Mr. Z's solution to the health care situation.....

It's easy!

Mr. Z just wrote an email to a friend about healthcare and I thought it made such sense I'd blog it: Here goes:

Healthcare is really simple to deal with, instead of “overhaul”:

1. Institute tort reform and get rid of “defensive medicine”. Saves up to $200 B per year.

2. No more state limits for insurance companies.

3. Throw excessive administrative burdens out.

4. Cover the 10 million people who really need it, by a special fund. (no illegals, don’t force young people into an insurance they don’t want). Also, create a cheap “catastrophic insurance”.

5. Allow pool formation for premium reduction

6. Force congress into the same insurance they are creating.

Z: You all think Obama will mention any of this in his non-State of the Union State of the Union speech next week? :-) What do you all think of Mr. Z's ideas............why NOT? Got any additions or subtractions?

These people aren't sick...they're just lazy counter-revolutionaries who need to be sent for re-education in the Obama Gulags. They aren't doing their part to foster the revolution so Comrade Obama can turn the Peoples' United Socialist States of America into a true worker's paradise. Malingering will not be tolerated. Turn in your neighbors!!!!

My physiatrist (pain specialist) and I had a long conversation about that last Monday.

He also added this idea: the health-insurance cards we carry should have a magnetic strip on them so that the cards can be scanned and payment for medical services transfer directly from the health-insurance companies directly into the doctors' accounts. As things are right now, docs have to wait 30-60 days for the payment to come in.

BTW, point 5 here is an excellent idea and should be extended so as to cross state lines.

Great ideas... especially #6 (as if).

Ah the old tort reform bromide. Someone should ask Mr. Z why it hasn't lowered premiums or reduced costs in the twenty or so states that have capped tort awards.

It's not that right wingers are behind the times but sometimes they just don't keep up ...

3. Throw excessive administrative burdens out.

Get rid of the insurance companies. That's what the left has been saying for a couple decades.

Ducky's here said...

don’t force young people into an insurance they don’t want

Which shows you do not have a grasp of the fundamental idea of insurance and why universal participation is necessary.

My dear Puky Ducky, as far as I'm concerned, lefty ideas are nothing modern. They've been tried and they have failed.

Do you have any opinion of your own based on your life and experience? Or do you just restate what your dad and liberal friends told you to say?

You bring nothing of value here. If you were bringing facts and proves, I'd accept your ideas but you are an empty and shallow vessel for the left.

I have more respect for communist people I have met in France in factories. The blue collars. Than your type: the lefty intelligentsia who says nothing and brings nothing. Your only goal is to make people miserable.

No additions or changes here, Z. I think Mr. Z did a good job!

No, Obama won't mention any of these in his speech - which we know he will read from his trusty teleprompter. Not to long ago his teleprompter screen fell to the floor and broke. I only hope it happens again. Seems even his teleprompter is tired of him!

It has become more and more apparent as Obama surrounds himself with Czars that think like he does and ones who have even admitted they are communists like his Green Czar, Van Jones, that his intention is to do as much damage to Capitalism as quickly as possible and to install socialist programs as quickly as possible. I doubt he has any intention whatsoever of being re-elected, and I don't believe he ever had any intention of re-election. It's all about destroying Capitalism and none of it is for the good of the people.

Steve....seems to me you grasp exactly the obama intentions.

Always...I think that's a good idea about the health cards, but we Americans get scared about cards; in Europe, ID cards have worked very well for years but, here, the Left might get less illegal voters so they don't want that.
Sure, in Europe, you show your ID card at the precinct, your name comes off a mainframe and you can't go vote elsewhere or use another card..somehow, it doesn't work here. Our voting is like Haiti now...Remember when we had to show ID? The Left doesn't welcome that anymore. That's too 'big brother' for lots of Americans; meanwhile lots of Americans are letting this president trod on freedoms we never thought up for grabs. go figure.

DaBlade.."AS IF" is right.

Ducky, ahhh, you really think that about tort reform? They've got it so it should work? Silly leftwinger utopia. Looks like they need a little help from the conservatives if they've got it and aren't getting prices down..Silly, really, because $200 Billion is a lot of money to save...IF saving was what this president really had on his agenda.
We're trying to help... if we'd been invited to any table, perhaps we'd actually have a bill that all Americans liked.

Ducky...#3...? you don't understand human nature, either, apparently.
One can't count those younger amongst us who COULD pay for it but WON'T pay for it as "the uninsured",pumping his UNINSURED number up like THE ONE wants to highlight this "Great unwashed bunch of slobs who need a hand out" (including illegals) No, he's telling US he means THE NEEDY....but those kids aren't needy, they're typical kids who feel invincible, their numbers serve his purpose but he's wrong....most of their folks have them on their plans for a while, anyway, of course.

FrogBurger...go read Ducky's profile ...

Great idea Z .
I favor simple and clear solutions.

L.i.a.

Perfect, Mr. Z. And now noone on the left can claim that the right only whines and offers o solutions.

I, for one, have advocated these solutions for a long, long time.

Good stuff, Ducky notwithstanding.

Ducky's here said...

Well, z, all I did was make three substantive statements. Each of which implies that the right hasn't thoroughly thought this out.

On a question of this magnitude, that's a problem.

Z said...

"get rid of insurance companies" is a 'substantive statement'?
Ducky..we are NOT SOCIALISTS, we do NOT WANT government in our lives like this. It's only substantive to socialists. But, thanks for trying.

Joe, thanks...I thought it was pretty clear, too......And, in fact, far easier to understand and NOT PERVERT than Obama's crap. 1000 pages he hasn't read, while CNN was waxing SO excitedly that OUR PRESIDENT TOOK A 2000 PAGE BOOK ON HOLIDAY WITH HIM! (Bush read 2-3 books a week on his watch AND kept the country safe, go figure!)...And Obama can't even read a 1000 BILL he supports? :-)

Medicaid is going to run out of money in 2016. That's if we don't add any more people to the government run health insurance scheme we already have in place. Taxes will have to be increased just to manage the burden of Medicaid. Costs will have to be cut. Denial of care decisions will be made.

Any solution that makes that impending problem bigger - such as Obama's national path to single payer plan - should be vehemently opposed.

We need more doctors and nurses. How about helping with the educational costs in return for providing services in underserved rural areas and free or low income clinics.

Limiting states right to control insurance companies might bring up states rights issues! Tread lightly and states might not balk at it.

Watch it Average, that some kind of Socialist talk?

Decent idea though.

"Get rid of the insurance companies. That's what the left has been saying for a couple decades."

Right Ducky, and create one huge insurance enterprise. The Federal Government. The mother of all monopolies!

From Mr. Z -
"don’t force young people into an insurance they don’t want."

Exactly. The doctor can bill them. What a novel idea. They could even pay with monthly payments. You know, the way most folks pay for their cars.

Avg. American -
"Limiting states right to control insurance companies might bring up states rights issues! Tread lightly and states might not balk at it."

Why should states have that right in the first place? Right now they make it possible for insurance companies to have state monopolies.

Insurance is a private enterprise, and should have to compete in the marketplace. If they had to compete nationwide, it would force prices down.

Also I think new insurance companies would crop up, creating more competition. Freedom is a wonderful thing when allowed to flourish.

Z,
I think that's a good idea about the health cards, but we Americans get scared about cards

Well, we use credit cards and debit cards. The card would be along those lines -- not an ID card, per se.

Z said...

Ducky, how the HELL is that SOCIALIST? NObody's getting anything for free, robbing from one to help the other!!

That Republican idea's been on the table, or WOULD be if the Republicans could GET to the table.

As if is, they're predicing doctors and nurses running out of America....can we blame them? You liberal dopes. Sorry, but I"m FED UP with what you leftwingers are doing to our country. And not even ashamed of your leftwing stinkin' lyin' media, THEIR behavior should shock even a leftwinger like you.
You know, Ducky....you bring the worst out in me but you sure do help me think.
And I'm thinking even YOU think we're on the wrong road.....

Pris, you are SO right....I do believe new companies will spring up ..competition IS the best thing...good comment

Always, that's a good thought, but so many Americans get NUTS when they hear CARD. You're right, by the way, my comment was silly; your idea would be definitely more a credit card. absolutely.

Of course, I DO think we need ID cards which could possibly effect well our voting procedures...like Germany has. But, the Dems aren't interested in legal elections, just as many votes as they can get.

Nice Mr. Z! It's almost the same points I sent in an email to my congressman -- sadly, Henry Waxman where it will do no good.

Tort Reform - Hardly a "Bromide"

Look, there are many studies, and many who play the game "my study can beat up your study."
Northwestern has published on their website a sophisticated 2008 study on tort reform that goes way beyond the binary question of "does the state have it, yes or no." The study also covers more recent years, about double the time period (20, not 10 years) of many others, and takes into consideration type of reform and likelihood of survival. (Courts in Ohio are famous for demolishing tort reform attempts there, and they're not alone).

Their conclusions don't match Ducky's. What a surprise.

Grind up the sick into protein meal to feed the downtrodden for free....grind up the insurance companies and feed them to the poor huddled masses, after you redistribute their money.

Average American said...

Oh no, Ducky agreed with something I said. I must be leaning a little to the left, I'll straighten up, I promise!

Pris.... Why should states have that right in the first place? Because the constitution says so. But I do agree that it would help lower costs with the competition.

"Force congress into the same insurance they are creating."

That alone is a giant step in the right direction, make it such that obama and all his socialist elites pushing this, join the same queues and wait-lists and they'll drop it like a hot potato.
