Seen this before? It's worth another read..............

In 1887 Alexander Tyler, a Scottish history professor at the
University of Edinburgh, had this to say about the fall of the
Athenian Republic some 2,000 years prior: "A democracy is always
temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent
form of government. A democracy will continue to exist up until
the time that voters discover that they can vote themselves generous
gifts from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority
always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from
the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally
collapse over loose fiscal policy, (which is) always followed by a
dictatorship."

"The average age of the world's greatest civilizations from the

beginning of history, has been about 200 years. During those 200
years, these nations always progressed through the following sequence:

From bondage to spiritual faith;
From spiritual faith to great courage;
From courage to liberty;
From liberty to abundance;
From abundance to complacency;
From complacency to apathy;
From apathy to dependence;
From dependence back into bondage."

The Obituary follows:

Born 1776, Died 2012
It doesn't hurt to read this several times.
Professor Joseph Olson of Hamline University School of Law in

St. Paul, Minnesota, points out some interesting facts concerning
the last Presidential election:

Number of States won by: Obama: 19 Romney: 29
Square miles of land won by: Obama: 580,000 Romney: 2,427,000
Population of counties won by: Obama: 127 million Romney: 143 million
Murder rate per 100,000 residents in counties won by: Obama: 13.2 Romney: 2.1

Professor Olson adds: "In aggregate, the map of the territory

Romney won was mostly the land owned by the taxpaying citizens
of the country.

Obama territory mostly encompassed those citizens living in low

income tenements and living off various forms of government
welfare..."

Olson believes the United States is now somewhere between the
"complacency and apathy" phase of Professor Tyler's definition of

democracy, with some forty percent of the nation's population
already having reached the "governmental dependency" phase.

Z:  Here's a part I hadn't seen attached to the above before:

If Congress grants amnesty and citizenship to twenty million

criminal invaders called illegals - and they vote - then we can say
goodbye to the USA in fewer than five years.

If you are in favor of this, then by all means, delete this message.

If you are not, then pass this along to help everyone realize just how

much is at stake, knowing that apathy is the greatest danger to our
freedom..

(Thanks, Imp, for sending that to me.....this has gone around for a few years but how anyone can argue with it is beyond me;  I wish we could because it's too true to feel optimistic about ANYTHING anymore.)

Wait, what? I thought the founding father of gay marriage in America lost the 2012 election because he wanted illegal immigrants to deport themselves?

I'm failing to see why Romney supporters and those who took a huge wet dump on their "conservative values" before flushing them away to join the aforementioned Romney supporters are so upset that Obama won re-election. Can any of them name an issue in which Obama has not taken a Romney idea and plagiarized it to make it his own?

Obamacare? A watered down version of Massachusetts Romneycare. Shutting down coal plants and steel mills? Romney was doing that when Obama was still a foreign exchange student. Foreign policy? Romney "largely agrees" with Obama's foreign policy, save for the fact that he wanted to give foreign dictators even more money than Obama has.

Forgive me, but the silver lining of Obama's re-election is precisely that Mitt Romney is no where near the White House.

So Obama’s bill was defeated, and Obama throws hissy-fit like the CHILD PRESIDENT he is.
The Lefties, Progressives, Loonies, Psychos, Obama worshipers, the Liberal Ass Kissers are WRONG!
President Obama was NOT correct when he said the N.R.A. willfully lied when they suggested to weak minded people that there would be a gun registry. It was OBAMA who WILLFULLY LIED!
Background checks will not keep guns out of the hands of out of the hands of murderers, rapists, the mentally ill, and terrorists. These people do not purchase guns from legal establishments, they will NOT under go Background checks no matter what. . The elected elite should have passed the bill because that is what the people wanted not because it will do any good. Adam Lanza killed his mother to get her guns and then killed others, would a Background Check have prevented that? .
This is a big defeat for that lying Obama, and lets hope that this is only a start that will lead to a string of defeating his asinine bills and his socialist agenda.
And besides. ONLY 4% of Americans think Gun Control is the MOST IMPORTANT issue... and the rest think the Economy, or Immigration, or some other issue is the MOST important.
Nice try Obama, but no Cuban cigar! Maybe now that gun control has failed, he will finally concentrate on jobs? But I doubt it very much...the administration will probably go back to gay stuff , and give the Mexican illegal’s more attention. Also It's been at least a few weeks at least since the White House has had a Hip Hop party.
Jobs, the economy, and the national debt...have become small potatoes to this administration! And STOP using these grieving parents to promote his gun legislation!

Turns out the 'republic will decline' when our elected leaders are bought and sold by wealthy corporations and they sell our democracy to the highest bidder then hoodwink average Americans to hate those with less then they have and programs which are funded which help the middle class. All the while, the corporate media and a free internet allows raging lies to proliferate and infect the uninformed brains of those predisposed to hate and fear.

Great find in this letter except that it is originally from the 2000 election season as evidenced by the election results, which are 100% verifiable.

In the recent elections of both 2008 and 2012, the results do not match the supposed facts of the letter.

The names have been changed from an earlier version solely to have President Obamas name in it.

There is much about which to criticize President Obama without resorting to false, misleading and doctored information.

In spite of the empty and hollow rhetoric harking back to the ideas of the Founding Fathers it is becoming more apparent that the two political parties have become closer, to the point that there is hardly a
discernable difference between them, both are guilty similar atrocities committed against the real principles upon which the country was founded.

They may pretend that they are different for the simple reason that both parties are in agreement with the idea of global government. The mission of most politicians with rare exceptions is the advancing of the cause of global tyranny. The media whose function in a free society is the recognize and criticize and expose those that would attempt to destroy the foundation of the country and society they ply their trade. Today with rare exceptions the media itself has allied itself with this cabal of globalists. This occurs in every country, at least in every county that would be considered Western Civilization.

Since many individuals in the world do look to the United States of America as being 'the shining beacon on the hill' believing that the country that became the most successful in the history of the world still functions on the principles upon which it was founded. Unfortunately the bad news is that the country has been under attack from within, the founding ideals undermined to the point of being scoffed and sneered at by the brain-dead followers of "progressivism"— those that would be unable to deduce that they are nothing but ventriloquists puppets mouthing platitudes fed to them as talking points from their media handlers.

Darth, anything unfactual in what I posted?

Z said...

Miller, I think the gist of the written piece is there..whether you want to see it and admit it or not.

Screaming Eagle..it's almost embarrassing to hear Obama call the loss "politics" when he plays politics like Heifetz plays his violin. Actually, it's almost funny if it wasn't so sad.

Waylon...though leftwing sites do nothing BUT celebrate CHeney heart problems and Huff Post even crashed under the wait of revelers when Tony Snow died (that was so hard to witness), I don't think any of us will write anything hateful about that horrid Soros when he dies. We disagree and we regret what he's done to America, but revel? Not now, right?

Dave Miller said...

Z, to argue for the idea is one thing. But to present something as a fact, demeaning a president, when it is easily shown to not be about Pres. Obama is another thing.

Yours,and the majority of your followers hatred of Obama is blinding you to facts.

This letter, with the insertion of Obama's name into some supposed factual results is totally false and yet it is treated as truth.

Ideas are debatable... facts, not so much...

@Z:

Maybe if you insert GWB's name instead...it'd make the resident dembaggers feel better? After all...we have to know it's his fault. And yes...the gist and the spirit of the post are spot on and a warning...that's what our resident marxists miss.

Z said...

Dave.. again, the parts about Obama are true, of course. Or are you suggesting that the majority of people in tenements on government aid voted for Romney? Can you present those statistics?

I hate what Obama's doing to our country; actually, I intensely dislike his character and his manipulating and mischaracterizations and I'm frankly a little tired of leftists coming here and throwing red herrings around as they totally ignore the facts of post.
The facts are true.

Maybe you don't think that this Scot was 100% right when he said, 200 years ago or so, that democracy can't last when those on the dole have figured out all they need to do is elect a president who's willing to give them fish instead of supplying fishing poles...I do.

We have this now, thanks to those of you who'll never understand that truth. God help us all.

"Blinding to facts" ;-) You really need to stop being quite so ideological and smug, Dave.
thanks for the lesson of facts versus ideas, as if I, or anyone else here, needed it.

"The disorders and miseries which result gradually incline the minds of men to seek security and repose in the absolute power of an individual; and sooner or later the chief of some prevailing faction, more able or more fortunate than his competitors, turns this disposition to the purposes of his own elevation on the ruins of public liberty.

It serves always to distract the public councils and feeble the public administration.

It agitates the community with ill founded jealousies and false alarms, kindles the animosity of one part against another, foments occasionally riot and insurrection.

It opens the door to foreign influence and corruption, which find a facilitated access to the government itself through the channels of party passions.

It is important, likewise, that the habits of thinking in a free country should inspire caution in those entrusted with its administration to confine themselves with in their respective constitutional spheres, avoiding in the exercise of the powers of one department to encroach upon another.

The spirit of encroachment tends to consolidate the powers of all departments in one and thus to create, whatever the form of government, a real despotism.

If in the opinion of the people the distribution or modification of the constitutional powers be in any particular wrong, let it be corrected by an amendment in the way which the Constitution designates.

But let there be no change by usurpation; for though this, in one instance, may be the instrument of good, it is the customary weapon by which free governments are destroyed."

As I've said before, most of these Islamic 'screw balls' probably won't do these types of things, but how in the Hell do you know which one will be next? They are stealthy and spooky. The apparent [nice] family with swings, and other family crap with children next door could become the next one to do this sort of thing. I was once accused of "painting with a broad brush" or some other socio-jrgon crap but reality is, exactly that, REALITY! I'm sure someone like Ducky will have some hollow, condesending retort; I don't care. If there are any stable Muslims that can police and/or control their unstable brethren OK but I haven't seen it! The next "student visa" that travels to Pakistan or any other shit hole that preaches islamist fundamentalism....is jailed....deported and water boarded.

I do not give a shit for the so called "civil rights" of an enemy of our country.

And that means far left...or far right. They can all go to hell or to Attica as far as I'm concerned.

Now...the real question is...since the bastion of liberalism...the bastion of "feelings" and understanding and tolerance being in...Boston up till now... how do Bostonians really fell toward the religion of "piece" now?

Do they not want real justice for the murdered 8 year old? Or the 30 people that have lost their limbs to be crippled for the rest of their lives because of ..ISLIME? Or the MIT cop that was sacrificed on the altar of a bullshit, fraudulent..."religion"?

Come on Ducky...let your anger and outrage loose....Don't you dare tell me that the Yankees in Revere or south Boston don't want to kill these bastards 10 times over.....show some real balls for the city you love. Which has been defiled by islamist, muslim shits.

I love the quotations from George Washington's Farewell Address. Reading the whole thing, which I have done a couple of times, is heavy sledding, -- not what you'd call "a fun read" -- but everyone ought to make the effort.

He really knew the score, didn't he?

Throughout recorded history there have always been a few remarkable people who could see above the fray and now the Truth. The trouble has been that so few people recognize and appreciate Truth when faced with it the sages and prophets might as well have saved their breath.

Power-Mad Ambition and Apathetic Indifference are the two wings that power The Great Bird of Prey -- another fanciful name for Satan -- that forever circles the sky above us waiting to pounce and devour us while tearing us limb from limb.

Only devotion to God (Life,Truth, Love and Principle) provides sufficient protection from these ceaseless attacks.
