This from Major General (ret) Buckman:
My niece, Katelyn, stationed at Baluud , Iraq was assigned, with others of her detachment, to be escort/guard/ watcher for Martha Raddatz of ABC News as she covered John McCain's recent trip to Iraq . Katelyn and her Captain stood directly behind Raddatz as she queried GI's walking past. They kept count of the GI's and you should remember these numbers.
She asked 60 GI's who they planned to vote for in November. 54 said John McCain, 4 for Obama and 2 for Hillary. Katelyn called home and told her Mom and Dad to watch ABC news the next night because she was standing directly behind Raddatz and maybe they'd see her on TV.
Mom and Dad of course, called and emailed all the kinfolk to watch the newscast and maybe see Katelyn. Well, of course, we all watched and what we saw wasn't a glimpse of Katelyn, but got a hell'uva view of skewed news.
After a dissertation on McCain's trip and speech, ABC showed 5 GI's being asked by Raddatz how they were going to vote in November; 3 for Obama and 2 for Clinton . No mention of the 54 for McCain.
Z: NOW: Please check this SNOPES piece on the above. The veracity of this story is called 'undedetermined'....take a look and see for yourself. Who do we believe?

This is EXACTLY why I have decided that I will never, ever watch ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, MSNBC again, if I can't help it. And when they show sports, I do it under protest, but sometimes you don't have a choice. Even the sports results are pitiful, since the commentators are bare of any knowledge.
I always thought this country is the world's haven of freedom of speech. Not so, the communist mass media inhibit that - last seen to this extent under Stalin and Honnecker (East Germany).
When are we waking up? Communist press covering up for Marxist candidate.
Bravo. Next we know is that we have Fidel and Hugo as brothers. Pfui.
Mr.Z
Yep.
I remember being taught the definition of "objective" in the eighth grade...how all reporters and journalists were objective. "To report the facts as they are."
uh huh.
Like I said, I get my news from the internet.
I remember when I used to visit the States I used to envy you so much for your unbiased media (compared to ours). I guess it's beginning to go rotten just like ours. Even our moderate press got taken over by a leftist editor just before our last election and every one of the news sources backed our current leftist Prime Minister. They've got the power tool unfortunately and they're not ashamed to inflict maximum damage.
"Who do we believe?"
Definitely not the ABC. These days, anything that comes from the media has to be taken with a spoon of salt. The whole truth and nothing but the truth is not always in the media.
I'm surprised they'd skew it that far, because most people would know by now that the armed forces would favor a Conservative and for good reason.
I certainly don't believe ABC news! Like anonomous, I don't watch any of the news stations except Fox News and sometimes even they don't get it right. Most of my news also comes from the internet.
For the most part journalism in this country has gone to hell in a handbasket. There's no accountability in it any more, not on television and certainly not in most newspapers. To even call them "news"papers requires a stretch of the imagination.
I believe the e-mail.
Pinky,
The reporters are being "objective". Their objective being to convince everyone to vote for democrats.
Oooooh, on second thought, perhaps that's a "secondary" definition of objective....
Wow, isn't that just completely disgusting! I am sending your post to an acquaintance locally. It has even greater significance given the "Snopes" assessment.
Awhile back, when Heidianne wrote her exceptionally well researched article on the question of Obama's Muslim background, I sent it to a large number of local Conservatives with whom I regularly share such gems. One of the recipients immediately responded with some sarcasm and a link to "Snopes" to "disprove" Heidianne's allegations. I had already firstly explored Snopes before ever forwarding Heidianne's post... Predictably, it had also gone to lengths to try to take air from the sails of the Muzzie question. However, it only offered up conjecture and vagueries to dispute Heidianne's findings. It was weak and very inconclusive, conveniently ignoring most of the other findings. I had to point out to my friend that the Snopes assessment was quite obviously biased with only agenda based opinion... very misleading. Who "fact checks" Snopes besides Snopes?
So I guess it would be a great time to target a mass e-mail campaign to Martha for her responding excuses for such "reporting", eh? Is someone like Michelle Malkin or Laura Ingraham aware of this?
Great job, Z!
Wait, you believe the MSM? The same MSM that is bleeding readers, viewers and ad revenue at an unprecedented rate? THAT MSM?

I rarely watch TV news. Even Fox has gone off the deep end as far as I'm concerned. O'Rielley's objective is to get as many cute young ladies on his show as possible. I can learn more in 10 minutes by making my usual blog rounds than watching a 24 hour news channel all day. Slow car chases and puff pieces, all the networks are a waste of electricity.
All I can say to this is
GEEEEEEEEEEEEESH!!!
FT
By the way in my never humble opinion–––with the exceptions of Brit Hume and Neal Cavuto
FOX SUX!!!

Shocking, just shocking. Maybe she did the LA Times poll that showed Osama ahead of McCain by 15 points?
I have a friend who worked in the video /news area of the military, years ago.
He told me back during Dessert Storm that this type of thing was done all the time.
A director or producer does the news, comes in with whatever agenda and "makes it" .
So, I have long ceased watching much on television and instead go online for most of my information.
I want information, not agendas and propaganda.

Hear, hear, WVDOTTR!

Soon there will be reports that the majority of the military are really antiwar protestors.
The unashamed level of doublethink these days is a testament to leftwing propaganda.
There have already been BS studies showing that the majority of US troops are against the war in Iraq.
Yet the truth is really revealed by the high retention rate of US troops that have been maintained during the duration of the war. The 4th of July saw a huge reenlistment ceremony hosted by Gen. Petraeus.
This is a free country and Americans are free to propagandize on our enemies' behalf. I support their right. It means that we are truly everything the Constitution made our country out to be. After 200 years our form of government has never been better. The more we tolerate the better we are.
However, its up to the people to make a better country. It is our responsibility to make it so. We have freedom, now we have to uphold our values and support our troops who are engaged in a bitter battle against the worst enemies we have ever known.
Boy, FreedomNow, I'm more worried than you are. I think the enemy's (inside and out) are using our constitution AGAINST us these days. And so long as we protect our freedoms, I don't see way out from LOSING this country in a few years.
i'm serious. We won't recognize it..it'll be socialist in 3 years if Obama's elected...and McCain's not great shakes, either!!??
You can't find more responsible bloggers than these and they all say the email about Mccain is pure fiction:
