THE MEDIA IS A SEWER

just in case you thought I'd gone soft on you and off politics, based on my last five or six blogs..............

THE MEDIA IS A SEWER

Written by Jack Kelly Wednesday, 10 September 2008

"We need to throw every last molecule of s**t we've got at McCain and Palin," said a poster at the Democratic Underground blog. "Demonize them. Dehumanize them."

Panic brings out the ugliness in ugly people. And ugliness of this sort is not restricted to moonbat bloggers.

"In the press galleries at the convention, journalists wrinkled their noses in disgust when Piper, Ms. Palin's youngest daughter, was filmed kitty-licking her baby brother's hair in place," wrote David Carr in the New York Times Sunday.

How dark must your soul be for you to be "disgusted" by a six-year-old girl who is behaving lovingly toward her baby brother?

News organizations have flooded Alaska with investigative reporters, hoping to dig up something -- anything -- bad to say about Sarah Palin.

As mayor of Wasilla in 1996, did she try to ban from the public library books that weren't published until 1998? The sewer that is the left-wing blogosphere pumps its bilge directly into the "mainstream" media. "

People say yes, she looks good in a bikini clutching an AK-47, but is she equipped to run the country?" asked CNN reporter Lola Ogunnaike, referring, as if it were true, to a crude photoshop on left wing blogs that imposed Ms. Palin's face on someone else's body.

Sarah Palin's approval rating in Alaska last month was 81.6 percent. That means for every person who doesn't like Ms. Palin, there are four who do. But reporters seem only to quote her political enemies, without identifying them as such.Media honchos say they're just doing due diligence."

Intense, independent scrutiny by the Times and the rest of the news media of Palin's background, character and record was inevitable and right," declared Clark Hoyt, the "public editor" of the New York Times. But their hypocrisy is so pronounced the hicks from the sticks have noticed. Among other things, the media moguls expect us to believe:

That inexperience in foreign policy is a fatal defect in the Republican candidate for vice president, but unimportant in the Democrat candidate for president.

That a DUI 22 years ago by the husband of the Republican candidate for vice president is scandalous, but the Democrat candidate for president's admission that he was snorting cocaine at about the same time is too insignificant to mention.

That the pregnancy of the teenage daughter of the Republican candidate for vice president is fair game, but the fact that a Democrat candidate for president (John Edwards) was conducting an extramarital affair while his wife was suffering from incurable cancer should not be reported out of respect for their privacy.

That it is scandalous that Sarah Palin, as mayor of Wasilla, sought earmarks for her town, but unworthy of mention that Barack Obama has steered earmarks to the hospital where his wife works, and to his major contributors.

That the pastors of the churches Sarah Palin attends in Wasilla and Juneau are worthy subjects of investigation, but that the pastor of the racist church Barack Obama attended in Chicago for more than 20 years should be off limits.

That the news media should probe every aspect of Sarah Palin's life, but remain remarkably incurious about Barack Obama's relationship with unrepentant domestic terrorist William Ayres.

The reason for the news media's panic is clear. The Sarah Palin phenomenon has turned this race around. John McCain is now leading or tied in all major polls. But the news media's flagrant bias may cost journalists more than a loss for the candidate they're stacking the deck for.

Last week the gossip magazine Us Weekly, owned by Obama supporter Jann Wenner, featured on its cover an unflattering photo of Ms. Palin (which, I imagine, took some effort to find), and the headline: "Babies, Lies, and Scandals."

The lies were what others were saying about Gov. Palin, Us senior editor admitted to Megyn Kelly (alas, no relation) of Fox News.

So a bottom feeding tabloid has smeared a Republican. What's news about that? The consequences. "Us Weekly...is said to have lost thousands of subscribers in just the first 24 hours following the printing of the issue," reported MSNBC entertainment writer Courtney Hazlett Friday. These are tough times for journalists.

Layoffs are the rule at newspapers throughout the land. Flagrant bias is likely to be bad for business for more than just Us Weekly.

Z: Could any of us have said it better than that? Bravo, Mr. Kelly.

I think some of these people would go rather go bankrupt than acknowledge political reality.

It's definitely Palin Derangement Syndrome that's broken out across the country.

If you already have Bush Derangement Syndrome, your chances of catching PDS is 99.9999% all but guaranteed.

I don't think I've ever seen a Presidential race key in on the Vice Presidential choice like this, and I've been around for 15 elections! She sure does have the demoncraps running scared! Even Dan Quayle and all his gaffes never got the limelight this much.

Vile comes to mind, but then I’ve come to expect that from the likes of Rosie O’Donnell and her ilk. “Well,” they argue, “look what the right did to the Obama family on the cover of Atlantic Magazine! And they’ve called him a Muslim, and they’ve ridiculed his Church, and … and … and …”

There are major differences, however, in what Obama brought on himself … and the liberal heyday associated with Sarah Palin’s nomination. I think it is fair to say that if Sarah’s husband stepped before national television cameras and said, “Finally after 47 years, I can say I’m proud to be an American,” then he would get the same treatment. If Sarah Palin’s preacher stood behind the pulpit … in a house of God, and said “God damn America,” then she too would deserve the revulsion most of us felt about Barack Obama who sat in that church for 20 years and participated in the racist, victimology that came from Jeremiah Wright. And we do know the truth about the intellectual capacity of people who claim (with a straight face) that white people invented HIV so that they could infect black people with it. I could go on, but you get my point.

These people really are all quite disgusting … but since the law won’t let us shoot them, I guess we’re stuck with them. After all, they do have a constitutional right to behave stupidly, and when you think about it … they probably can’t help it. Their parents probably raised them to be liberals.

My my, how powerful is the little woman? This woman could be very powerful. What really scares them, I think, is the frightful prospect that their great leftist dream is in peril.

If John McCain and Sarah Palin win this election, this woman could could turn the tide of left leaning afficionados back for years.

Sarah Palin is everything the left hates. She is as a cross to a vampire. If she has what it takes, she will represent the future of the Republican Party for years.

Senator McCain could not do that, mainly because of his age, and his propensity for engaging in compromises with liberals.

A lot remains to be seen, but, this is the first real hope we've had since Reagan, to celebrate real conservatism, and it's future. This election will illustrate how far down the road the left has come, or not.

Perhaps they stepped above the radar too soon, and, in so doing they've exposed their hand in broad daylight. And along came this woman seemingly from nowhere, and she shocked the opposition into numbed, non-thinking, screaming, panic.

The media is in full hysteria. So much so that magazines are losing subscriptions by the thousands, two newly appointed anchors for the NBC network were demoted, Oprah has inspired a boycott against her program, and the Democrat Presidential candidate is running against the opposition VP candidate.

While the media scrambles to save their Messiah, they are confirming their corruption every day. Objective journalism is taking it's last gasps as they have fallen om their swords.

While we were looking for that hero on a white horse, we never thought to look for a heroine on a moose.

I can still hardly believe that the tide has turned in our favor. Even the media finally getting their comeuppance. Just as we couldn't have dreamed we'd get a deliverer, let alone a lady deliverer from the North Country Fair, the left can't either and it exposed them in a way I never thought I'd see. Answered prayer. Has to be. But I'm still stunned and waiting. Can hardly believe it.

But on the subject of what we get from the media, all we got about the Russian invasion of Georgia was that it was unprovoked, right? Did anyone ever suggest that it was provoked? I don't follow politics the way most of you here do, but tonight I heard that Georgia moved first, timing it for the Olympics, an action to retake a city they consider to be theirs, and Russia retaliated. If this is what happened, why didn't we hear it? Or did we, only I missed it?

Wow, the media is really getting ugly. The opening comment you quote about 'dehumanizing and demonizing' them is appalling. The wrinkling of the nose over her child shows the arrogant superiority complex of the latte-sipping Left. Would they wrinkle their nose at any of their cause celebres?
Sarah Palin and McCain are going to need all the support and prayer they can get. These attackers scrape the bottom of what it means to be human, sadly. They are behaving like 'dehumans' and 'demons' themselves.

Works for me. I personaly don't care if they change, I just want them gone. I don't think we should be fighting for change, the fight should be to get people to stop watching them. I will do what I can with the few people I reach.

The media thinks that they should run this country and we ignorant rubes should march to their tune. If we were smart enough to think for ourselves we would have gone to journalism school.

good comments all.

Shoprat, some of us have become journalists, who knew we had it IN us, right? So many GREAT blogs.....but too many LIBERALS!!

If anybody, by the way, has a decent liberal blog address...something like ours without the KOS, MOveon.org vitriol, I'd love to read it. just for curiosity.

WE HAVE TO GET THE NEWS OUT OF A DISHONEST MEDIA.

Did anybody see the Slam on CNN last night of Palin and McCain? They're SUPPOSEDLY covering Obama's LIES tonight to be FAIR..that'll be a laugh! Maybe it'll be like how fair they were making Biden look like a hero and Palin look like a mother who deserted her children willingly. That was hilarious! It's so transparent I THINK even lefties are seeing the idiocy.

Chuck..we can only hope.

Keep getting the news out there...that's why I blogged this story.

Thanks..

"Bush Derangement Syndrome" is now "Palin Derangement Syndrome" is the title of one of my posts that was plagiarized, Z. And it's true! That's exactly what the left has got. Of course they've always been deranged - we know that! LOL!

So the reporters were turning their snobby noses up at that loveable child spit-combing her baby brother's hair. Evil is what they are... just plain evil. They are the ones who are disgusting!

The left is imploding over a beautiful and conservative woman in a skirt, a blazer, and glasses. You would think she was the devil incarnate from the way they've been carrying on. They had better be careful, because that sort of anger can actual harm the person who is angry. They'll start coming down with all sorts of colds, allergies and worse if they don't knock it off. Not that I feel sorry for them, mind you!

I saw it yesterday, ElBro ... the publisher appeared on Fox and apologized and said the photographer would never work for them again. Apparently she has a record for anti-right hate propaganda.

I guess our society can never have enough Rosie O'Donnells ...

Everyone..that freelance photographer is the one who gave children candy and yanked it away to make them cry so she could snap unhappy children...about 3 yrs ago. Remember that?

This woman is DESPICABLE.

great piece there z... i think as conservative we face a political enemy in the left who believes that conservatism is the root of all evil. and they believe that there is no boundry for them in trying to root this evil out. therefore they HAVE lost there souls. i thought the fight against terrorism was tough. fighting the left who has this mindset is going to be just as difficult. but i think conservatives this election are up for the fight!!!

Nasty.
I guess when you have no moral / spiritual accountability, it's easy to see people as sub-human. It becomes easy to hurt others for one's own gain.

That's just my guess.

I'm just thinking that if I were a young, peace-loving college student, looking for political inspiration right now...the Dems would inspire me to vote Republican.

Pinky...sublime. You are SO right.

Pat...THANKS! I completely couldn't remember the idea I had to blog on and BAMMO! This reminded me of it. Got some writing to do!

WE HAVE A WINNER FOLKS.

Shoprat gets the big kewpie doll. Send it in care of AIG and Lehman Bros.

Morgan Stanley pushed Washington Mutual out of first place today as the next one who didn't acknowledge reality.

Haven't you folks figured it out?

Sarah will no longer be a media event. Trashing her has been left to SNL and Tina Fey.

We all get back to stapling the current economic fiasco to the Republicans.

Z said...

The Lehman Brothers collapse is traced back to Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac and Freddie and Fannie used huge lobbying budgets and political contributions to keep regulators off their backs.

A group called the Center for Responsive Politics keeps track of which politicians get Fannie and Freddie political contributions. The top three U.S. senators getting big Fannie and Freddie political bucks were Democrats and No. 2 is Sen. Barack Obama.

He's only been in the Senate 3 1/2 years, but he still managed to grab the No. 2 spot ahead of John Kerry — decades in the Senate — and Chris Dodd, who is chairman of the Senate Banking Committee.

Fannie and Freddie were creations of the congressional Democrats and the Clinton White House, designed to make mortgages available to more people and, as it turns out, some people who couldn't afford them. Voila, the problem.

Fannie and Freddie have also been places for big Washington Democrats to go to work in the semi-private sector and pocket millions. The Clinton administration's White House Budget Director Franklin Raines ran Fannie and collected $50 million. Jamie Gorelick — Clinton Justice Department official — worked for Fannie and took home $26 million. Big Democrat Jim Johnson, recently on Obama's VP search committee, has hauled in millions from his Fannie Mae CEO job.

Um. Raines is Obama's economic advisor. SURPRISE!!

Obama's ads and stump speeches attack McCain and Republican policies for the current financial turmoil. It is demonstrably not Republican policy and worse, it appears the man attacking McCain — Sen. Obama — was at the head of the line when the piggies lined up at the Fannie and Freddie trough for campaign bucks.

Sen. Barack Obama: No. 2 on the Fannie/Freddie list of favored politicians after just almost four short years in the Senate.

Next time you see that ad, you might notice he fails to mention that part of the Fannie and Freddie problem.

Good, Ducky...READ, educate yourself. Take the rose colored glasses off.
