HAITI: Anderson Cooper and Geraldo got in before rescue SUPPLIES?

I just got this email from a friend and didn't even ask if I could publish it. I am not using the writer's name but he's obviously someone who flew from here to Haiti to be of assistance. I did nothing but clean up some spelling, etc...as I believe this was typed in haste and anger. This is eye opening, horrifying, disgusting, and, maybe it's only his point of view, but it sure should be READ:

To All,

I just returned from Haiti with (name withheld by Z). We flew in at 3 AM Sunday to the scene of such incredible destruction on one side, and enormous ineptitude and criminal neglect on the other.

Port au Prince is in ruins. The rest of the country is fairly intact. Our team was a rescue team and we carried special equipment that locates people buried under the rubble. There are easily 200,000 dead, the city smells like a charnel house. The bloody UN was there for 5 years doing apparently nothing but wasting US Taxpayers money. The ones I ran into were either incompetent or outright anti american. Most are French or french speakers, worthless every damn one of them. While 18oo rescuers were ready willing and able to leave the airport and go do our jobs, the UN and USAID ( another organization full of little OBamites and communists that openly speak against America) These two organizations exemplified their parochialism by:

USAID, when in control of all inbound flights, had food and water flights stacked up all the way to Miami, yet allowed Geraldo Rivera, Anderson Cooper and a host of other left wing news puppies to land.

Pulled all the security off the rescue teams so that Bill Clinton and his wife could have the grand tour, whilst we sat unable to get to people trapped in the rubble.

Stacked enough food and water for the relief over at the side of the airfield then put a guard on it while we dehydrated and wouldn't release a drop of it to the rescuers.

No shower facilities to decontaminate after digging or moving corpses all day, except for the FEMA teams who brought their own shower and decon equipment, as well as air conditioned tents.

No latrine facilities, less digging a hole if you set up a shitter everyone was trying to use it.

I watched a 25 year old Obamite with the USAID shrieking hysterically, berate a full bird colonel in the air force, because he countermanded her orders, whilst trying to unscrew the air pattern. " You dont know what your president wants! The military isnt in charge here we are!"

If any of you are thinking of giving money to the Haitian relief, or to the UN don't waste your money. It will only go to further the goals of the French and the Liberal left.

If we are a fair and even society, why is it that only white couples are adopting haitian orphans. Where the hell is that vocal minority that is always screaming about the injustice of American society.

Bad place, bad situation, but a perfect look at the new world order in action. New Orleans magnified a thousand times. Haiti doesn't need democracy, what Haiti needs is Papa Doc. That's not just my opinion , that is what virtually every Haitian we talked with said. the French run the UN treat us the same as when we were a colony, at least Papa Doc ran the country.

Oh, and as a last slap in the face the last four of us had to take US AIRWAYs home from Phoenix. They slapped me with a 590 dollar baggage charge for the four of us. The girl at the counter was almost in tears because she couldn't give us a discount or she would lose her job. Pass that on to the flying public.

Z: Well, it looks like Rush Limbaugh might be right after all....how terribly sad is THAT? From the guy's choice of words, I think he might be a Brit who lives in America...... And, of course, Liberals will overlook the really damning stuff he's written here and focus on what THEY think's wrong with it, but that's expected. How awful that this is the impression someone has; And, we're being told all the rescue efforts are right in line....the people are getting what they need. Sure, after the elitists get theirs. I'm no one to deny rescuers food and water because they NEED that to continue their work, but this account of the media coming first and the administration insulting military in charge and celebrity politicians coming before the people is sickening. And, what about Katrina? It was a TERRIBLE situation and Bush got NO free pass, did he. (by the way, the photo above IS Katrina....to make a point) By the way, it's fascinating that, at the end of that linked article, it mentions a Haitian Diplomat who blames this catastrophe on "witchcraft"...hmmmm

Chemical Ali wasn't really SUCH a bad guy??

Chemical Ali was buried today.
Agence France Presse has THIS ARTICLE, three-quarters of which pretty much has his home town pals saying what a good guy and that "He was one of Ouja's most remarkable men," said Abu Shehab, a 45-year-old man who insisted that Ali Hassan al-Majid, better known by his macabre nickname, had been hanged to appease Iran and the United States.

The article then goes on to say "Probably the most notorious of these was the gassing of around 5,000 Kurds in the northern town of Halabja in March 1988, for which he received his fourth death sentence earlier this month." Um. Maybe he was responsible for 5,000 in Halabja, but Agence France Presse forgot to mention that many think Chemical Ali was responsible for the death of 300,000 Kurds. HERE is another article saying 180,000 Kurds were killed. And, of course, there's this: "His crimes, however, did not dilute the adulation of Saddam and Majid loyalists in Ouja, where both men were born in poverty before the fall of the Iraqi monarchy and bloodletting in later years took them to power." Ah, they were poor.......can ya BLAME them for killing thousands of people? :-)

And, of course, Yahoo carries the article and people read it and believe it, and you'd have thought facts might be just a tad more important than downplaying a murdering Iraqi's past. Just a thought, Yahoo. I'm talking INFERENCE here....see the inferences? But, of course, there's finally this: "Aras Abed, vice president of the association of Halabja victims who lost 12 family members, said he was "swimming in happiness." That's the verrrrry last line in the piece, if you read that far.

As a blog aside, there's a new recipe at Mac 'n GeeeeeZ that you might want to try...it is DElicious :-) Now PLEASE read the letter below...z

Harold Estes writes to President Obama

Some of you might have seen this already but I can't have a blog and not post it on it...so, here goes:

Dear President Obama,

My name is Harold Estes (read more about this HERE), approaching 95 on December 13 of this year. People meeting me for the first time don't believe my age because I remain wrinkle free and pretty much mentally alert.

I enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1934 and served proudly before, during and after WW II retiring as a Master Chief Bos'n Mate. Now I live in a "rest home" located on the western end of Pearl Harbor, allowing me to keep alive the memories of 23 years of service to my country.

One of the benefits of my age, perhaps the only one, is to speak my mind, blunt and direct even to the head man. So here goes.

I am amazed, angry and determined not to see my country die before I do, but you seem hell bent not to grant me that wish. I can't figure out what country you are the president of.

You fly around the world telling our friends and enemies despicable lies like: "We're no longer a Christian nation" "America is arrogant" -- (Your wife even announced to the world, "America is mean- spirited." Please tell her to try preaching that nonsense to 23 generations of our war dead buried all over the globe who died for no other reason than to free a whole lot of strangers from tyranny and hopelessness.)

I'd say shame on the both of you, but I don’t think you like America, nor do I see an ounce of gratefulness in anything you do, for the obvious gifts this country has given you. To be without shame or gratefulness is a dangerous thing for a man sitting in the White House.

After 9/11 you said, "America hasn’t lived up to her ideals."Which ones did you mean? Was it the notion of personal liberty that 11,000 farmers and shopkeepers died for to win independence from the British? Or maybe the ideal that no man should be a slave to another man, that 500,000 men died for in the Civil War? I hope you didn't mean the ideal 470,000 fathers, brothers, husbands, and a lot of fellas I knew personally died for in WWII, because we felt real strongly about not letting any nation push us around, because we stand for freedom.

I don't think you mean the ideal that says equality is better than discrimination. You know the one that a whole lot of white people understood when they helped to get you elected.

Take a little advice from a very old geezer, young man.

Shape up and start acting like an American. If you don't, I'll do what I can to see you get shipped out of that fancy rental on Pennsylvania Avenue. You were elected to lead not to bow, apologize and kiss the hands of murderers and corrupt leaders who still treat their people like slaves.

And just who do you think you are telling the American people not to jump to conclusions and condemn that Muslim major who killed 13 of his fellow soldiers and wounded dozens more. You mean you don’t want us to do what you did when that white cop used force to subdue that black college professor in Massachusetts, who was putting up a fight? You don’t mind offending the police calling them stupid but you don’t want us to offend Muslim fanatics by calling them what they are, terrorists.

One more thing. I realize you never served in the military and never had to defend your country with your life, but you're the Commander-in-Chief now, son. Do your job. When your battle-hardened field General asks you for 40,000 more troops to complete the mission, give them to him. But if you're not in this fight to win, then get out. The life of one American soldier is not worth the best political strategy you're thinking of.

You could be our greatest president because you face the greatest challenge ever presented to any president.

You're not going to restore American greatness by bringing back our bloated economy. That's not our greatest threat. Losing the heart and soul of who we are as Americans is our big fight now.

And I sure as hell don't want to think my president is the enemy in this final battle.

Sincerely,
Harold B. Estes (Z: I'm not sure America can last without people like this)

You don't have to be a musician to find this funny.......

.....but it helps! I know some of my readers fit that bill (pardon the pun!)... Enjoy!:

You know you're too old to play gigs when:

1. It becomes more important to find a place on stage for your fan than your amp
2. Your gig clothes make you look like George Burns out for a round of golf.
3. All your fans leave by 9:30 p.m.
4. All you want from groupies is a foot massage and back rub
5. You love taking the elevator because you can sing along with most of your playlist
6. Instead of a fifth member, your band wants to spring for a roadie
7. You lost the directions to the gig
8. You need your glasses to see the amp settings
9. You've thrown out your back jumping off the stage
10. You feel like hell before the gig even starts.
11. The waitress is your daughter
12. You stop the set because your ibuprofen fell behind the speakers
13. Most of your crowd just sways in their seats
14. You find your drink tokens from last month's gig in your guitar case
15. You refuse to play without earplugs
16. You ask the club owner if you can start at 8:30 instead of 9:30
17. You check the TV schedule before booking a gig
18. Your gig stool has a back
19. You're related to at least one member in the band
20. You don't let any one sit in
21. You need a nap before the gig
22. After the third set, you bug the club owner to let you quit early.
23. During the breaks, you now go to the van to lay down
24. You prefer a music stand with a light
25. You don't recover until Tuesday afternoon
26. You hope the host's speech lasts forever.....
27. You buy=2 0amps considering their weight and not their tone or cool factor.
28. Feeling guilty looking at hot women at the bar 'cause they're younger than your daughter.
29. You can remember seven different club names for the same location ...
30. You have a hazy memory of the days when you could work 10 gigs in 7 days and could physically do it.
Aren't those GREAT? :-) I'd like to add I played for the Fifth Dimension at a private party when I was very young and my band set my piano bench on ROCKS in a rock garden; you haven't lived till you're balancing yourself and playing and your mgr asks YOU to sing "Up Up And Away" for the FIFTH DIMENSION (I told him to that would be like asking me to sing PEOPLE for Streisand and told him NO!) I also once took an acoustic piano to a gig and was in the back of a pick up truck with a friend holding it still so it wouldn't go TOO far out of tune....Oh, the younger days!!! Got any stories like that, musician pals?
(Z: and yes, posting this was also a real good excuse to have a picture of one of my favorites, Leon Russell, on the blog)

Is it cold out there and you want something warm and satisfying? Try the SHORT RIBS recipe at Mac 'n GeeeeeZ! (shameless plug:-)

Smart WHITE kids.... No more extra classes BECAUSE they're white!?

And we think America's going to SURVIVE let alone THRIVE anymore?
Read THIS and please tell me what you think............In italics below, there's an excerpt from the linked article...read this and weep:

Campus leadership has proposed cutting before- and after-school labs -- decreasing science instruction by 20% to 40% -- and using that money to fund "equity" programs for struggling students in an effort to close one of the widest racial and ethnic achievement gaps in the state.

I couldn't read the whole article, it's too upsetting. Sure, we don't need to promote and help OVER ACHIEVERS anymore in AMERICA! Anyway, why bother, these are science classes; there will be no money for research soon anyhow, especially in the area of health/medicine. And, of course, we don't want to succeed TOO well because we won't be able to reap the benefits of that anyway, right? Not if leftwingers get their way and everyone's money is redistributed. But, heck, who's going to know how to do the math for redistribution?!

Here's the good part, liberal Berkeley's science students are THINKING TWICE about this silly political correctness........heck, this could be a GOOD THING after all!

Scott Brown won the CHARLES SUMNER seat in Massachusetts.........

I got this email and wanted to share it with you all.........makes me proud:

As the new senator from Massachusetts, Scott Brown, said: "It's not the Ted Kennedy seat. It's not the Democrat seat. It's the people's seat."
Instead of Ted, let's remember an honorable and courageous Republican senator who once filled the seat to which Scott Brown was elected.
Senator Charles Sumner (R-MA) was one of the founders of the Republican Party. Angered by Sumner's denunciations of slavery, a Democrat congressm
an beat him nearly to death on the floor of the U.S. Senate. Sumner responded with a classic denunciation of the Democratic Party for promoting The Barbarism of Slavery.
During the GOP's 1860 election campaign, Senator Sumner gave a speech that speaks to us today:
"If ever there was a moment when every faculty should be bent to the service, and all invigorated by an inspiring zeal, it is now, while the battle between Civilization and Barbarism is still undecided.
Happily, a political party is at hand whose purpose is to combine and direct all generous energies for the salvation of the country. The work must be done, and there is no other organization by which it can be done. A party with such an origin and such a necessity cannot be for a day, or for this election only.
If bad men conspire for slavery, good men must combine for freedom. And when this triumph is won, securing the immediate object of our organization, the Republican Party will not die, but, purified by long contest with slavery, and filled with higher life, it will be lifted to yet other efforts for the good of man.
Others may dwell on the past as secure; but to my mind, under the laws of a beneficent God, the future also is secure, on the single condition that we press forward in the work with heart and soul, forgetting self, turning from all temptations of the hour, and, intent only on the cause."
The day he died, Charles Sumner urged Republicans to stay true to the principles of our Grand Old Party: "My bill, the civil rights bill - don't let it fail." The Republican-controlled 43rd Congress honored his memory by passing the 1875 Civil Rights Act.

Sunday Faith Blog

See what remained standing among the ruins in Port au Prince?
Let's pray that the Haitians are also standing tall after all of this and that their faith grows and that, somehow, changes are made in their leadership to where they actually start to see prosperity in their country.
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." Proverbs 3:5,6
