Pinky,
That's Styx.
Gas is getting kinda pricey. I'm already forced to cut my molotov cocktails with water.

nanc, I really like that Cross song you linked! Thanks..
I'm still a big fan of the Rod Stewart I AM SAILING... do you know that one??
We shouldn't complain about gas prices too much - what should the Europeans say? Today, Super hit a record $8.66 per gallon in Germany. So they need the sails even more!
By-the-way: Since the efficiency of engines in cars is very low, and most energy is lost through heat, somebody finally had a good idea: Use the heat to drive a little turbine to generate additional electricity. While the sail is cute, this is a more realistic way to increase the efficiency of a car.
Mr. Z
I look at that picture and the JAWS theme comes to my mind..
Sailin'...doo do doo do doo do doo doo............
I oculd use one of those with my commute. Thank God it ends soon.
you must mean this one!
love rod - first time i ever saw him in concert was in san diego in 1970 or 71 when he was playing with the small faces.
nanc, I LOVE THAT..thanks!
I remember I took my secretary with me to a Rod Stewart concert here in about 1980 or so. I thought something was weird and finally realized "Linda? Are we the only 2 girls here with lipstick on?"
It was such a young hippie crowd that I think I was right!
WHAT a concert. I really do like his style.
o.t. - i've found something for you and mr. z to do on the 18th! well, if you don't have any plans...

Dear, Mr. Z,
I've never understood why the American auto industry, who did much to ORIGINATE the entire phenomenon, has not been eager to REVOLUTIONIZE their product and make it more fuel-efficient.
I have felt this way since 1972, the year the first "fuel crisis" was contrived by this greedy industry. It was also the year I started buying Toyotas.
There's an idiotic belief in this country that that owning a big, extra-heavy, showy, gas-guzzling vehicle is A) safer and more comfortable, B) a status-symbol that inflates the masculine ego and makes owners of these wasteful machines feel more "powerful" and more "important."
I am very much against government control of any industry, but one would think that American Industry, which USED to be so smart and innovative, would have gotten wise to itself by now, and made ever-greater fuel economy a TOP priority.
I am sure we could do much better. The question is why DON'T we?

Oh, MAN, nanc...and that's TEN MINUTES from us. That Sunday is NUTS because we're celebrating ARMED FORCES DAY and ARMED FORCES MINISTRY at our church with a service and a luncheon afterwards then I have to go sing for my old vocal coach and her new students/parents in the early evening. DARN! Thanks for the head's up.
FT: I don't have an answer, obviously, but a remark I have is that America wilL NEVER AGAIN be the big innovator in ANYTHING. It won't be able to. Obama, Hillary, the Dems, all want to tax corporations so high that we will have no money for years of experimentation. As I heard John Ratzenberger say the other day bemoaning the fact that America will not be an innovator because innovations were found mostly by accident; kids in the fields running and playing and learning that way, scientists with hours of experimentation time because they had the money to find the BEST products in healthcare, etc, for humanity, putting us on TOP.
never again.
Nanc,
Ew. Nail polish remover tastes nasty in a molotov cocktail.
