Have a wonderful Valentine's Day

This song was the first dance song at my wedding reception.  As most of you know, my husband was from Germany.  I got to thinking about him tonight and so I picked this song for my Valentine's post.........The version I loved was not Anne Murray's but I can't remember the other singer, so I thought I'd play the Murray version and see how it was.........I clicked on it and the introduction is in German, you'll hear it.  There are probably 25 versions of Murray singing that song on video, and I "picked" the German one?

Sometimes there are coincidences.............sometimes they aren't coincidences.

Happy Valentine's Day, honey.  Ich liebe dich sehr.

And Happy Valentine's Day to all of you loyal, wonderful GeeeZers.

Now I have to tell you the truth.  That was SUPPOSED to be the first dance for us at our wedding, but the band was terrific and, for some reason, they did a good "Sittin' on the Dock of the Bay," or we just couldn't wait to dance together, because we danced to that before our 'first official dance!'
Also, "Can I have this dance.."  at our wedding had been recorded by me.  We danced to ME singing.  That was an amazing feeling, believe me. I wish I still had that recording now.

On one of our anniversaries, we were driving up to Santa Barbara, and the first song that came on the radio when I turned it on was "Sittin' on the Dock of the Bay,"...weird. huh?
But nice.

Happy Valentine's Day, Z. Consider yourself hugged!
I am so sorry you have to be without your beloved on this day. However, it looks like he is closer than you think!

Z - That is quite a coincidence that that song came on the radie.
It is one of my all time favorites.

Sorry you are without your love this Valentine's Day.

Happy Valentine's Day, Z ...

And let us hope that Imp has not gone over to the dark side ... :-)

Z,
Every holiday or other special day is difficult when ones that we love are no longer with us. Valentine's Day is especially difficult for one who has lost the only-and-only beloved.

We should all remember this: "Cherish your beloved" -- wise words from Cubed, who used to do a lot of blogging but never blogged again after her husband passed away suddenly and without warning six years ago.

Cubed doesn't even take phone calls or answer emails or snail mails. I miss her.

what a romantic story Z..beautiful memories hun. hugs from Angel:)

Isn't that a wild 'coincidence'? How many Anne Murray things start with German?
I liked the 'coincidence' very much.
And I like that I am doing so well these last four years; and I know he'd like that, too.

Divine, well said! :-) and thanks...same to you.

Rita...I like to think so!

Imp, danke schoen.
I think that list takes a LOT out of the beauty of Valentine's Day, but now I'll be accused of being homophobic. Oh, wait, or AGENDERPHOBIC, or CISPHOBIC,...where does this STOP?!

Sue, celebrate your love today!

Mustang, thanks.
(too late :-)

AOW; that happens with some people; very, very few, thankfully. My husband now is the happiest memory of my life (him, and living in Paris and Munich with him), and that's a healthier place for me to be than concentrating on being stuck in the present without him. That wasn't going to happen, I told myself, and it hasn't been.

I will admit that he's been more heavy on my heart the last day or two and we forget these holidays do have meaning and do conjure up such happy memories that it can make you sad.

BUT, you get busy, plan things to do and move on ....

Woman Honor....Thanks! I thought it was DAMNED romantic :-)!!!

@Z:

IMO, I don't think a Nazi SS symbol is appropriate for today....or any day for that matter.

Yes Z, I do know how you feel. Today, now, is just another day, but full of happy memories, and it is bittersweet.

Our song was "In the Still of the Night", which Mr. Pris and I danced to at our 50th Anniversary Party. I miss him so.

Life is short. Cherish your loved obey while you can.

We spent Valentine's Day on a 12 hour drive from Ft. Myers to Huntsville AL because my sweet cousin lost his wife of 25 years to that bastard we call cancer two days ago.

She was quite honestly the sweetest, gentlest woman I have ever known with that sweet refined Southern Tennessee accent.

She was 11 years his junior and I'm sure he never imagined his life withour her. And no doubt the best marriage I've ever heard of.

My heart aches for him tonight.

We oh so often forget to appreciate our spouses thinking we have eternity.

I know, Z you know better than I how short our time here is.

p.s. Sorry for the downer. We just left him and it's breaking my heart.

Oops. Not "Cherish your loved obey". Supposed to be "loved one".
