SO.....TELL ME.........WHAT DO YOU FOLKS THINK? I'M VERY INTERESTED.
I'm more impressed than ever...thought most of these bigwigs' egos wouldn't allow even thinking about taking VP.
Romney says he'd take Veep, calls McCain "Big Dog"
Mitt Romney said in his first interview since departing the GOP race that he would accept the number two position on the ticket and that there is no lingering bitterness between him and John McCain.“I think any Republican leader in this country would be honored to be asked to serve as the vice presidential nominee, myself included," Romney told FOX's Sean Hannity in a broadcast set to air tonight. "Of course this is a nation which needs strong leadership. And if the nominee of our party asked you to serve with him, anybody would be honored to receive that call … and to accept it, of course.”
According to two separate reports, Romney is being talked up as a running mate by members of the Bush inner circle. But McCain and his closest advisers have little regard for their former rival thanks to the bitter, year-long race waged between the two Republicans.Romney says, however, that he thinks the wounds have healed.“There are really no hard feelings, I don't think, on either side of this," he said in the interview. "There were no pacts and so forth that make people feel like that we will never come together. Instead these campaigns are all coming together. We are supporting our nominee enthusiastically, aggressively."
Romney said his top fundraisers have already met with McCain's campaign."We are laying out ways we can support his campaign.”Romney also belittled the Democrats, saying that he thought Barack Obama would eventually emerge as their nominee and that such an outcome would play to the GOP's favor....................

I'm sure he's slobbering at the mouth to TAKE IT. The odds are that McCain will croak within the first two years. And that's just the kind of thing a religious slime ball like this suit would love to take advantage of.
actually, religion is a private thing for him and should be for all of us. Respect is the least you could show him. And, as a religious type, I'm pretty sure he's not cheering for the 'croak' of McCain, Anon.
Mz.Z,
Why should I respect a guy like Romney...he's the epitome of an idollartor and not really religious at all...the most scary kind of moral emptiness in that man...almost the equivalent of GW Bush...conventional respectability...the scariest thing around...the standard guise of the undead.
'conventional respectability' is exactly what this country's missing. We have NO respectability anymore. Our kids don't have it modeled for them and we expect them to create a decent society? Not the 'scariest thing around' by FAR..political correctness is.
Political correctness is certainly also a huge problem...having to say you believe in some skydaddy whether you do or not, having to pose as a patriot by supporting an evil war, having to pretend to respect a murdering sociopath in the Whitehouse, pretending your more outraged by some irrelevant sexual action than you are by criminal wars...all those insidious PC things which make hypocrites of so many weakminded people are indeed dangers.
You're boring me now. Keep posting, you'll be deleted every time. I don't have the time or the energy to teach you anything. good luck.
I'm still up-in-the-air about Election 2008 -- that is, the foul taste in my mouth over McCain being our nominee. I'm glad I have nearly 8 months to come to grips with this. :-)
I'll bet this Anon character dreams of a Sheehan/Moore ticket to vote for.
I'll bet this Anon character dreams of a Sheehan/Moore ticket to vote for.
I don't know about that anon but this one would like FDR's clone to destroy you again.
seth, whatever..it is what it is, right? Maybe the VP selection will cheer us up. If it's Crist or Graham, I'm moving back to Europe!!! THAT would put me over the top.
Hi Z, I see the little no name twerp is floundering around here again. Well, maybe he'll learn something, since he's probably not used to being around grown ups.
To more important things. I think Romney would be a good choice, in balancing the ticket. His background in executive experience and business is a good counter balance with McCain and his foreign policy interests and military background.
Also, Romney ran a good campaign, and really didn't make any mistakes. I do think it is also a good idea for McCain to pick someone outside the Senate.
I have heard rumblings that Condi is on McCain's list as well. I would be surprised if she would say yes, but, who knows? I do think she's more socially liberal than conservatives would like, but, it's time to "fish or cut bait".
I'm not the type to cut off my nose to spite my face. I'm definitely voting for McCain. We only have to remember one thing.
We have a war to fight. That's the most urgent issue, we can't afford to take a back seat!

Picking Romney might go a long way towards assuaging the disenfranchised conservatives in the party.
Let's hope McCain puts his temper aside for once and does it!
I agree with you, Brooke....he could definitely assuage those who are so ticked off by choosing Romney...and, let's not forget the ECONOMY. Remember, just the other day McCain said he's really not too up on that subject?
Romney's the guy who knows how to run a business..even a really BIG one. On the other hand VP's don't get to do too much. BUT, maybe McCain will involve him enough?
YOUR POSTS ARE BEING MODERATED NOW BY ME AND ELMER'S BROTHER. PLEASE BE PATIENT. MOST OF YOU KNOW HOW MUCH I COME TO MY COMPUTER AND I'LL BE DOING THAT AS MUCH AS I CAN. HAD TO DO THIS TO AVOID THE TROLLS....MAYBE IT'S NOT SUCH A BAD IDEA, ANYWAY.
THANKS FOR YOUR PATIENCE, PEOPLE! AM WORKING ON A HUGE PROJECT RIGHT NOW IF I DON'T RESPOND TO EMAILS...BUT I'LL BE AROUND! THANKS...I'M SO GLAD YOU'RE ALL HERE!

Proven trolls should be BLOCKED once they emerge, because there is never any point in arguing against their disingenuous, deliberately disruptive, insolent rhetoric.
As for choosing Romney as our Vice Presidential candidate, I think it's a bad idea, because he and McCain mix about as well as oil and water, and could NEVER make a convincing TEAM. Also, fine fellow that he is, Romney is a PROVEN LOSER at this particular game. He would, therefore, be a detriment to the ticket.
If the Republicans were SMART, which sadly they are not, they would choose someone across party, racial and ideological lines like Cynthia McKinney or Malik "Zulu" Shabazz.
Now wouldn't THAT just spike the enemy's guns! LOL!
Seriously, it MUST be a black or a woman–––preferably BIOTH. Niger Innes, Star Parker, John McWhorter come to mind, although the VERY BEST CHOICE would be Michael Steele. No foolin.'
FT, you know, if McCain picked any of the black people you mentioned, they would be screaming "tokenism"!
The only candidate that would not warrant that is Condi. She was talked about for Presidential material long before the campaign.
I like Michael Steele too, but given your judgment on Romney, Steele is a proven loser himself.
I disagree that McCain must pick a black person or a woman. The overwhelming amount of voters vote for President.
Pris
I'd feel more comfortable with a firebrand on the ticket. Alan Keyes or Newt Gingrich...
Romney would finally bring some business quality to the the ticket!
Mr. Z
McCain has time to play with in deciding his VP candidate. Meanwhile, he can continue to outsource his opposition research against Hillary to Obama and his opposition research against Obama to Hillary. They're basically field testing strategies for John McCain.
Just call him Big Pimpin' McCain. He's runnin' them beeyotches.
While Hillary and Obama destroy each other through the primary season and possibly even the Dem convention, McCain can be campaigning in every state.
I believe he can hold off on picking a running mate until at least mid-June, for maximum kaboom.
well, Mr. B......the good thing is that I can't imagine a Hill/Obama team after this much rancor.
But, with Dems with no character and no integrity, you never know. They could finally do what Mr. Clinton suggested and make an unstoppable dream team.
Then Mr. McCain's 'kaboom' will go 'kerplunk'.
Romney would make a great VP and at the right time PRESIDENT ! This would be a training session provided McCain would have him envolved in the decisions that a President has to make everyday. He has the knowledge and would get the experience. ROMNEY FOR V.P.
