Breitbart said it so well...

I'm more than sorry for the fairly few but really nasty "F*** him" send offs Andrew got this week....really sorry.   They are, at best, despicable.  No human being should rejoice over anyone's death.  One classless person I've read says he thinks Andrew killed himself with an overdose of cocaine.  Unbelievable.  I guess the Left just attributes all sorts of their traits to those they hate; if they'd only just see a shrink about it instead.  As some of the more 'thinking' liberals who knew him and disagreed with him said, one might not like his politics, but one had to like him, to  admire his charisma, compassion, his drive and his belief in the Conservative cause.  I believe that the way Conservatives correctly criticized, for example, the way the Lefties treated the death of Tony Snow, caused the Lefties, mostly, to hold their tongues about Andrew, to even try to show some class.   Or is it that he just plain was right in what he said below and some DO understand that even through their stubborn ideology?   I like to think that's the case because, whether you loved or hated Breitbart, what he said below was truth:

If the Democratic Party were run by Joe Lieberman and Evan Bayh, if it had the slightest vestige of JFK and Henry "Scoop" Jackson, I wouldn't be on the political map.
If the American media were run by biased but not evil Tim Russerts and David Brinkleys, I wouldn't have joined the fight. . . .
If America's pop-cultural ambassadors like Alec Baldwin and Janeane Garofalo didn't come back from their foreign trips to tell us how much they hate us, if my pay cable didn't highlight a comedy show every week that called me a racist for embracing constitutional principles and limited government, I wouldn't be at Tea Parties screaming my love for this great, charitable, and benevolent country.

Z: He's not finished yet, of course, his partners and many others will carry his banner........maybe, even, fairly soon, with some pretty important revelations.   He was a liberal when he was younger, couldn't take the bias he saw in the media against the Right, started studying politics, loved this country and its founding fathers, and decided he must be a Conservative...and, brother, did he run with it then!
This country needed Breitbart, but only half of us are smart enough to grasp why.

Calming down in Afghanistan? :-)

Obama apparently thinks his apology to Karzai 'calmed things down'...HOW many died after the apology, before they calmed down?   Anybody want to link to anything to show it calmed anything down?   Of course, you can't prove that things were going to get worse, can you.

"I'm having SEX and YOU have to PAY for it................."........?

THIS is quite a situation, isn't it?  Georgetown law student Sandra Fluke says that it’s just too darned expensive to have sex in law school without getting their contraception paid for by insurance.  You'll listen to the video in the linked article and your jaw will drop, I promise you.

"We refuse to pick between a quality education and our health."  She says she and her girlfriends would have picked a different university had they known they couldn't have sex on the university.  The smoke screen she uses (the reason the Dems called her to testify) is pretty clever but really rather lame and transparent.   She talks about a friend who could go into early menopause without the pill and she's devastated "...not to be able to give her mother desperately wanted grandchildren."   I'm hoping her mother pays for the birth control that will keep her fertile enough to have children....when she's married.

Why don't their boyfriends pay for the contraception?  It could be "pay as you go?"  :-)   Wait, that means she's a .............  never mind.

She says girls with health problems can't get the pill because it's the pill, but we all know that a prescription and explanation by the doctor as to the fact that she needs the pill for health reasons would work.  If it won't, that needs to be looked into.
WAIT till you read THIS part of the testimony:

“When I look around my campus, I see the faces of the women affected by this lack of contraceptive coverage," Fluke testified. "One told us about how embarrassed and just powerless she felt when she was standing at the pharmacy counter and learned for the first time that contraception was not covered on her insurance and she had to turn and walk away because she couldn’t afford that prescription. Women like her have no choice but to go without contraception."    "embarrassed and just powerless?"   WHAT?  Were there people pointing at her and laughing?  Maybe she should feel more embarrassed getting the pill for free?  And why the heck can't they use cheap condoms?

Going to senate hearings whining about how you think insurance should cover your unmarried sex while at university and feeling no shame........."You've come a long way, baby."   The wrong way.

Gitmo Detainees get another goody...$$$

GITMO DETAINEES ARE GETTING A NEW $750,000 SOCCER FIELD

"At a time of record deficits, a new soccer field for detainees at Camp 6 in Guantanamo Bay is just getting the finishing touches -- at a cost of $750,000 to taxpayers.

The project was the highlight of a tour Tuesday of the detention camp for reporters at the facility covering the arraignment in a military court of Majid Khan, a former Baltimore resident and the the only legal U.S. resident on trial at Guantanamo.

The project began in April 2011 and is due to finish this spring. The detainees will now have three recreation facilities at Camp 6, which is home to "highly compliant" detainees who live in a communal setting.

In addition to an indoor recreation field and the existing outdoor recreation field, the new soccer field -- selected because it is such a popular sport with detainees -- is half the size of an American football field.    

The new field has been specially constructed so that the detainees "have maximum access" -- about 20 hours a day. Special passageways allow the detainees to pass into the new recreation yard without being escorted by the military."

Well, okay..so our government's not QUITE as worried about our deficit, I guess, right?   I mean, who'd spend 3/4 of a million on a new and improved soccer field for enemies in detention, ESPECIALLY when.....

"Even some of President Obama's most ardent supporters suggest the administration seems eager to close the camps and reduce the detainee population, and plea agreements with minimal jail time are a sweetheart deal for all involved."

Yup....not only do we want to make sure they don't need to be escorted by (those pesky, tough American military!), we want to build something expensive and wonderful so detainees can have access to have fun even though the place might not be open for long.   Boy, if THAT isn't typical for our government these days, I don't know what is.

And, please, leftists....NO, Z is not saying these men shouldn't get any kind of physical activity while incarcerated, and nobody here is suggesting that we need to be unnecessarily rough on those who've (allegedly)  tried to kill Americans, and this isn't a discussion about keeping Gitmo open or not.   FOCUS (if you're still reading this far before you comment), this is about the fact that they HAVE places to exercise already and we don't have the money to build this for them.  Or anybody else, for that matter.

What is the POINT in building this, folks?

Harvey Weinstein

I am not inclined to do an Oscar's review of last night's show.  I barely watched it, as a matter of fact.
But, this morning, I heard Harvey Weinstein talking about the Best Actor Award and how George Clooney probably only missed "by 2 votes because he's such an incredible philanthropist....he was there for 9/11, he's  helped in Haiti...."   

Weinstein certainly has his finger on the pulse of Hollywood's Academy voters and knows many of them, obviously....is that what he hears?  Is it an award given for talent or for being charitable?

Don't you think that's a little weird?  Or does it fit the new America which seems less interested in performance and more in being a good guy?

another Sunday Faith Blog

On a slightly more serious note than the Sunday Faith Blog below, I feel compelled to share this with you.

I chose not to go to church today and couldn't think why I had made that choice. I enjoy it and try not to miss a Sunday.  I didn't go to a class I'd recently started attending before the service and then I stayed home through the service, too.  I had a really painful crick in my neck the last couple of days and I figured maybe that's why I felt like staying home, but it felt so much better when I awoke this morning that I knew it really wasn't that.  Then WHY? 

The phone a couple of hours later.  It was a woman with whom I've become reacquainted in the last few weeks.  She's not well at all and has had horrible troubles since I last had her in my bible study group (non church-related) about 7 years ago.  I hadn't seen her these last few years and was surprised to see her back at the study and I was asked if I'd have her in my group.  There had been a problem with her those years ago and I said I thought she'd be better in someone else's group, but then I suddenly felt she's just who I needed in my group.   She seemed delighted that I'd be her leader but seemed uncomfortable in the class.  She asked me not to call on her for answers as we went through the homework unless she raised her hand and she asked that she not be included on our group Prayer Chain because "I'm intensely private".   Then, after a couple of weeks, she was chiming in with responses and agreed that I could put her health on the prayer chain.  Sadly, her health has taken another bad turn and she has decided she can't come anymore.  But, I emailed her support and she's really opened up via email to me.
This morning, when she called, she said "I needed someone like you to talk with and I'm so glad you're home..."
Then I knew why I hadn't gone to church.  I'm glad I was home, too.   Church is letting out as I type.  I wouldn't have been here.

God is amazing.   Actually, to tell the truth?... in my frame of mind the last few days, I needed to be here more than she needed me to be here.
