Japanese Relocation........an important forgotten history and some really good music!

What a well done story......a teacher with a great idea, the music that arose from that great idea, and a good bit of history, too...it's important to know about the 442nd Infantry Regiment during WWII, too.. You'll be glad you watched, I was.

Very well done story. Forgotten history right there. Always a plus.

Wow, this was really neat. I love swing music, and I might incorporate this story into my lessons when I teach WWII.

I'm glad you all enjoyed it, too.
Karen, that's a fantastic idea.
I LOVE swing music and thought the whole tie-in with WWII was very well done.

That's great. You might enjoy the novel "Hotel at the Corner of Bitter and Sweet"...a truly bittersweet story about a young Chinese boy who really likes a Japanese girl.

Bev, thanks...that sounds very sweet.
Have you read SNOW FALLING ON CEDAR? Excellent book about the camps and the people...really worth reading.

Nice! It's hard to imagine this is "forgotten" history since I've been close to people in the camps. What a nice bridge to the sansei. Thanks for sharing.

A very dear old Japanese boyfriend (and still a friend) of mine's parents lived through the camps....he sent me this video and I had to blog it, Deborah..plus, I adore swing music!
