This made me cry.......

.......and I don't care who knows it. Please read THIS ARTICLE. My friend, blogger Elmer's Brother, sent me this information; perhaps you've all seen it, I hadn't. (thanks, Elbro. And, as Elbro says "Who's the enemy?")

Defense Secretary Robert Gates asked Associated Press NOT to release a picture of Marine Lance Corporal Joshua Bernard, photographed after having been mortally wounded in Afghanistan. He died later in the hospital. HOWEVER, Associated Press felt the picture “conveys the grimness of war and the sacrifice of young men and women fighting it.”

Secretary of Defense Robert Gates wrote a whopping, angry letter to AP and you can read it all in the above-linked article, but here's a clippet from it that I wanted to share here: I cannot imagine the pain and suffering Lance Corporal Bernard’s death has caused his family. Why your organization would purposefully defy the family’s wishes knowing full well that it will lead to yet more anguish is beyond me..."

Yes, to their SHAME, in MY OPINION, the AP even reports that the Marine’s father had asked – in an interview and in a follow-up phone call — that the image, taken by an embedded photographer, not be published. The FAMILY ASKED but AP thought AMERICANS NEED TO SEE THE PICTURE for their story, for their agenda.

This is the same Associated Press which, in my opinion, keeps Americans from knowing truths which could HELP OUR COUNTRY, help our citizens wake up from the MEDIA LEFTWING ONSLAUGHT, but no................that doesn't suit the AP's agenda, they're liberal so YOU will see only liberal-supporting information. But, they couldn't wait to go against a father's wishes and publish such a picture. Because THE AP DOESN'T LIKE THIS WAR. Who the hell LIKES any war?

AP...DON'T EVER USE OUR SOLDIERS LIKE THIS, YOU SCUM. WE KNOW WAR IS UGLY AND OUR KIDS ARE GETTING KILLED. No one picture is needed to drive that point home to ANY OF US. Lance Corporal Bernard deserved BETTER THAN THIS, you COWARDS, and his FAMILY deserved better than this. Lance Corporal, please accept the apology of so many Americans who are sorry for this.......and if we had an honest media which REALLY cared about our soldiers and their privacy, I'd love to see your death at least serve as a milestone where the media woke up and NEVER did anything like this again. Sadly, I doubt that will happen. Rest in peace, sir. And thank you for giving the ultimate sacrifice for our country. Semper Fi.

Dear fellow taxpayers, not much more to say........

but, I'm sure you'd agree. Let's consider this: Bush spends $50k on a week's vacation, or $73,000 on a night out with Laura. Media? I'm sure they'd treat him as hands-off as the media did Obama, right? (ya, RIGHT!!!)
geeeeeeeeeeeez!

Mr. Z's solution to the health care situation.....

It's easy!

Mr. Z just wrote an email to a friend about healthcare and I thought it made such sense I'd blog it: Here goes:

Healthcare is really simple to deal with, instead of “overhaul”:

1. Institute tort reform and get rid of “defensive medicine”. Saves up to $200 B per year.

2. No more state limits for insurance companies.

3. Throw excessive administrative burdens out.

4. Cover the 10 million people who really need it, by a special fund. (no illegals, don’t force young people into an insurance they don’t want). Also, create a cheap “catastrophic insurance”.

5. Allow pool formation for premium reduction

6. Force congress into the same insurance they are creating.

Z: You all think Obama will mention any of this in his non-State of the Union State of the Union speech next week? :-) What do you all think of Mr. Z's ideas............why NOT? Got any additions or subtractions?

Fed Gov't needs "MASSIVE HIRING BINGE" !??

Drip, drip, drip............
Heidianne at Big Girl Pants is traveling today but wanted you all to see THIS ARTICLE........the subtle brainwashing is inescapable.....'Get those Americans ready for MORE GOVERNMENT JOBS....we need MORE GOVERNMENT JOBS' drip, drip, drip.....(thanks, media)

Here's one clippet from the article! : The numbers also reflect the Obama administration's intent to take on several enormous challenges, including the repair of the financial sector, fighting two wars, and addressing climate change.

Heidianne would say "Disgusting," as she often does. And she'd be right.

geeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeZ!

'I pledge to be a servant to Barack Obama" (oh, that was hard to type..)

You'll want to see this whole thing...it's not long and gets 'better' as it goes along. Pledge to Z that you'll watch the whole thing. You owe it to Barack Obama, apparently? Oh, and this was shown at at least one public school, too.....not forced on them, that we must understand, but they say now that they didn't realize what it was about. That's HERE. Why do you think Demi Moore and the rest of the celebs on it made this? To be kept under a bushel? Or get it out there?

Diane Sawyer's taking over..........and more morning show info

UPDATE: I just glanced through the Morning Shows and saw that the father of Bristol Palin's "Love Child" as they call the baby in the American media (nice if they referred to married peoples' children as love children, too) is talking about how the Palins didn't 'parent', that Sarah left her job because it was 'too hard' and there was 'bigger money to make', and Sarah had tried to adopt the baby so nobody'd know what had happened. All of this based on Levi Johnston's information, the guy who's suddenly written a book$$$, is posing for underwear ads, and otherwise getting tons of attention out of the clear blue sky. Harry Smith actually asked his sidekick after they aired the Johnston information "You have met Johnston before....do you think he's....CREDIBLE?" Harry, is this kid CREDIBLE? Will you stoop to this? Nice to hear the woman respond "Harry, I don't know....how can I answer that?" Shows a lot about HARRY (who seemed, at least, slightly embarrassed for having even asked) and a lot about her, sorry I don't watch the programs regularly and don't know her name. "Is he CREDIBLE?"...this young man who the media is making a star based on his notoriety for having knocked up Sarah Palin's daughter and is now satisfying their agenda by knocking Palin!? Sorry to be crude, but.........isn't this amazing?

Original Post:

So, Diane Sawyer's taking over the hot seat at ABC NEWS from Charlie Gibson.... did you hear about it? HERE is the article.
So, what do you think? Katie Couric or Diane Sawyer? Diane Sawyer or Katie Couric? There doesn't seem to be much question who most people would watch. Not to be too mean-spirited, but.....

It's an interesting business and it'll be fascinating to see what the ratings say in January when Sawyer takes over...... Your thoughts? (not that I watch either network anymore, but....)

Obama is speaking to your children on September 8

HERE is the President's speech to your children and grandchildren.....it's entitled "President Obama's Address to Students Across America September 8, 2009." What do you think?

Then there's THIS: The first sitting president to have a school named after him because during the campaign season, the children became interested in the election, participating in mock presidential debates at the Long Island elementary school — which sits in close proximity to Hofstra University, the site of the final presidential debate. I might add that these are elementary school children who 'became interested in the election'.... all on their own? WOW, we're raising SOME KIDS these days, huh? :-) NO indoctrination, right? These will be the kids going into Hispanic Lesbian Studies in college.

Nobody has to tell you good parents and good grandparents that we must discuss things like this with our kids. They're asked to write letters to themselves about how they can help the president. Sounds lovely, doesn't it? But, across the nation, all children, figuratively goose stepping..... to a president? And, YES, I know my leftists here find this charming and "gee, how can ANYONE fault a president calling for all the MARVELOUS things he calls for in his speech?" Imagine if it were Bush? You hypocrites.

Any thoughts?

Priscilla's Post.....she's right again

Federal Power to Take Over the Internet.

Senate Bill 773 is in the works as I write this. Among other things it gives the Government the power to shut down the Internet, including private users. It’s called the Cybersecurity Act of 2009.

While intelligence needs and secure sites are essential to the federal government, I see the shutting down of private users, in this capability the federal government seeks, as an abrogation of our right to free speech. This power was not sought after 9-11 and I see no need for it now.

This is another attempt of this administration for control of the private citizen. Their appetite for power is endless and insidious. I have no doubt the explanation for this new power grab will be termed essential for our national security. One has to ask himself why... and if the government sees American citizens as a threat as well.

It is the government sites which demand superior security. It is military security which would be vulnerable, and intelligence security. Surely those areas are under constant upgrading and must be protected. Cyber attacks would be directed at those sites. A cyber attack could come from any country in the world. If the President shut our entire internet capability down, it wouldn't stop or affect another country's ability to attack. If we shut down the government sites to protect security , what reason would there be to shut down our private sector?

This administration has demonstrated it’s willingness to silence their detractors, to keep information from the public and dissent from being discussed. Communication is vital to a well informed public. That may seem like a threat to a politician but it is not a threat to national security. This Act must not be passed. We do not need permission to communicate and we have the right to free speech, something that this President seems to disdain.

Interesting that the same people, the left, who used their freedoms under our system of rights to gain power, now want to shut those rights down. Interesting perhaps, but consistent with every leftist government in history and of today. The more things change, the more they stay the same.

Tyranny knows no bounds except those put up by the people. If we lose the ability to set boundaries between the federal government and the people we will lose everything.

To contrast this scenario, we attended a tea party convention Sunday evening.
There, I saw people who celebrated freedom. Who love America. They didn’t scream “change” they called for taking our country back, and did it loudly and with determination. We waved our small American flags, a sea of them in that large auditorium.

It is legislation that I illustrated above which alarms us. Bit by bit, and piece by piece, our freedoms can be taken away. A bill here, an executive order there, an overzealous agency with the blessing of the President into yet another area of our existence. And suddenly, our country is gone. It is no longer America.

So, we have to fight the bills, the executive orders, and the ever reaching hand of a government which, in terms of power, cannot get enough. A thirst which refuses to be sated.

One speaker at the convention said, “this is war, the other side knows it, you don’t”. I believe the people in that audience do know it. Not a shooting war, but a war in terms of intensity, and of winning or losing. I choose winning.

To Insulate or FEED, that is the question.........

At least that shack to the left is GREEN, right?

Can you imagine that people are losing jobs and our government's intent on insulating low income housing now with stimulus money?

Two questions: SHOULD this money be used for insulation, etc.? AND, if you think so, Why hasn't it been spent on it already?

Read this article HERE, please, and chime in............I'm stunned at this stuff. "Let's insulate a house instead of getting a job for the inhabitant?" Is this what they want?: "We had nothing to eat, but our electric bill went down.."??
What do you think?
