Greta Van Susteren.....

......is a liberal. Have you noticed her faltering a little bit on that? Even kind of remarkably? Have you heard her question this Health Care bill and SO many other things Obama's doing WRONG? You can see things cross her face as if she's asking "What the...?" quite often.

Mr Z and I are seeing some real change in that woman......wondering if you have. I'm not sure she's become a Conservative, but...........!

She's always been middle of the road I think. And that's good on Fox. Let's be honest, we can't have Hannity all the time. It would drive me crazy personally.

The one that irritates the hell out of me is O'Reilly these days b/c I think he's disingenuous.

I saw a dramatic change in Greta when she met up with and became rather close to Sarah Palin...
Greta has become one of my two FOX favorites...

CS, you're right...she couldn't help but be charmed by Sarah BUT her husband was working to get Sarah's brand well known across America so there was a little something else going on... STILL, you could see Greta was impressed with this woman I'm sure she wanted to dislike.

It just strikes me she is AMAZED at so much coming out of the WH; it's utter sheer AMAZEMENT, as if "Man, how did so many VOTE for this guy?" (maybe herself, too!)? She practically says that in so many ways and seems dumbfounded because he'd pulled one over on HER, too.

FrogBurger, she's more middle of the road than Rachel Maddow (smile) but she is pretty liberal still on some subjects.

I SO agree with you on O'Reilly; he 'explains away' things and brushes off some pretty sound conservative opinions he disagrees with as if HE is right and that's THAT.
I do applaud most of his stances, I must admit, but I do not like the disingenuous bit...big time.

It doesn't take much to say WTF, where Dear Leader is concerned. Greta is simply one of many who are shaking off the effects of Dear Leader's Kool Aid.

Haven't seen much of Greta lately, but if she is waking up to the Obamanation, more power to her.

I was noticing that. I used to hate to watch her but now she asks really good questions.

She has always been an independent.
She got to Fox by accident. She has some sort of rivalry with Debra Norville. When Norville switched Networks in a huff, Greta jumped ship.

Has anyone heard from Norville who really was a non talent since she left Fox?

She's fluffy.

Granted, her legal training does tangentially qualify her for the political news beat, but her place is plumbing the depths of the next "shocking violent crime" story.

I barely watch television, and certainly not as a news source.

I don't forget that GVS was a major participant in turning all news channels of the lamestream media into the 24/7 "missing girl in Aruba" update. As if there were no other newsworthy events.

I don't think I've watched even an hour's worth of TV news since summer of 2005.

Without looking, I'd bet my eyes that GVS has done at least 25 stories on Michael Jackson since he died.

I agree with beamish on the "fluffy" thing. Not my cup of Earl Grey, hot. I hope you're right about her questioning the left's propaganda. Symbolic of a shift of thinking from the "independents"?

I even get tired of Fox news. After a while, they say the same thing over and over, with different voices. Of course, I think the government is on the news too much. The news we enjoy is the 'news you missed' on ABC on SAT AM. Not very deep, but more refreshing than all the rest of the **.

Wow....did she get a face lift? This is the first picture I've seen of Greta in five or more years. I didn't know, is she still on Fox news? I knew she was a liberal a long time ago. Heck, lots of the fox news anchors are liberal. I never watch fox, or television for that matter.

I haven't watched Greta's show in a long time so I can't comment on her current change of political heart. She always did strike me as a fair person, however, and the kind of liberal who would take the time to argue facts and not just call you vile names.

BO is a train wreck and anyone who voted for him and doesn't know this by now is delusional.

I have to admit I don't watch her all that much. But I can't really detect much change in her. Taking a loner perspective, all the way back to the days of the O.J trial and when she was on CNN, I do see a difference. I don't see her as being too political and maybe that's a good thing.

What changes do you detect, Z?

She's moved more and more into politics and barely covers the sensational stuff Larry King has started covering about 80% of the time...that's pretty stunning.
I think he was doing Michael Jackson stores for at least 5 weeks after the death and then covered the SLIGHTEST news item on that. LIke Anna Nicole Smith. King has become a real bad-news/celebrity pimp.

My point of the post is to show that even liberals are seeing what Obama's doing....because Greta is seriously questioning SO MUCH of what he's doing. CLEARLY shocked at people who tout a bill they haven't read; Clearly shocked at the czars, etc etc etc.

To me THIS is news and I suggest people pay attention, really; it's so infrequently that we do see people thinking and not just knee-jerkedly reacting as they think they're supposed to. I think Greta, whom we only started to watch with any regularity a few months ago, does a fair job now.

I noticed her fondness for the Palin family. Then, once Obama came into office and passed the stimulus/spending bill I saw a marked change. She was a scorned woman.

Steve,

GVS did get a chin job between switching from CNN to Fox.

Z,

The only "serious" criticism of Obama I've seen in the brief glimpses of lamestream media I subject myself to is that he's on TV too much (and they say this as they run footage of Obama on TV).

If there is any thinking going on in the minds of TV news commentators, it's pure irony.

(((Thought Criminal))) said...

Don't forget that the Obama White House does not answer questions from the media they were not authorized to ask.

Some in the media don't appreciate being reduced to dueling teleprompters. Most will play along.

Just found you through a comment you left on RK's blog...

I agree, there's been a marked change in Greta. I think Palin and the 'stimulus' got to her, and she seems to be a person with real common sense. You can't have common sense and appreciate what Obama has been doing thus far - that's a physical impossibility.

Take care..

Thanks, Soloman...just checked out your blog and it's terrific..
I HIGHLY recommend it to my good friends who comment here...I look forward to blogging with you.
you take care, too.

I've noticed too, Z-- that's why I can watch her show, unlike O'Reilly's (I can't stand him). Better a middle of the roader with a dawning sense of "oh-- NOW I see!" than a perennial equivicator who wants "both sides to stop the viciousness"-- as if our side's attacks on the Left are not called for, in the face of their rapidly growing radical/totalitarian impulse.

Z said...

Zack, OReilly's normally on the right side of an issue but you describe SO WELL why I can barely stand watching the guy.
He's SO sure HE is RIGHT ALL THE TIME and SO kind and open minded..not like us rabid conservatives with true convictions!
