Is Our Government Trustworthy?

We have to begin this conversation with the revelation of inappropriate close coordination between Democratic politicians, executive branch appointees, and leftist activists. Recently discovered are emails obtained through a Freedom of Information Act request submitted to the Environmental Protective Agency by the Energy and Environment Legal Institute. As a result, we learn that there has been an ongoing, behind the scenes, campaign by the Obama Administration to stop construction of the Keystone XL Pipeline.

The emails seem to demonstrate that senior policy officials at the EPA are working closely with leftist environmental groups in an effort to implement a progressive agenda that does not benefit the American people.

If we attempt to respond to the title of this post's question based solely upon what we know about these behind-the-scenes arrangements, then our answer is likely to be negative: our government is not trustworthy. It is a logical inference, but who knows if there is not far more to the story than simply a conspiracy to defeat the Keystone XL Pipeline. What we mean to say is that there is always the possibility that the Obama Administration (EPA) is merely seeking independent advice from the Sierra Club, Environmental Defense Fund, Natural Resources Defense Council, and the National Wildlife Fund.  Or, that pigs can fly.

On the other hand, perhaps we should wonder why our federal government is behaving subjectively rather than objectively in the interest of all Americans and every group, whether left or right. It is enough to lead a reasonable citizen to conclude that our federal government is dishonest and corrupt.  It makes us wonder why we even have an EPA if we cannot trust its motives or have confidence in its objectivity. ( Link)

Possibly, the basis of our concern should not be this singular question of Obama’s corruption, noting that we already offered alternative possibilities, but rather the weight or frequency of indices of corruption.  Not long ago, a former high-ranking official within the EPA told members of Congress that before he left the agency, he was working on a project examining ways to modify the DNA of our capitalist system.  (Link)

We wonder ... we really do.   And then there's THIS STORY, which also talks about environmental questions which we'd have thought deserved some conversation?   Z keeps saying "Why's the leftwing so censorial?" , and it continues on and on.

This is the most corrupt, heinous, disgusting, untrustworthy Administration in the history of our country, but, that said, all they are doing is reflecting the majority of our populace. Our country is in full-blown degeneration free fall. Sadly, it appears that those of us who believe in Jesus Christ are now the minority. "It's dangerous to be right when the government is wrong."

Psychiatrist calls liberals mentally ill!

WASHINGTON – Just when liberals thought it was safe to start identifying themselves as such, an acclaimed, veteran psychiatrist is making the case that the ideology motivating them is actually a mental disorder.

“Based on strikingly irrational beliefs and emotions, modern liberals relentlessly undermine the most important principles on which our freedoms were founded,” says Dr. Lyle Rossiter, author of the new book, “The Liberal Mind: The Psychological Causes of Political Madness.” “Like spoiled, angry children, they rebel against the normal responsibilities of adulthood and demand that a parental government meet their needs from cradle to grave.”

Dr. Rossiter says the liberal agenda preys on weakness and feelings of inferiority in the population by:

•creating and reinforcing perceptions of victimization;

•satisfying infantile claims to entitlement, indulgence and compensation;

•augmenting primitive feelings of envy;

•rejecting the sovereignty of the individual, subordinating him to the will of the government.

I'm sorry, but the people deserve to know the truth about crimes and to get to the bottom of all these scandals that this failed Obama administration IS responsible for.
What is amazing to me is that it took over 5 years for a majority of Americans to see it. It's not he just started lying, when most of us knew that by the end of Obama's first year that this entire progressive bunch were exactly what they are today. . My God it's like watching one of the most smart nations in the world turn totally stupid and totally Untrustworthy! Obama has proven that he cannot be trusted. It doesn't take a scholar to know this. How do you trust anyone who admits he knows nothing about anything.
And by the way, Moochelle. how about waking up to reality, It's been almost a hundred and twenty five years since anybody alive has been responsible for slavery, and YOU can’t let it go... You and your husband just can’t miss any opportunity to stop playing the race card, can you?
It shows that in order to be a liberal you have to be a complete blithering idiot, or a criminally insane sociopath!!! Or both!!!

Good post Mustang and Z.

I don't believe the Obama administration is the most corrupt in history but it is in the top three. You do need to remember Nixon was not above coercion the biggest difference is he actually did something.

As long as the press is pro BHO, he will get away with most anything. They allow him to promote instead of prosecute the people who have performed illegal activity and lied about it.

It is amazing how Holder is still running around suing people after the incompetent incumbent kept him from being held accountable for illegal gun sales that resulted in an American death.

Seems that the only killings that don't matter are American's.

"Lyle H. Rossiter, Jr., like Michael Savage, thinks that liberalism is a mental disorder.

Unlike Savage, however, Rossiter is a psychiatrist and is actually serious when he says that. He has written a book, The Liberal Mind: The Psychological Causes of Political Madness, which claims to trace the psychological factors causing people to become liberals.

In a nutshell, the book's thesis is, "My political views are so obviously correct that anyone who doesn't accept them just has to be nuts."

It presupposes the truth of a right-wing political outlook and then tries to plumb the reasons why other people do not accept this truth, the conclusion being that they have to be in massive denial. He chastises liberals for being "uncivil, overly sure of their correctness, and willfully ignorant of facts that contradict their worldview."

Joan Swirsky, a fan of the book, notes that it "avoids all the usual psychobabble." We hazard that this is because the book does not contain any actual psychological science."

Emails obtained recently through a Freedom of Information Act request submitted to the Environmental Protection Agency by the Energy and Environment Legal Institute exposed a slice of that coordination in the campaign to stop construction of the Keystone XL pipeline.

The emails show, according to Fox News correspondent John Roberts, "senior policy officials at the EPA working closely with environmental groups in what appears to be an effort to kill the pipeline."

Wow, "according to Fox News reporter", "what appears to be". Makes you think they'd publish the e-mails and back up the claims.

When they do that revisit this. Otherwise you've got nothing.

As for the film. It received theatrical release. Mark Cuban ran it o his cable network and a small film festival decided it was funded by energy companies. Nothing particularly unusual.

Z said...

I do wish they'd allowed Fracknation to be shown at the Frozen River Festival. It's just more leftwing cenoring, darn!
They had the anti-fracking film shown.
Then they said it was because the Fracknation maker wasn't there...and that was not a condition of the film's being accepted, which it had been.
These are tough times.

I guess you all heard Schumer say that the IRS should crack down HARDER on Conservatives, particularly anything to do with the Tea party. WOULD that they'd crack down on Tides and all the other Soros foundations/thugs who're working behind the scenes. Oh, but of course there are few links; who's want THAT broadcast? :)\
Actually, I think the public may turn quicker than we'd though on lefties after hearing Schumer; I'd have never thought the left would even think that Americans don't usually NOT APPROVE of anything the IRS does, let alone asking it to ramp it up....which is a good thing. Thanks, Chuck!

Schumer has a point. We desperately need campaign funding restrictions.

We should start by not letting him pimp for the hedge funds.

This administration has taken pages out of the Hugo Chavez playbook. It is never okay to use the agencies of the government for vendettas against political opponents.

Something I have dealt with on a different level is younger employees exaggerating stuff to make a name for themselves. I have a great disdain for those seeking to create numbers that mean nothing. When the work is flawed it merely hits another desk at a later moment. Do it right the first time or don't bother.

I don't think it gets us anywhere saying leftists are mental. I don't think they all are; however, I do agree with the quote about incivility, overly sure of their views, etc...
And I suppose if you're begging for freebies and actually think any society can survive with INCOME EQUALITY being strived for, you ARE mentally ill....mentally ill being defined as "doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results"..it's NEVER WORKED, DOPES!

The most distressing thing now is their inability to have a conversation without belittling the other side. It's the lies about Koch and ignoring Soros, it's the lie that "leftwing 501s were targeted, too" (when so few were)...
This morning I actually heard someone say "Well, now you SEE that Hollywood isn't LEFTWING...Friends of Abe has Voight and Senise and Grammer in it"...Can you BEAT THAT? THREE big names, so suddenly Hollywood's not liberal? I really cracked up.

By the way, I'm familiar with that group. Clint Eastwood's in it, too. And a bunch of great young comedians and actors and producers who literally JUMP when a door gets opened at luncheons....one said "I'm always sure paparazzi are going to storm in with cameras and I'll never work again.." I can't tell you the horrid stories I've been told by really good young wannabes with tons of talent.
But, alas........Leftwingers are censorial.

As stated in the article, I don't have a problem with an administration working with groups outside the government. With the Obama Administration, the sin is not who they consulted, but they contrived to hide the association.

Ducky is outright wrong in his opinion that the Fox News reporter was somehow outside his/her area of expertise with their judgement of the purpose of the charade.

The problem is that only advocacy groups were consulted, and secretly at that. We all know that the Obama Administration has ignored scientific and economic evidence in the XL Pipeline scandal.

Obama is a slave to his ideology, endeavoring to force his misguided ideas on the American people whether they are wanted or not. Don't confuse Obama with facts. They don't matter.

You see, Ducky, as Bob said; when things are done secretly on the left, it's very difficult to get the information to reveal them. That's the happy thing about being a lefty in America with a lefty media.
Also, one must never only consult one side for facts when one knows there is validity to the other side, too.

Again, the pull-back on the acceptance of FRACKNATION at a small film festival isn't so much about the festival (who's heard of it other than some esoteric film freak who only appreciates leftwing fodder, anyway?) but that they pulled it....that, again, a film with FACTS is pulled because the FACTS aren't attractive to the sponsors of the festival. tsk tsk tsk

One learns nothing that way...one's country suffers.

Ed, I didn't read that link, but I did see the headline yesterday online.

I think even some liberal journalists have the integrity to want to know what's really going on and to expose it, but would they work again? FOX would hire anybody that honest and conscientious, but not many would go that far to stoop to FOX after the ridiculous name calling of it even by a sitting president.
IMAGINE a PRESIDENT insulting talk show hosts and the largest cable channel in the world? IMAGINE him and other liberals with bully pulpits saying it's "not really news," etc? They're so afraid of it.

I'm fearful of how far they'll go this year with the midterms coming.
HOWEVER...some of my readers know I've often said it'll be a LIBERAL who blows this White House's cover because there ARE Liberals with some journalistic integrity (ok, maybe it's just journalistic curiosity, but I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt) and they just might FINALLY tell the truth......I'm counting on one...or maybe three because one can be silenced easier. it might take a number of them getting together.

Woodward's book was apparently pretty revealing of some Obama White House antics, but the media didn't really cover it. SURPRISE!!!
You'll never get anybody like Doris Kearns telling all...and she knows..........or Eleanor Clift..never....Juan Williams does sometimes but, as you know, he had to go to FOX to make a living after telling HIS truth on NPR!! ugh. I could go on and on and so could you.

Is our government trustworthy?

Absolutely NOT. And I wouldn't only apply that response to this Obama administration.

Does anybody recall Prince Bandar bin Sultan, the Saudi ambassador from the Bush years, who suddenly was recalled to Saudi Arabia back in the day?
Seems he might have disappeared from the spotlight (or in his case shadows) of the American media but has resurfaced in a big way seemingly speaking for the good old U. S of A. And speaking to none other than Russian President Vladimir Putin regarding "terrorist threats" at the Sochi Olympic Games.

Here are some quotations from this meeting:

" “There are many common values and goals that bring us together, most notably the fight against terrorism and extremism all over the world. Russia, the US, the EU and the Saudis agree on promoting and consolidating international peace and security. The terrorist threat is growing in light of the phenomena spawned by the Arab Spring.” Here we must note it was the West which drove the Arab Spring."

"He continued: “We have lost some regimes. And what we got in return were terrorist experiences, as evidenced by the experience of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt and the extremist groups in Libya.”

The second and most shocking is this: ”As an example, I can give you a guarantee to protect the Winter Olympics in the city of Sochi on the Black Sea next year. The Chechen groups that threaten the security of the games are controlled by us, and they will not move in the Syrian territory’s direction without coordinating with us. These groups do not scare us. We use them in the face of the Syrian regime but they will have no role or influence in Syria’s political future.”

So Chechen terrorists, who supposedly carried out the attack in Boston and have killed hundreds of Russians including Russian police officers, are being controlled by the US and the Saudis? And what is more the Saudis and the US are admittedly controlling terrorists in Syria? And lastly this arrogant “Prince” has the audacity to threaten the president of the largest country in the world with terrorist attacks if he does not do his bidding?"

"Bandar attempted at first to bribe President Putin with promises of oil and gas deals, arms purchases and more, to pull Russian support for Syria. He then moved on to the threats of attacks on the Olympics by the Saudi and US' terrorists.

President Putin responded by saying: “We know that you have supported the Chechen terrorist groups for a decade. And that support, which you have frankly talked about just now, is completely incompatible with the common objectives of fighting global terrorism that you mentioned. We are interested in developing friendly relations according to clear and strong principles. Our stance on Assad will never change. We believe that the Syrian regime is the best speaker on behalf of the Syrian people, and not those liver eaters.”"

The Bushie, after failing in all attempts to get President Putin to pull his support for Assad then responded by saying: “… there is no escape from the military option (in Syria), because it is the only currently available choice given that the political settlement ended in stalemate. We believe that the Geneva II Conference will be very difficult in light of this raging situation.”

And today we are on the eve of an invasion because a terrorist Saudi Prince wants to protect the petro dollar and kill all Muslims who are not Sunnis.

Texas has 10,000 injection wells, Frohlich said, and some have been in use since the 1930s. That effectively makes the state a giant research lab for the shale-gas drilling issues now facing Appalachian states including West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Ohio and New York.

If injection wells were "hugely dangerous," he said, "we would know."

"Texas would be famous as a state that just rocks with major earthquakes," Frohlich said. "That is not true."

I always thought that John Roberts was left leaning when he was at CNN. I'm not sure why he moved to Fox News. The 'missus' is still at CNN as far as I know.

But I think his take on Keystone is correct and there is way too much government interference there.
It's even harder to believe that a private company would invest the large amounts of money required without having the proper permits in place to go ahead with the construction leaving a huge stranded investment sitting there idle, as we speak.

It's possible this is just an extension of the war against Canadian energy being waged by the Tides Foundation and the Rockefeller ("charitable") Family trusts.

There is a profound difference linking to sources, and linking to credible sources. Madcow—not so much. Ducky’s favorite is the Daily KOS. Lots of independent reporting over at the Daily KOS … and if I had to take a wild guess, I might be inclined to suggest as many as two non-pro-leftist stories over the last twelve months. You have to admit … that is a lot.

Younger officers like high profile cases. The more criminal or convoluted the better. This is okay if you are sending the right people to the immigration judges. It is not a good idea when the paperwork is done on 90 year old people with no criminal record.

Also waivers exist for a reason. Officials naturally alter the criteria depending on what infraction. For example a violent criminal or a sexual offender is going to face a harder time than
a person with fraudulent papers.

Unfortunately, I am now the person making the calls. The supervisors and the attorneys understand that I use moderation and common sense.
If the waivers can be rewritten with better logic then I will direct the attorney. In some cases
it was just not taking a clear look at the family situation. It is better than the courtroom shuffle where nobody wins.

Where to start, where to finish. Well, there is no finish. From day 1, obama and friends have lowered the bar on a daily basis.

I'll just toss this out, and say this is not even a snowflake on the tip of the iceberg.

michele obama's friend's company CGI, previously acclaimed with running a lemonade stand, gets a no bid contract to create a website. Over the course of two years, the company is paid a BILLION dollars in direct and indirect funding to create a website my boss and I would have been ecstatic to get a contract to do for 10 million and would have delivered a working website. I know this because we delivered a working website to our company that has 100 times more functionality than the healthcare.gov POS. And it works.

The delivered product was defective from end to end, wasn't even 50% complete, was insecure to a point of professionals not being able to describe it without their jaws falling off, was back-ended by former convicts, rife with identity theft holes and didn't conform to HIPPA. People should be in jail. A BILLION and the media calls it a couple glitches. Can you IMAGINE what the media would have done if a non-democrat was in the white house when this went on, let alone the other 10,000 things...

My full comment in reply to this subject could only be complete if I wrote an entire novel. So, I'll stop here.

@Z, I think it IS important that liberals are officially classified as mentally ill. This would either eliminate them from being able to own firearms, or would take away one major weapon the government intends to use on the population to take firearms away from them. Putting them in a category of having a mental illness.
Ever take a valium or other mood altering drug prescribed by a doctor? Ever complain of 'restless leg syndrome'? No firearm for You if they are able to enact this legislation. I'm not kidding.

Kid, ya, I see your point about mental illness!

As for CGI, that's probably a bigger coverup than F&F, Benghazi and the IRS all put together.

NO media coverage has gone toward even investigating the very obvious fact that friends got that project for MANY more MILLIONS than YOU and IMP could have charged creating a running website.

Why didn't they hire Amazon.com's bunch or something...? Or Google? They're big LIB friends of Obama; maybe they'd have done it well and cheaply....

CGI screwed it up, cost a fortune and NOBODY CARES on the left.

amazing.

"a couple glitches"...yes, and when Obama lies it's "I was INARTFUL"... they have such euphemisms on the left and sharpen their teeth for the slightest Republican questionable behavior or phrase.

Waylon said...

To add insult to injury: CGI isn't even an American company. Its head office is in Montreal.

It seems to be one company that seeks business from governments. It is famous for screwing up a gun registry in Canada that never worked and was way over its original bid price with atrocious cost over runs. And the so-called product never did work properly.

Just business as usual as far as I can see. And that Mrs. Obama was "in" with one of the executives is also par for the course when the remnants of capitalism have devolved to corporatism.
