Obama speaking in GERMANY? WHY?

McCain was in Colombia, Obama wants to go to Germany. WHY? Obama not only wants to speak in Berlin, but he is saying he wants to speak at the Brandenburg Gates on "Translatlantic Relations". Merkel is fighting this, she made a clear statement saying "this is a historic place with a symbolic value for significant types of occasions and declarations" adding that only elected presidents and high dignitaries will speak there, not candidates. She said he can stroll there with reporters lapping up his every word, but not make a public speech there. But, the Mayor of Berlin, their first gay mayor and a total lib, is the one who decides and he's for it. The German papers are saying this is a 'gift from heaven' for the mayor who would introduce Obama and would look so cool for the doing. Germany was told by Obama's people that "he wants to speak there in the tradition of the JFK speech" (tho JFK did not speak at the Brandenburg Gates because the Wall was still up, of course).

Does anyone think presidential candidates should even go outside our country for any reason? They don't represent us. "Transatlantic Relations?" "JFK?" Is he kidding?

thanks, Mr. Z

Remember a year ago when Hillary was suppose to be a shoe-in? So what happened? She shot herself in the foot! Obama hs been doing it, also, but thus far hasn't seemed to deter his supporters. Perhaps if there is enough negative things that come out about him or from his mouth, his popularity will wane. I've been also wondering if the
Administration might be delaying some good news about iraq just long enough to sway the voters in November. Also, if Obama does get in, he better have good security because I believe its possible some nut may try to kill him, ala J.F.K., Bobby K., or M.L. King.

Hi, Mal..great to have you here.

I'm thinking they're saving good news, too, but that's mostly the media, I fear...which probably won't allow much good news even when the WHite House reveals it....

as for the assassination stuff..I SURE HOPE NOT. BIG time.

i don't understand the rationale behind presidential candidates going overseas. it seems EXTREMELY premature and a great waste of money. it also seemps pompous and irrational.

What didn't they tell you? The DNC has been annointed by Europe and the world as the official spokes-government for the USA. Bush is O-U-T, out! Obama is I-N, in!

btw- Obama has recently co-located his own election HQ w/the DNC's HQ and so Chicago is now the officially recognized capitol of the United States of America.

Appreciating the rainbow...

The percentage of voters who give Congress good or excellent ratings has fallen to single digits for the first time in Rasmussen Reports tracking history. This month, just 9% say Congress is doing a good or excellent job. Most voters (52%) say Congress is doing a poor job, which ties the record high in that dubious category.

Last month, 11% of voters gave the legislature good or excellent ratings. Congress has not received higher than a 15% approval rating since the beginning of 2008.

The percentage of Democrats who give Congress positive ratings fell from 17% last month to 13% this month. The number of Democrats who give Congress a poor rating remained unchanged. Among Republicans, 8% give Congress good or excellent ratings, up just a point from last month. Sixty-five percent (65%) of GOP voters say Congress is doing a poor job, down a single point from last month.

Voters not affiliated with either party are the most critical of Congressional performance. Just 3% of those voters give Congress positive ratings, down from 6% last month. Sixty-three percent (63%) believe Congress is doing a poor job, up from 57% last month.

hugo...yet this same public which says the Dem-dominated Congress is poised to elect an even MORE Dem-dominated Congress. Go figure.

Yes, FJ; Europeans love Obama. (not all, but many) I say send him there and cancel the return flight.

Please, you can't let him there. Europe has enough Marxists, we don't need more (although the difference is that in Europe people acknowledge when they are Marxists).

Who does B. Hussein Obama think he is, requesting to speak at that historic place - I would call that "Hybris" (Greek for excessive arrogance).

Think I'll put on some Haydn. Still a little too Baroque for my taste but who am I to buck The Music Man.

Hybris or hubris?

Well mal, cheer up. The knuckledraggers won't go after McCain. He's one of their own.

Z said...

Ducky, Hybris is Greek, it's totally acceptable and shown in America's Webster's and that's how it's spelled in Germany, where my husband is from. SOrry to offend your sensitivities with some education.

Haydn's a favorite of ours..enjoy. But, then, we knuckledraggers also enjoy The Music Man. Eclectic, you might say. And not very good snobs......I'll bow to you on that.

Isn't this fun, Ducky? we're at it again like we'd been at FPM. :-)

Again, BZ is right. Obama is a narcistic control freak. He is in love with himself. Well... somebody's gotta love him.

Megalomania and Arrogance!

They make a lovely couple!

Romeo and Juliet. Tristan and Isolde, Abelard and Heloise, Ice Cream and Cake, Kate and Petrucchio, Elizabeth and Essex, Mimi and Rodolfo, Gin and Tonic, Scotch and Soda, Rape and Murder, McCain and Obama, Megalomania and Arrogance.

Yes! It's all part of a Great Mystical Pattern of Inevitable Doom coming to a voting booth near you.

Z,
I'm stealing the quote from Merkel. I hope Obama keeps it up. This too cute by half routine of his is going to do him in.

Actually, I think the Obama people are having a hard time figuring out just how to present their messiah to the rest of the world.

He screws up a statement every other day, and Ican't help thinking good old Hillary is standing near by, waiting , like the old Cheshire Cat from Alice in WOnderland, tail twitching and ready to pounce.

Has anyone ever run with these many mistakes and got away with it? Even the Clintons faced lots of grief , and if not for Ross Perot, there would not have been a President Clinton. He only got 43% of the vote.

One gets the feeling that Obama is just being goaded into speaking more and more whoppers...and being the egotistical senator he is , he is doing just that.. but maybe he keeps looking back over his shoulder ??

This man is obsessed with his own delusions of grandeur. Unfortunately he probably knows that Europe is utterly infatuated with him. Suddenly with the rise of the left, America has become the flavor of the month over there.

If you look at the polls the Europeans love Obama, then perhaps he should stay there and lead them on his hope and change journey. But he won't go, not when he has a good shot and screwing America over.

Obama screwed up AGAIN! EVERY SINGLE few days, he goofs.

Today, he's SORRY and WON'T LET THAT HAPPEN AGAIN re: having his family interviewed in an impromptu manner at a picnic on one of the kids' birthdays..."I shouldn't have let that happen"

I hope that, someday, he's not talking about losing Cleveland..."gee, I was careless....artless...I didn't refine that anti-terror plan correctly.."

Yes, Obama is BIG IN EUROPE! The RETRIEVER, the one who'll make them feel good that THEIR opinion about Iraq was right all along.."and the American agrees now..finally, someone we can relate to!" yuck. (but, please, that's not ALL Europe)
