Wait, we're at war but we're pulling our soldiers out, right?

Yeah, we are at war and we will pull out. Is that so really hard to understand?

I certainly hope so.

HAAAAAAA!!
Ah, so THAT's what people do; be at WAR (Obama's stayed long after he ranted and raved that Bush was wrong and we need to leave RIGHT NOW) and then turn tail :-)

No, Hagel's remark was as ridiculous as all of us feared; the left has made its mark on him.

He could have said it's a difficult situation that won't change...but one does not say WE ARE AT WAR when one is pulling out soldiers.
Doesn't take much to understand that, does it? I certainly hope not.

Marine4...I knew you'd understand! amazing, isn't it.

"we are at war but we are pulling our soldiers out"

I thought that only George Orwell could come up with something like that!

"and we will pull out"

I know someone else who should have too.

I'm sorry, but we are NOT at war. We are at FARCE - a travesty of war - a tragic waste of men and resources - a blundering misadventure conceived and executed by idiots who were motivated by men of bad conscience.

This Middle Eastern Adventure is like a recipe gone terribly wrong. Once you've added garlic salt instead of sugar to the cake batter, there is no hope whatsoever that the cake will turn out to be anything but a revolting disaster.

I'm glad most of you agree; this was a really weird way to express himself. What a fiasco this thinking is.

@FreeThink...

Name me a war that's NOT a travesty. Or one where men and resources are not expended and wasted. Men die...lives are lost...why we even put a boot on the ground when we have far better resources to deal with these 7th century scum.

The real tragedy is not killing everyone of the bastards and be done with it rather than capitulating to PC and the idea that Islime isn't a world class danger and we can be "nice".

Imp, would you have used tactical or theater nukes?

The Taliban was sending a message.

Nevertheless, Karzai insists upon the following: "Afghan Taliban, U.S. revive reconciliation talks in Qatar."

Both the U.S. and an Taliban spokesman are denying the truth of Karzai's statement.

More from the Reuters article:

..."Senior leaders of the Taliban and the Americans are engaged in talks in the Gulf state on a daily basis," Karzai told a gathering to mark International Women's Day.

The U.S. government has said it remained committed to political reconciliation involving talks with the Taliban but progress would require agreement between the Afghan government and the insurgents.

"This is simply incorrect," said a U.S. official, who declined to be identified, when asked about Karzai's remarks. "We continue to support an Afghan-led process of political reconciliation."

The Taliban spokesman in Afghanistan, Zabihullah Mujahid, also denied that negotiations with the United States had resumed and said no progress had been made since they were suspended.

"The Taliban strongly rejects Karzai's comments," he said.

The Kabul government has been pushing hard to get the Taliban to the negotiating table before most U.S.-led NATO combat troops withdraw by the end of 2014....

Nuke it from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.

Why not both, Duck?

Why have them at all if they can't be used in war? Let's step it up a notch or two...who's going to stop us? The UN?

my point wasn't whether we stay or leave, should or shouldn't, but that one never says "we at WAR" when the plans are to leave soon.

Stupid as HELL, that was on Hagel's part. Ridiculous, dishonorable, uninformed, reactive...

I can't quite say enough..........
