THE MEDIA LIED AND AMERICA SIGHED......

OBAMA'S GOING OVERSEAS! Did you hear about that? (with Gibson, Couric AND Williams!)

"If this were John McCain's first trip to the war zone, that would be a story and we would cover it big time," said Paul Friedman, the senior vice president of CBS News. "This is Senator Obama's first trip — his positions and the public's perception of him on national security issues are important."

"Chuck Todd, the political director for NBC News, said Obama's ability to draw media interest should not be surprising. "This is the way all of the new guys are treated — whether it was Ronald Reagan, Michael Dukakis, Bill Clinton or George W. Bush," Todd said. "There's always a candidate who gets more 'new guy' treatment versus the other one, and it's not always positive."

Z: Oh, okay...so if they don't cover McCain's trip, at least they've covered their bases, right? "He's been there before.. and he's not a NEW GUY" Tell me, just how FREAKING dishonest can our media be?? How STUPID do they think we ARE?
More from the linked article: "In the last couple of weeks Obama has graced the front of Rolling Stone and, for the second time now, that of Us Weekly (both of which are owned by the company of a prominent Obama supporter, Jann Wenner)."

By the way, Michelle's staying home. SO, if Cindy goes FIRST, you think she'll be "on the cover of the Rolling Stone?" "Ha, ha, ha, I don't believe it.." as the lyrics say........
thanks, Dr. Hook and the Medicine Show!

How creative of this journalist. He's actually thought of an answer to the blatant biases of the mainstream media to the left; a sick, weak answer, but an answer nevertheless. Now, how about the truth? Obama is pegged by the machine to win the next election and the media is his fifth column. That democracy is under the thumb of the machine's manipulations and the public can't be trusted to make up their minds based on information rather than propaganda. That's a start.

They don't call the press the 4th (and 5th) Estate for nothing.

Here's FJ's excellent reference. We all know the media's called THE FOURTH ESTATE; Here, apparently, is why and just how strong they've been all these years: (from Wikistinkia)

"Novelist Jeffrey Archer in his work The Fourth Estate made the observation: "In May 1789, Louis XVI summoned to Versailles a full meeting of the 'Estate General'. The First Estate consisted of three hundred clergy. The Second Estate, three hundred nobles. The Third Estate, six hundred commoners. Some years later, after the French Revolution, Edmund Burke, looking up at the Press Gallery of the House of Commons, said, 'Yonder sits the Fourth Estate, and they are more important than them all.'"

They SURE are.

Pat...no, I love the photo, too, but it's what we kids used to do in school if you lied, remember? cross your fingers behind your back and that makes you innocent of the lie you're saying!? The media's crossing its fingers so much they must be arthritic by now.!

Aurora; scary, and SO right.

I'm sure they won't threaten to behead Obambi... they love him!

Media schmedia! It even takes Fox News about three days to catch up with the internet. I don't watch any other news because I can't trust them, and I often get very frustrated with Fox News too.

I just heard John Ashcroft in the 'senate GRILLING hearing' answer "No" when asked "...and you're not suggesting torture is okay if it keeps us safe, ARE you?"

yup.

Yeah sure, look an incredibly obese pig gliding by majestically.

"How STUPID do they think we ARE?"

I don't think they think that at all Z, them thinking that we're just stupid implies they actually care enough to try and fool us.

It's far worse than them thinking they can fool us. It's progressed to the fact that they frankly just don't care what we think anymore.

BEAUTIFULLY stated, Aurora. Says it all perfectly.

As Jed Babin said today substituting for Rush, "The media will be running perpetual infomercials for Obama and passing them off as news."

Obama's trip abroad is nothing but a publicity stunt designed to give the media a good excuse to focus on him almost exclusively. It's also designed to upstage and overshadow President Bush's appearance at the Olympics in China.

McCain reportedly said, "NO!" without further elaboration when asked if he thought Obama's trip to the Middle East was politically motivated.

I could SWEAR McCain is COMPLICIT in Obama's bid for the White House.

I have actually begun to HATE Republicans. They certainly don't represent ME these days and haven't for a very long time. There's no FIGHT in them at all.

I just don't get it. We are dEFINITELY being sold down the river but to WHOM–––and WHY?

RESPONSE FROM MAL
In answer to Beamish: Lenders can be cut off from selling to FNMA if they make too many bad loans and that could put them out of business. To Aurora, yes, poor people can be hurt when losing their homes but may times they walk away because they owe more than its worth (called "up-side down") and there's little incentive to put good money after bad. Again, this comes from 2 things: Poor lending practices, yes, but also poor judgement on the part of the borrower. I have felt for a long time there should be classes in High School teaching the importance of household finances, from credit cards
and car financing to home purchasing and types of loans. FJ raises some good points re: PMI: Lenders feel comfortable making 80%loans. Before PMI came into being in the mid-60's sellers had to carry a 10% second which wasn't always convenient due to their needing the cash for their next home, so a company called MGIC (MAGIC) Mortgage Guarantee Insurance Corp. was created
to insure the top 10% of a 90% loan to the lender. MGIC kept the premium paid for that guarantee.
RE: FNMA Securities not being guaranteed by the Gov't. you are right, but they do it A. To instill confidence in the market and B. Because they were originally formed by the government and are still a quasi government-private organization. Its like in the past when banks have failed FDIC has paid people in full even if it was over the $100,000 insured limit; and finally, "taxpayers get stuck with the bill"...welcome to the real world, FJ!

I never use the S-word, the F-word, the P-word, the C-word or the N-word nowadays. Whenever I feel such an urge all I say now is "OBAMA!"

I couldn't agree more, and have said the same thing, myself, for decades.
