FANTASTIC NEWS FOR AL QAEDA.....

Senate votes to ban waterboarding
By PAMELA HESS, Associated Press Writer 2 hours, 9 minutes ago
WASHINGTON - Congress on Wednesday moved to prohibit the CIA from using waterboarding and other harsh interrogation methods on terror suspects, despite President Bush's threat to veto any measure that limits the agency's interrogation techniques.

The prohibition was contained in a bill authorizing intelligence activities for the current year, which the Senate approved on a 51-45 vote. It would restrict the CIA to the 19 interrogation techniques outlined in the Army field manual. That manual prohibits waterboarding, a method that makes an interrogation subject feel he is drowning.
The House had approved the measure in December. Wednesday's Senate vote set up a confrontation with the White House, where Bush has promised to veto any bill that restricts CIA questioning.
Arguing for such restrictions, Senate Intelligence Committee Chairman Jay Rockefeller, D-W.Va., said the use of harsh tactics would boomerang on the United States.
"Retaliation is the way of the world. What we do to others, they will do to us — but worse," Rockefeller said. "This debate is about more than legality. It is also about morality, the way we see ourselves ... and what we represent to the world."

Z: DON'T LOOK NOW, MR. ROCKEFELLER, BUT THEY ALREADY DID FAR, FAR FAR FAR FAR FAR FAR FAR FAR WORSE TO US. DIDN'T YOU NOTICE?

they don't give any quarter

AND NEITHER SHOULD WE

It doesn't look like they'll have the necessary votes to override a veto...but, we all know how McCain feels about it as well.

I don't like the wording, unless that's not the actual wording...I mean other harsh treatment or something like that>...is that vague or what? What determines if it's 'over the top'? The person who it happened to or the gov't or the military? Ugh...more of the same crap they've done for the past two years...oh, but all the screaming they're doing about ALL the HARD WORK that needs to be done...SOOOOOOO Do it!!! How about doing that rather than having a fourth or fifth congressional hearing on steroid use in baseball? We need a revolution.

NW...I hear you...

let baseball regulate itself and let Congress get on to the people's business

"...and other harsh treatment methods". What CAN we do anymore to threaten someone when our country could be at risk? Threaten to take away their VISA card? Threaten to put his daughter in a miniskirt? what would make a muslim terrorist react, spill the beans, come clean?

CAN WE DO ANYTHING? Is it always WE who have to step aside so we look good, seem nice, set a good example? are we NUTS? WHEN will the Left wake up to the threat? EVER??

If the world followed America's lead we'd be holding the Super Bowl on freakin' Mars instead of trying to teach Abdul "blow up baby bad."

Let me tell you what. If hooking up a car battery to a terrorist's nuts and jump-starting him will force him into coughing up information that will safe lives, all I have to say is "black is negative, red is positive."

What part of, "They hate us because we aren't them!", don't they understand? That goes along with, "What part of illegal don't you get?"
Good morning, G*D bless and Maranatha!

This feel-good utopia hippie-love crap is going to get us all killed!

Please, please, come the day when these leftover hippies are out of our government!

elmers brother said...

As I understand it there are at least 3 count them 3 terrorist attacks that have been thwarted by using waterboarding and the longest any one of them lasted was like 35 seconds!!!!

I hope he suffers from PTSD

As I understand it, this stuff ain't exactly a good time for terrorists.

Good thing jihadis don't use the internet.

/sarcasm

Don't worry they took the 2006 revisions offline already before any terrorists got a look at them, just in case someone got the idea of training to resist them.

/sarcasm again

brooke. Don't look now, but those hippies might be moving in 'en masse' in January 09! BIG TIME. Dumbocrat Pres and Dumbocrat Congress! (hey, anybody ever coin DUMBOCRAT or did I just make it UP!! QUICK, copyright that, I could use the 'CHANGE'!...ARGH...that WORD, I can't hear it again!!)

By the way, I had a few people come up to me this morning saying "Obama just says NOTHING! Am I missing something!" this is a good thing.

Did anybody hear that Michelle Obama's is on record for having screamed at Barack in some big meeting "Barack...don't THINK...FEEEL!" Apparently, at an advisory meeting, those were HER three cents. This was in the WSJ.... a friend told me about it this AM. TYPICAL, eh? DON"T THINK...FEEEEEL

Maybe she doesn't have much faith in him, either!?

Don't know where to put this Z, but it's in the news today on Fox that Romney is to throw his support and possibly his delegate count to McCain...what do you think Huck will do now?

Pati

Z said...

Huck's OUT. He could NEVER get the delegate numbers he needs now.

I would say he'll wait till tomorrow and give some big talk about how this showed the American people have values great enough to have come out for him in such huge numbers, that there is still a promise (he won't use the term HOPE unless he's talking about going back, to his home town and retiring!) and new days ahead (no CHANGE used, either, unless he's asking a supporter for bus fare home to HOPE)!!!

Ah yes,
The Congress is on it's way back(progressive?) to making the CIA as toothless as they were on 9-10 2001. Next, will be the electronic tracking of foreign calls. One tooth at a time.

The result: The next attack the same questions will be asked that were asked post 9-11. "How did this happen, why didn't you follow the dots"?

These are the people Americans want running the country?

Of course, they're too busy tracking our eating habits, our vices, our energy consumption, obesity, our kid's sex education, our light bulbs, our toilets, steroids in baseball etc., you know, all the really important stuff!

Terrorists? Well gee, they have rights too, don't ya know.

Great pati..Michelle's terrific!! These Dems who KNEW about torture and EVEN ASKED IF IT WAS ENOUGH (!!!?) whine that torture isn't nice? What disengenous...well.

By the way..I can't find disengenuous in my dictionary..is it disE or disI? (seriously!)

But, I digress.....Pelosi WAS BRIEFED and said NOTHING because she needs Code Pink...how's America going to take to THIS?

AL QAEDA must think they're in some dream "this is JUST TOO GOOD!" 'Must be nice, Code Pink, to be on bin Laden's side, huh? How's it feel??'

Anybody hear Jane Fonda say THE C WORD (yes, THAT one) on TODAY this morning? WHAT??????????????????

The Senate voted on this during the DC primaries.

McCain showed up to vote in favor of extending the FISA provisions that allow electronic monitoring of terrorist communications.

Obama showed up to vote against it.

Hillary didn't show up at all.

Over on the House side, the measure hasn't come up on the floor for a vote. Nancy Pelosi is more worried about steroid use in baseball.

The previously enacted FISA provisions that track terrorist communications EXPIRE TONIGHT AT MIDNIGHT.

Tomorrow (Saturday) will be a more dangerous world for America.

Thanks, Democrats!

MAN, TWELVE DAYS of no congress to FIX this idiocy! TWELVE DAYS in which Al Qaeda can be making any plans they want on the phone and we can do NOTHING. I'm hoping there are enough patriots at the CIA (ya, sure) who'll do what they need to do without Pelosi's blessings. Imagine if they did stop a terror attack and saved thousands of lives and how our lefties would have them under arrest, anyway, for having broken the law? You can depend on it.

TWELVE DAYS. We should get citizen vigilantes to
