Obama's talk to children and hypocrisy

I'm as tired of rehashing the Obama speech to the nation's school children as you are by now, I'm sure. But, this article I found through Dr Dave's blog is very important and exposes a lot that we all need to keep in mind. Please read it.

President Geo. HW Bush had the following happen to him when he spoke at one school (it was not a national speech, today's speech was the first one that went national) : "Democrat Rep. William Ford, then chairman of the House Education and Labor Committee, ordered the General Accounting Office to investigate the cost and legality of Bush's appearance."

Gephart said this: "The Department of Education should not be producing paid political advertising for the president, it should be helping us to produce smarter students," said Richard Gephardt, then the House Majority Leader. "And the president should be doing more about education than saying, 'Lights, camera, action.'"

Just thought it worth mentioning.

Also, please see what the Leftwingers are doing.........the criticism of Obama was largely about the CURRICULUM which finally got changed. NOT THE SPEECH. CNN, Nina Easton on FOX, the Leftwinger talk show hosts, etc etc etc....are making this about the speech and "Republican presidents did it!" This is like saying Van Jones is gone because he called republicans A-Holes.... with NO MENTION of his being a self-proclaimed Communist. This is how bad our media is, this is how cleverly the left twists........

You are talking about a simple talk telling children to study and achieve as "political advertising"?

Meanwhile "Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission" is about to be argued and we are about to see some real "political advertising".

"Bought and sold for corporate gold,
Such a parcel of rogues in a nation."

We are divesting ourselves of claims to being a sovereign people alright but it isn't Obama telling kids to study that is behind it.

When ACORN got involved in at least our last election, Ducky, we became no better than Haiti regarding elections, Ducky.

Please stay on topic or I'll have to delete you. thank you. I want the point of my blog addressed, it's why I posted it.

By the way, the lie continues...

ABC news here in LA has 3 seconds of news between talk show segments and it was something like "And President Obama delivered his speech today to children across the country encouraging them to study hard and do well though Republicans had said beforehand that it would be full of his agenda."

Do you people see what's happening? The Republicans got the kind of unbelievable treatment Bush did in 1991 (see the link in my post) but NOBODY remembers that .... and his didn't mention THE ENVIRONMENT, HOMELESS, AIDS like Obama's did...just "do good in school!"

It was the CURRICULUM, ABC NEWS, you "neglected" to mention that. WOW

Obama is talking to kids because at this point they're the only ones that are gullible enough to be convinced.

Since childish behavior and thinking is usually typical of the left (e.g. Ducky), they're part of the kids.

FrogBurger said...

The piece about working for your country (aka the collective) is pathetic.

Nobody works for his country. I work for myself, my family and loved ones. If everybody was thinking that way, there would less issue.

Even Obama doesn't work for the country. He works for his favorite lobbies, the unions and the left.

That's why he shouldn't talk to kids. Because when you lecture people, you should apply the lecture to yourself first.

But we all know how hypocritical the left is. Do as I say, not as I do. Pay taxes for the collective, but let me dodge them.

You are correct... It isn't his chat with the kiddies... It's all the other nefarious things he's doing.

One note about my comment: the only people who have decided to really work for their country are the military.

Van Jones is a self proclaimed Communist?

Tell me more comrade, this is a revelation.

I think you went over the high side again, z.

Even if he's only a socialist, the guy has a criminal record.

I couldn't have entered this country with a criminal record. Why would he run a part of gov?

Ask Hillary's supporters how they felt about fraud in the caucuses.

How about all the mess and pathetic DNC "democratic" process in Florida?

In reply to a student who asked for advice on how to become president of the United States, Mr. Obama replied, "Be careful what you post on Facebook."

WOW.

Any comments on where he was going with that one???

FrogBurger said...

Shows his level of depth or lack thereof.

A better answer would have been "Don't be like Van Jones and avoid committing felonies."

Ducky's here said...

Come on Frog, let's can the straw men. Now what's this about Van Jones being a self proclaimed communist.

The only such claim I can find is from a certain Glenn Beck and if you claim Beck as a "news" source then you have indeed gone over the high side.

You know Ducky, months ago you said, and I paraphrase, "we will purge the children of their mistaken beliefs and teach them what correct thinking is".

But, of course Obama wouldn't do such a thing, right? He just wants all children volunteering for service, and wants to mandate it for HS students. Also, he wants students who get government loans to work them off by working for the government for 10 years.

You know what that's called? Indentured servitude. I know, right up your alley.

From Obama's youth, to Obama's army. But, hell, why should we be suspicious? I wonder what was in his original speech and lesson plans.

Do you think you, or any leftist fools us? You people are as transparent as glass. So, do your best Ducky, knock yourself out.

We're way ahead of you.

I'll add to Z,s example of Haiti, of which she's right. I'll add Venezuela and Cuba. There are more around the world, but, you get the idea.

A thugocracy, is a thugocracy no matter what you call it. Perfect for a useful idiot like you.

Kids listen to Marxist indoctrination from dysfunctional parents grandparents and other mentors. Take copious amounts of hard drugs while avoiding any personal responsibility. Find some wealthy radicals that can mentor you and give you sinecures aplenty. Fill yourselves with hubris and an undeserved sense of accomplishment and privilege. Cover your past paper trails and all, succeed at nothing, then claim your right to dictate to others how to live. If so blessed play whatever victim card you have ,halfrican will do. Oh and be sure to rail against your country for sins real or perceived and never waver from your myopic self abortion. In summation be a worthless,"boutique educated",crack smoking lay around, never get a real job and them maybe you too can run for President.

Ducky, you mention your sources and I mention mine.

Glenn Beck is doing more investigation than your media right now. How come did they jump on the bandwagon several weeks after Beck started?

Also you haven't addressed the crime aspect of Van Jones?

That's because you're so intellectually dishonest and so weak that you'd never address the truth.

I can't wait for the day where you're going to address things specifically.

I'll be dead by then I think.

DUCKY...you're kidding, right? Now you can see your media at (no) work: This is Van Jones: "I met all these young radical people of color - I mean really radical, communists and anarchists. And it was, like, 'This is what I need to be a part of... I spent the next ten years of my life working with a lot of those people I met in jail, trying to be a revolutionary...I was a rowdy nationalist on April 28th, and then the verdicts came down on April 29th..By August, I was a communist."

And, yes, Haiti...except we don't have Carter and Jackson openly
vouching for the socialists here..yet.

Pris..exactly so...but, when you haven't heard Van Jones' own words, or know what his group STORM is about, then you get delirious, like Ducky?

Ted Kennedy? I never thought I'd say this to you: Welcome to my blog.:-)

FrogBurger, thanks...can't wait to hear about your 9/12 trip.

Steve, great piece you did at your place...Facebook: a slam at Sarah Palin, don't you think? If SHE does it, ALL Facebook must be bad; If FOX says it, it can't be true...you get the drift. Scary for America, isn't it.

Leaving tomorrow at 2pm. I'll report on the 3 days as I'm going to almost all the events. I'll take pictures.

I am anxiously awaiting my boys to arrive from school to see if they were pulled from class. I wrote a note and called about them not seeing the speech.

A commenter on my blog, also mentioned Bush and Reagan doing the same thing that Obama did. I hadn't believed they did and your post confirmed that. So thank you.

Obama always has some kind of agenda and I do not believe this speech was spur of the moment. To rally the kids to do better in school. I don't appreciate him interrupting class to spew his rhetoric.

Z said...

Leticia, but it was the very first 'national' attempt at speaking to ALL American children and definitely the first time a Dept of Education has released a curriculum for a president's speech. That's what rankled people, not so much the speech.
Let us know!

Nice rebuttal, Ducky. Well thought out, researched and documented.

Right up there with the best you have ever offered.

Do you even understand the meaning of the word, "dialog?"

Z said...

Joe, that's the newest with Ducky..belittling.
The Left keeps getting what they want and yet they get more and more scared and angry.

Did you hear Pelosi just now say the Right has had all this time to come up with solid health care suggestions but all they've come up with is roadblocks, etc?
TOTAL LIES. And, the media blares it, and the conservative press reminds us all of the really good ideas the Republicans had..but they're all free market/competition/ over-border insurance sales/tort reform...all things the Left can't flourish from, SO....that's THAT.
And most Americans here only HER.

I had to remind the lefties at work that it wasn't the speech but the 'curriculum' that people were upset about because they had CNN on and the idiot reporter kept saying it was the speech that was objected to

For the record Ducky, when CNN "finally" did report the story on Van Jones - they actually did show documentation of him being quoted in East Bay Express (November 2, 2005), admitting that he was a communist. I posted a quick clip (displaying CNN)in a recently posted "tribute" (heh) video to Mr. Jones. But I am sure that you will be better served using the link that Z gave you or the above supplied date to research this information yourself, from sources who are not quite so annoyingly Right.

Z , don't you know that presenting a leftist with their own statements and actions is considered "A vicious attack"?

Ducky you got owned you dolt, how's it feel that the annointed one's approval rating is dropping faster than bill clintons pants in a room full of fat girls? the empire is crumbling, Obama took a mess your liberal congress created (but blamed on Bush) and multiplied it.. people are waking up and the honeymoon is over..

2010 is going to be some sweet relief.

Ducky's here said...

So let me get this straight. Most of this controversy boils down to one question on the follow up material ... "What can you do to help the president".

Now that was exactly the term used by Daddy Bush in his school address. Not the best wording, I would have changed it to "... help the country." but certainly nothing to go all dramatic over and start mumbling craziness about indoctrination.

The tragedy here is the demonstration of how incredibly easy it is to manipulate the far right wing. Especially when the news follows up for the cheap story.

No, it wasn't, Ducky. But good try.
