of Gender and the Law.

The title of the article, which can be purchased in full here, is Employment Discrimination Against LGBTQ Persons and was published in the Journal's 2011 Annual Review. I have posted a transcript of the section I will be quoting from here. In a subsection of the article entitled "Employment Discrimination in Provision of Employment Benefits" starting on page 635 of the review Sandra Fluke and her co-editor describe two forms of discrimination in benefits they believe LGBTQ individuals face in the work place:

"Discrimination typically takes two forms: first, direct discrimination limiting access to benefits specifically needed by LGBTQ persons, and secondly, the unavailability of family-related benefits to LGBTQ families."

Their "prime example" of the first form of discrimination? Not covering sex change operations:

"A prime example of direct discrimination is denying insurance coverage for medical needs of transgender persons physically transitioning to the other gender."

This so called "prime example" of discrimination is expounded on in a subsection titled "Gender Reassignment Medical Services" starting on page 636:

"Transgender persons wishing to undergo the gender reassignment process frequently face heterosexist employer health insurance policies that label the surgery as cosmetic or medically unnecessary and therefore uncovered."

To be clear, the argument here is that employers are engaging in discrimination against their employees who want them to pay for their sex changes because their "heterosexist" health insurance policies don't believe sex changes are medically necessary.

Additionally Sandra Fluke and her co-editor have an answer for why exactly these "heterosexist" insurance policies, and the courts that side with them, deem sex changes as medically unnecessary:

"In Mario v. P & C Food Markets, Inc., an employee who was denied such coverage brought claims under the federal Employee Retirement Income Security (ERISA) and Title VII. The court rejected the ERISA claim, finding the plaintiff's mastectomy and hormone therapy were not medically necessary. The court's ruling was based upon controversy within the medical community regarding that treatment plan. Much of that controversy has been linked to ignorance and bias against transgender persons, and the American Medical Association has declared the lack of coverage to be discrimination."

You see, all opposition to the determination that sex changes are medically necessary, and therefor must be covered by private employer provided health insurance, is based on "ignorance and bias against transgender persons".

The section on discrimination against those seeking gender reassignment ends with Sandra Fluke and her co-editor wondering why more lawsuits aren't filed against private employers on these grounds. Especially in comparison to the frequency with which these types of cases are filed against Medicare, Medicaid, and even the prison system:

"The reason for this lack of cases is unclear. Private employee insurance plans do not more frequently cover this need, so it may be a sign that transgender employees do not see the courts as likely to provide any assistance against private employers."

The argument made in this article edited by Sandra Fluke and Karen Hu is quite clear. "Gender reassignment" is a medically necessary set of procedures that must be covered under employee provided health insurance policies. If it is not covered by those policies that is tantamount to discrimination and legal action should be taken against the employer.

So, as you can see, Sandra Fluke is not what she is being sold as. Instead she is a liberal activist pushing some rather radical ideas. Keep that in mind as the left holds her up in the spotlight.

Z:  By the way, what kind of birth control costs any woman the $3000 Fluke said it did?   You're right...no way.     This is all agenda, not helping women.  Women can get help at any clinic nearby.  This is about sanctioning the creepiest things around.     How do they DO this?  How do they find radical leftists making no sense, standing up for lies and exaggeration, AND WIN the debate?

Netanyahu and AIPAC

Don't look now, Mr. Obama, but I THINK Mr. Netanyahu heard all you've had to say and appreciates your sanctions on Iran becoming even more tough than Bush's these last few years, and might have thanked you at the White House for all your promises..(thanked you for "we've got Israel's back," and "Iran's getting nukes is not an option,") but I think he just told AIPAC last night (text of the speech is in the link) that, basically, "This is the first time Israel's actually got the goods to stop Iran from getting nukes and WILL USE THEM."   

Did anybody here see Netanyahu's important speech to AIPAC? (only covered by FOX, not CNN or MSNBC, of course).  Ya, I think he told Obama to go fly a kite with the promises because, if push comes to shove, Isreal's "unlike any other time in history, now equipped to do it alone."

The Guardian article (first link above) suggests that this visit with Obama was mostly a win for Netanyahu because Palestine was barely mentioned in their talks.  Also, it suggests that America's got equipment like bunker busters that can take Iran's nuke sites out and Netanyahu's saying "you don't have to do it, just give us the busters and we will do it."


What do you think will happen?   Netanyahu talked about how some are more willing to wait for Iran to decide what to do than consider the safety of Israel and the rest of the world first.  That was pretty powerful.

What a way to start a week........

I want you all to give this video a look....if you're not into this kind of music, give it another two minutes and then click off....I have a hunch it'll pull you in and you'll want to watch more!  I sure did!

Breitbart said it so well...

I'm more than sorry for the fairly few but really nasty "F*** him" send offs Andrew got this week....really sorry.   They are, at best, despicable.  No human being should rejoice over anyone's death.  One classless person I've read says he thinks Andrew killed himself with an overdose of cocaine.  Unbelievable.  I guess the Left just attributes all sorts of their traits to those they hate; if they'd only just see a shrink about it instead.  As some of the more 'thinking' liberals who knew him and disagreed with him said, one might not like his politics, but one had to like him, to  admire his charisma, compassion, his drive and his belief in the Conservative cause.  I believe that the way Conservatives correctly criticized, for example, the way the Lefties treated the death of Tony Snow, caused the Lefties, mostly, to hold their tongues about Andrew, to even try to show some class.   Or is it that he just plain was right in what he said below and some DO understand that even through their stubborn ideology?   I like to think that's the case because, whether you loved or hated Breitbart, what he said below was truth:

Z: He's not finished yet, of course, his partners and many others will carry his banner........maybe, even, fairly soon, with some pretty important revelations.   He was a liberal when he was younger, couldn't take the bias he saw in the media against the Right, started studying politics, loved this country and its founding fathers, and decided he must be a Conservative...and, brother, did he run with it then!

Obama apparently thinks his apology to Karzai 'calmed things down'...HOW many died after the apology, before they calmed down?   Anybody want to link to anything to show it calmed anything down?   Of course, you can't prove that things were going to get worse, can you.
