Sunday Faith Blog

"One door closes and God opens another," is a phrase we hear from time to time, sometimes said a little differently, but you get my drift.

Have you ever had that happen, where something really awful happened (breakup of a relationship, losing a job, etc.) and you saw later that things worked out for the GOoD?

Would you care to share?  Or tell us "my friend had this happen ....."   We can deal with wondering if it's your friend or really you! :-)   Please share;  I think those stories are inspiring and could be uplifting for what so many Americans are going through today.

Romans 8:28 says "And we know that all things work together for good for those who love God, who are called according to his purpose."

Have you experienced that?

Have a blessed Sunday...

Z - I can't think of a specific incident just now but I believe that that is what happens. God does close a door and open another on that is much better.

I'll be back if I can think of an example.

Have a great Sunday.

I got blown up twice at the WTC and decided to change vocations. I certainly am not ever bored and I do work that changes lives.

It hasn't always been easy, but it has been a good ride.

We all too often seem blind to God’s plan for us. It is a natural arrogance, or perhaps the work of other forces, that seek to convince us that we do not need God in our lives—we can take care of things all by ourselves. Thus, we often do not recognize that the good and the bad things that happen to us are part of God’s plan. We would be able to see this plan if we moved closer to Him and let God become more of a controlling agent in our lives.

Interestingly, we can observe this notion in other cultures, as well. For example, we can find this notion of something awful happening, followed by the revelation that it was all for the best in Chinese culture. When written in Chinese, the word ‘crisis’ is composed of two characters. One ideogram represents danger and the other represents opportunity.
