Sen. Norm Coleman......Franken's been busy!

Coleman to use campaign funds for defense

From Politico

"Donors to Minnesota Sen. Norm Coleman's re-election campaign may be surprised to learn that the St. Paul Republican is planning to use their contributions to pay blue-chip criminal defense lawyers to defend him against a reported FBI probe into his dealings with a wealthy businessman.

As the Strib and our Josh Kraushaar report, Coleman and his wife Laurie have retained lawyers Earl Gray and Doug Kelley to deal with allegations that his friend and political patron Nasser Kazeminy funneled $80,000 to the senator's wife through a Kazeminy-controlled Texas oil services company. The Colemans have denied the charges -- and accused rival Al Franken of stoking the controversy........(more here)."

Z: Oh, no. Franken wouldn't do that, right? WOW! And, if I believed in a candidate and saw the dirty politics played against him, I wouldn't mind if my contributions paid to help defend him, would you? They're still recounting; more info should be out Friday as they tackle Franken's challenges first. If this isn't decided by recount, it goes to the U.S. Senate. I guess this newest attack is just padding Franken's nest for if anything happens he doesn't like, huh? Just in case they're tied, he's found a solution?....Come up with a SCANDAL, put doubt in senators' minds? Man, the Franken people have been BUSY!

Is this about Franken or more about the balance in the senate? Did Franken's visit to Washington recently mean he went there asking Pelosi and Reid for help? Or did they tell him "find something, we have to have Coleman's seat so we can dominate?" I'd have sympathy for Minnesotans IF I thought normal people should vote for someone with so little experience and who posed for a photo in diapers. That's class, huh?

(Gee, I Googled Franken in diapers, and other key words, then 'images', and nothing's there! That's a pretty well known photo, isn't it? Well...Google's decided it could ruin his image, I guess. Must be nice to have the most popular search engine in the bag for you. Funny, Google will deny liberal slants, but let a Conservative start up a new search engine and the media'd be screaming FOUL "Too biased!!" The fun never ends!!)

I agree Z. First Jesse Ventura. They want to be quirky, let them live with it.

Al Franken Is A BIG FAT LIAR

Ducky's here said...

Yes sir, anything that happens and its a D inspired conspiracy against the lily white (in several ways) Republicans.

Coleman's out.

No z, let's talk about your Governor Gropinator ... that's normal, right?

If I were you I'd start worrying about your bond rating and stop worrying about the Minnesota Senate race.

Train in the tunnel. The Fed is all out of monetary policy tricks. Now lets all hope that the R's don't block fiscal measures.

But what's that compared to Al Franken in a diaper. Right?

Both. Franken is such the idiot. Can you imagine anyone voting for that turd? Those persons must have had an IQ of 20 or less.

Al Franken could be in the U.S. Senate...a sign the end of times are truly near.

I've seen Franken speak both in person and on TV and I think he'll be an excellent Senator. Stuart Smalley is a fictional character, you know.

Both sides are fighting this to the end, and that's as it should be. There's been nothing underhanded by either side so far, though a lot of Republicans in the national media have been circulating "stolen election" allegations with no basis in fact.

The recount is automatic and required by law, and it's right on schedule. The only one slowing things down with lawsuits in Norm Coleman. There's no hurry on this, since the new Senator won't be seated until sometimes next month, and since the US will survive fine if it only has 99 Senators for awhile.

Everyone should just chill.

we'd survive fine with no senators at this point

If there is an honest politician in the country, would he or she please stand up?

I think they're all sitting down, Z. :(

Well, Elbro, I still say it was hard enough to find that you have to wonder...thanks!

No, Ducky...as I've said a lot of times, I'm into good character and not belittling our United States Senate by having a creep like Franken even there. We now have a president who gives the finger in crowds to other senators and may have a man like Franken who'd pose in a diaper and more....maybe that's your style, it's not most of ours.

I wonder that no Democrats (but those planning these things, I guess?) wonder that Republicans are slammed JUST at the time they're either up for reelection or a new election with SCANDAL!
And, I also wonder how Democrats actually believe their people have less scandal (Wolf Blitzer said that last week, that it was surprising that Blagojevich's situation came up!!!!)

What it is is the media...remember how they downplayed Wm Jefferson and his frozen money? Sandy Berger?? Amazing. PICTURE if it had been a wimpy Republican..I say wimply because they never fight back and never remind people of what I just reminded you of.

Franken is the new F-word, and as far as I'm concerned the new F-word is FAR more offensive the old F-word.

So, EFF you, Al Franken, and may you and all your rotten ilk get taken out with the next load of garbage.

How a creep like F-word could EVER get ANY votes in an election ANYWHERE is, indeed, a measure of how far we've fallen into the Abyss.

Has anyone ever caught a REPUBLICAN carrying on about not winning an election --- even if he lost by only a few hundred votes?

Maybe. But I've never heard about it.

The election in 1959 was stolen from Richard Nixon by --- you guessed it --- CHICAGO thugiticians.

It was a KNOWN FACT at the time, but NIXON refused to demand a recount, because he thought it would be harmful to the nation to disturb the natural flow of events in the electoral process.

So much for NOBILITY! Look where it got Nixon.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Al Franken might be the only person in the spotlight more liberal than Obama himself. Its hard to take him seriously. He and San Francisco should start their own country.

It's hard for me to believe that anyone who knows anything about Al Franken would actually want to see him in the Senate. But then again, Caligula made his horse a Senator.

Seriously, z, what's this phobia about diapers? Really, I don't get it.

Cheer up, compared to the likes of Tom "Bugman" DeLay, Rick "L'il Ricky Retardo" Santorum, Bill "Cat Killer" Frist, Ted "Graft" Stevens, Liddy "My Opponent's an Atheist" Dole and quite a few others I think the Senate will be a better place this session.

Frankly, I don't remember a downplay of Sandy Berger. I do remember he was fined and the matter was not particularly important.

Wm Jefferson? Some Louisiana pol got caught with some cash? I'm shocked. It's the most corrupt state in the union.
Meanwhile, Secretary Paulson is walking hundreds of billions in swag out the back door and you worry about some low end campaign contribution scam.

Hey, thanks for Darryl Issa, now there's an honest Republican, right? Or Duke Cunningham, another gift from California. Somehow that crook Richard Pombo got voted out. He was a Republican prize.

I'd say the last few sessions have been won handily by the R's in the graft department, z.

One thing that may come out of the Blogo investigations though is the end of Jesse Jackson Jr. It would be a good thing for race relations in this country if that sleazy shake down artist gets nabbed.

But anyhow. Really, what's the deal with diapers?

All of your comments are so utterly you, Ducky...ignore the facts about Democrats and attack the Republicans again. Are you related to Alan Colmes?

Diapers? Have you seen the picture Elbro provided? You want your senator THAT classless?? THAT"S FINE....I didn't say YOU don't have to like it....I find it unseemly. On the other hand, the Left's the side which denegrates those things most Americans hold near and dear...so maybe a diaper'd stupid ridiculous senator's just what we deserve.
thanks.

Um, Tom DeLay was the House Majority Ldr, not in the Senate. And, you may have noticed he's yet to be found with enough of anything against him to have gone to trial over anything. Yeah. And, the guy so determined to take him out? Democrat Chris Bell? He's just lost another election here last night. This time for State Senate. Yeah. There's your Democrat lawyer/lobbyist. Classless and a loser.

Ducky's here said...

Yes, my bad Karen. Tom had a distinguished career in the House telling that last prize from Chicago, Dennis Hastert (R - Wrestling coach) which bills to bring up for a vote.

Actually, I'm so proud of New England. Not a single Republican in the House, even New Hampshire got wise.

I wondered where the great Ducky had been. His perspective is certainly unique. I think criminals are criminals regardless of party affiliation. I think counting criminals is an exercise futility. For sake of argument, should we next start keeping track of severity of crimes? The whole point is that the level of criminal politicians surpasses most any other profession in this country. And these are the people we gave our trust. I've noticed a rising level of cynicism in my students. That's a shame. They've seen nothing but corruption in politicians in their lives beginning with Clinton. Maybe we ought to take the longer view because this state of affairs is definitely having a negative effect on our youth.

Z said...

Law and Order "...beginning with Clinton" But, of course, the Left blames the Right for being upset and slamming him for his terrible character. Character doesn't seem to matter to the Left somehow.

THIS is the problem. THIS is what our kids are seeing and absorbing.

Funny, I volunteer teach 2 music classes at a religious preschool one morning a week and, literally, every time I get a little snarky with a 3 or 4 year old who's suddenly started talking in the middle of something I'm saying or otherwise misbehaves, I come down on them a bit; do you know EVERY SINGLE TIME I've done that THAT particular child's gone out of his or her way to tackle me with hugs and kisses as I leave the room?

THEY WANT BOUNDARIES. THEY WANT RULES. THEY WANT TO KNOW YOU CARE.

THIS is what kids are missing and this is part of the cynicism, too.

HOPE is gone...we're killing hope and now we even have a president elect who's nothing but gloom and doom. It's a pres's job to know the bad and give a good face to it. THIS guy is NOTHING but negative...imagine where the cynicism level in our kids will go next year? How high can it go before there's no America? America meant HOPE all these years. NOt anymore.

I googled "Franken posed in diapers" and for some reason I got a couple hits, and Images had lots of hits. Don't know how to explain this. In any case, there's one convincing statement that the photo is a fake, showing the original photo.

highboy said...

Perhaps Ducky can explain why states with the highest budget deficits (like CA) and the areas with the highest rates of overall crime are all blue cities in blue states. Perhaps Ducky can explain why those same areas also have the highest poverty, homelessness, and crime per capita. Must be very proud of those Democrat strongholds.

highboy said...

Its also telling that the Democrat hero president of the 90s is a lying sex offender who committed perjury, and why the hero of New England is a senator who lets his mistress drown in the river.

Z said...

Thanks, CJ. I did Google it and got nothing, but I did not use the word POSED and I've never heard it's fake..that's odd.

Highboy, I have clicked on your screen name and you don't seem to have a blog...am I missing something? I'm so glad you come by!
And, OH, do you make an EXCELLENT point.

highboy said...

Z, not sure why it doesn't say I have a blog. I'm Tim from http:www.prolifevoice.wordpress.com

Z said...

Highboy....I suddenly took stupid...forgive me.
I LOVE your prolife blog...I don't know WHAT I was thinking! Sorry and thanks.

Ducky's here said...

Yeah highboy, Boston has a higher crime rate than Houston or New Orleans or Miami or Atlanta.

"High"boy, yeah you got that right.

highboy said...

Ducky: try responding to what was actually posted instead of inventing arguments to respond to in a vain attempt to make you look smarter. The top 10 cities with the highest crime rates are all blue cities in blue states, a verifiable fact. Not to mention the highest budget deficits belong to blue states, verifiable fact. Try again and get back to me.
