Weighing Scandals..........

I'm not a big Christie fan and never have been, but, really..........isn't THIS the truth?  My gosh.

The media today can make or break anybody.

I'm not a big fan of "Chrispie Chreme" Christie either, but he got voted in a few years ago because of Jon Corzine going way too far left. In 2007, Governor Corzine banned the death penalty, even though the voters unanimously voted for it. I wrote a blog post about Corzine striking down the death penalty on MyFoxLA's old blog site in 2007. My blog got posted onto other MyFox sites as well. When Christie ran for Governor in 2009, Jon Corzine kept insulting him with fat jokes; Corzine's snarky remarks infuriated the voters, and led to his political downfall, with Christie upsetting the votes in a huge landslide election.

Too bad the R's don't have anyone who can even masquerade as a moderate now that Kasper Gutman has been exposed.

Z - You are so right. They keep on the Christie thing when there are so many other scandals that are being ignored.

My guess is that the MSM have decided they would rather the GOP have Jeb Bush as their candidate in 2016. It's their call, don't ya know?

Z said...

Jim, I think you're right; who anointed HIM? Awful. But, I'll rally around the dope if I have to...we need to get people back to understanding how leftwing huge government is letting them down in ways they don't even know yet.

Sue...why do you think that is?

Ducky, I don't think a moderate could win anymore; I think smart Americans, many of whom vote and MIGHT outvote the entitlement babies your ilk has created, want a return to conservative values of self reliance, good educations, and DOING FOR OURSELVES and OTHERS. Not being forced to.

Mystere...."way too far left" is what we're going to have to remind voters of this November. I have a feeling that won't be too hard.

But, EVERYBODY...let's not forget that BIG GOV'T monster the left's created has become a cushion for our youth and we need to reteach them that they DO NOT want to have limited futures because all they make is going to their neighbor who WON'T work (who works when you're getting huge welfare??)..etc etc.

I'm hearing a little movement in young people.......toward the Right. I think they're feeling like what DC is doing now is ridiculous; that they deserve to be able to live in a country that welcomes only legal immigrants, that encourages them to do well and keep what they make, etc.

Always....how long do we have to say that before people WAKE UP?

"I'm hearing a little movement in young people.......toward the Right"

I sure hope so for THEIR sake! If significant changes aren't made [soon] they will find themselves in deep $#!t. I wonder how many even realize that? After all, they have had to endure counter productive indoctrination all of their lives.

I am often surprised when I refer to a really big story, like those on the left side of the scale, and my listener (who is maybe someone who gets her news off Yahoo) has no idea what I'm talking about. And I've heard lengthy discussion about it from 2 or more sides!

The MSM has a self-imposed blackout on news they don't like. They see things through a filter that does not, will not see a really big story there.

Take NPR. I actually subscribed to several NPR podcasts for awhile until I realized it was a total waste of time. So I've had a chance to observe patterns and don't base my opinion on one drive by.

First, they omit the big story. Then they add twists to insignificant things that make them look important. Then they fill in with silly stuff that leaves the impression there must not be anything left to talk about. Then there's fake shock or ridicule over some completely normal event to make it look like bad news. And they usually managed to ring in some otherwise unrelated and often non sequitur political conclusion. When all else fails, it's 'move along folks, nothing to see here.'

So even without overt bias, such as NYT editorials disguised as news on their front page (yes, I subscribed for a few years), the MSM frames the thinking and outlook of their viewers/readers to keep their minds occupied within narrowly defined limits while they stretch the blackout drapes tightly over the stuff on the left side of the scale.

How does anyone but the most determined thinker escape from the circus and see what's going on around him?

Obviously you've seen the difference and taken the necessary steps to rid yourself of their poisonous views?

The so called non judgmental and tolerant party is truly anything but.

Let's see, in terms of actual weight:

1. Christie may have created extra traffic;

2. Four people are still DEAD from Benghazi.

Yep. Extra traffic is more important.

Baysider...I've had liberals say "But you know about things I've never even heard about...!"
And I ask them to Google or I send links. The open minded ones are stunned...most don't respond at all, I have to admit.

There is news in the conservative media which never sees the light of day in the leftwing, every day media.....
I will watch FOX and flip back/forth to CNN quite a bit; almost all the time I watch FOX I see what's on CNN, too, because I want to hear what they're highlighting.
While FOX had some of the IRS hearings Thursday morning (early, our time, but midmorning EST), CNN was covering the Justin Bieber pot on the plane story. They never ONCE, from LA time 6 AM till about 8:30 AM, ever showed or talked about the hearings in which Conservatives were saying they're still being targeted AND the IRS head apologized! NEVER ONCE.

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2014/02/05/new-irs-chief-apologizes-to-targeted-tea-party-groups-after-house-hearing/

If anybody heard that on CNN at all the last two days, PLEASE tell us, or link it ...

I just Googled "head of irs apologizes conservative targeting now CNN 2014"

Nope...no HuffPost, no CNN, no NYTimes...maybe I'll try again later and use different buzz words...but NADA.

It's unbelievable what American voters aren't hearing...
And, when the Republicans try SO HARD to fill them in, they're met by "Oh, it's on FOX so it doesn't count," (with our president making SURE they think FOX is worthless because of his ridiculous remarks), "Republicans are evil, that can't be right" etc etc.

this isn't America anymore, folks

Imp, she never had "poisonous views," I assure you!! You'd like Baysider. And her husband.

Not important enough to give this a full post but enough to talk about it:

Today on Television, Public Television showed a very long documentary on the Amish and people who've left the Amish community. It was on when I came into my living room and vaguely interested me so I sat down...
It was person after person showing their lives with as children of the Amish in not much detail, but their lives outside the community in glowing terms. It was painful to see such a slam on the Amish, tho I have absolutely no horse in that race; it was interesting at first, then I started wondering how it would feel to the Amish to hear this and not have a voice in what they believe...and, MOST IMPORTANTLY, why anybody'd want to insult them so badly when it's their every RIGHT to believe as they DO?

Just stunning...It really got me thinking about our taking peoples' dignity away because some producer didn't like the religious angle and the very strict lives...as if it's his business? BUt, he has a secular ear, a secular production company behind him, and HE WINS..$$$ And the piece is made.

And there are people today thinking less of a group that's never harmed anybody.
But, maybe, itself?

this is a metaphor, I think, for so many stories.

Most serious threat to sovereignty and it's ignored?

Is Bloviating Zeppelin implying that there hasn't been constant coverage of Benghazi (Lara Logan) or is the problem that it just hasn't confirmed his biases?

Nope, there hasn't been enough coverage of Benghazi.

Stunning.

The only way the right will accept news coverage is if it confirms their warped world view.

Z said...

Ducky, you're right...there has been coverage of Benghazi, quite a lot of it, by media insisting FOX has been over covering it....
yes, they have been covering that.
LARA LOGAN???????? :)!!!
You find ONE report that was unsubstantiated and you dine on THAT? DUCKY! BE INFORMED!!!!!!

I LOVE how you proved my constant point, though; I write how my lib friends are surprised they don't know things I know and you find the one thing I admitted not being 100% up on and, what...that's supposed to make me think "Gee, maybe I'm not informed!?" I LOVE laughing at your comments. You never let me down. You're as transparent as Obama's WH is NOT :-)

I wonder if any one has stopped to consider the underlying cause of our problems in this country: Lawyers. Obama, Hillary, Holder, Biden, Christie, Graham, Jackson-Lee, Hank Johnson, Hoyer, Boehner, Ryan —the list just goes on, and on, and on …

I've stopped to consider that a coup might just be justified at this point. Cause the electoral process sure has failed...all of us.

The checks and balances are non-existent.
The laws are ignored.

Breakup of family authority was settled on.
It was a great discussion.

"Rid yourself of their poisonous views" sounded like you thought she once had them and rid herself...no biggie! SOrry

Ed, I think a lot of it is a loss of family authority... the things that kept us on point was our parents and their rules, the respect we felt, their caring where we WERE, their caring about our education..........their faith and how they implemented it in front of us.
So many good things.
And a little shame never hurt anything. A little pride helped a lot. I remember the days when taking welfare was looked upon as a terrible thing; living off your neighbor. NOBODY wanted to do that.
My own family came here poor after having survived the massacres of the Armenians and my granddad's sis had to be put in an orphanage because his mother died on arriving at Ellis island...they had too many kids and no mom. My grandfather was 9 and I know for a fact that he never got over the shame and sorrow of her having had to be put there for a year or so. He became a man of some means but he never forgot that shame.

I mean in any other country...even so called democracies like Italy, GB and so forth.

This would be reason enough to have a no confidence vote...dismantle and fire the existing rubbish...and start again, right?

We get lifers like Rangel, Mitch McConnell, deranged idiots like Jackson Lee...Boxer...then the already decided "royalty" as to who's going to inherit the throne like the incest loving Brits?
