Yahoo does it again........"YOU LIE, YAHOO!"

WOW! Yahoo outdid themselves in dishonesty! I printed the whole article here because it's SO IMPORTANT you all see this... Here goes: (don't stop reading until you get to the Yahoo Homepage title for this story down below.......amazing)

In his speech to Congress Wednesday, President Barack Obama said the changes to health care that he's proposing "would not apply to those who are here illegally." That prompted Wilson, a South Carolina Republican, to shout "You lie!" from his seat in the House chamber. Wilson later apologized for the outburst, but he didn't back down from his claim.

THE FACTS: The House version of the health care bill explicitly prohibits spending any federal money to help illegal immigrants get health care coverage. Illegal immigrants could buy private health insurance, as many do now, and they could also buy into a new government-run insurance plan if Congress creates one. But unlike legal residents, they wouldn't get federal subsidies to help them. The bill's exact language: "Nothing in this subtitle shall allow federal payments for affordability credits on behalf of individuals who are not lawfully in the United States." Health care legislation in the Senate is also being crafted to exclude illegal immigrants from coverage.

However, Wilson is far from alone in thinking that the prohibition in the House bill doesn't go far enough. For him and other Republicans, the problem is not what's in the bill, it's what the bill leaves out. (Z: The truth starts here....) There's no provision for how the prohibition would be enforced, or any requirement for people to prove they are citizens or legal residents before getting health care benefits. In fact, Democrats on the Energy and Commerce and Ways and Means committees defeated Republican-offered amendments that would have required people to verify their legal status before getting care, with some Democrats saying such requirements would be unnecessarily burdensome for people legally entitled to coverage. Wilson cited the defeat of those two amendments Thursday when he discussed his outburst with reporters.

"I will tell you this, that it was spontaneous. It was when he stated, as he did, about not covering illegal aliens, when I knew we'd had those two amendments," Wilson said.

WELL, that's NOT SO BAD, IS IT! OH, I forgot to show you the YAHOO HOME PAGE TITLE FOR THE ABOVE ARTICLE, DIDN'T I!! It's "HEALTH COVERAGE FOR ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS? WILSON IS WRONG" OH, REALLY? REALLY? But, your ARTICLE says it a bit differently.........DOESN'T IT?

Kind of like voting. If you don't verify eligibility, it's de facto open to anyone.

The Democratic proposals aren't covering illegal aliens... they're just not explicitely "not covering" them (as they are doing in the case of abortion), a symantic distinction, without a difference.

Is such a distinction a "lie" or "deliberate deception"? It is if you first accuse opposing parties of making the opposite point of "lying," as the President DID in the words leading up to Wilson's countercharge.

People excoriated Mr Wilson for the interruption. I'll grant them that, but that's the end. Otherwise Mr Wilson was perfectly CORRECT!

ALSO: PLEASE go to his website and contribute a few dollars; MoveOn.org has placed Mr Wilson in their sights and are throwing thousands and thousands of dollars at his Demorat opponent.

Spread the word! Check his website and donate to Mr Wilson!

Deb, that's right...I've seen such weird things at my polling precinct the last 2 times we voted.

FJ,that's exactly the point: Here's president assuring illegals won't be covered but his party votes against safeguards. Typical.

bz, thanks...a worthy cause.

See what I mean about the media? Wilson spoke out and it can be construed as rude and MAN, the leftwingers circled the wagons; using it exactly as we predicted they would

So you get both barrels.

1. You conflate these issues and we still get no comprehensive immigration policy. That's still as open as ever.

2. While we desperately need to control health insurance costs (and probably can't without a public option) we are making absolutely no progress on that critical issue.

Look at the progress we've made. This country is toast.

Nancy Pelosi is a walking talking joke. First she says she won't censure Wilson for his outburst, now she says she will...

The DNC is killing their own Health Care Bill message by a death of a thousand cuts. I love it...

ps- ducky... so when was the last time the Democrats attempted immigration reform? If you ask me, it's the President who is doing all the "conflating".

My, my, my. Guess who got caught in his lie...

FJ..Thanks...it's a beautiful thing, isn't it? Except the WH knows the BIG FLAP at that RUDE WILSON has been heard by Americans who LOVE the SOUND BYTES and who won't learn from the mainstream media the TRUTH even Huff Post couldn't ignore.

Ducky...can you EVER understand we all feel something must be done with health care!?
Can you EVER learn that you don't put in charge a gov't which has broken soc. sec, medicare and can't run a post office?
Of course the illegal situation has been badly ignored...now it's MY FAULT?! :-)

STOP the silly remarks...you're not unintelligent.

I wonder if the MSM will bury their retraction on pg 42 of the Garden section... AFTER they make Wilson apologize for the outburst on the floor of the House.

Oh me, Z. I just got through bringing my blood pressure back down after reading our local paper's garbage on ACORN being dissed (rightly so) by the Census Bureau & now this. Man, the MSM is just pure junk.

DUCKY HITS A HOMERUN WITH THIS ASTUTE OBSERVATION:

"This country is toast."

Right idea, wrong reason.

the problem is not what's in the bill, it's what the bill leaves out.

So much in Obama's speech is deceitful, dishonest, and partisanly divisive.

However, in 2003, Wilson voted to provide federal funds for illegal immigrants’ healthcare. The vote came on the Medicare Prescription Drug, Improvement and Modernization Act of 2003, which contained Sec. 1011 authorizing $250,000 annually between 2003 and 2008 for government reimbursements to hospitals who provide treatment for uninsured illegal immigrants. The program has been extended through 2009 and there is currently a bipartisan bill in Congress to make it permanent.

More where that came from.
