The Gore Divorce

The Gores are splitting up...that's pretty surprising and very sad.
"The Gores were telling friends they "grew apart" after 40 years of marriage and there was no affair involved, according to two longtime close associates and family friends, who spoke on the condition of anonymity." Very sad. I'll never quite understand the 'growing apart' thing after that many years, but I certainly can't judge having only reached the joy of half those years with my really wonderful man.

It's because there was no global warming in the bedroom but rather global cooling.
Ah! Less CO2 emission in the new big house.

Oh, FB, I think that gas bag had plenty of emissions!

Ducky, you're probably right...
you think they'll have an amazing reuniting soon!?

Oh you know how it goes. Tipper got tired of Al Gore listening to music not approved for Wal-Mart customers, and he threatened to make her pay for the carbon offsets their electric bill would have under his legislative agenda.

It got ugly after that, when Tipper brought up that he couldn't even win his home state in the 2000 election and mocking him with "don't get snippy" SNL skit style.

We will be married 45 years the 13th, and I can't imagine life without him. I feel sorry for the Gore's. They should grow old together, even if we don't approve of his politics.

I find it a little interesting that they said there was no affair involved.

Is this a case of preemptive control of the media (in other words there was and this is the typical denial) or just a sad commentary on our society in that this is the norm now?

Out of curiosity, z. Why aren't you posting on the spill and the hypocrisy of the right calling for government resolution and avoiding a discussion of this complete failure of the private sector.

My take is that the last thing the right wants to have in the spotlight is their crying for the nanny state to save them after a complete laissez-faire failure and disaster.

I'm surprised you've avoided this one.

Ducky Dumbo. As far as I am concerned waters and oceans don't belong to BP. So yes, BP failed, but the government is responsible of the country's ocean surface. (Sorry doesn't know the English word for "eaux territoriales"). So it's the gov's duty to help, even if BP has to foot the bill.

So there's no contradiction with small government.

Again, deepen your thinking instead of staying in high school

Re the Gores, it is a very sad thing, indeed, when any marriage fails.....it's got such ripple effects on children, grandchildren.......very sad.

Chuck, I don't know about affairs, but just picturing anybody with Al G... well, I can't even say it.
Blech

Ducky, you have the nerve to accuse me of not writing about the oil mess when what I could do is do another post on how the media says Obama "RUSHED" to the scene (apparently, your state-run leftist media now thinks nine days is a RUSH when Bush was at Katrina in 1 1/2 days and got nothing but crap...no, STILL gets nothing but crap...for it.)but am tired of hammering him for his incompetence.
Apparently, he really can't help and doesn't give a rat about what people think.

I had to laugh when Yahoo's headline this morning was how Obama has DEMANDED things improve and the article inside says he's given MARCHING ORDERS to those who should be paying attention to the spill....finally. I guess the media wants to make him look almost like Bush if they can...taking charge.
I mean, your comment is so silly you probably still blame Bush for Katrina tho your media never told you that the laws says a president can't go in before the State tells him to.
By the way, I personally think Obama's got a bit of an undeserved bad rap during this mess because how the heck can government fix this? It has to be BP or other experts, not HIS ADMINISTRATION. The only thing I really blame THEM for is another thing you're not hearing much, that his admin let BP slide on environmental studies and prevention ....yup. But, you get a lot for donating seventy thou to a campaign, I guess.

Your silly mistake is thinking that we are all as monolithic in our thinking as the left is...no, I don't think gov't should never get involved and I don't believe free market always is the best solution. I've blogged representing those opinions, too, but what do you care, it doesn't support your close-minded thinking.

Well Froggy, what has become very clear is that at the pressure of that depth there is no reliable method to stop the blow out. They are all running blind. Very little anyone can do.

Now, there could be strict regulation, something there hasn't been for decades. Does this event indicate the only reliable safeguard is to simultaneously drill a relief well.

But once again government has been nothing but a rubber stamp and hand maiden to private industry. That's the Randoid way and this one makes you look bad.

"But once again government has been nothing but a rubber stamp and hand maiden to private industry. That's the Randoid way and this one makes you look bad."

That's one compared to all the millions of people your collectivist thinking has killed since 1917.

If the gov had to run oil extraction, I would be more worried, especially when I see the poor quality of public infrastructures in the US.

So I don't feel too bad. But you should.

Again your brain is having a hard time seeing differences. Something that you learn in first grade. You know with those cute rabbits hiding in books.

Not even high school then?

FrogBurger said...

That reminds me of Tchernobyl and how nuclear energy ran by a totalitarian regime you like so much with your "democractic socialism" worked so well.

Ducky you're a fool. Maybe it's time for you to use some Randt's objectivism to be more objective with yourself.

You need it big time. That's partly what being an adult is about.

Tipper ought to get some kind of Miraculous Powers of Endurance Award for staying with that fatuous creep as long as she did.

I'm sure their marriage has been dead for a long time. Very probably neither one could tolerate the lurking stench of death anymore.

Staying married has never been an antidote for a toxic relationship. There is no virtue whatsoever in living a lie.

Tipper has been a non-presence for a long time. I guess she got tired of being a nonentity while El Fatuoso was out emitting toxic fumes from his orifice.

Nice straw man, froggy. Speaking of 1917 and the deaths, have you capitalists taken responsibility for World War I and the catastrophe brought on by the fall of the gold standard and the ensuing deaths in WW II. Few skeletons in your closet. Interesting that 1917 would not have been possible without the crisis of imperialism and the gold standard in the capitalist west.

Now Chernobyl, how close did we come at Detroit Fermi or Three Mile Island? Have we been lucky?

Unfortunately this little incident is going to make it much more difficult to trust the nuclear industry at a time when we need to.

Ducky is off the mark again. The reason the oil spill is as bad as it is is thanks to the crazy leftist thinking that we can not drill in easily accessible places, we have to go a mile deep. Environmental idiots have created a dangerous scenario. We kowtow to countries who hate us, ship oil on tankers across the oceans, and drill a mile deep in one of the areas most prone to hurricanes. Of course accidents happen, but get it into perspective, every year spills from wells and tankers is more than 10 times what has spilled in the Gulf. The destruction of wells in the Persian Gulf in 1991 was more than 20 times what has spilled.
Time to grow up and look at facts. Drill here, drill now. and while we are at it, more nuclear power!

Once again, Ducky demonstrates why Marx's knee-slapper "the history of all hitherto existing society is the history of class struggles" has more to do with the leftist inability to stay awake in history class than any sociological analysis.

For your education, Ducky, World War I began as aftershock of the Franco-Prussian War of the 1870s, which in turn was an aftershock of the Napoleonic Wars, which were the proto-fascist product of your fellow left-wing terrorists under Robespierre in the French Revolution. World War II began with the left-wing labor activists under Hitler's Nazi Party attributing Germany's loss in World War I to betrayal by "Jewish international bankers" in that perennial anti-Semitic "Judaism = Capitalism" slur championed by leftists since the days of Proudhon, Marx, and Bakunin.

Without leftism, we'd all be too busy doing our own pursuits of happiness without delusional deadbeats trying to sell us what they think is best at the point of an AK-47.

Sorry, Ducky. Leftists have monopolized terror and bloodshed since Robespierre's sophistry led to beheadings.

FrogBurger said...

Wow Ducky you need to go back to school. Beamish is right.

See I got to study French and European history for quite a long time when I went to school.

Did you also question why the Weimar Republic failed? Did you question Bismarck's policies and their role in that?

Oh did you question your Catholic friends and the Zentrum party in their support of the national *socialist* Hitler?

Nice one Ducky. Keep trying twisting your ignorance to make it sound like intelligence. Ain't working.

(((Thought Criminal))) said...

Just thought I'd turn up the neon lights on Ducky's plagiarism of his fellow leftist Hitler on blaming World War I on "capitalism."

Nice little table for Ducky about murders by collectivists

IT doesn't include genocide by Robespierre or obviously marxist fascists like Hitler, Mussolini or even the French socialist Pierre Laval.

Keep being proud Ducky. In the meantime, I'll take the blame for the oil spill.

Funny thing that hasn't been mentioned yet...and it's not for me to be a..ummm..."People mag conspiracy theorist". But I couldn't help but notice and remember that Al...just bought a multi million dollar house in...ahhhh..."Al and Tipper Gore have picked up a $8.875M luxury getaway in Montecito, CA; a swanky zip code that has attracted big name residents like Oprah Winfrey, Steve Martin, and Kirk Douglas. Records show that the approximately 6,500 sq. foot home boasts 6 bedrooms, 9 bathrooms, a large pool house, 6 fireplaces, wood framed french doors, and carved stone detailing throughout.

And all this was only around the 18th of May. So either Tipper objected to Al's new pad...or Al objected to Tippers objection over his infatuation with west coast...ahhhh.....hollywood loons that have always fawned over him as if he were James Cameron?

Rock on Al...Lindsey Lohan awaits you. Ya dirty ole redneck at heart.

That's a fascinating table, Froggy, and so well documented.

Is it from that dipstick Black Book which counts all the deaths during the civil war as attributable to the reds and also includes Russian war deaths as the responsibility of Communism.

Of course all would be well if Russia had just stayed under the czars, right Froggy? You know the line, "If the czar only knew about the starvation, he would end it."

Yeah, history is such a messy story but you seem to have it all broken down into absolute heroes and villains. Utterly naive.

But it's a nice chart, useless but the right needs things simple and without any complications. hey can't handle history's inevitable contradictions.

Ah, I knew it. Why don't you go back to cavemen and accuse me of my being for the neanderthal ages.

It proves one thing: you cannot defend your points with valid arguments.

And it also means you think the millions of people killed by the Soviet Union were necessary because of the Czar.

Shame of you Ducky. You're definitely from the socialist/marxist/fascist dictatorial breed. You have nothing to do in the United States of America.

I advise you to seek asylum in North Korea.

Sue..that's why being surprised that it happens at 40 years makes sense...you're so right "but I think the growing apart starts way before that" It does happen earlier, doesn't it...
I guess there are many reasons people hang on that long and THEN do this, but not all women have the finances to, or the courage...and not all men want to give up their finances...or have the courage :-)
And, of course, it appears that either somebody found out someone's fooling around OR they've been planning this for some time......they just bought a NINE MILLION DOLLAR home in Monterey, CA, on the cliffs over the ocean.......so, they did together, in May, and all was cool and someone was lying..OR it's been planned and that's the home one of them will move to SINGLE.

Matisse...bored is right :-)
