CNN: Gingrich and the Communist

This caught my eye last night in the news:

CNN announced a few schedule changes today, including the timeslot for its revamped version of "Crossfire.".....The revamped show will be hosted by S.E. Cupp, Stephanie Cutter, Newt Gingrich and Van Jones.

"Situation Room" already lost an hour of its timeslot back in February, when it was cut from three to two hours to make room for "The Lead with Jake Tapper," and there were rumors earlier this summer that new CNN president Jeff Zucker was slowly but surely trying to phase Blitzer out -- which CNN strongly denied.....(by Sarah Morrison for The Wrap)"

Yes, GINGRICH on CNN.  Conservative S.E. Cupp, too.  and liberal Stephanie Cutter and...drum roll.......VAN JONES.   Yes, Van Jones, the communist.  Here's info from a 2009 article:

Van Jones is President Barack Obama's newly appointed "Green Jobs Czar."
Jones' official title is Special Advisor on Green Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation for the White House Council on Environmental Quality.
The 41-year-old Yale Law School graduate and civil rights lawyer is also the founder of California's Ella Baker Center for Human Rights, "a non-profit agency for justice, opportunities and peace."
Sounds idyllic, but Jones' past isn't so pastoral.
The Ella Baker Center was connected to STORM (Standing Together to Organize a Revolutionary Movement), a "multi-racial activist collective with Marxist influences" with which Jones was involved.
In 1992, Van Jones founded another STORM project, Bay Area PoliceWatch, a "hotline and lawyer-referral service for victims and survivors of police abuse." This is fitting, perhaps, since Jones was himself arrested and detained briefly during a protest after the Rodney King verdict that same year.
Jones told the East Bay Express in 2005:
I was a rowdy nationalist on April 28th [1992], and then the verdicts came down on April 29th. By August, I was a communist. (...)  I met all these young radical people of color – I mean really radical: communists and anarchists. And it was, like, 'This is what I need to be a part of.' I spent the next ten years of my life working with a lot of those people I met in jail, trying to be a revolutionary.
Like a character out of The Big Chill, Van Jones seems to have evolved from radical activist to Establishment insider. Perhaps only a left-wing administration incapable of recognizing irony would put a self-described communist in charge of creating jobs.
Luckily for Van Jones, and Obama's many other "Czars" with dubious credentials and troubling backgrounds, his new job was not dependent upon making it through Congressional hearings. (by Kathy Shaidle of examiner.com)

Van Jones..the guy Valerie Jarrett gushed over as someone they'd watched for years as he grew and developed into someone they wanted in the White House...until the country reminded them "ssshh...he's a Communist" and oops...Jonesie was GONE. (don't worry;  he's been really active  since).   But, CNN doesn't mind if he's a Communist.   And, of course, to this day, he blames Republicans for getting him out, though liberal Bob Beckel was one of those who led the charge.

Of course, MSNBC has Lawrence O'Donnell, self ascribed Socialist.....so......I guess the extreme nut jobs are fine for the Left.

Z  ...I can't resist adding that I have always thought Mr. Van Jones is ONE good looking man!

Van Jones is a black theology icon, which means that in addition to all of his other attributes, he’s a rabid racist … not really that much different than Ducky, only darker.

There is no substantial difference between Van Jones and Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton. They are all snake oil salesmen who have learned how to transform racketeering into a legal enterprise. Jones, in proclaiming himself a communist, can scream political persecution if the DOJ ever moves against him for violations of the RICO statutes.

Silly me, I was talking about the DOJ before Holder.

The POINT, of course, is that the "radical outsiders" have BECOME the new Inside-the-Beltway Establishment.

Once upon a time and not so very long ago - when the country still seemed safe for decent people -- a rotten character like this would have quietly DISAPPEARED.

Either the FBI under J. Edgar Hoover or the CIA would have seen to that.

I do not believe in Freedom of Speech for Communists, Muslims and Terrorists or any other subversive elements.

All people are NOT equal. Many are dirty rotten scoundrels.

Have you SEEN Van Jones in action? He's what used to be called "BODACIOUS" and dangerously charismatic.

Beware above all bloodthirsty savages who've been to Charm School.

And yes, my friends, the truth often IS decidedly ugly -- unpalatable -- disconcerting -- unkind, etc. But ONLY The Truth could set us free. Avoiding it means we are compromising with the devil -- a strategy that could only bring us to destruction.

Hmmmm....those same "attributes" fit AH well too.

Hmmm, Bay Area Police Watch.

They need some watching. Since it's in general release you may want to take in Ryan Coogler's Fruitvale Station.
Excellent documentary and he shows admirable restraint in the production.

J. Edgar's your man, FT? With or without the dress.

FROM Z AT WORK:

Honestly, if any man could talk me into communism, I think it'd be Van Jones :-) (and you all know how much THAT would take...and no snickers, please :-)

FT, you're right. There are people with that kind of charisma and he "makes perfect sense" when he speaks to that kind of mind....and that kind of mind's been well trained by our school systems.

By the way...not sure what you mean by EQUAL, but I know plenty of white folks who aren't fit to shine the shoes of plenty of plenty of black folks.

Imp "AH"...it took me a minute, but..you have a point.

Mustang; yes, before Holder :-)

Sam...only darker. That's probably true. And probably a lot better looking (no offense, Ducky)...and I'm sorry to turn so many of my men friends here off, but that man IS good looking!
Okay, okay...I'll stop now :-)

Ducky, what are those??

Ducky's here said...

So, z, are you objecting to Jones being allowed to speak?

Myself, I think he should be replaced by Rick Santorum since the country is in a funk and desperately needs comedy.

--->Santorum said. “They focus on everything they do, and every aspect of their lives. They make it uncomfortable for students who come to Austin to shower at a Young Men’s Christian Association, YMCA gym, because they live it. Because they live it. They’re passionate, they’re willing to do and say uncomfortable things in mixed company.”

I'm sure mustang agrees.

Mustang said...

I do agree, Ducky. In fact, Santorum is such an idiot, I thought you two were somehow related.

This "duck" character should be put in solitary confinement, or otherwise removed from the rest of us. He's an example of everything that has gone wrong.

The YMCA in Austin probably a gay bath house now. Best keep your pope soap on a rope, Rick!

FROM Z:

Wait, Ducky...you're making the leap that because any American should be stunned that a cable channel like your esteemed CNN has an avowed Communist on a permanent show, you think I'm suggesting he should be denied free speech? WOW.
Why can you never focus on my point? You should start your own blog, then you can make up your own posts...don't speak for ME here. I'm perfectly clear and need no assistance, particularly from you.
Thanks. And good luck with that.

Mustang, you equate Santorum with Ducky? What do you despise the most in Santorum?

Grant Sherman...(is your middle name Lee?) :-)
And ya...a very perfect example. well said.

Joe, what do you mean by the pope soap comment?

Joe Conservative said...

...and now you know "the rest of the story":

A group of pro-life students from around the nation was banned from an Austin, Tex. YMCA after pro-choice activists complained about an agreement allowing the students to use the YMCA’s shower facilities.

Students for Life of America had made arrangements with the Town Lake Branch of the Austin YMCA to use their shower facilities during a week-long pro-life protest at the Texas state capitol, spokesperson Alexa Coombs said.

About 56 members of the group are staying in local churches without showers. The Washington, D.C.-based pro-life organization had received permission to use the YMCA’s facilities between 9 p.m. and 10 p.m. each night.

“We had an agreement and that was the arrangement for the whole week,” Coombs told Fox News.

The YMCA did not return multiple calls and emails. A staff member at the Town Lake Branch told Fox News they were aware of the incident. The staffer said the YMCA strives to be politically neutral. He did not explain why the YMCA revoked their agreement with the pro-life organization.

On Monday, the group arrived at the YMCA at the appointed time wearing matching blue pro-life shirts. And that’s apparently what sparked the trouble, Coombs said.

“There were some pro-abortion people working out in the gym and they saw our blue shirts and complained,” Coombs said. “The staff told us they felt bullied and threatened by the pro-abortion customers.”

The next day, the group was told they would no longer be allowed to use the YMCA’s facilities.

“He was very nice and respectful but he said they had some push back from people who are pro-abortion,” she said. “They staff felt threatened so they were not going to allow us to come back to use their showers.”

That prompted a scramble to find an alternative way to accommodate 56 college students in need of a shower.

“Some supporters offered their homes but with 56 people that’s a little difficult to do,” she said.

Eventually, a Catholic high school about 30 minutes outside Austin offered their facilities – at midnight.

“We took the bus up there and everybody came home around 1 a.m. – finally showered,” she said.

Coombs said she was extremely disappointed in the YMCA’s decision to ban their group.

“We were shocked,” she said. “The YMCA is known for helping young people. They’ve always had an open door policy to everyone. We felt discriminated against because of our pro-life beliefs.”

Coombs said she’s not surprised that the YMCA staff felt bullied by the pro-choice activists.

“This is how the pro-abortion people operate every day,” she said. “When you have people chanting ‘Hail Satan,” swearing at people, yelling at kids – it’s going to have an effect outside the capitol.”

Brendan O’Morchoe, director of field operations for SFLA, said they weren’t the only ones bullied by the pro-choice activists.

“Unfortunately, the anger and rage from the pro-abortion protestors has created a toxic environment even outside the capitol building,” he said. “It’s really a shame that the YMCA was bullied by these people.”

Joe, what do you mean by the pope soap comment?

The LAST thing you want to do in a gay bathhouse is "drop your soap," lest you have to bend over and attempt to pick it back up. If you shower with a "soap on a rope", THAT can't happen. ;)

Joe Conservative said...

The Left love's to "de-contextualize" conservative's statements. It's the political equivalent of taking advantage of one's opponent who has just dropped his soap.

Joe Conservative said...

...but once people understand the "context" of Santorum's comment, all of ducky's "comedic wit" disappears, and you're left with the ugly reality that the one's who should have been ashamed, are the very Leftist's who prevented their opponents from showering and who are now doubling down and trying to make fun of Santorum with a de-contextualized YouTube clip.

Z - I have to admiit I don't know anything about Van Jones - even if he is good looking as you said.

Why are they trying to phase out Wolf Blitzer. I'm a fan of his.

Anonymous said...

FROM Z:

Joe, I KNOW what it means but why'd you bring that up on this thread...? I miss the connection somehow.

Sue...you can learn about him on my post and Google him. He's a very smooth-talking man who's an extremist and not someone most cable channels feature on a regular basis.

As for Wolf, the article's mixed...it seems he's only losing 30 minutes a day........

He's so Pro Palestine (though I believe he's Jewish) that I can't listen to his Middle East Talk coverage. Very biased and very painful.

Joe Conservative said...

I miss the connection somehow.

It was advice intended for Santorum, not you, Z. The last thing we need is for conservative activists to emulate the snarky self-serving well-poisoning tactics of their "progressive" opponents. It's not a very "Christian/Catholic" way to behave.

Joe Conservative said...

It's one thing for an activist to make an opponent "uncomfortable"... and quite another to attempt to game a situation so as to have them treated "unfairly". The golden rule is not "suspended" for elections.

Joe Conservative said...

More context.

FROM Z:

I get you now, Joe. I thought you were hinting that Santorum was GAY :-)

Mustang, I'd still like to know why you distrust Santorum that much.

Mustang said...

Hi Z …

I do not loath Santorum at all; I simply regard him as a political opportunist of the first order. I don’t trust him, and he doesn’t speak my brand of conservatism. This is what he said in 2005: “Libertarians have this idea that people should be left alone, be able to do whatever they want—that government should keep taxes down and keep regulations low and not get involved in the bedroom—that we shouldn’t get involved in social issues … you know, people should do whatever they want. Well, that’s not how traditional conservatives view the world.”

There is no one more “traditionally conservative” than I am … and I can say with certainty that Santorum does not represent my conservative views. I want less government, fewer taxes, and I want fewer regulations. I want government out of our bedrooms. I want Santorum to go away.

Mustang, thanks...you're right there. I'm surprised Santorum said that.

May I add that I see the duck is back after the kid so stuffed his attempts at representing reality in Z's last post that he slithered away back behind the baseboards without even an attempt to defend his pathetic comments. And about such an important issue(s) in today's world..

Today (tomorrow in context) however, here he is back displaying both his ignorance and his (as all libtards have this capability) total lack of an ability to be embarrassed.

In all my years of talking to libtards on the internet in comment sections, and on message boards etc, it has become obvious to me that libtards simply cannot be embarrassed. You can even get them to Admit how wrong they are 'today' only to find them spouting the same BS 'tomorrow' just as if nothing happened.

These are the traits of the sociopath, and the certifiably insane or both.
Which is the only point I wanted to make here.
Duck just happens to be the token libtard commenter used to make the point.

Nothing personal duck. I know you can't help it.

That's why VAN JONES is now front and center, the MSM and CNN and The IRS are using the [tactic of unidentifiable bulling], to discourage the IDEA of Supporting (believing in) the Constitution.
That's Fascism 101

Kid said...

TS/WS, That IS fascism 101. using the IRS to negatively impact political opponents is:
1) a million more times serious than the idiotic 'watergate' non-event.
2) just s jump to the right of full blown NAZI storm trooper tactics.

But the libtards love it don't they?

My God...I wish libs would wake up and realize they won't have the great country that spoiled them while growing up anymore if they keep thinking and voting like they do.
Yup...farther and farther from the constitution...till we won't recognize it anymore. or ourselves.

Obama is so untruthful and so nasty and so demeaning and belittling and so sneaky...but the media LOVES him so they don't point things out.
He was on Leno and said we don't have a surveillance program! And NOBODY corrects him.
He said Savannah and Charleston are ON THE GULF,and nobody corrects him...what the..........???

"We don't have a domestic spying program," Obama said on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. "What we do have is some mechanisms that can track a phone number or an email address that is connected to a terrorist attack. ... That information is useful."

Oh, did I add he's as thick as a brick?

"ya, that's USEFUL" :-)
