Etheridge: Do you like the Obama agenda?

You've probably all seen this....he's apologized by now "it was a long day....almost sunset...".....Odd that Yahoo didn't make THIS one of their headlines, huh? Oh, that's right...he's a Democrat........We all have bad days, but after fourteen years in Congress......

You are quick Z!

What a great campaign commercial for his opponent! A gift to be sure.

This is what thinking you're above the law results in. Who the hell does this congressman think he is? He had no right whatsoever to touch this young man.

Oh, and now he's sorry? You bet he is, he got caught, and now he's on video!

Pris, I had this ready to go early this morning but had the other posts I found more important...I was ticked that FOX got this afterwards including the apology! You know how I love SCOOPS!!

FrogBurger's wife had sent it to me!!

Indeed....liberalism is a mental disorder. Find a Tea Party member who's attacked a liberal loon...and I'll marry your cow to atone for thinking I was making it with Rosie.

That's the left a la Staline and Ducky. But then we're the tea baggers who are violent. I'm glad this happened. Tired of the left having the monopoly of being the good guys. I'm reading about the French revolution right now and there's a little difference on how the king behaved early on and the current administration and Congress. It's absolutism that they're trying to impose. All of this for the sake of their wallet and nice benefits.

Well, FB, the mainstream media's not really carrying it because their attitude's that the Right's the violent bunch. They'll never learn. Neither will most of America.

Don't underestimate the power of the internet. This goes much faster than TV, especially when TV itself gets its news via the web.

You know if I were to imagine a mechanical or android lifeform, such as a 'Terminator', walking about a city street, I think he might act this way when confronted ...
"Who are you?"
"Who are you?"
"Who are you?"

What do you mean 'the mainstream media' isn't carrying it?
It's on most of the liberal sites. I saw it on Huffington.

Whether it is worth a slot on the nightly news is moot. It ain't going to bump the spill.

You don't read the leftist blogs anyway. So how do you know what they carry?

Ducky, you said "What do you mean 'the mainstream media' isn't carrying it?

ARE YOU KIDDING ME? You're finally admitting that the leftwing IS this media today? thanks, finally.
Believe it or not, I DO read the leftwing blogs at least twice or three times a week........

I meant network news: imagine if a Republican had done this, Ducky? Think NBC wouldn't have carried it!! Ya, RIGHT.

Will...good point. I mean, it IS odd to just walk up to somebody like that but the guy is a politician and most of them LOVE the spotlight. this guy was just in a bad mood (his seat's threatened in November, by the way) and let the kid have it...but, no excuse to touch him or his camera!!

FB...the power of the internet..big deal, it's like my blog; preaching mostly to the choir :-( (not that I don't love the choir, of course :-)

But, anyway, this is more about informing than condemning...the guy erred and it's about time that the left gets called on the errors and yes, I DO think it's important and dishonorable that the mainstream media IS NOT carrying it. Or not for more than a day.

Ducky, you're a guest here...Don't EVER tell me to stop whining again.

This is a pertinent story and your ignoring of the fact that this would have been made HUGE if he were a Republican is not a strawman, it's an important part of the story for anyone who cares about fairness.

Manhandling the kid was completely inappropriate. A while back, I watched a video of a similar (only scarier) incident taped at some sort of pro-Islam street fair.

But I do wonder why the interviewers didn't just identify themselves. I suppose they could have just been too surprised to think of that...

H, as I said "NO EXCUSE to touch him"...you're right, it's completely inappropriate. I mean, really, who HITS anybody, it's not the Wild West!

And ya, I remember that pushing around of videographers by muslims at some muslim street fair, too.
It does appear that the kid was just too thrown off to answer him, but I found that odd, too. Anyway, it's absolutely no excuse for touching the kid or even being surly to him. But, don't forget, the kid DID ask him about the Obama agenda and this guy's seat is apparently iffy now in NC!!! Maybe he's having second thoughts for following THE ONE, too?

Oh, I saw this-- unreal! What a schmuck, and he sounds retarded to boot.

The kids should have introduced themselves - names and school (if I heard right - it's a school project?) - when asked. When you accost someone on the street like that you should be prepared to identify yourself and state your business and not hunker down behind anonymity. But boy -- can I think of a more gracious way to ask! What a dunce.

Yep - the Mr. Spock neck grab would have been all over the evening news if, say, the congress critter had an "R" after his name.

Z said...

Ya, the kid should have introduced himself but you can hear a little nervousness in his voice and then the guy was attacking him! WEIRD reaction. Obviously, he was VERY uptight about something and did not want to talk about the Obama agenda!
Yes, they'd have nailed the Republican equivalent to this...

This make me weep for my country.

Watching this video, I counted at least eight opportunities for basic Krav Maga self-defense moves that would have had this Congressman breathing through a tube in his throat for the rest of his pain-filled life.

Yeah, conventionally it makes the Congressman look bad, but still, the guy let himself get manhandled by an old ass man. Pathetic.

IMO two things are at play.

1. I think he's drunk. Either than or he's always a slurring retard.

2. Two, he DOES support the Obama agenda and knows his political days in DC are numbered

Ever wonder what the media reaction would be if these kids looked less like Mormon missionaries and more like the black panther thugs who harassed voters in Penn (you know - the ones Eric Holder dismissed charges against)?

Watching this again made me mad... at the student.

They story should have ended with cops arresting the student for curb-stomping the top of the Congressman's head off at the jaw.
