The Enterprise...and the Constitution?

I watched The Enterprise on a barge being taken to a museum in New York this morning.
An interesting fact I didn't know is that it was originally named The Constitution, but a vote from the Star Trek-watching public at the time decided to call it The Enterprise.

As I watched the thing, completely impotent now, being slowly dragged across the water to, virtually, cold storage, I couldn't help but think what a prophetic-type vision that would have been had it remained called THE CONSTITUTION.

Long may she live.  Somehow.

Scott Walker Wins Recall in spite of fraud? (see video at the bottom of my post....unreal)

First, let me say that NO politician should have a RECALL unless he's a pedophile or stole money or something.  It sets a terrible precedent.

Having said that SCOTT WALKER PULLED IT OFF!     I loved watching CNN's coverage last night, after the win.  ALL liberals on the six person panel, of course (but no bias :-).   The spin now is that Walker had so much money he had to win.  (funny they didn't say that last night?)

Yes, Walker had money.  In politics, money pays for GETTING SOMEONE KNOWN....getting a name out there to the public.  Anybody here think someone in Wisconsin hadn't already heard the GOVERNOR'S NAME?  Right.  So, it wasn't money that did this. Also, Walker had the media mostly against him.   He fought that on his own.  And won.

Debbie Wasser"person" Schultz is eating her words tonight because, recently, she said "The Wisconsin recall will be a DRY RUN FOR THE ELECTION"    We think so, too, Debbie.  We hope so.

Here's a good one:  John King, liberal reporter for CNN, said that he was very surprised because the exit polls didn't show this wide a margin.   He thinks maybe "...Republicans just didn't want to talk on their way out."   Really, Mr. King?   Or, perhaps Democrats didn't want to say they voted Republican?   Hmmmm

Whatever......some good news for Republicans, once in a while, feels good.  No matter HOW the leftist media spins it.

By the way, a bunch of news articles are saying that union thugs brought in four buses from Michigan to vote for Barrett in Wisconsin.  Check THIS out...it's a Republican talking to a talk radio host, whispering, because he snuck on and is talking about it, kind of giggling at what he pulled off.    If you listen all the way through, you will definitely see this guy's for real.  The talk show host tried to trip him up to see if he was making it up. No way.  Get ready for lots of fraud, folks.
(Libs, don't even TRY to tell me this guy's lying and he's a hell of an actor:-)

Biden spends WHAT?

Biden Spends $1 Million Annually for Weekend Trips

Monday, 04 Jun 2012 05:04 PM
By Ronald Kessler
More ways to share...
Ronald Kessler reporting from Washington, D.C. — Last June, President Obama appointed Vice President Joe Biden to root out wasteful government spending. But behind the scenes, it’s a different matter.

Every Friday, Biden takes a helicopter designated as Marine Two from the vice president’s residence to Joint Base Andrews in Maryland and then hops on Air Force Two to fly back to his home in Delaware. At the end of the weekend, he returns on Air Force Two, usually a Boeing C-32.

During warm weather, Biden regularly returns to Andrews on the airplane on Saturdays to play golf at the Air Force base with President Obama. After the golf game, he flies back to Delaware and returns to Washington on the plane on Sunday evening — all at taxpayer expense.

The cost of flying Air Force Two is $22,000 an hour, so each half-hour trip to or from Delaware costs about $10,000. Each golf game costs taxpayers $20,000. At that rate, the annual cost to taxpayers of Biden’s weekend trips is well over $1 million.

In addition, the Secret Service rents more than 20 condominiums in the Wilmington, Del. area for agents who must accompany Biden when he returns to his home state.

Biden’s press office had no immediate comment.

“Biden leaves every Friday from Joint Base Andrews, so he gets lifts from the observatory via Marine Two to Andrews Air Force Base, takes off via Air Force Two, lands in Delaware, and stays the weekend and then comes back on Sunday nights,” says a Secret Service agent familiar with the trips.

Biden has been a long-time proponent of train travel.

“Every three or four weeks when it’s warm, he gets up there on Saturday and then will fly back on Air Force Two,” the agent says. “While Air Force Two is sitting on the tarmac at Andrews, he goes and plays golf with the president at Andrews Air Force Base, gets back on the plane, and flies back to Delaware. Let me tell you something, that is egregious.”

Besides that, “The Secret Service rents condos in Wilmington because his schedule is so fluid and never concrete enough to properly prepare for his visits to Delaware,” the agent says. “So they keep a fully staffed Secret Service advance team in Delaware in condominiums that we lease so that when he does these things back and forth to D.C., they’re up there ready for him to arrive.”

The Boeing C-32 that usually flies as Air Force Two is a specially configured Boeing 757-200 commercial jet which typically requires a crew of 18.

As a U.S. senator, Biden was proud of the fact that he commuted daily by train from his home in Delaware to Washington during the week. Amtrak named the newly renovated Wilmington station the Joseph R. Biden, Jr. Railroad Station. But after taking office as vice president, a Secret Service agent says Biden began the pattern of commuting on Air Force Two on weekends, costing taxpayers close to $4 million so far

"Where has our common sense gone?"

My blog slows down when I post a video.  I know we're all busy and I do the same thing sometimes at other blogs..'I don't have time to watch this one.'    I IMPLORE you to watch this video...it's short and you need to watch and send it around, PLEASE.

I'll beat my lefties to the punch:
1. But America is better for welcoming illegals.
2. What kind of Christians are you people?
3. They work so cheaply it's all that's keeping our economy going.
4. Why do you hate Hispanics?

and more.....wait for it.  Ridiculous, but true.

Please watch it and send it along............We need people paying attention to what's ruining our country and people who'll send this to friends so they can WAKE UP.  Watch, if you only have a few minutes, skip the comment if it helps you, time wise.  But, of course, then you'll never be welcome here again. (JUST KIDDING :-)!!

Here's the problem, what WILL it take for Americans to start valuing ourselves again and obeying the laws which keep out illegals and welcome, with open arms, the legal immigrants who love and support US?  What's WRONG with that?   Can we ever get back to it? How do we stem the tide that's ruining our shores?

Fundraising for Obama....Anna Wintour

THIS ARTICLE  that featured the following video is worth reading.... here's a little of it:

"As Anna Wintour talks about a fundraiser for the Obama campaignshe is hosting with actress Sarah Jessica Parker and first lady Michelle Obama, unemployment numbers for different groups  before and after the Obama presidency flash on the screen, including a rise in joblessness among women, Hispanics, African-Americans  and young people.
The web video ends with the line "Obama is focused on keeping his job, but what about yours?"
"There couldn't be a better demonstration of this president's misplaced priorities than a glitzy fundraising video release on the same day that marked more unemployed Americans," said RNC Chairman Reince Priebus in a statement. "It's more than obvious that this president just doesn't get it. Millions are out of work, struggling to make ends meet and all this president cares about is raising money with the rich and famous to protect his own job."

What Ms Wintour asks everyone to do is 'enter' the Obama sweepstakes.  "The Wintour ad  effort seems an easy target for Republicans, but a fundraising effort is all it is. The web video is targeted to supporters, especially an audience of young, fashion-conscious women who the Obama campaign hopes will enter the online contest on the chance of spending an evening with Wintour, Parker  and the Obamas on June 14.  It's similar to a raffle  held last month that awarded two free tickets to a George Clooney fundraising dinner at the actor's Los Angeles home."

Personally, I believe this is far less about winning an evening with the Obamas and much more about GETTING EMAIL ADDRESSES FOR THEIR CAMPAIGN.    The Obama folks have done a lot of things lately asking "send us your email address.."   Make sense to you?

"We're saving the TWO BEST SEATS IN THE HOUSE FOR YOU"...just give us your email address.
I'd have thought that whoever did win those two free tickets to the Clooney shindig would have written about it.   Odd we didn't hear anything about it.

MITT ROMNEY BLUNDER CAUGHT ON CAMERA

The above headline was Yahoo's Friday morning, the most predominant one all morning.  I thought "Wow, what did he DO?"  (who wouldn't think that?)  The trouble is, the 'blunder' is a spoof and that's not clear until you click on and read the introduction to the video.   Then you wonder "Why did the headline get written to sound like it's real?"  Then you remember this is liberal media and that this is probably only the beginning as we lead up to the election.   In the video, they've manipulated Romney's body/head through editing.....creating a Romney with another body but his face...it's only slightly stilted from editing and people could definitely believe it's real.

Is this fair game?  Could it be done to Obama or, because he's president, he's off limits?   I don't like it done to Romney, or Obama, or any other candidate....  How far will photo shopping and editing like this go?  It's almost unsafe because we literally don't know WHAT to believe..........and it could be something truly important, not just another leftwing media attempt at dissing a Republican.

There ought to be a LAW :-)

Sunday Faith Blog

BY A 15 yr. OLD SCHOOL KID
who got an A+ for this entry

Since the Pledge of Allegiance
And
The Lord's Prayer are not allowed in most
Public schools anymore because the word 'God' is mentioned.....
A kid in Arizona
 wrote the attached NEW School prayer:

"New Pledge of Allegiance"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Now I sit me down in school
Where praying is against the rule
For this great nation under God
Finds mention of Him very odd.
If scripture now the class recites,
It violates the Bill of Rights.
And anytime my head I bow
Becomes a Federal matter now.
Our hair can be purple, orange or green,
That's no offense; it's a freedom scene..
The law is specific, the law is precise.
Prayers spoken aloud are a serious vice.
For praying in a public hall
Might offend someone with no faith at all..
In silence alone we must meditate,
God's name is prohibited by the state.
We're allowed to cuss and dress like freaks,
And pierce our noses, tongues and cheeks...
They've outlawed guns, but FIRST the Bible.
To quote the Good Book makes me liable.
We can elect a pregnant Senior Queen,
And the 'unwed daddy,' our Senior King.
It's 'inappropriate' to teach right from wrong,
We're taught that such 'judgments' do not belong..
We can get our condoms and birth controls,
Study witchcraft, vampires and totem poles
..
But the Ten Commandments are not allowed,
No word of God must reach this crowd.
It's scary here I must confess,
When chaos reigns the school's a mess.
So, Lord, this silent plea I make:
Should I be shot; My soul please take!
Amen
"He holds victory in store for the upright, he is a shield to
those whose walk is blameless."  Proverbs 2:7
And a little humor:
Have a fabulous Sunday!
Ups and Downs
A fifteen-year-old Amish boy and his father were in a mall. They were amazed by almost everything they saw, but especially by two shiny, silver walls that could move apart and then slide back together again.
 The boy asked, 'What is this Father?'
The father (never having seen an elevator) responded, 'Son, I have never seen anything like this in my life, I don't know what it is.'
While the boy and his father were watching with amazement, a fat and quite unattractive old lady walked up to the moving walls and pressed a button. The walls opened, and the lady moved herself through the moving walls and into a small room. The walls closed and the boy and his father watched the small numbers above the walls light up sequentially.
They continued to watch until it reached the last number and then the numbers began to light in the reverse order.
 Finally the walls opened up again and a gorgeous 24-year-old blond stepped out.
 The father, not taking his eyes off the young woman, said quietly to his son.....
 'Go get your Mother'
I laugh EVERY TIME I think of this joke and hope you enjoy it, too!
Bonnie and Clyde...a break from politics
I know.  This is kind of weird, but the truth is that I've always been interested in people like Bonnie and Clyde.... At the age of about 12, full of having watched terrific gangster movies on The Million Dollar Movie on TV (Remember that?), I told my father I wanted to be a gun moll.   Boy, did he give ME a look!
Obviously, I couldn't murder anybody and I don't believe in stealing, but, somehow, the criminals of the Thirties have always intrigued me.  I have always loved those old James Cagney prison films, etc...Edward G. Robinson, etc.
I watched Bonnie and Clyde the other day and Googled them and found the fascinating video above. So, I'm pulling you into my creepy curiosity and thought you might like to see it, too!  She was really quite pretty, look at the image to the right.  What compelled her? WHY?  How does one kill innocent people so easily?  What drew this couple together?   She wrote poetry about suicide, they knew they'd die together, violently.  And they kept it up........
It's hard to imagine what thoughts she had......and I'll admit, it does fascinate me.
"It's a WHAT?"
Did you hear about this? "The House voted (yesterday) to reject a measure that would have banned sex-selection abortions in the United States, pitting Republicans and Democrats in a showdown over a woman's right to choose, which opponents contended was "intended to chip away at woman's right to obtain safe, legal medical care."  (Z: how they can explain that is beyond me, but they will try anything)
Here's a stunning interpretation by ABC's John Parkinson:
The bill was perceived by Democrats as political maneuver to coax liberal lawmakers into supporting the bill or face the prospect of an onslaught of campaign advertisements this fall highlighting a lawmaker's vote to support sex-selection abortions.
Still, only 20 Democrats took the bait and broke from their party to vote with the majority of Republicans. Seven GOPers opposed the measure.
Really?  But, perhaps, those Democrats just voted their conscience?   Can that happen anymore?
And then Mr. Parkinson opines like this!!:
After the plight of blind Chinese activist Chen Guangcheng captured international headlines this month, Republicans had hoped to capitalize on the momentum of that awareness to ensure that sex-selection abortions are not legal in the United States.
SO...was your first thought when you heard about the Chinese dissident "China!.....sex-selection abortions!?" It wasn't mine because I figured the dissident was just fed up with everything about China...I hadn't learned WHY he was considered dissident.  So, I guess this does make sense.
WOW....well, Mr. Parkinson's take is interesting.
Do you think there should be a ban on sex-selection abortions?   Most of you will tell me you'd like a ban on abortions, and the public is starting to feel that way, too, according to recent polls...........what do you think?
How much of your vote would depend on a candidate's view on abortion?
