Question:

Regardless of the fantastic Thanksgiving dinners I'm sure you all had, I thought of a fun question for you all:

IF you could choose..........WHAT FAMOUS CHEF'S HOME WOULD YOU HAVE LIKED TO HAVE EATEN IN YESTERDAY?  ANYBODY..JULIA CHILD, JACQUES PEPIN, OR ANY OF THE FOOD CHANNEL CHEFS LIKE BOBBY FLAY, GIADA DE LAURENTIIS, EMERIL,  PAULA DEEN, INA GARTEN, GUY FIERI....ANYBODY AT ALL!

I'd love to know which you think would have made THE best ever Thanksgiving dinner and WHY!  What do you like about their cooking?

Let's have fun today talking FOOD and CHEFS!

Thanks!

Z  (and I do hope you ALL had fantastic food yesterday....and counted your blessings!)

Emeril for me. I've eaten at a couple of his restaurants and even things I thought I might not like, I loved. I don't care for spicy food, but his is flavorful spicy, not hot spicy.

I love Tom Colocchil, but I have no idea whether I would like his food.

I'm guessing all you mentioned are good choices (Mrs DB) would know, but I'd have to go with Stephen Yan. Wok with Yan not exactly Thanksgiving cuisine, but he is the only TV cooking show I ever watched and he cracked me up :) - Leftover s time hits Michigan before Cali!

A friend of mine, Mike, owns Haabs restaurant here in town.
This year the QVC Channel gave Haabs first place nationally in a restaurant competition.

Does this qualify him as a famous chef?
Well, that's where we ate yesterday.
I was surprised at how busy it was on a holiday when most eat at home.

Z - Any famous chef will do for me.

I'm just thankful that our Thanksgiving dinner turned out well. Nothing unusual or fancy but it was all good and the family seemed happy with it.

I hope you had a good one.

Paula Deen. Probably can come closest to recreating Thanksgiving with my grandmother. Besides, I like a racist flavor with my food. *eyeroll* *snort*

Runner up would probably be Emeril.

Gordon Ramsay or Rocco DiSpirito for me.

Ramsay cracks me up with his constant irreverent banter ( kind of like what I do under my breath sometimes ) and he's an awesome chef.

The da used to make his own kielbasa for Thanksgiving.

It was perfectly spiced and I always looked forward to a day of eating meat. We really enjoyed Thanksgiving.

He took the recipe with him.

Rita...I'd LOVE to eat at an Emeril restaurant..wonderful that you have!

DB...H had "Yan Can Cook" YEARS ago and cracked me up, too!
Yes, leftover time definitely hits you first :-) You were eating leftovers while my family was sitting down to dinner, probably..good point!
I have to admit I was SO FULL I couldn't eat dessert last night so I bought home two small pieces of pumpkin pie and some delicious cake a sister made and ate a little of that in bed around 10pm! :-) Am contemplating having them for breakfast but will kick myself in the butt tonight if I do and it's all gone!!

Ed...Ya, you've told us about Haabs...I'll be that was SENSATIONAL!

Sue, thanks! I know you're probably expecting pics and I should be posting some soon! After my nephew sends them to me!
I'm SO SO glad you enjoyed your family dinner and all turned out well..it's kind of an Arrid Extra Dry commercial sometimes, getting a big meal out all on time, right?

Diamond Dave..I thought Paula's would be the most AMERICUN.....ya, she's such a racist she's had about 30 very close black friends cook with her on TV over the years (hey, the media forgot to mention that, right?!) :=)
Welcome to GeeeZ

IMp...they'd be good!

Ducky, I'm sorry for that lost sausage recipe ...I hope that, someday, you'll find just the right flavor in some great deli, but you don't eat enough meat to try them now and again, right? Could you tell by the aroma maybe?

CS..my pleasure! I hope your dinner was wonderful!

Give me the cute Italian chick. Anything she cooks is fine with me.

Bob, she is cute, isn't she... Giada De Laurentiis...granddaughter of DIno, the film producer.
And she cooks like a dream.

Julia Child and Michael Symon.

I'd love to watch them love cooking together and Julia could tell us stories of her espionage during WWII.

Mr Symon has to have some good stories too.

I'd do my best to contribute something. Maybe I could help out as sous chef. Peel some potato.

We'd eat. Then we'd stay up all night and talk. In the morning, as the sun was coming up, Michael would disintegrate then reappear back in Cleveland, and Ms Child would drift off back to her blessed after-life.

I don't know, Kid..I think they'd just go shopping again in the morning and start again:-)

The best was Emeril's BBQ shrimp appetizer. The sauce was made from Creole seasoning, white wine and Worchester sauce. It was perfectly seasoned.

I choose my Grandmother! She was a fabulous cook, and the rest of us in my family still use her recipe for making stuffing. The old fashioned way. Yummy!

Pris!
Come on! We'd all pick a good cookin' relative...Pick a TV chef!:-)

Rita, that sounds really good!
