Lou Reed, RIP

You did a LOT for music in the last fifty years.

Thanks.

Some people, they like to go out dancing
And other peoples, they have to work, Just watch me now!
And there's even some evil mothers
Well they're gonna tell you that everything is just dirt
...

And, everyone who ever had a heart
They wouldn't turn around and break it
And anyone who ever played a part
Oh wouldn't turn around and hate it!

Sweet Jane! Whoa-oh-oh! Sweet Jane! Sweet Jane!

How do you think it feels
and when do you think it stops

How do you think it feels
when you've been up for five days, come down here mama
Hunting around always, ooohhh
'cause you're afraid of sleeping

How do you think it feels
to feel like a wolf and foxy
How do you think it feels?

I can imagine z belting out "Sweet Jane".
Must have been different back in her stoner days.

That's not a tune I'd have done...I was more into jazz but I did sing some rock and folk in earlier days.
I'm sorry I met a Velvet member a few years after Lou left the group ...the guy came and jammed with my business partner who'd been in a band with Emerson (I've told that story here, I think)..Emerson was there and he's dead boring, but it was fun to meet him that night and others as well. Never met Reed, that's for sure. i'd have loved to have.
Very good guitarist.
and good looking.

He'd burned his liver out and had a transplant earlier this year...they're not saying but suggesting that was what did him in at only 71.

Ed...I was considered by some pretty 'foxy' in the day........it felt good :-) (Smile)

Imp; there are no words.
To see our heroes had been so worried, and had warned for so long, and all the proof that we were going to be attacked...
and that they put their lives on the line to save the few they could save.

And like the one says "We expect our country to have our backs when we're in those situations...and they didn't"...

WE are his country, and I always feel WE ALL PERSONALLY let our heroes down when things like this happen.

How HIDEOUS.

Jenny said, when she was just five years old
you know there's nothin' happening at all
Every time she put on the radio
there was nothin' GOIN DOWN A ALL!
NOT AT ALL !

One fine mornin', she puts on a New York station
and she couldn't believe what she heard at all
She started dancin' to that fine-fine music
ooohhh, her life was saved by rock 'n' roll
hey baby, rock 'n' roll

Despite all the amputation
you could dance to a rock 'n' roll station
And it was all right
it was ALL RIGHT!
