Actress Marion Cotillard sparked a political row yesterday after accusing America of fabricating the 9/11 attacks.
The 32-year-old French actress, who received an Oscar last month for her performance as singer Edith Piaf in La Vie En Rose, openly questioned the truth behind the terrorist atrocity in an interview broadcast on a French website.
"I think we're lied to about a number of things," Cotillard said, singling out the 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center as an example of the US making up horror stories for political ends.
She added that the towers, planned in the early Sixties, were an outdated "money-sucker" that would have cost more to modernise than to rebuild altogether, which is why they were destroyed.

Cotillard's stardom and increased earning power looked assured following her Oscar win. But after her outburst, in which she also queried the 1969 Moon landings, a successful future in Hollywood appears to be in jeopardy.

I think these Hollyweird moonbats just do that to impress their friends. They're the type who will submit to peer pressure. If their friends are doing something they'll go along with it in a heartbeat. Drugs? Gimme some! Show your private parts? Sounds like fun! Talk total trash about your country? Yeah... There was a small group of about 200 actors/producers, etc etc. who met last Fall, in Hollywood, headed by Kelsey Grammar and Patricia Heaton and some others, meeting to get traditional values back into our TV and film. Guess what! Orson Bean and his wife are friends of ours (his wife Alley Mills played the Mom in THE WONDER YEARS) anyway...great woman, ...and they said the last shindig they attended for this group had ONE THOUSAND people !! There's something happening..we aren't hearing about it. YET. (Orson's son in law is Andrew Breitbart)

Reading her comments on the burning aspect , sounds like she got all her lessons on towers from Rosie O'Donnell.
And really , think about the little stars who participated in raising money for the victims of 9-11, no, this lady might have stepped right into something.

It just dawned on me...she thinks the developer/owners would risk KILLING thousands of people because SHE thinks the building was old and had to be refurbished? I mean, I thought CONSPIRACY stories like "Bush needed a reason to go into Iraq and paid these guys to do it" were bad...but, she's REALLY over the top. I always wonder about people with this kind of mentality...don't y'all think you almost have to be able to DO something that evil yourself to imagine someone else could?
All well and good, but I don't think it's a good idea to confuse Art with the people who produce it.
Good Art is still good, even if it's produced by a person of poor moral character and vice versa.

Free Thinker; we've talked about this before. Edith Piaf's film is depressing but this actress was FANTASTIC. Would I PAY again to see her? No. To me, it's supporting her, that's all. Loan me the DVD, I'll watch her.
THOUGH, I must admit, this politics thing has taken the pleasure out of watching the dingbats in Hollywood.
