Teach Your Children Well

Teach them what we learned and what kept this country going for so many years:
Teach them that;
-America is a great country and they are so lucky to live here

-They should be self reliant and the government is the last place to go for help
-Immigrants who come here eagerly and legally are what makes this country great
-This is a Judeo Christian nation founded on all that that comes with it and that needs to be protected
-Always read and watch all sides of every story in the media and make your own decision
-Teach them to recognize indoctrination from the right or the left and to speak up when they see it
-The color of one's skin doesn't matter.  Ever.
-Marriage is a beautiful union of a man and a woman
-Killing innocent babies, starting from conception, isn't acceptable.
-Those with physical or emotional handicaps need more love than they do.
-The 10 Commandments are not the 10 Suggestions
-God will get you through anything
-
There are many more things I think our children need to learn. What else do you think it's important to teach our children?

Thanks,
Z

American? What's that mean?

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY.........HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY!   Whatever you call it, I hope yours will be a happy one and that we'll all pause and remember what we're celebrating..........

I have a question for you all and hope you participate today. Some of you chimed in on this subject on my post below on Obama, but I thought you might like to all write more on the subject.  Please copy/paste your previous comment from THIS article into the comments page on this post; most of them were inspiring.   Others of you weren't here for that and I hope you feel moved to respond to the following question today.
 The question is:

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO 'BE AMERICAN'? Please list what you consider it to mean...thanks so much.
Have a fabulous day! THESE PEOPLE are, but, sadly, most of them don't know WHY. (you simply won't believe it, but some American young people think we're celebrating independence from Mexico....or AMERICA !  Seriously......watch the link, if you're up to it!)

By the way........is it true Republicans love America more?   CHECK THIS OUT...Harvard thinks so, and it's WARNING DEMOCRATS not to SUCCUMB!:-)

Have a fabulous day.......Love, Z
(thanks for the terrific top image, Impertinent xx  And thanks for the idea for the post and the video, Scottyxx)

Disasters in America.......wassup?

Isn't it awful and just plain WEIRD that we've had so many tornadoes (flattening countless towns and killing, including 89 more dead in Missouri Sunday), volcanoes, record-breaking floods (natural and man-made...leaving whole towns destroyed just to save New Orleans and Baton Rouge, and I mean "just"), and now stink bugs are on the verge of destroying thousands and thousands of acres of crops?
It was bad enough when California's liberal San Francisco bunch shut the water off in our whole Central Valley (approximately 1/3 the food capital of the whole country, by the way) for a useless tiny fish that they feared would grow extinct though it thrives in the Pacific Northwest....it's bad enough that our Southern coast was practically destroyed and may never fully recover its bounty due to the British Petroleum spill.........Sure, the last two situations I describe are man-made disasters, but how much more can America take?
How will we dig ourselves out of the economic ramifications of all of this , let along the emotional
Very lately, it's just so much in such a short time.......really, wassup?

FILMS.....got a suggestion?

Is there a film, or maybe two or three, which you think should be seen by American kids? For me, Boyz in the Hood, Stand and Deliver, and Pride and Prejudice come quickly to my mind. (I have a lot of others).
What would you recommend for High School viewing and WHY?
Thanks, I'm looking forward to hearing what you think.

"What makes us America?"

Will, who comments here from time to time, asked us, on my post of the song "I AM AMERICA", asks "What are we? What makes us 'America'? At the heart of what Obama and the lib-o-dems hate, just what are we?" He adds "As for me, I believe in freedom, not economic slavery to the state. I am America."
So...I thought it would be a good idea to throw this "What are we?" around a little.
You start. Sit in that chair and start typing!

"I AM AMERICA"....Commenter Will asks today in the COMMENTS SECTION "At the heart of what O and the lib-o-dems hate, just what are we?" Got an answer?

Our friend Priscilla sent me this video and I had to post it...Krista Branch is a fantastic belter (my voice coach would be drooling) and I don't know who wrote the song (I've looked but can't find anything yet) but it is fantastic. Maybe some of you have already seen it but, if you haven't, PLEASE treat yourself. Have Kleenex nearby. (thanks, Pris)

INFILTRATION, a book report by my friend RugCenter..

My buddy (RugCenter), who writes a wonderful weekly email to friends covering his opinions about the week in politics, culture, etc., included his thoughts on the things he learned from the book INFILTRATION, and I wanted to have you read it and see what you think:

I finished the book Infiltration and it has some disturbing issues. The author claims that we can credit the muslims with getting Bush elected in 2000. Here's the scoop. Muslims usually vote Democrat, but Gore had a Jewish VP, so they went with Bush. That way they could claim "family values and tolerance." Professor Sami al-Arian, a now convicted terrorist, led the "get out the vote for Bush" in the muslim community in FL. Before 9-11 (but after the many terrorist activities before 9-11) the muslims were miffed that people were suspicious of them. They had talked Bush into removing any profiling of mid-eastern people, and also got him to agree to banish using secret evidence to get terrorist suspects deported. Then came 9-11 and Bush backed down. Yet muslims voted overwhelmingly for "W" in FL before 9-11, so the point can be valid.

A few other names pop up. Grover Norquist was a staunch right-winger, He married a mid-eastern woman and became a strong supporter of muslims. Carl Rove also was in the mix, trying to maintain muslim support for the GOP. In his 2000 campaign, Bush was advised to include the word mosque whenever he mentioned churches and synagogues. The muslims bristle that people see America as being in the Judeo-Christian sphere, and demand that be changed to Judeo-Christian-muslim tradition! Bush readily complied and even had an imam deliver an invocation at the GOP convention that nominated him.

Two other big Islamophiles are John Conyers and David Bonier, both representing the state of Michigan in Congress, MI is home to the biggest contingent of muslims in America, so these guys were selling out the USA to stay elected. Is RC biased, or just telling the truth? As Harry "Give 'em hell" Truman noted, "I never gave anybody hell. I just told the truth about them and they thought it was hell!" Now we have at least 2 muslims in Congress representing MN and IN. These guys have a lot of clout to see our intelligence reports. And true muslims say they never can really be Americans until we honor Allah and accept Sharia law. Just whose side are they on?

People are scared to death to profile mid-eastern men because our own government will support muslim law suits on discrimination. So we have a random system that avoids looking at the true characteristics that point out likely terrorists! The "law" prevents focusing on muslims and Arabs. Isn't that basically confusing a "religion" with an ethnicity--assuming Arabs are muslims? It's a pretty good statistical bet that they are. Would airport guards assume that all blue-eyed blonds are Lutherans or Hispanics are Roman Catholic or Southern blacks are Baptists? The data don't lie. It's not a random correlation that Arab terrorists are muslims. How may non-muslims were on those attack planes?

Our First Amendment protects religious freedom. Yet Christians are barred from wearing a cross in many paces of employment. Christians are told not to mention Jesus in public. Nativity scenes are removed from the public square. Our churches are not allowed to endorse any candidates or criticize the government from the pulpit if they want to remain tax-exempt. Yet the imams who are paid with federal money to serve the muslims in prisons spew anti-American hatred in their sermons (often spoken in Arabic) and encourage the inmates to use violence to advance Islam. Isn't this clearly mixing state and church? Yet our tax money pays these imams to convert our own people and turn against us. OK, Congress has paid chaplains, but I don't think they actually "steal sheep" from other religions. As Justice Warren Burger once noted, "The prayers in Congress are not part of the law-making process, so are allowed." The muslims have used our own freedoms against us and the liberals egg them on.

How do you get muslims to testify in a court if they don't accept the Bible? Would they swear to tell the truth based on the Koran, a book that allows muslims to lie if it benefits them and Islam? Talk about a conflict of interest. Even Yogi Berra couldn't come up with such a convoluted sense of logic! End of article.

Z: I believe RugCenter makes a lot of good points and that the book has facts not many of us were aware of. ...but we should be. Think there's any antidote for this 'infiltration'?

The Pledge of Allegiance....WHY?

“The principal wanted to be very respectful about the pledge and be sensitive to the Supreme Court ruling that students are not forced to say the pledge. He wanted to be sensitive to the diverse group of students we have.”
HERE is the story about a Massachusetts school and the Pledge of Allegiance. Now, I know that liberals don't much like saying t
he pledge or wearing flag pins, but, I'm thinking that 'diverse groups of students' and their families have come to this country to escape their own countries or at least find a better opportunity here, some have lived OFF this country, and maybe they should want to pledge allegiance to their new homeland? But, of course, liberals have made it so our own students don't much respect this country enough to pledge anything to it, either, so why would we expect them to respect us when our own don't?
From the article: Charles Skidmore, principal of Arlington High School in Arlington, Mass., has offered to allow students to recite the pledge before school begins -- but in the school's foyer and not in the classrooms, as 17-year-old Harrington had hoped. (Harrington is the High School Senior who fought to get the Pledge BACK at his school)
Imagine that we'll have discussion at GeeeeZ about "should we be FORCED to say the Pledge of Allegiance" in America!? Who ever felt forced to when we were in school? Why are kids made to feel that way today?
How do you feel about removing the pledge so we don't offend anybody?

Dearborn, Michigan; coming to a theater near YOU?

Please view this short video:

Does it seem strange to you that passing out Christian material outside any event must be stopped? Do you think those cops were happy to have to do that? Who do you think's behind it? HOW could this happen?

ANCHOR BABY HOTELS? ........

From TRAVEL NEWS:

A New York hotel is staking its claim to have invented a new hospitality niche – birth tourism. The Marmara Manhattan offers “an exclusive package for new mothers that wish to give birth in the USA”, with the additional bonus of the newborn child gaining US citizenship.

The hotel, which is part of the Turkish hospitality chain, exploits the 14th amendment to the US constitution, which states that all children born on American soil “are citizens of the United States and of the state wherein they reside”.

The Marmara Manhattan, which is located in New York’s Upper East Side, told The Times: “What we offer is simply a one-bedroom suite accommodation for $5,100, plus taxes, for a month, with airport transfer, baby cradle and a gift set for the mother.” There are also medical fees of about £20,500.

However the price is a cheap and easy one to pay for US citizenship. Many will eventually use the newborn - known as an “anchor baby” - as a stepping stone for the immigration of extended family. The hotel has so far sold 15 of the packages.

Got any thoughts? I can't put mine in print.

Americans...what's the difference?

I thought I'd start the week with a bang: Why do some of us love this country so much we'd die for her? Why do some of us love this country so much that we can't stop blogging in our hopes that something we say or do or something we point out will make a difference?

Why do some of us look for the BEST IN AMERICA?

And why do some Americans look for the worst in her?

I've been pondering the type of teachers who teach the worst of our founding fathers to our children. I question PBS documentaries which go out of their way to slam US in (I can only guess?) attempts to be 'truthful.' I wonder at liberals so eager to appear open minded, but who slam and insult the faith and values of over half of America so eagerly and willingly? I could go on and on here..........

But, my question is : Why do some Americans adore this country and others can't wait to expose and demean any slightest negative thing about her?

What do you think?

Priscilla's Post ..... Every American should read this.....especially our young people

Here's another piece by our Priscilla....I thought this was a great way to start the week....here she goes:

This is a short story about making it in America
.
It’s about faith in our country, and the opportunities that arise if you’re willing to be patient, take advantage of those open doors, and if you know in your heart it’s possible.

All you have to do is allow yourselves to believe, work hard, and look ahead. For some it’s easier than others, but never doubt you can do it and enjoy the ride. We did it the hard way, not all young people start with nothing. We did. But, we had each other, and that was what mattered most.

Mr. Pris worked two jobs for sixteen years and, at the same time, served 12 years in the National Guard. During his service, he found he could attend Officer’s Candidate School, (OCS) so he did. An open door, and he walked through it and became an officer.

At the same time, he worked for an aerospace company. He had the opportunity to work in an intelligence group and he took it. Another open door, and he walked through that one. Ultimately, he worked his way up to a prestigious career in intelligence.

We bought our first home seven years after we married, with our two little children in tow. I didn't have my very own new car until we were married for 26 years, and happily did without a lot of goodies in order to be home raising our children. All the while, we always moved forward step by step.

We never wanted help. Once when we bought our first house, we borrowed money from a relative and we paid it back with the same interest she was earning in her bank. She told us “no you don’t have to pay me interest“, but we would not have it any other way. Since that time, we bought a second home and here we stayed. We saved our money and now we are comfortable and not even close to rich. But, we have enough.

Married at eighteen, we did it ourselves, and Mr. Pris did more than his share. Today, our President says we’re selfish. Well, I'll never say I'm sorry! We owe no one anything. Now, it seems we're stuck paying for people who can help themselves. If they refuse to do so, tough! They haven't earned or learned a damn thing.

But, you know what? They don’t know what they’re missing, and I’m here to tell them, everyday you are your own master, you win.

Obama is THE BIGGEST GIFT EVER.........

by Gary Hubbell:
Barack Obama is the best thing that has happened to America in the last 100 years.
Truly, he is the savior of America's future. He is the best thing ever.

Despite the fact that he has some of the lowest approval ratings among recent presidents, history will see Barack Obama as the source of America's resurrection. Barack Obama has plunged the country into levels of debt that we could not have previously imagined; his efforts to nationalize health care have been met with fierce resistance nationwide; TARP bailouts and stimulus spending have shown little positive effect on the national economy; unemployment is unacceptably high and looks to remain that way for most of a decade; legacy entitlement programs have ballooned to unsustainable levels, and there is a seething anger in the populace.

That's why Barack Obama is such a good thing for America.

Obama is the symbol of a creeping liberalism that has infected our society like a cancer for the last 100 years. Just as Hitler is the face of fascism, Obama will go down in history as the face of unchecked liberalism. The cancer metastasized to the point where it could no longer be ignored.

Average Americans who have quietly gone about their lives, earning a paycheck, contributing to their favorite charities, going to high school football games on Friday night, spending their weekends at the beach or on hunting trips — they've gotten off the fence. They've woken up. There is a level of political activism in this country that we haven't seen since the American Revolution, and Barack Obama has been the catalyst that has sparked a restructuring of the American political and social consciousness.
Think of the crap we've slowly learned to tolerate over the past 50 years as liberalism sought to re-structure the America that was the symbol of freedom and liberty to all the people of the world. Immigration laws were ignored on the basis of compassion. Welfare policies encouraged irresponsibility, the fracturing of families, and a cycle of generations of dependency. Debt was regarded as a tonic to lubricate the economy. Our children left school having been taught that they are exceptional and special, while great numbers of them cannot perform basic functions of mathematics and literacy. Legislators decided that people could not be trusted to defend their own homes, and stripped citizens of their rights to own firearms. Productive members of society have been penalized with a heavy burden of taxes in order to support legions of do-nothings who loll around, reveling in their addictions, obesity, indolence, ignorance and “disabilities.” Criminals have been arrested and re-arrested, coddled and set free to pillage the citizenry yet again. Lawyers routinely extort fortunes from doctors, contractors and business people with dubious torts.

We slowly learned to tolerate these outrages, shaking our heads in disbelief, and we went on with our lives.

But Barack Obama has ripped the lid off a seething cauldron of dissatisfaction and unrest.

In the time of Barack Obama, Black Panther members stand outside polling places in black commando uniforms, slapping truncheons into their palms. ACORN — a taxpayer-supported organization — is given a role in taking the census, even after its members were caught on tape offering advice to set up child prostitution rings. A former Communist is given a paid government position in the White House as an advisor to the president. Auto companies are taken over by the government, and the auto workers' union — whose contracts are completely insupportable in any economic sense — is rewarded with a stake in the company. Government bails out Wall Street investment bankers and insurance companies, who pay their executives outrageous bonuses as thanks for the public support. Terrorists are read their Miranda rights and given free lawyers. And, despite overwhelming public disapproval, Barack Obama has pushed forward with a health care plan that would re-structure one-sixth of the American economy.

I don't know about you, but the other day I was at the courthouse doing some business, and I stepped into the court clerk's office and changed my voter affiliation from “Independent” to “Republican.” I am under no illusion that the Republican party is perfect, but at least they're starting to awaken to the fact that we cannot sustain massive levels of debt; we cannot afford to hand out billions of dollars in corporate subsidies; we have to somehow trim our massive entitlement programs; we can no longer be the world's policeman and dole out billions in aid to countries whose citizens seek to harm us.

Literally millions of Americans have had enough. They're organizing, they're studying the Constitution and the Federalist Papers, they're reading history and case law, they're showing up at rallies and meetings, and a slew of conservative candidates are throwing their hats into the ring. Is there a revolution brewing? Yes, in the sense that there is a keen awareness that our priorities and sensibilities must be radically re-structured. Will it be a violent revolution? No. It will be done through the interpretation of the original document that has guided us for 220 years — the Constitution. Just as the pendulum swung to embrace political correctness and liberalism, there will be a backlash, a complete repudiation of a hundred years of nonsense. A hundred years from now, history will perceive the year 2010 as the time when America got back on the right track. And for that, we can thank Barack Hussein Obama.

Celebrating these people...? WHY?

The "gate crashers" at the White House Indian dinner have a TV deal....HERE's the scoop.
Octamom is famous for having had 8 children without a dad and losing a home and making a fool of herself.
Kate Gosselin is famous for..............I give up...WHY? (I honestly don't know....)

Is this what America admires now? These are people who get tons of attention for doing things that don't really seem to merit such renown. And there are more like them but I don't keep up on this type of person (I mean I really do NOT KNOW what made Gosselin a household name). What's this a symptom OF?

It scares the heck out of me, I'll tell you.

Mr. Z ; a German's American Patriotism...

You don't have to be American to be true blue American. Some of you probably don't know that Mr. Z wasn't an American citizen. He loved his native Germany, but he loved this country more than many Americans I know. There are reasons he didn't change citizenship....But, here's why I'm writing about him today:

First, a little history: Mr. Z had Amyloidosis, some of you might remember, and died very unexpectedly, last October, not long after diagnosis. I thank God every day that his symptoms hadn't become terribly difficult yet before he died. He was 6'3" and very strong but this disease made him tire easily and he'd started feeling unusually winded when he walked any distance......

When the walking was getting harder for him, our friend and yours, Heidianne from Big Girl Pants blog (on my sidebar), told us she'd be at the West Los Angeles tea party on Wilshire Boulevard at the Federal Building. Mr. Z said "We're going!" I asked him how he could because there'd be a lot of walking involved from the car to the site, but he insisted. And, we went.

We didn't have to walk as far as I'd feared but he did tire after about 40 feet... and stopped. He said "You go ahead, honey, I'll catch up with you." (that's the kind of guy he was) I told him I wasn't moving without him and we'd walk when he felt up to it, of course. Soon, we started to walk again and we were finally in the crowd, surrounded by people carrying flags and signs, people getting petition signatures (as Heidianne was), celebs talking to the crowd, other leaders of the movement talking to us.........lots of red, white and blue, lots of strangers talking to each other, patting each other on the shoulder in agreement, a great feeling of unity.

Mr. Z came to life. At one point, during someone's pep speech about this great nation and our founding fathers and how what's happening now has NOTHING to do with our founder's hopes and dreams, I thought I saw Mr. Z's eyes well up. He was very touched by this crowd. He walked around as if nothing was wrong with him, commenting on how many young people were there, reveling in how many car horns were honking, people inside the cars giving us all the thumbs up...........on WILSHIRE BLVD, the main drag in VERY liberal Los Angeles??? (that, I couldn't believe!) I remember being SO PROUD and thinking "Man, he's not even American and he's loving this event so much!" It was CONTAGIOUS, this great feeling of being with other Americans who shared our feelings of patriotism and anger at this government.

I wish all Americans were as American as my Mr. Z was. America might not have gained a vote from my dear husband, but she sure did gain someone who talked her up every chance he got, comparing her favorably to European and Asian countries he knew so much about, wondering how Americans could fall for the coming socialism Eastern Europeans leave their countries to come to America FOR. Most of you saw his articles here.......how America-loving does it get?

He saw the dwindling opportunities people used to come here for, he saw our selling ourselves to China, he saw entitlements becoming so popular, he saw the great American work ethic which had impressed him so much slipping away in his employees the last few years of his career...I used to chide him for comparing us to the Roman Empire when we discussed the horrid downturn in morality here in this country, but I'd finally stopped that because he was right again.

He's gone now, and you and I've lived through this last Sunday and the passing of the health care bill....I can see from comments here and other blog posts and their comments that most of us are outraged.........but I'm sensing a feeling of deep, deep sadness, too. Even worse, I'm sensing a defeatist attitude, a 'giving in' to what we could be facing because of the Obama administration. But, we're AMERICANS and, if Mr. Z could get excited and happy and encouraged about patriotism and healing this country when HE was so sick, so can WE.

Onward and upward, Americans..........we will show this country what REAL PATRIOTISM is about and we'll fight this bill and fight to get good Conservatives elected in November and in 2012. Stop the pipe dream of waiting for "real conservatives" through a third party...we can't AFFORD THE LUXURY....(yet)..........just vote out the Democrats. Dig deep and send money to the Nevada Senatorial race..........Dig deep and send to the Californians running against BARBARA BOXER.. Dig deep and help any senator or representative you feel should be elected.
Let's save America and try to educate our children to believe in the America Mr. Z loved...heck, he'd be happy if they just KNEW about the America he loved. TEACH them they live in the greatest country in the world.

Teach them for my Mr. Z. And don't any of you give up! You're still kickin'...you've still got what it takes!! DO IT...................for my Mr. Z. But, he'd say "No, not for ME, for America."
God Bless America

VIDEO RELIEF after a politically rotten Sunday.....I promise

UPDATE: “One of the traditional methods of imposing statism or socialism on a people has been by way of medicine. It’s very easy to disguise a medical program as a humanitarian project. Most people are a little reluctant to oppose anything that suggests medical care for people who possibly can’t afford it.” — Ronald Reagan
And see Big Bubba's blog for a terrific Reagan video...eat your heart out.

Time to GET BUSY and do what we can to save our great country. I hope you're inspired by the video. GOD BLESS AMERICA
