MOSAB HASSAN YOUSEF's deportation has been DROPPED
And, totally off topic, but please keep footballer Randall Cunningham and his family in your prayers.
Russians spying on US, and everybody's HAPPY?
Okay, hold on a minute; We've arrested 11 people we've been watching for a very long time and they've been arrested for SPYING ON US. And Russia says that's okay, they'll still like US?
Am I missing something? The article says "The suspects were accused of seeking information on issues ranging from nuclear weapons research to the global gold market and CIA job applicants, according to U.S. prosecutors." Shouldn't WE be a little angry at RUSSIA?!
And THEN, WE are saying this!: "Washington has also signaled it does not want the arrests to dent the upswing in relations.....We're moving toward a more trusting relationship," State Department official Philip Gordon said on Tuesday. "We're beyond the Cold War." (Ya THINK? well, I want good relations with Russia, too, but do you think if we were caught spying on them they'd look at this as a "move toward a more trusting relationship?"!! I don't! :-)
Hey, Mr. Gordon......don't look now, but it looks like we're right back IN the Cold War!? But, we don't mind? I'll just bet our intelligence people working on this mind! They're spying on us re nuclear weapons research, the global gold market and CIA JOB APPLICANTS, according to our prosecutors, but a State Department official says "That's okay!" HUH?

Is this OBJECTIVITY at the Washington Post?!! Read the END!
For example:
1) Why did the Washington Post hire someone with uncontrollable disdain for conservatives and Republicans to cover conservatives and Republicans?
When Weigel was hired, the Washington Post issued a press release saying that he had “quite a following and reputation chronicling the conservative movement” and that the paper looked forward to adding his “strong reportorial voice, and insights into the right, to our political coverage, primarily online, as we ramp up for the 2010 midterms.”
Strong’s article today clearly indicates that Weigel was hired to cover a subject he did not respect. Today’s piece also shows that Weigel has the mindset of a profane eighth grader when dealing with political issues. For example, Weigel repeatedly cast Republicans and conservatives as the bad guys, referring to them as “ratfuckers.”
2) How many reporters and editors at the Washington Post were aware of Weigel’s comments on JournoList?
JournoList, the listserv on which Weigel repeatedly insulted conservatives and Republicans, reportedly has more than 400 members. How many of those members currently work for the Washington Post? We know for certain that the listserv was founded by another Washington Post contributor, Ezra Klein. Why did Klein and other JournoList contributors who work for the Washington Post stand by and allow their newspaper’s readers to be conned into thinking that Weigel was an objective reporter with no axe to grind when they knew for a fact that wasn’t true?
3) How does the Washington Post plan on dealing with this issue? Weigel has resigned but the Post still owes its readers an explanation.
When the story about Weigel’s comments about Matt Drudge first appeared on Fishbowl DC, Weigel’s bosses at the Washington Post didn’t seem to think it was a big deal. According to POLITICO, one Washington Post editor said:
Dave’s apology to readers reflects he understands, in calmer hindsight, the need to exercise good judgment at all times and of not throwing stones, especially when operating from inside an echo-filled glass house that is modern-day digital journalism …Time to move on.
After today’s reporting by TheDC, does the Washington Post still think this is no big deal? The newspaper’s treatment of the issue so far suggests that conservatives and Republicans have zero reason to trust the newspaper’s reporting going forward.
4) What do all the other so-called objective journalists who are members of JournoList have to say? How can they claim any loose association with the concepts of truth and fairness as they stood by and participated in this fraud?
Few members of JournoList have commented publicly on Weigel to date. One of the few who has anonymously defended him to POLITICO:
Whoever broke the confidentiality of the list obviously has no respect for some pretty basic journalistic norms. But I can’t talk about it because it’s supposed to be confidential. Whoever leaked that is obviously extremely jealous of the exceptional work that Dave is doing for the Post, and whatever Dave said should be viewed in that light.
Excuse me? The Washington Post holds out Weigel as their reporter of choice to cover conservatives and Republicans. Weigel spends all his time going to conservative and Republican events and claiming to be an objective reporter there to cover them fairly. In between these events Weigel goes online and vents on JournoList to 400 other journalists — many who claim to be of the “objective” variety — about just how much he hates those “ratfucker” (his word) conservatives and Republicans. All of the other journalists in the know about this fraud just sit tight and let the fraud continue. Are these the “basic journalistic norms” that those on JournoList are upholding? The reporters on JournoList owe their readers an explanation. End of Story. (Z: sorry for the bad language...it's all direct quotes, of course)
Z: By the way.. Time Mag wrote this about the situation "Hopefully, his resignation will give the paper a chance to start over again, this time with someone who approaches the conservative beat with slightly more curiosity and critical enthusiasm for the subject." Apparently, they feel that the left doesn't deserve any 'curiosity or critical enthusiasm' but the Right sure does! You can't make this stuff up!
YOU CAN"T MAKE THIS UP! I was just about to publish this post, which I'd written on the 26th, and heard that David Weigel has a NEW GIG............AT MSNBC, that bastion of fairness and honesty! You can't make this up....... I thank the blogger angels for their help :-)

"Negrophilia?" What IS that? And why does it matter?
What Is "Negrophilia" and Why Does It Matter?
By Sylvia Thompson | Published 06/25/2010 | Unrated
(Sylvia Thompson is a black conservative writer whose aim is to counter the liberal spin on issues pertaining to race and culture. She is a copy editor by trade currently residing in Tennessee.) BOOK REVIEW: I recently finished reading the book "Negrophilia: From Slave Block to Pedestal--America's Racial Obsession," by Erik Rush, a black American author whose articles sometimes appear on ChronWatch. I thought it worth sharing what this term means in the context of what is happening in If I may paraphrase, the condition of negrophilia, spawned from political correctness (PC), is the irrational state of refusing to see evil in some blacks and attributing to all blacks a mythical “holiness*.” Sort of a twisted reasoning that blacks can do no wrong because they have suffered so much. Never mind that other races and groups have suffered as much or more, whites (even the sane ones) have been so indoctrinated through PC that they can’t see the idiocy in this thinking. That is deadly. Obama has tried as best he can to put obstacles in the way of efforts to protect the Gulf coastline from the oil spill. He literally denied state officials the resources that they needed and requested. Governor Bobby Jindal of Why then would conservative leaders, such as Newt Gingrich, still be attributing the abysmal responses on Obama’s part to “incompetence.” Any right-minded person can see that these actions are by design. They are to destroy the oil industry and eventually the nation. Why can’t a man as intelligent as Gingrich grasp this fact? I think negrophilia fits here. Gingrich can’t bring himself to admit that Obama is an evil, disturbed man, because Obama is half-black. Obama and his sycophants posed a six-month drilling moratorium until they can determine how to prevent another spill of this magnitude. Newsflash: As long as humans run an endeavor, there will always be accidents and mishaps. The evil in this move is glaring. Thousands of Americans will lose their jobs. If they do receive the shakedown money stolen from British Petroleum (BP), what are they to do after six months? The jobs won’t be there; they will go to foreign countries. These people are self-sufficient workers; welfare does not work for them. Why won’t the Republican conservative leadership get behind the people taking legal action against Obama on this issue? Why aren’t they announcing broadly that the behavior is not against BP but against average Americans? What besides a disorder such as negrophilia can possibly account for this craven weakness in the opponents of Barack Obama? Governor Jan Brewer and the citizens of Further, why is there not an actionable response to Obama’s disrespectful treatment of Governor Brewer? He simply ignored her as she pleaded for assistance. What white president could get away with that kind of crap? Not one. Yet the fear of Obama’s blackness, the disorder of negrophilia in play, ensured that the airwaves would be silent of people who could actually do something about the behavior: political leaders. I am livid witnessing the degree of spinelessness in face of such unprecedented lawlessness from Obama. It’s enough to make a sane person do something drastic--like join a militia. And more, a general and his staff have made statements that reflect their true disgust toward a weak, pansy of a commander-in-chief, who despises them all. Obama has done more to cripple the American military than any enemy past or present could ever have hoped to accomplish. He is set on corrupting unit cohesion with open homosexual behavior in the ranks; he shows disdain for the fighting forces by rubbing his affinity for Muslims in their face, when Muslim Islamists are the very people they are fighting; and he despises the Judeo-Christian faith to which the majority of the soldiers adhere. That all Americans who oppose this miscreant Barack Obama are not standing before the White House gates with pitchforks and flaming torches (or the 21stt Century equivalents) is a sickening travesty. How much more will Americans allow this despicable person to do before they get in his face and say “No More!”? Sadly, the only outcome that I can foresee (barring a real game changer at the polls in November 2010) is that the vast majority of Americans--the non-elites, the non-talking heads, and particularly, those who are not afflicted with negrophilia--will revolt. Whichever side wins that confrontation, Americans or Obama and the left, will face the task of rebuilding the nation, either in the image that the Founders relying on Judeo-Christian principles intended or the image that Obama and the left intend. If the left wins, there will be no What do you think of the ideas presented in the book review? It's pretty 'hot' stuff. I'm curious. Pictures are Astronaut Higgenbotham, Lena Horne, Booker T Washington, and Thomas Sowell.......bright, independent, talented and self-made. "Out and PROUD" (of WHAT?)
"As gay pride parades take place worldwide, here's a look at gay stars celebrating who they are" Don't look now, but I think those stars were just attending various celeb nights and didn't have GAY written on their foreheads.....why's Yahoo feel the need?
I keep thinking that real equality is when everyone just lives their lives and gets on with it...WHY DO WE NEED TO TELL anything about ourselves? Is it really so important to highlight them as if they're very special stars?, or some creepy enigma like Yahoo paints them this way? I wonder.
What do you think? And, do you think parades with people attired like those in the image HELP the gay cause?

Clinton fondles Couric!? (ya, well it's a cheap title but it got your attention, right?) :-)
Sunday Faith Blog.....
1. Your thumb is nearest you. So begin your prayers by praying for those closest to you They are the easiest to remember. To pray for our loved ones is, as C. S. Lewis once said, a 'sweet duty.'
2. The next finger is the pointing finger. Pray for those who teach, instruct and heal. This includes teachers, doctors, and ministers. They need support and wisdom in pointing others in the right direction. Keep them in your prayers.
3. The next finger is the tallest finger. It reminds us of our leaders. Pray for the president, leaders in business and industry, and administrators. These people shape our nation and guide public opinion. They need God's guidance.
4. The fourth finger is our ring finger. Surprising to many is the fact that this is our weakest finger, as any piano teacher will testify. It should remind us to pray for those who are weak, in trouble or in pain. They need your prayers day and nig ht. You cannot pray too much for them.
5. And lastly comes our little finger - the smallest finger of all which is where we should place ourselves in relation to God and others. As the Bible says, 'The least shall be the greatest among you.' Your pinkie should remind you to pray for yourself. By the time you have prayed for the other four groups, your own needs will be put into proper perspective and you will be able to pray for yourself more effectively.
"Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you." Jeremiah 29:12
I just got THIS LINK, which I think some of you Christians will want to see and send along to others....it's about praying for our nation and it fit my post so well that I had to add it here....plus, it has Andrea Bocelli singing THE LORD'S PRAYER...very nice. Please pray for America.
thanks for the 5 fingers of prayer, Mom xxxx

Obama commands "no discord"?
"I am going to be insisting on a unity of purpose on the part of all branches of the U.S. government," the president said. "Our team is going to be moving forward in synch."
Obama said he does not anticipate further firings beyond Gen. Stanley McChrystal, the top war commander hired a year ago to turn around a war then sliding into quagmire. He was fired Wednesday for sniping at civilian war bosses in a magazine article. (Z: 'civilian war bosses'?)
"I'm paying very close attention," Obama said of his war council. "And I will be insisting on extraordinary performance moving forward." (Z: WHAT?)
That struck me as odd........Shouldn't Petraeus be suggesting things which might not be in Obama's expertise? Maybe being on the ground gives a clearer view than from the Ivory Tower? It gets scarier:
"When he gets on the ground, he will assess the situation for himself, and at some point he will make recommendations to the president," Defense Sec Robert Gates said. "At the end of the day, the president will decide whether changes are to be made in the strategy."
I hope that that UNITY doesn't mean OBAMA'S WAY OR THE HIGHWAY (like it does when he's displaying his understanding of what 'bipartisanship' means)...because I'm thinking that as little as I trust Sec Gates (less and less every day), I do trust Petraeus to carefully observe conditions on the ground, to know what's best, and make recommendations that might differ from how Obama feels......that might not be UNITY but it sounds like wisdom to me. We have a president who never served, never ran a company, and thinks wars can be won when you tell your enemy when you're giving up!
God Bless America and our soldiers............PLEASE. By the way, did anybody see Brent Bozell on TV Thursday evening showing video after video of leftist media types like Blitzer and Gregory, etc., call Obama's moves re McChrystal and Petraeus "Brilliant"? The next day, they were saying "He couldn't have done anything else...he really had no choice." Extremely brilliant.

Hillary was fired............
Some of you (including me) find FreeRepublic's news questionable......but this information was there and was sent to me by a friend. I Googled it and, sure enough, it's on other sites....nothing in the mainstream media, of course. Is it very important? Probably not, in the scheme of things, but this guy sure found the character of our Secretary of State troubling. (Of course, I'm SURE the mainstream media will get around to covering it...this information came out in 2008......just GIVE THEM TIME :-)
American Thinker had it this year....oh, and Drudge carried it in 2008, and World Net Daily covered it, too. "Darned those truthful Conservative sites", huh? Where is the MAINSTREAM MEDIA?
It's so easy to dismiss it with "She was young!" but the allegations are pretty tough, aren't they? I like to think she's changed, but I blogged this because I think character is so important and it worries me that she showed such a lack of it...

McChrystal is GONE
What I am hearing is that McChrystal was not asked into the Strategy Meeting and that he may not return to Afghanistan, that they might have his things packed up and sent to his home. I'd have hoped that he would be involved in a strategy meeting for which he'd have the most pertinent information....just for background information, where things stand today, etc.
I'd just like to say "Thank GOD he didn't vote Republican"...this story's big enough without having the media pile on Republicans for that, too. By the way, this is a guy who apparently saw his family 30 days a year for the last 9 years.
General Petraeus is taking over. (Congratulations to my commenter, 'Major!')
By the way...HERE is the Rolling Stone story...Please read it....you'll find that McChrystal didn't like attending French military dinners and that his colleague jokingly said "Bite Me" about Biden...... He never connected with obama, though he voted for him, and McChrystal was dismayed that Obama'd taken 3 months during a war to re-evaluate the situation and to evaluate McChrystal's request for more troops. Let me know if you find anything more heinous than those points. Other than that, Afghanistan's not going well; Let's hope Petraeus can help the situation. And let's wish McChrystal peace of mind and thank him for his many years in the service. I don't know quite what happens to him next....if he gets retirement for having resigned or not...Anybody know?

ANCHOR BABY HOTELS? ........
A New York hotel is staking its claim to have invented a new hospitality niche – birth tourism. The Marmara Manhattan offers “an exclusive package for new mothers that wish to give birth in the USA”, with the additional bonus of the newborn child gaining US citizenship.
The hotel, which is part of the Turkish hospitality chain, exploits the 14th amendment to the US constitution, which states that all children born on American soil “are citizens of the United States and of the state wherein they reside”.
The Marmara Manhattan, which is located in New York’s Upper East Side, told The Times: “What we offer is simply a one-bedroom suite accommodation for $5,100, plus taxes, for a month, with airport transfer, baby cradle and a gift set for the mother.” There are also medical fees of about £20,500.
However the price is a cheap and easy one to pay for US citizenship. Many will eventually use the newborn - known as an “anchor baby” - as a stepping stone for the immigration of extended family. The hotel has so far sold 15 of the packages.
Got any thoughts? I can't put mine in print.

Obama v Petreus....who do you feel more comfortable with?
WASHINGTON – The Obama administration is reaffirming its pledge to begin pulling U.S. Toops out of Afghanistan next summer.
But the Pentagon and the White House are still saying different things about how many troops will leave — and when.
President Barack Obama's Chief of Staff tells ABC's "This Week" that the July 2011 date to begin withdrawal is firm. Emanuel isn't disputing quoted remarks from Vice President Joe Biden that "a whole lot" of troops would leave.*
Gen. David Petreus who oversees the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, told Congress last week that he'd recommend putting off the withdrawal if need be. He said security conditions and the Afghan government have to be ready to handle a U.S. drawdown.
Z: Imagine if any country in the history of the world had told its enemy when it was leaving? The experts on the ground believe this isn't a good idea, of course. But, apparently, our White House Commander in Chief knows better.
Do you think we should tell the people of Afghanistan "a whole lot" of troops will be leaving (I wonder if Biden could have picked different words than that?) Is it a good idea to tell our enemies ANYTHING about our tactics, as if we're giving tips to our enemy? We can't be there forever, God forbid, nobody wants that, but it's seems so counter intuitive to tell enemy factions our exit plan, dates, numbers (if "whole lot" means anything to anybody), it sends such a message to Afghanistan that America doesn't trust the input of our military commanders, doesn't it? But, OBAMA KNOWS better. REALLY? How?
What do you think? Is this for Obama's political situation at home....playing to the very far left, the "war is never the answer... he TOLD us we'd be leaving Afghanistan!" gang? Because, of course, nobody ever tells an enemy when he's leaving. A fifth grader knows what happens then.
* Robert Gates is getting me more and more nervous. He said this morning that he didn't think Biden had said this...that it was only printed somewhere but HE hadn't heard him and he couldn't imagine he had. Robert Gates has become a HACK. Just what we need in a Secretary of Defense.

Kagan....Gays, the Military and...Saudi Arabia?
The transcript of what he said is HERE....and includes this:
And now, information has come to light suggesting Ms. Kagan may have been even less morally principled in her approach than previously thought. Around the same time Ms. Kagan was campaigning to exclude military recruiters—citing what she saw as the evils of Don’t Ask Don’t Tell—Harvard University accepted $20 million from a member of the Saudi Royal family to establish a center for Islamic Studies in his honor. A recent Obama State Department report concerning Saudi Arabia and Islamic Shari’a law noted that:
“Under Shari’a as interpreted in [Saudi Arabia] sexual activity between two persons of the same gender is punishable by death or flogging.”
So, do you think Ms Kagan is at least slightly hypocritical? She'll keep the military out of Harvard because she feels they're not fair to gays......but she'll take Saudi money to study Islam at Harvard (oh, happy day!), whose Shari'a laws punishes gay sex with death or flogging? Think anybody'll care, or is this just more of "We don't give a damn..........we're in charge and she's in."Thanks to Hot Air and Imp...

Barack is no fool
Rahm Emanuel cynically said, "You never want a crisis to go to waste." It is now becoming clear that the crisis he was referring to is Barack Obama's presidency.
Obama is no fool. He is not incompetent. To the contrary, he is brilliant. He knows exactly what he's doing. He is purposely overwhelming the U.S. economy to create systemic failure, economic crisis and social chaos -- thereby destroying capitalism and our country from within.
-- Universal health care. The health care bill had very little to do with health care. It had everything to do with unionizing millions of hospital and health care workers, as well as adding 15,000 to 20,000 new IRS agents (who will join government employee unions). Obama doesn't care that giving free health care to 30 million Americans will add trillions to the national debt. What he does care about is that it cements the dependence of those 30 million voters to Democrats and big government. Who but a socialist revolutionary would pass this reckless spending bill in the middle of a depression?
-- Cap and trade. Like health care legislation having nothing to do with health care, cap and trade has nothing to do with global warming. It has everything to do with redistribution of income, government control of the economy and a criminal payoff to Obama's biggest contributors. Those powerful and wealthy unions and contributors (like GE, which owns NBC, MSNBC and CNBC) can then be counted on to support everything Obama wants. They will kick-back hundreds of millions of dollars in contributions to Obama and the Democratic Party to keep them in power. The bonus is that all the new taxes on Americans with bigger cars, bigger homes and businesses helps Obama "spread the wealth around."
-- Make
-- Legalize 12 million illegal immigrants. Just giving these 12 million potential new citizens free health care alone could overwhelm the system and bankrupt
-- Stimulus and bailouts. Where did all that money go? It went to Democrat contributors, organizations (ACORN), and unions -- including billions of dollars to save or create jobs of government employees across the country. It went to save GM and Chrysler so that their employees could keep paying union dues. It went to AIG so that Goldman Sachs could be bailed out (after giving Obama almost $1 million in contributions). A staggering $125 billion went to teachers (thereby protecting their union dues). All those public employees will vote loyally Democrat to protect their bloated salaries and pensions that are bankrupting
-- Raise taxes on small business owners, high-income earners, and job creators. Put the entire burden on only the top 20 percent of taxpayers, redistribute the income, punish success, and reward those who did nothing to deserve it (except vote for Obama). Reagan wanted to dramatically cut taxes in order to starve the government. Obama wants to dramatically raise taxes to starve his political opposition.
With the acts outlined above, Obama and his regime have created a vast and rapidly expanding constituency of voters dependent on big government; a vast privileged class of public employees who work for big government; and a government dedicated to destroying capitalism and installing themselves as socialist rulers by overwhelming the system.
Add it up and you've got the perfect Marxist scheme -- all devised by my
college classmate Barack Obama using the Cloward and Piven Plan.Wayne Allyn Root was the 2008 Libertarian Party vice presidential nominee and serves on the Libertarian National Committee.

Rick Barber....
The White House SHAKEDOWN on BP?
Yahoo makes it sound like Barton's saying he's sorry to BP as if they did nothing wrong...maybe Yahoo didn't actually listen to him? I admire Rep. Barton. He says the White House HAS done a 'shakedown' on BP. He acknowledges that BP has done a terrible thing .... We all know that what happened is absolutely HORRIBLE for the coastline and for the folks who work and live on that coastline.
Please watch the video and tell me if the article characterizes Barton's words correctly, with no bias? And, is Rep Barton SO WRONG in suggesting the way the White House handled BP was a 'shakedown'? The thuggish language, the threats of $20 billion not being enough.....'and we'll come after you if it isn't' .......... Do you think the White House handled this professionally and with integrity or do you, too, feel dirty by association? It was a shakedown, in my opinion. I hate what happened, but the people aren't begging for retribution, the people on the coast are begging for oil drilling to continue; is this the best way the White House could have used for keeping relations at least doable between BP and those who will have to deal with BP on a daily basis when the immediate crisis is over?
I know...someone will comment that I must be HAPPY about the oil spill, I'm a Conservative after all, and who cares about the environment when big business must be saved!? That's the idiocy some will suggest. But, my point is to focus on Barton's words........and if you think the article conveys what he said. And, if you agree that it does sound like a shakedown.

Gay Boy Scouts...
Do you think the following quoted statement is the real reason? "The city of Philadelphia wants to end its $1-a-year lease to the local Boy Scouts chapter unless it rejects a Boy Scouts of America policy banning "avowed" gays. The city says the national rule violates a local law banning discrimination on sexual-orientation and other grounds."
I haven't much to say on this, except I think it stinks that they're being threatened financially for not allowing gay kids in their group. Do you think having gay kids ('gay kids'?) in the Boy Scouts would be a problem for the rest of the kids? Does the huge majority matter at all? And, if not, must they acquiesce because their attitudes are considered wrong by a few?......or maybe the gay kids might want to start a gay group of kids?
What do you think?

Iran's breaking Israel's blockade...
Iran is sending aid ships to blockaded Gaza, state radio said on Monday -- a move likely to be considered provocative by Israel which accuses Tehran of arming the Palestinian enclave's Islamist rulers, Hamas. One ship left port on Sunday and another will depart by Friday, loaded with food, construction material and toys, the report said. The boats would be part of international efforts to break Israel's isolation of the Gaza Strip. "Until the end of the Gaza blockade, Iran will continue to ship aid," said an official at Iran's Society for the Defence of the Palestinian Nation. While Israel has long suspected Iran, which rejects the Jewish state's right to exist, of supplying weapons to Hamas, Tehran says it only provides moral support to the group. Israeli troops two weeks ago boarded a flotilla of Turkish aid ships heading to Gaza on May 31 and killed nine pro-Palestinian activists, most of them Turks.
Cute little perfect storm, isn't it? Iran hides behind the word 'humanitarian' (after all, Iran does a lot of humanitarian work, right?!) and Israel looks bad for protecting itself.
What do YOU think is going to happen next? And how long do you think Israel will exist? And, do you think Iran would be trying this if who they called "The Cowboy" was still in charge here? Here is the last sentence, the very last if anybody kept reading...in the article linked about about Israel's flotilla probe:
The closure was tightened further the following year when the Islamist group, which has fired thousands of rockets and mortar rounds into Israel, seized power in Gaza.
Oh, MAN, thousands of rockets and mortar rounds were fired into Israel and Israel tries to stop that? Oh, man................."LET'S BLAME ISRAEL!" (as IF)
