IF you're a patriot......get Kleenex...not only for this beautiful video but for a warning on the contents of the Constitution...

any comments?
HERE is a link to Chuck Thinks Right, one of my favorite blogs. He has an article on a warning on the Constitution you won't want to miss. Again, make sure you have Kleenex, but these won't be touching tears, trust me.
(thanks, Chuck)

Back when I was in school in fifth grade (Christian school), we learned by heart ALL verses of our national anthem. Learning all those verses took up several class sessions, and those class sessions to learn our national anthem in full began on day one of the school year. Then, every single day of the year, we had opening exercises requiring us to sing our national anthem.

Believe it or not, public schools back then did the same.

Whatever happened to that important part of the school day?

Great to see that old patriotism again. The only time one should "reach across the isle" is to give the leftists a smack down.

Loved it. I was wondering how it sounded since I only read those stanzas.

Awesome beyond belief! It's been a very long time since I've heard that verse!

That Marine did it well! The moment the people realized they were supposed to be on their feet was awesome, too.

Where do you find these inspiring posts, Z? You have such a great ability to post THE most touching, heartwarming, righteous videos.

I'm overcome, tears are running down my cheeks.

We must save our country and its way of life.

Dear Lord, please help us all to strive as hard as we might, with your help and guidance, that we do all we can to save this precious land you've so blessed. May we be true and good soldiers in this cause. Thank you God for men such this retired marine and speaker Herman Cain. Amen

Brooke, that's when the tears flowed down my face, when people suddenly woke up and realized what was going on and STOOD UP with their hands on their hearts........MAN.

FairWitness...I get these mostly from friends via Email. Last night, I wasn't sure what I'd post at midnight for this morning and BAMMO, I get this and always think "this blog writes itself!" :-)
It's amazing isn't it....so pure and good and American.
Amen to your prayer.

This is just another example of those tea party people filling the world with hate and intolerance... yeah, right.

I admit I got a little misty watching this on FOX.

Z said...

They had it on FOX? GOOD.
I wonder if they had it on CNN or MSNBC? :-)
(maybe their ratings would rise, ya think?)

Even our anthem says we're a nation under God, a nation that trusts in God, so those who complain that that line was only added to our pledge in the *stupid* 50s can shut up.

Faith said...

I just listened again and cried again. "So conquer we must when our cause it is just, .... in God we trust" and I missed some of the rest. We need to learn this verse.

I wonder if Ducky is as good as far as singing the Internationale :)

Can you freakin' BELIEVE that???

Always On Watch said...

Z,
Always, those were better times.

Yes.

But there are still pockets of such patriotism -- private schools, homeschoolers, etc.

Z said...

Always, did you see that Constitution warning!??

That was beautiful Z! Thank you SO much for posting that short video. It gave me goosebumps.

How fitting that it was at a Tea party rally and Herman Cain was speaking. I'm a big fan of Herman's and I've spoken to him once in person and three times on the radio. I've joined the Draft Herman Cain in 2012 team. Watch him speak at the SRCL meeting:

I don't think there's ANYONE in politics today with Herman Cain's resume'.

Froggy, Billy Bragg's version is on my iPod touch.

My music library generally scares people but I like it.

Of course I'm still upset with Protestantism and a couple of writers like Lessing for establishing the primacy of the printed word over the image. It was all down hill after that.

elmers brother said...

why the fuss about the printed page duhkkky?

Ducky's here said...

Because it led to a long decline in visual arts where the image was tied to narrative

Z, what a great moment that was for those people there, how beautiful in every sense of the word.

I could feel what those people felt, and it's a longing for what we all fear we can lose. Tears are inevitable.

Ducky,

I find there is more imagery in words than you may think. Words can be very abstract. But in many cases, the printed word is far more concrete and finite than imagery.

I'd be careful with too much emphasis on imagery though, because it can and does lead to graven imagery.

That's what Muslims strongly believe and as I always say, LA, OT rooted Protestants are very much closer to Islamic beliefs than they are willing to admit.

But I was referring to the graphic image having no narrative content but being pure form.

We can make this is a teaching moment to all the homeschoolers out there. What a wonderful lesson.

//That's what Muslims strongly believe and as I always say, LA, OT rooted Protestants are very much closer to Islamic beliefs than they are willing to admit.//

Maybe back in the days of the Salem witch trials, but I see no Protestants chopping off hands, fingers, and heads for minor crimes and because someone does not believe as they do. And while it is true there are some twisted sects out there, the overwhelming majority of Protestants are not as bloodthirsty as you ar making them sound.

//But I was referring to the graphic image having no narrative content but being pure form.//

Understood. But I still maintain that imagery without explanation can lead to misunderstandings and in some cases outright falsehoods. I am not talking about the meaning of a Picasso here. But imagery that has a theological meaning assigned to it cannot be fully explained with each and every person coming up with his/her own meanings. There must be some kind of narrative to accompany it, if nothing else to get the conversation started.

Catholics who disregard the OT are likely to be whistling in the dark.

You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life. And they are the ones witnessing of Me, ~~~Jesus Christ

Did I see somewhere that the muslims developed caligraphy because images were not allowed and that was their way of being artsy with the written word?

Beautiful job, sir. Thank you for your service to our country. Thank you, Z, for posting this. I'd not have seen it otherwise. You are a patriot par excellence!

One of the interesting things I can't help but note are the average looking folks there. That is America. God Bless 'em. Actually, they are us!

Z said...

Pris, so true....who could NOT cry , and nobody's mentioned that man's wonderful pure voice, either!

Ducky, what's the point of this new mantra of yours comparing Islam to Christianity!....who cares? They don't believe in CHRIST, that's Christianity, not Allah, and not demanding nonbelievers be killed, and not demanding women cover themselves.

tio...in Saudi Arabia, the city squares have ENORMOUS metal tea pot sculptures because they can't recreate human images there..it's nuts! That's their "art".. ALL over the place...like Starbucks on steroids; coffee pots EVERYWHERE!

David, thanks so much....wasn't the whole video fabulous? I'm so glad you came by. God bless

I know you are careful about what you post, but I couldn't believe the warning on the constitution. I looked it up for myself to be sure. It's STILL unbelievable. they probably think it's a "living, breathing" document. Wow.

FrogBurger said...

A commie with an iPod touch. That makes you really sexy Ducky (sarcasm).

C'mon Elbro. You know leftists are infamous for their lack of reading comprehension skills.

I sort of wanted to comment on his voice but I don't feel I'm any judge. But yes, a pure clean voice right on pitch.
