You simply must see this.....

Imagine what America's doing to our own health care?  Do we even CARE about our own citizens anymore?
I cry..........for those poor illegals whose country won't help them and, mostly, for US.   Meanwhile, Obama's doing about the same ineffective job Bush did keeping illegals out and people wonder why our costs are so high... make sure you watch the whole thing.  Incredible

Collateral Damage and Islamist terror

Sad that, this morning on television, they're repeatedly showing a simulation of the destruction which would have been caused had the Time Square bomber been successful. I say 'sad' because I'm not sure why they're showing it..... Does this help our public feel safer?   Do they really think that by showing this, people will be more vigilant, as if they could possibly stop every bomb from going off in a car?

Sadder yet is how Islamist terrorists use collateral damage as their stock and trade and Americans are chastised for allowing one poor family to be killed in any assault on those terrorists desirous of killing every single one of us.   Muslim success is 'the more innocents dead the better' (witnessed in Israel, too, of course, while Israelis are blasted for the slightest retaliation to whole buses being blown up which kill Jewish pregnant mothers, grandfathers, children...)

As we show explosions and how they look if successful, couldn't that give information to terrorists?  Should we also be showing, incessantly on every channel, the types of instruments of death terrorists were trying to use for airplanes, for example, if we hadn't found and confiscated them?   Isn't that a type of "Okay, Mohammed, they're on to the cell phones, they're on to that type of explosive,....go to Plan C and see how THAT works"?

Gosh, we Americans are so kind, so conscientious...... seemingly turning a blinder eye to our own soldiers putting themselves in danger in the effort to protect the families of murderers, showing what doesn't work in the world of terrorism and why, alerting terrorists to the kinds of things we're looking for at airports, etc etc.

Can we get around this, or is this what Islam is banking on and we are powerless to act differently because of leftwing worldviews?

Here (below in larger letters)  is the exact title from Reuters and Yahoo:  From the grammar, it looks like the writers are also here illegally :-)   But, you've GOT to read this article and see how the headline leaves Meg Whitman, the Republican Gubernatorial Candidate running against Jerry Brown looking REAL bad...if one doesn't KEEP READING!  Here it is:

Ex-maid says Whitman knew she in the U.S. illegally

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) – A former housekeeper to California Republican gubernatorial nominee Meg Whitman surfaced on Wednesday to say that the former eBay executive knowingly employed her illegally and treated her poorly.  The Whitman campaign moved quickly to counter the allegations by Nicky Diaz, saying the housekeeper from Mexico lied about her immigration status when she was hired in 2000, providing a Social Security card and other documents that appeared to show she could legally work in the United States.
Whitman also said that in coming forward with the potentially explosive allegations 35 days before the November 2 election, Diaz was being "manipulated" by attorney Gloria Allred, who has been a friend and supporter of Democratic rival Jerry Brown.
The accusations by Diaz come one day after the first debate between Brown and Whitman in a tight campaign in which both sides have courted the Latino vote, and could prove damaging to the Silicon Valley billionaire if they gain traction.
Whitman has worked hard to make inroads with Latino voters, who tend to vote Democratic, in her race against Brown, the former governor and current state attorney general.
At a news conference at her Los Angeles office, Allred said that Whitman never asked Diaz if she was in the country legally when Diaz was hired in 2000 and failed to pay her for all of the hours she was hired to work.
Allred also said that Whitman disregarded letters from the Social Security Administration notifying her that there were discrepancies with the Social Security number Diaz provided.
A tearful Diaz said she came to Whitman in June 2009 for help getting legal status, but that Whitman angrily fired her instead.
The Whitman campaign released a U.S. Immigration and Naturalization employment eligibility verification form signed by Diaz when she was hired by Whitman in which she asserts under penalty of perjury that she is a lawful permanent resident.
The campaign also released copies of the Social Security Card and California driver's license supplied by Diaz at the time she was hired, and an employment questionnaire in which she checked a box saying that she could legally accept employment. (end of article)
Z: EVEN MORE THIS.Don't you wonder how Allred felt about Geithner not paying his taxes, etc etc?  :-)
And, THIS just made the Yahoo Homepage Wednesday evening, a few hours after I'd written this post.  How rich do you think this illegal will get and how much will Allred make, or is Allred happy enough for having harmed the Republican's chances of beating the Democrat dope?  Again, see the title of the Yahoo piece...?  Fair?

Z: Odd that this would come out now, huh?   After all these years, and that Gloria Allred, very liberal backer of Brown would be the attorney?  BUT, the news has THE HEADLINE and very few of the stories will cover Whitman's defense of herself.  I'm not a Whitman fan AT ALL, and will only vote begrudgingly because California already's suffered under Ex-Governor Moonbeam's rule, but.........this is nuts.  The very idea that it's true is overcome by the timing and the venue of this woman's plight.  MAN.

Some mothers must work outside the home.  Nobody can even doubt that a little.  Many couples need the added income.   I don't happen to like it that mothers can't be home raising their kids, giving them confidence, character, etc., but, who really does?....and that's the new world, isn't it.  I also don't think it's always necessity which keeps moms from home,  but that's another topic for another day.  Maybe.

What prompted me to blog this today is I just heard a mother of a six month old and 3 yr old ask a mother of a 2 year old and four year old .."You're at home?  What do you DO ALL DAY?"

I thought "you have a six month old and a 3 yr old and can ask another mother what she DOES all day?"

Have we devalued raising children, or has pressure to look successful as a business woman brought those words to the young mom's lips?  I'd like to get a discussion going on this.............

in the meantime, I have a meeting I have to dash to and when I get home, Elmer's Brother and his adorable wife are coming in from Arizona and we're going out for dinner!   I wish you could ALL join us!

An Entrepreneur asks Obama a simple question:

A friend sent me this a week or so ago;  I have no idea who Dana Chapin is but I decided to print this and his name at the end because it's so important Americans hear this.   Read about a 'boy makes good' and how we have a president who seems to be trying to make 'boy fail':

September 10, 2010  Mr. President: Why Are You So Angry With Me?

Can anyone explain to me why the President is so persistently angry at successful people? In 1982, I essentially started with nothing when I graduated with average grades from UCLA. Through subsequent perseverance, risk, tenacity and hard work, I’ve managed to secure a vilified place in Barack Obama’s definition of the upper class.

Back in my undergrad days, not unlike many of my less than mature male classmates, I spent too much time chasing coeds and quaffing cheap beer, and too little time hitting the books. Fortunately, soon after graduating without distinction, I had a head on collision with ambition and ever since have had a love affair with hard work and the rewards it can bring.

Soon after entering the workforce, it didn’t take long to discover that current and future employers, not to mention myself, would be far better served if I became my own boss. Having to ask my superior when I could go to lunch or if I could extend my lunch hour didn’t agree with my personality, disposition or general aversion to subordination.

So at age 25, I convinced a very successful friend, twenty-years my senior, to back me on building a 7-unit apartment in Santa Monica, California. In the beginning, I really didn’t know what I was doing but my smooth tongue, quick-study attributes and will to succeed provided jet fuel for a budding enterprise. What started as a one-off apartment building quickly evolved into multiple properties culminating in the development of a 126-unit apartment building which we still own today.
By 1990 at the age of 31, I still had lousy cash flow but managed to create a net worth in excess of a million dollars. Twenty ye! ars ago, before twenty-something internet billionaires became commonplace, a two comma net worth at 30 was an achievement. Unfortunately, as quick as I reached seven digit status, my world began to crumble. It was 1991 and the country went into recession and Southern California real estate was in a free fall. There was actually a joke making the rounds that really illustrated my plight:  “Strolling down the street, two women crossed the path of a talking frog who announced his ability to transform into a real estate developer upon being kissed. One of the women picked up the frog and put it in her pocket sans kiss. Upon her friend’s curious query, the” frognapper” opined that a talking frog must be worth something, unlike a Southern California developer.”

Rags to riches to rags in about a half a decade! A new baby (entering NYU this week) added to the deep stress and the deep debt that began to mount.

Fast forward a couple years, to the rescue came my sister with an idea for a new business to make themed board games. With nothing to lose, I departed Los Angeles with a wife and toddler in tow and moved in with my in-laws in San Diego. Slowly but surely, the eighty-hour work weeks began to pay dividends. What started as small family enterprise with my sisters and one outsider began to grow. One million in sales the first year became three in the second and doubling again in the third. One employee became two, then five and so on. Our business became bankable providing we would agree to take survival-only wages and give personal guarantees. Paying off real estate debt would have to wait but I could at least feed my family and move out from my in-laws.

Today that business employs 35 people and enjoys millions in annual sales. While we’re profitable most years and have been in business for sixteen, the bank still requires personal guarantees on our lines of credit, so if our fortunes change, I’m still at risk of giving it all back and ! more.
In addition to this particular business, I’ve since restarted a real estate development business and started with my brother and wife a health insurance brokerage business selling mostly Health Savings Accounts (yes, I have strong opinions about ObamaCare).

All the while, the government enjoys the upside of my risk taking and none of the downside. With Obama’s tax increases on the “well off”, as a California resident, I will now pay in excess of 50% of all my income in the years I do make money. And yet, the President castigates me for being “rich” and “well connected”. I wonder if he considers how excessive tax rates adversely impact my ability—and incentive—to reinvest profits and grow my businesses; particularly in a tight credit environment. Furthermore, given the ever-growing government burdens placed on me as an employer, while it doesn’t take an act of Congress to consent to new hires, it is not without the fingerprints of Congress and the President that the bar has been raised significantly in convincing me to agree to add staff at any of my companies.

After toiling for nearly three decades, teetering on the edge of bankruptcy more than once in my career, the President has the temerity to pummel me with inflammatory rhetoric and endless additional taxes. I really do wish he would explain why he is so angry with me. My ascension to a status that has secured his continual ire didn’t come as a result of being a lucky sperm, unearned connections or laziness. With all due respect, long days, calloused hands, blind optimism and compartmentalized anxiety were the fuels that energized this journey—not to mention working under the greatest system in the history of the planet. A system where there is general consensus on the need to provide a safety net for the truly needy but shouldn’t be eviscerated to redistribute wealth garnered through ingenuity, guile, risk taking, sacrifice and hard work. !

Mr. President, I understand that my “Mr. Toads” wild career ride wouldn’t balance with everyone’s constitution. But it is imperative for you to understand that risk takers pull many in their wake as we raise the national economic tide to the benefit of the entire populous. Please allow me to do what your trillion-dollar stimulus has failed to do--create jobs. It is at the peril of the country and economy that you continue to lambast and over-tax our kind.  (Written by: Dane Chapin, CEO, USAOPOLY)

Do you have one special book?

... a book you couldn't give away or sell if someone paid you BIG BUCKS?
I'm going through shelf after shelf after shelf in our office and packing book boxes and throwing some books away.....I have a lot of German books and most of those are leaving Chez Z........They must.  I need the room and there's no sense in my keeping them. (Mr Z's kids already went through the books and took what they wanted, which wasn't much)

I was SO BLESSED that something made me open one of the thicker books before I tossed it:  It says, in tiny penciled words next to the inked and rather young signature of my husband, "First book I bought with my own money."
Think I could give THAT away?
NOOOO way. By the way, it seems like it's a history of the world kind of book, Auszug aus der Geshichte..Mr. Z always did love reference books, etc etc.

Is there one book you absolutely will never let go of, whether it's got sentimental value like this one does for me, or you just love having it, or you read it again and again (Something I don't really understand;  my British business partner told me he'd read DAY OF THE JACKAL thirty times and was reading it again once when I was at his home!)....?

What do you think?  GOT A BOOK LIKE THAT?

Neuschwanstein Castle......let's start the week off without politics.........okay, for only a few hours, anyway!

The original Disney Castle! A Swan and wonderful views, taken by Mr. Z's daughter in Germany the other day.............There's still a lot of beauty in this world!

Save Democrat support, risk our troops?

Remember that Bob Woodward has written a book about Obama and war and he talked about how Obama said he's making decisions about the war based on his political party and how he "can't lose the whole Democratic Party?"  What ever happened with that story?   Do you see how the media shut it down by not playing it for more than the probably five minutes FOX spent on it?  Maybe some TalkRadio told the truth, too, but I didn't hear it on any radio I listen to.  Here's part of THIS STORY from US News and World Report:

 BY Aliyah Shahid
President Obama wanted out of Afghanistan last year.
And although the president agreed to triple troop levels in the embattled country, some in Obama's national security team doubt that his strategy in Afghanistan will even be successful, according to a new book by journalist Bob Woodward.
Click here to find out more!
The book, Obama's Wars, details how the Obama Administration was -- and is -- extremely divided over strategy in Afghanistan. According to the book, the president said "I have two years with the public on this" and asked his advisers how to avoid a big escalation in the nine-year, U.S.-led Afghanistan war, The Associated Press reported.
Obama also told advisers "I want an exit strategy" and privately told Vice President Joe Biden to push his plan against the sending of additional troops.
While the president ultimately rejected that plan and decided to send in an additional 30,000 troops (the military wanted 40,000) the book says Obama was at odds several aides and set a withdrawal timeframe because "I can't lose the whole Democratic Party."

I would have thought  Americans would be up at arms at a president making decisions involving the lives of our troops based on HIS PARTY and HIS CAREER............yet, who ever discussed this, who ever brought this into the mainstream media?

Nobody, that's who.  Do you think it should have been?
For the record, I just heard Chris Wallace cover this on FOX...darn.  I got there FIRST :-)  I didn't see its earlier broadcast, I'm listening to it in the other room now on rerun!

Sunday Faith Blog...........Grace and Peace with God

Justice = Getting what you deserve.
Mercy = Not getting what you deserve.
Grace = Getting what you don't deserve.

"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you.  I do not give to you as the world gives.  Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid."  John 14:27

"I do not give to you as the world gives."  Such an important thing to remember...and the GRACE he gives is the best gift ever, and we so don't deserve it.  I love this saying I just heard the other day:
You can't have the peace of God without making peace with God.
Have a wonderful, peace-making, peaceful Sunday.

Democrats and Republicans..........

What gridlock looks like.......both trying to get in at the same time and neither doing any good for anybody.

Drink that Coke might be your last

How is government working to limit your scrumptious individual liberties? Let us count some of the ways…
  • As we’ve reported, officials in Boston, Mass., are contemplating a ban on “sugary” beverages from the vending machines of all city municipal buildings in an attempt to whittle down public employees’ waistlines.
  • Likewise, San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom used his executive order power to ban sodas and other sugary beverages from public building vending machines, replacing them with diet drinks and soy milk products.
  • In a separate executive order, the San Francisco Mayor also single-handedly banned the use of city funds to purchase bottled water. “[Bottled water manufacturers] are making huge amounts of money selling God’s natural resources. Sorry, we’re not going to be part of it,” he said.
  • The New York Times dubbed the state of California a “national trendsetter in all matters edible” when Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger signed a bill in July to ban trans fats from the state’s 88,000 restaurants.  “Under the new law, trans fats, long linked to health problems, must be excised from restaurant products beginning in 2010, and from all retail baked goods by 2011.”  Other places that have banned trans fats include New York City, Philadelphia, Stamford, Conn., and Montgomery County, Md. — a suburb of Washington, D.C.
  • In perhaps one of the most outrageous cases of regulations restricting small business, health officials in Oregon shut down 7-year-old Julie Murphy’s roadside lemonade stand in August for failing to secure a $120 “temporary restaurant” license.
  • Kids may also be also be getting the shaft in San Francisco where officials are launching a campaign to ban “Happy Meals” or any other meals that come with a toy.  The so-called “Healthy Meals Incentive” would ban toys if the food contains too much fat, sugar or salt.  It wouldn’t be the first time meal-time toys would be nixed in California; earlier this year, Santa Clara County approved an ordinance “to break the link between unhealthy food and prizes.”
  • New York City has banned school bake sale as part of a new wellness policy that also limits options in vending machines and student-run stores.  Proceeds from the ventures generally used to help help finance school-related activities like pep rallies and proms.
  • Under state laws in Texas, a single piece of candy landed a 10-year-old Brazos Elementary School student in detention for a week in May.
Z: And, of course, the Leftwingers will say "But, how can anybody argue with this?  Sugar isn't good for you!  Extra weight isn't good for you! ..etc etc."   See the cunning, conniving excuses?   Do they not realize that FREEDOM is being able to be FREE to eat and drink what you want...?  Don't they see that WE can decide what we're going to eat and drink?  And, one by one, these ridiculous government limitations are happening............when will they stop, when we're all little vegans running around in Mao jackets?
The above information is from THE BLAZE, a new internet site by Glenn Beck.
Please, if you don't like the messenger, nobody cares, no comments necessary, because the points above are irrefutable and that's what I'd like to address our comments to.  Thanks..

Please read our friend Joe's latest blog post HERE ... I think it says a lot and I agree with him.......I hope you do, too.  "PTA" in his title has nothing to do with education :-)

Larry Elder REALLY tells it like it is.........

BY LARRY ELDER:(Z: the punchline paragraph at the end is worth it....hang in there)
Larry ElderWhat happens when an Australian(!) Muslim cleric calls for the beheading of a Dutch politician? Not much.

What happens when an American pastor no one ever heard of threatens to burn a Quran? It ignites an international outcry.

Terry Jones, pastor of a 50-member church in Gainesville, Florida, threatened to burn the Quran as a protest against the proposed construction of a mosque near the site of the World Trade Center. Democrats and Republicans denounced Jones. Gen. David Petraeus, U.S. commander in Afghanistan, warned that Jones' action would put American troops in Iraq and Afghanistan at risk, and he personally telephoned the pastor to dissuade him.

Those who would desecrate the Quran or who would draw a cartoon of Prophet Muhammad or who would otherwise "disrespect" Islam run the risk of being murdered. This is quite a response from followers of what President George W. Bush called a "religion of peace," the "hijacking" of which motivated the 9/11 hijackers. Bush repeatedly distinguished between a war against Islamofascism and a war on Islam. But the distinction apparently collapses if one pastor doesn't get the memo.

How dare this pastor of some church-nobody-heard-of show insufficient respect for Islam, many of whose followers support a global jihad that demands replacement of all non-Islamic governments, as well as the conversion of all to Islam, by force if necessary?

Where is the international outcry from this recent story from Reuters?
"A well-known Australian Muslim cleric has called for the beheading of Dutch anti-Islamic politician Geert Wilders....

"The Sydney-born (Feiz) Muhammad has gained notoriety for, among other things, calling on young children to be radicalized and blaming rape victims for their own attacks.

"(De Telegraaf, the Netherlands' largest newspaper) posted an English-language audio clip in which he refers to Wilders as 'this Satan, this devil, this politician in Holland' and explains that anyone who talks about Islam like Wilders does should be executed by beheading....

"Wilders is currently on trial in the Netherlands for inciting hatred and discrimination against Muslims.

"The Freedom Party leader made a film in 2008 which accused the Quran of inciting violence and mixed images of terrorist attacks with quotations from the Islamic holy book.

"Wilders was also charged because of outspoken remarks in the media, such as an opinion piece in a Dutch daily in which he compared Islam to fascism and the Quran to Adolf Hitler's book Mein Kampf."
Civil libertarian groups vigorously defend vile but protected speech. Where are the free-speech groups denouncing Wilders' prosecution for making abrasive comments? Or does the right to free speech only apply to the nasty comments routinely made on cable shows by Sarah Palin/Glenn Beck/tea party-hating lefties?

If a proposed Quran burning generates international news and condemnation, isn't the call by an Australian Muslim cleric for the beheading of a democratically elected European politician worthy of a few moments on the network nightly news?

Offensive acts by non-Muslims provoke calls for sensitivity and understanding. Offensive acts by Muslims generate indifference rather than denunciations of the barbarous statements and acts that Muslim clerics and others call for in the name of Islam.

Why the double standard?

Dr. Fred Gottheil is an economics professor at the University of Illinois. He calls himself a "Keynesian-type economist" who is "not afraid of deficit spending" -- not exactly Reaganesque.

In January 2009, some 900 academics signed a four-page petition calling for a U.S. abandonment of the support of Israel. Gottheil learned that many of the petition signatories belonged to faculty from women's and gender studies departments. He decided to conduct an experiment.

Would the same professors sign a "Statement of Concern" over the anti-human rights, anti-gay, anti-woman practices in the Muslim Middle East? Gottheil composed a four-page document citing evidence of atrocities, along with the names of Muslim clerics and scholars defending these violations of human decency. He e-mailed his statement to 675 signers of the anti-Israel petition.

What happened? "The results were surprising," Gottheil said, "even though I thought the responses would be few. They were almost nonexistent."

Bottom line: Barbarity in the name of Islam is not even remotely condemned to the degree that the West condemns insensitivity by cartoonists, politicians and anti-Islam clerics. Why? A denunciation of Muslim practices suggests a superiority of American values and culture. The left finds the very notion objectionable.

Gottheil put it this way: "If leftist 'progressives' really cared about women, gays and lesbians, then they would be fighting for their rights in places where such rights are really violated -- like under Hamas in Gaza and under the mullahs in Iran. But doing so would legitimize their own society and its values and therefore completely cripple their entire identity and life purpose, and so their purported concern for women, gays and lesbians has to go out the window."

It is a bizarre and dangerous double standard that allows a Pastor Jones to become more notorious than a Feiz Muhammad.

Help us with this...........a question that we must find an answer to.........

Nobody can deny that American politics are very, very polarized ...Left and Right seem to be grabbing for some 'win' which is making all of us big losers because the WIN is becoming more important than THE COUNTRY.    Some say this is like the Civil War and it'll take civil war to get us through it..............but that was North/ it's Left/Right...........Here is the question we should all be asking, and I know most of you have thought about it:

What will it take to solve this enormous and very angry divide?

I would LOVE to give my two bits on this here and now but want to give you a chance.  Please give this some thought and tell us all what you think we can do to help our country survive.

A Friend's thoughts on America and Islam..and Obama's church service (you won't believe this!)

I received this email today and wanted to share it with you. I'd forwarded our friend and fellow blogger Mustang's post HERE and asked her to respond since she and I'd been talking about Islam and Christianity in America:

"You know, I took a look at some verses from th Qur'an and I saw some pretty disturbing things. I do believe that we should remain suspect and vigilant about Islam in America. (Not to mention around the world) My experience with Muslims as I was growing up was very different from what I know of Muslims today. The Muslims I grew up around were "Black Muslims". They were based in a community steeped in Christianity. Their voice was small and they were tamped down at every turn because they preached racism. BUT, they were never violent. The truth is, their main reason for being was to bring young black men back to their responsibilities. To teach them the importance of integrity, manhood, fatherhood and leadership. Problem is, they were going about it in the wrong way. It's as if they took Islam and started making up their own rules. I don't know ... just didn't work, especially when Malcolm X discovered that you didn't have to be black to be a good Muslim. That started a crack in the black muslim movement that could NOT be repaired.
Today's Muslim is a whole different story. I have heard it said that you can't pick and choose how you interpret "freedom of religion" in America. This may be true, but, if a particular religion infringes on other freedoms provided by the Constitution I think it is important to stop and take a good look at what is going on. After all we would not allow any religion to sexually abuse a child ... or would we (i.e., Warren Jeffers). I believe that freedom of one person's religion ends when they bring it to my doorstep and demand that I ascribe to their beliefs. According to Islam, that is their goal -- that I MUST ascribe to their beliefs. THIS is a problem. And, I don't think that the tenets of Islam recognize the Constitution and therefore ... maybe ... it should not be considered a ... religion ... I don't know Z ... it's so hard to find a real and workable answer ... but I do believe that Islam can become -- scratch that -- IS BECOMING a big problem for America. I think that we need to look for a solution that works for AMERICA not one that works for Islam. The PC folks have lost their minds and are trying to take the rest of us with them. If Islam is not compatible with America and the Constitution then Muslims need to go to a country where it works for them. My compassion for anyone's cause stops when you try to stop me from worshiping the Lord."

The quote in red particularly seems cogent and important these days.........When America started slipping, we started forgetting to put our country first, to err on OUR side (as I so often bemoan).... DO we have a chance if we don't start heeding that sentence?
BY the way,
I just saw our friend Cube's blog where she has THIS ARTICLE which cracked me UP! You all saw that the Obamas went to church this last Sunday for the third time since the election, right? Well, it looks like they went to hear a Muslim speaker! Man, you can't make this stuff UP! Oh...and no, the media didn't tell America about that...oh, would THAT look? :-)

Andrew Breitbart gets at the truth again.......Unions organized to protest Glenn Beck

In the video, Andrew Breitbart asks an angry crowd why they're protesting Beck's appearance outside Chicago, Illinois this last weekend.....people are carrying signs and nobody can answer his questions about why they're there! They can't back what their sign says...and then someone says "Let's leave" and they're herded on to school buses to go........somewhere, as a group, trying to act as if they're individuals with a mission and nobody put them up to this! Hear what Andrew asks and how they respond.

What do you think? Would you approach that crowd as Andrew did? Wouldn't you think more than one of them could have at least been primed to answer questions? Pretty transparent, isn't it.....they were put up to this protest and it seems almost like they didn't know who sent them (or was paying them?)

41 Obama White House aides owe the IRS $831,000 in back taxes -- and they're not alone

From the LA Times (believe it or not), comes THIS ARTICLE from which I've clipped this as a teaser (everything below that's in italics) for you:

"Over the years a lot of suspicion has built up across the country about Washington and its population of opportunistic transients coming to see themselves as a special kind of person, somehow above average working Americans who don't labor down in that monument-strewn former swamp.

Well, finally, an end to all those undocumented doubts. Thanks to some diligent digging by the Washington Post, those suspicions can at last be put to rest.

They're correct. Accurate. Dead-on. Laser-guided. On target. Bingo-bango. As clear as it's always seemed to those Americans who don't feel special entitlements and do meet their government obligations..... " Z: Then there's THIS! (In the LA TIMES??? THE LIBERAL LA TIMES?!):

"....And then we learned this guy Timothy Geithner owed something like $42,000 in back taxes and penalties to the IRS, which is one of the agencies that he'd be in charge of as secretary of the Treasury. The fine fellow who's supposed to know about handling everyone else's money. In the end this was excused by Washington's bipartisan CYA culture as one of those inadvertent accidental oversights that somehow never seem to happen on the side of paying too much taxes.

And under Geithner's expert guidance the U.S. economy has been, well, wow! Just look at it.

Privacy laws prevent release of individual tax delinquents' names. But we do know that as of the end of 2009, 41 people inside Obama's very own White House owe the government they're allegedly running a total of $831,055 in back taxes. That would cover a lot of special chocolate desserts in the White House Mess."

But it gets even worse as the article continues:

"Over at the Justice Department, which is so busy enforcing other laws and suing Arizona, 1,971 employees still owe $14,350,152 in overdue taxes.

Then, we come to the Department of Homeland Security, which is run by Janet Napolitano, the former governor of Arizona who preferred to call terrorist acts "man-caused disasters." Homeland Security is keeping all of us safe by ensuring that a brave Dutch tourist is aboard every inbound international flight to thwart any would-be bomber with explosives in his underpants.

Within that department, there reside 4,856 people who owe the tax agency a whopping total of $37,012,174. And they're checking our pockets for metal and coins?"

Z: And some here were belittling Alan West a few posts back for his bit of unpaid taxes? REALLY? So, the LA Times (and the Washington POST, I'm reeling with incredulity and delight at two liberal papers actually TELLING THE TRUTH) has let America know what's up. Think CNN will cover this? :-) Daily Kos? Moveon? What spin will they put on it?

SO, what do you think should be done about this huge debt to And what's this say about the Obama White House? Shouldn't he be demanding HIS PEOPLE pay up? And hey, what's this say about the Washington Post (from which some of this info came from, according to the Times article) and the L.A. Times? It CAN'T mean that media's actually getting HONEST, could it!?

Blame BUSH?

When someone brings up the "fact" that Geo. W. Bush is to blame for the fiscal mess just quote this:
This from a Yahoo “green shoots” article commenter:
January 3rd, 2007 was the day the Democrats took over the Senate and the
At the time:
1. The DOW Jones closed at 12,621.77
2. The GDP for the previous quarter was 3.5%
3. The Unemployment rate was 4.6%
4. George Bush’s Economic policies SET A RECORD of 52 STRAIGHT MONTHS of JOB CREATION!
Remember the day...
1. January 3rd, 2007 was the day that Barney Frank took over the House
Financial Services Committee and Chris Dodd took over the Senate Banking Committee.
2. The economic meltdown that happened 15 months later was in what part of
3. Thank Congress for taking us from 13,000 DOW, 3.5 GDP and 4.6%
Unemployment to this CRISIS by dumping 5-6 TRILLION Dollars of toxic loans
on the economy from YOUR Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac fiasco’s! (BTW: Bush asked Congress 17 TIMES to stop Fannie & Freddie - starting in 2001, because it was financially risky for the U.S. economy, but no one was listening).
And who took the THIRD highest pay-off from Fannie Mae AND Freddie Mac? (Obama)

And who fought against reform of Fannie and Freddie???
(OBAMA and the Democratic Congress.)
So when someone tries to blame Bush...
REMEMBER JANUARY 3rd, 2007....

Then we have THIS!

This is sheer genius

In a bid to stem taxpayer losses for bad loans guaranteed by
federal housing agencies Fanny Mae and Freddy Mac, Senator Bob Corker (R-Tenn) proposed that borrowers be required to make a 5% down payment in order to qualify. His proposal was rejected 57-42 on a party-line vote because,as Senator Chris Dodd (D-Conn) explained,

"passage of such a requirement would restrict home
ownership to only those who can afford it."

Wouldn't it be nice if more Americans knew the facts above? But, oh, well..............we can hope. And we can pray. And we can expect a miracle in November, because it'll have to be miracle as the media's doing everything in its power to collude with the White House and make sure people are on their side.

Allen West's situation....We have GOT to stop the left's behavior...and soon

Greetings Patriot,

How would you feel if you arrived home after work only to hear your two teenage daughters describe the mailing your family received, publicly disclosing your Social Security number? And imagine your disgust when you discover the same mailing had just been sent to thousands of homes across Broward and Palm Beach Counties?

Well, that just happened to me on Friday evening.

Incumbent Ron Klein has just sunk to an unprecedented new low in American politics. Klein has sent my social security number to voters all across Florida's 22nd Congressional District.

I understand politics is a tough business. I expect to be challenged about my ideas, my beliefs.

But Ron Klein has clearly crossed a line. Our lawyers are reviewing what legal action is available to my family.

I'm not yet sure the potential damage that might come to my wife and me.

And it makes me sick to think of what could happen to my daughters.

South Florida has the highest number of incidents of identity theft in the country - my entire family is now at risk of having our identities stolen. So we now have to start the long, complicated, drawn-out process of requesting new Social Security numbers, and all the troubles that come with that.

His type of politics must end now. If Ron Klein and his Liberal cronies will do this to me and my family, what will they do to each of you?

This is a despicable act by a desperate politician who is in danger of losing his job.

I have longed believed that the liberals would do anything just to stay in power. But never in my wildest dreams did I believe they would stoop this low.

Klein has once again aroused my competitive spirit. I am more determined than ever to spread the word of our cause to restore character, honor and integrity to Congress.

Will you redouble your efforts as well? Let's show Ron Klein his below the belt political smears have no place in America.

Help deliver our message of limited government, lower taxes and a strong national defense by donating to our cause. If you can afford $22, $50, $100, or even $250, we can get our message across to the voters that Ron Klein's career must end.

I'm ready to fight. Join with us to ensure integrity is returned to politics in America.

Steadfast and Loyal,
West signature
LTC(R) Allen B. West

The Media's busy for November...campaigning for the Left (again)

OOOH, could it be true?.....Republicans in Montana : KEEP HOMOSEXUALITY ILLEGAL (Associated Press, YAHOO headline on their homepage for ALL TO SEE!) Read this whole article, it's not long, and tell me if that title fits.......
The story is about a bunch of Montana Republican politicians who do NOT think any homosexuals should be arrested so homosexuality should surely not be illegal, but the headline sure tells another story.......from the story:
"Nobody has ever taken the initiative to change it (the platform point) and so it's remained in the party platform, Greenwood said. The matter has never even come up for discussion, he said."

Take a look and see what you think.......It sounds to me this situation is rather like the sodomy laws or even some laws banning certain other kinds of sex between husbands/wives which some states
still have on their books, (laws people haven't done over because NOBODY ENFORCES THEM anyway), have been forgotten in the complexities of other, more pertinent situations. To suggest, as AP did in the HEADLINE and the linked article, that ANY Republican wants homosexuality to remain ILLEGAL is dishonest and just plain STUPID. (Hey, I just defined the media.)
Oh, and I'll bet the media will find a few other states with Republicans sounding like gay-hating thugs....wait for it.
It's ONLY just begun.........what else do you think they'll come up with before November?

TWO terms is the LIMIT!?

CURTIS AND LEROY: "Limit all politicians to TWO TERMS. One in office. One in Prison."
Got this in an email today and couldn't resist!

Sunday Faith Blog........are Atheists like NAZIS?

Pope in the UK: Atheists Like Nazis

The British Humanist Association was quick to respond to the Pope's remarks, noting in a statement: “The notion that it was the atheism of Nazis that led to their extremist and hateful views or that it somehow fuels intolerance in Britain today is a terrible libel against those who do not believe in God.
“The notion that it is nonreligious people in the U.K. today who want to force their views on others, coming from a man whose organization exerts itself internationally to impose its narrow and exclusive form of morality and undermine the human rights of women, children, gay people, and many others, is surreal.”

Z: How many of you think the Pope is right? Before I go on, I'd like to say I know there are atheists who believe as they do and don't have any intention of slamming the faithful for their beliefs in God, like Conservative S.E. Cupp, for example, to only name one of many. HUMANISTS can't seem to grasp the goodness and value of God in society.... What are your thoughts? Man over God doesn't seem to be working for us........

"In the shelter of your presence you hide them from the intrigues of men; in your dwelling you keep them safe from accusing tongues." Psalms 31:20

"You will be protected from the lash of the tongue, and need not fear when destruction comes." Job 5:21

Have a good Sunday........stand up for your faith, remember how much better off our children and our country were before secularism rose to such new heights. Let me add that I hope our Jewish pals here had a very meaningful Yom Kippur.

The Chosen People?

I'm adding THIS LINK from our pal Chuck's terrific blog because I'd like you to read that and then read my post:

Huffington Posts's headline tonight:
"Christine O'Donnell compares Conservatives to The Chosen People".......REALLY? Do the following words from a speech by O'Donnell tonight sound like that to you, or was she making a pretty good, understandable comparison here?:

O'DONNELL: And the Constitution is making a comeback. It's simply unprecedented in my lifetime. I think it's a little like the chosen people of Israel and the Hebrew scriptures, who cycle through periods of blessing and suffering and then return to the divine principles in their darker days. It's almost as if we're in a season of constitutional repentance. When our country's on the wrong track, we search back to our first covenant, our founding documents, and the bold and inspired values on which they were based. Those American values enshrined in the Declaration provide the real answer.

Oh, wait...I see; Maybe Huffington's implying that the only people who want the Constitution to make a comeback ARE Conservatives?? I think most Americans do, don't you, Democrat or Republican? What do you think? :-)

Meanwhile, I'm really glad the Democrats aren't nervous! THIS is quite a story....Their new line is "You may hate us but the GOP is worse"....very effective, but do Americans, including Independents, really want to hear Democrats whining about us hating them? This could backfire on the Democrats.

AND...Sarah Palin's saying THIS........Republicans had better unite. Better yet, CONSERVATIVES had better unite.....the thing is, we need the GOP to get with us$$$....and I think they will. remember that link at Chuck' think ANY Republican's going to get a fair shake in the mainstream media? Do you think they'll highlight any of the terrific things O'Donnell OR Palin have said?....can the media even recognize those things as being what more than half of America wants to hear? This isn't a one-off situation, it can't be...........we need to do something about our media or we're forever going to be stuck in OZ clicking our red shoes and never getting back to OUR AMERICA where we had an honest media taught by honest journalist profs(do they even teach Who, What, When, Where, Why, and you NEVER give your opinion unless it's an Editorial piece? NO, I don't think so, not anymore)............Without changing the media to be FAIR, we'll be stuck with Huffington Post misrepresentations, Democrats getting big billing in the news saying "Republicans are worst than WE ARE" and we all know what this mainstream media did to Palin.

American school kids visit a mosque.........and pray

PLEASE see Brooke's VIDEO AT HER BLOG....HERE...see how a even a faithful follower finds fault in an Imam taking the small daughter of a friend to his bed ... (he thought the imam should have at least chosen "an older daughter of their host"!)
But THIS OTHER VIDEO BROOKE FOUND will BLOW YOUR MIND. That's about a school in Watertown, Massachusetts which took their kids to a mosque to 'see the architecture...'. A mother went along on this 'field trip' and took video of the kids, even some Jewish boys, bowing to Allah as they led them in 'worship' as part of the 'architectural tour'. The girls had to leave at that point, after having been told that women got the vote in Arabia long before they got it here: a complete lie, of course. The Imam who runs that mosque is in prison for terror ties.
There is a booklet about how to get American kids to consider becoming Muslims, saying that our schools have "poorly considered social studies curriculae.." and Muslims need to "...take advantage.." of that. The imam says our children "fertile ground..because children are receptive to new ideas.." THAT is what this mosque is about....paid for with Saudi money.
The mother who was so shocked, videoing what she was seeing, kept saying quietly
"Oh, my GOD!" but did NOTHING. She says she just wanted to go home. Very effective, huh? Then, "Mrs. Ostrich" waited for the teachers to speak up as the children bowed to Allah, but nobody did. She thought they were "afraid to offend."
When will that stop? Should she or the teachers not have spoken up?
By the way, this huge mosque is referred to as a "Center" New York's. Interesting, isn't it.
Please see the video at Brooke's and the video in the second link about that school trip, you will not believe what you see.

Epidemics and Illegals

THIS article touched my heart more than it may some of you because my father lost a 2 year old brother to whooping cough many years ago and it never was far from my grandparents' minds.
Whether your family suffered with this disease at all doesn't matter anymore...we had virtually eliminated it. Today, it's back (see link)...the worst figures since 1955.
SuperBug is scary, too, very scary..........and there are several types.
Tuberculosis, too, is on the rise and we thought we'd beat that, also. I'm hoping the Polio vaccines children get will be enough to keep that a thing of the past.

We used to insist immigrants be checked for diseases before entering the United States. We'd got good control of Tuberculosis, whooping cough and superbugs weren't known, really. When I moved to Paris, I had to go through lung Xrays and other testing just to get my "Carte de Sejour" (or identity card)... but, today we're exposing ourselves to a problem that many don't recognize is probably yet another adjunct to the price, maybe the biggest price, of illegal immigration. Yet, of course, if we dare say this, WE are the bad guys. That kind of ridiculous accusation has to stop....this is important and we should be doing more, but what?

How do we cope with this?

Australia and Oprah......who foots the bill?

Oprah's bringing a whole studio audience to Australia.......She'll be shooting a show or two there, I guess. If and when you'd heard about this trip, didn't you think SHE was paying? Maybe I'm reading it wrong, but it looks like Australia's getting the tab because their Tourism Minister thinks that'll bring more tourists to their country. Well, at least they'll have about 300 tourists all coming together with her, right? In a plane flown by John Travolta. (WHAT?)
Oprah is apparently worth $1.5 BILLION dollars, wouldn't you have thought she's footing the bill when she comes out on the stage and raises her arms and says "You're all going to AUSTRALIA!"? (What a woman! What a trip! What generosity on her part!) That's chump change for her.....I sure thought she was paying. What do you think of all of this? HERE is what most Aussie's think. Can't say's I blame 'em, Mate!

Did the Tea Party embolden Republicans?

I had another post planned tonight but then got to thinking about yesterday's (thank you so much for your comments) and wondered what you think:
Suddenly, since her Primary Win, Republicans are gathering around O'Donnell (Karl Rove is pretty much the exception): Cornyn is there, Romney is right there, and Michael Steele is endorsing her......Here's one question:
Do you think that Republicans have been intimidated into believing that most of America wants what the leftwing media says it wants? Do you think they've been "Democrat Lite" because they thought they couldn't get elected if they stayed on the Right? Do you think they thought the country'd moved too far from Reagan? With this hideous anti-capitalism ("Wall Street's evil") and move toward Socialism ("We'll pay for everything...don't you worry about a thing"), do you think the Republicans thought they couldn't win by standing by the Constitution and furthering capitalism and individual self-reliance, etc etc? Will they go further Right now, standing behind OUR convictions, because of O'Donnell's win?

Do you think O'Donnell's win in Delaware (and Rand Paul in KY, etc. etc.) has emboldened Republicans to BE REPUBLICANS again?....even those very entrenched in the RNC?
What do you think?

A Storm in a Tea Cup?

So, we've got lots of Tea Party candidates winning...HURRAH!! But, REALLY? Hurrah?
These are people who probably can't win in November. I can't stand moderate Republicans but I'd rather have a moderate Republican than a Democrat. We had Republicans voting for Obama or not voting at all "just to teach the GOP a good lesson!" and then we lost everything....maybe even our country.

So, you start to wonder; As much as I support most everything the Tea Partiers support; and while I know with certainty they're not racists as the silly left suggested and got nowhere with their accusations, and I feel that the Tea Party people have great values and want this country to prosper and for their children to get ahead...while all of that's great, I'm starting to wonder what's happened...........AND, I'm wondering if the Republicans, the GOP, will back these people. In my opinion, they kind of HAVE to, but will they do it big enough to beat the Dems? Or, will they pull what so many Conservatives pulled in '08 and not support the Tea Party candidates "to teach the Tea Partiers a good lesson!"? And, is there a 'mad hatter' behind the scenes?

Most of the Tea Party winners who'll be competing in November are backed by Palin who's really ONLY popular among SOME in the Tea Parties..... NOT the majority of the electorate by a long shot. I will say that if we our new candidates fill those tea cups with good, solid Reaganesque platform information and the media is fair and doesn't chip away at them all as it did at Palin, we COULD convince moderate Democrats and many Independents......

BUT........while I'm ALL FOR the platforms and values of very conservative candidates and it's exciting to seem them beat the moderate RINOs, is this REALLY a good thing? CAN we win in November with Palin candidates? And have we handed the Democrats their OCTOBER SURPRISE that'll get THEM reelected?

Just wondering......... Give me your best shots, I can take it! Give me some optimism here!

How can America survive SOROS?

September 11, 2010

Soros' latest gambit

George Soros, patron saint of Democrats everywhere, sugar daddy of their party, early backer of Barack Obama, funder of influential think tanks (such as the omnipresent Center for American Progress, a group that has become a media mouthpiece), and the grand champion funder of 527 groups nationwide (such as has been funding the takeover of one more branch of government: states' judiciary, according to this Washington Post:

Record spending on judicial elections around the country has prompted calls for changes from a broad array of advocates, including moderate conservatives such as retired Supreme Court justice Sandra Day O'Connor.

But a report issued Thursday by a small conservative group active in judicial elections alleges that the efforts to change such elections amount to a campaign to bolster liberals, with backing from financier and philanthropist George Soros.

The report from the American Justice Partnership alleges that Soros has spent millions on "a highly coordinated, well-funded campaign" to "fundamentally alter the composition of America's state courts."

Colleen Pero, a Michigan judicial activist who wrote Thursday's report, said she combed through tax records from Soros's foundations to identify more than $45 million given within the past decade to advocacy groups dealing with judicial issues.

Of course, Soros and his allies and employees are fighting back-justifying their actions by bringing out the old bugaboo of corporate America. They justify their efforts by characterizing them as defensive and, of course, they portray themselves as the selfless good guys.

Aryeh Neier, president of Soros's institute and foundations, said he is proud of efforts to limit the influence of corporations and other special interests in state courts, noting a recent Supreme Court decision that rebuked a judge for helping decide a case benefiting a coal company that supported his election.

"Increasingly there has been corrupt influence on state judiciaries through spending in elections," Neier said. "As far as I'm concerned, this is essential work to try to protect their integrity

I don't buy what they are selling. Soros is also one of the prime movers behind the Democracy Alliance - a shadowy and powerful group that, among other goals, has been trying to pick and choose who gets elected as Secretary of States in key states. These are the officials in charge of securing the integrity of elections. Does anyone think that those officials, including Minnesota's Secretary of State who was elected with help from the Democracy Alliance and where Al Franken's election to the Senate is suspect, will be completely free of the influence of George Soros and his friends?

The latest gambit to gain control of the state courts is one more ominous chess move by Soros, While the Koch brothers are highlighted as Public Enemy number One (and Two) by the liberal media because they fund conservative groups, George Soros all but gets a pass despite his many tentacle grasp for power.

They got otherwise fairly bright Americans (Democrats) to actually believe Wall St is ALL BAD, Obama doesn't miss a chance to slam ALL AMERICA, imagine? And these dopes fall for it and now we're facing this kind of thing? So, what do you think? This kind of stuff's going on, Dem election fraud in 2008 has been revealed, Dems are talking amnesty for illegals (voting next, of course) and getting felons the vote.......A country whose officials have been elected by criminals, illegals and Soros we have a chance?

Are you a racist?

Do you like him any better now? Me, neither. Then you're not a racist :-)
Ya, this is probably REAL bad taste but it made me laugh so hard I had to blog it!!

The Jetsons are coming....?

Remember THE JETSONS? For those of you who don't, it was a space age cartoon some of us watched as kids, a show where a family lived in a kind of space needle home and putted around the sky in an air-car with their dog* to the store and the hair salon, etc. We all thought it was NUTS, "this could never happen!" They flew around from time to time, but they could do everything from home. They even had a robot maid. Obviously, we don't FLY around literally, like they did, but we might as well be flying, in a sense, as we stay in our cars and go from place to place.

So, living and flying around in insulated sorts of 'bubbles', never really making contact with other people in their own insulated that a good thing?

A fellow who attends my church
is in a wheel chair but has fair use of his arms, thankfully. I see him on the streets more frequently than I'd have expected because I just don't see many people I know tooling around town. I'll turn into a restaurant parking lot and see Sam scooting across the driveway and I'll stop and put my window down and we'll chat. I'll see him while driving down the street and honk and wave and Sam throws me a huge smile and waves back. I love seeing Sam because I like him and because it feels good to see a friend when I least expect it, and I got to thinking how kind of 'cozy' that is, how very 'Mayberry-esque', to use another television show analogy!

I got to thinking that it's our
CARS which prevent us from seeing more friends around town, even in a city as big as the one I'm usually driving around in; Santa Monica, California.
Everyone's in cars and, yes, occasionally you'll see someone you know and you'll both wave but that's really rare when everyone's got his eyes on the road.
A few years ago, I parked and put money in a meter and had a doctor's appointment which took a much longer time than I'd expected. I worried that my time on the meter was over and I'd get a $50 ticket. When I got outside, I saw my car had plenty of money in the meter and I was really surprised and ........ curious! The next Sunday, at church, a friend said "Hey, Z, lucky you didn't get a ticket the other day in front of the St John's Medical Building, huh?" Yes, this friend walks everywhere and did that for Meter Angel! That's hard to do when you drive by.

When we're not in our cars, we relate with people.......we help, we talk and feel a sense of community that's so rare anymore. And the internet is an enigma in that some of us spend waaaaay too much time on it and relate less with our family and friends on the phone, for example. Or we stay home more than we might because we're enjoying blogging, etc. We don't go to the stores as much because we buy on-line, right? How many people go to the library anymore just to look something up? But, in the place of our REAL FRIENDS in 'real life', we have a whole circle of amazing people on the blogs who share our values, which is evidenced as we read their blogs or their comments at ours, and I wonder about that........that's a good thing, but is it the best thing?
Should we shut the computer more often and get outside in order to avoid becoming THE JETSONS? Is it better to get out, walk to the store, shop instead of buy on-line, eat out instead of bringing in take-out? Is Mayberry better than the Jetsons? What do you think? Can we turn back the tide?
Quiz: What was the name of the Jetsons' dog? :-) I know, it's easy but I like little TV quizzes, humor me!
