The Armenian Genocide

Please NEVER FORGET.....1.5 million Armenians killed by the Turks.
Today is the Day of Remembrance......... a relative of mine built the Monument here in California...a very dear relative I'd rather not name, but who I loved very much.  God bless all who died and their families who never saw them again.

Yes Z, God bless them all. It seems Obama preferred not to use the word genocide. He is weak, and probably not interested in calling this what it was.

But we who know you, and have learned about this terrible ordeal, are not afraid to call it what it was. And yes, it was genocide.

Hi, Pris!
thankfully, not ALL Armenians died, but it was a huge percentage, that's for sure.

Some people think I should be militant on this and be fighting for something. I don't. Most people know about it and that's enough.

One good thing is that the EU's kept Turkey out of the EU largely because they haven't admitted the genocide. I figure that, if Europe survives somehow because Turkey wasn't admitted and muslims didn't SWARM over Europe as they will (no passports are needed between EU countries, don't forget), at least something good came out of the stench of the whole thing.

I'm surprised the Obama administration hasn't outlawed any mention of the Armenian genocide at the hands of the Turks.

A dark day in history, indeed . Seems it became a how to manual for other nations who went on to perform very similar actions.

There is evil in the world, but you know, a lot of Armenians did survive and went on to freedom and to share their talents and skills elsewhere.

Glad you are here.

SC..."glad you are here" Thanks, that's really nice of you.

SF...truly. Those pesky Christian Armenians standing in the way of muslim supremacy! :-)

not to downplay slavery but why is it we keep rehashing and throwing the race card around like a used soda can, when so many other groups had much more horrific fates?
God Bless those lost Z,such an awful thing for your people.
Slavery comes in many colors.

I wasn't going to tarnish the day by mentioning O's broken promise again but I see you already know.

I don't know! What're you talking about, Viburnum?
Is that what Pris is referring to about the word genocide, or?? Did Obama say something about the remembrance day?

"By the waters of Babylon we sat down and cried for you ... in"

Is that what those Armenian words say, V?? I don't read much Armenian, only a few letters and don't understand much , but until I was about 4, it was all I spoke.
That's a very beautiful sentiment...thanks.

Lisa... it was pretty awful. Mom's side was from Istanbul, so they didn't get hit as hard. Dad's father's side made it out just in time, but his grandmother lost her first husband and first child to the Turks. Obviously, I know MANY Armenians whose whole families were destroyed. it was AWFUL and the Turks pretty much say "Well, it didn't happen, but if it DID, they deserved it"

I'm still trying to figure out how women and children, a million or so, 'deserved it'.

I just learned that it was Kurds who moved right into Armenian homes when the people got thrown out and either murdered or had to start marching toward Syria, which my own grandmother did...at the age of 9 yrs old.

That is the quote, ending in Armenia.

Yes I was referring to O failing to call it by it's proper name...again. He had promised to do so when he was running.

V..thanks for that quote..really beautiful.

But, wait...are YOU telling ME Obama didn't tell the TRUTH ABOUT SOMETHING? (His lips were moving, right? :-)

I'd forgotten that, I have to admit... just another lie. And most Armenians are Democrats. Go figure.

From the ABC News link that Viburnum left:

On the fourth Armenian Remembrance Day of his presidency, President Obama has for the fourth time in a row broken his promise to the Armenian community to use the word “genocide” in describing what happened at the hands of the Turks roughly a century ago.

Obama doesn't want to offend Turkey. It's clear why. He's all about "reaching out" to Muslims, and the rest be damned.

And what a stunningly beautiful Memorial - that is.

I sent this email to my Armenian mother-in-law yesterday:

On Armenian Remembrance Day, Obama Again Avoids the Word ‘Genocide’ Despite Campaign Promise to Contrary"

Sorry that I tarnished the day, but I want others to know.

Sue, thank you..

AOW...ABC said Obama "broke a promise" ? HOLY cow.

Cube, it is what it is...the truth should be known about Obama.

Bob Dole was one of the only senators who really worked HARD to get the genocide recognized here...the doctor who saved his arm (the one that was almost severed) happened to be an Armenian surgeon and so Dole got to know him and the plight, etc.

Brooke,I hate to think so, but I think this IS all about islam. Can't tick them off, after all!
