That's YOU on the left.....

What person in the news is the bird on the right?   Politician...newsreader....celebrity..........you name it!

For me? Shep Smith. Hands down.
The rest of the possibilities are too numerous to put in a comment :-)

Ducky's here said...

Rush the Vulgar Pigboy, without a doubt.

On a more esoteric level in the film world, Quentin Tarantino.

Z said...

Oh, but Ducky...without Rush we'd have gone socialist 20 years ago.
Oh,...I see why you would say that now.
DO NOT use the nasty terms again, they're stupid and I don't want them here and you know it.
When you start your own blog, be as nasty as any of the lib blogs, but not here. Thanks.

I'm not one for the underfoot supression of free speech, but that'd be me silencing the muppet Miss Piggy, er, Nancy Grace.

Beamish, I'm not for shutting people up, I just thought it was cute (except for Shep Smith, HIM,I'd love to shut up)

I pasted this email into a comment I wanted you to see on the 3/5 post I did about five posts down and you probably haven't seen it. I love this so much I wanted you to see it: Here's my comment from that post:

"Beamish: From an email from a dear friend: "I read your blog about the 3/5's Compromise. You're right it's not about race, it's about economics and politics. But, my problem to begin with is ... why would ANYONE take the time to listen to Al Sharpton???? That's the part that insults me as a black person. It insults me, not just that white people invite him on their shows as a representative of black people, but also that black people give this ridiculous race baiting CLOWN a voice as well! It sickens me, and I REFUSE to listen to him! But, it was good to take a look at history and do a little research on the 3/5s Compromise. I had forgotten all about it, which is just as well since it is even more moot than it was in 1865 ... LOL"

I love her. You would, too.

QUESTION:

What exactly is the case against Shep Smith?

There are so many others who seem far more obnoxious. Smith is rather boring, butwhy single him out like that?

Sorry. I don't get it.

The bird on the left is the so-called Fairness doctrine. The bird on the right is anyone who is not a card-carrying communist puke, like Ducky.

I thought Shep Smith was way, way out of his league trying to report live from the ground during the July War of 2006 between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon.

His spin on the politics involved were one-half Bizarro-world backwardeness and one-half sheer ignorance of history.

Since he pumped the Columbine school shootings to Hindenburg crash levels of over-emoted journalism (Oh the humanity!), I've always considered his appearances to be amateur hour.

Just a personal gripe, but he just seems to belong somewhere selling tickets to see a bearded lady or something.

This would be much more appropriate if they were Ducks.

Mustang, Obama is right of the Duck so you are talking about a lot of people.

I would say the bird on the right for me would be Joy Behar. That witch makes my hair stand on end.

FrogBurger said...

Good one.

It's definitely the new fascist left like Ducky. Except Ducky couldn't shut one up since a duck foot wouldn't be able to do that. All a duck can do is "chier" all over the place and kwak! Or end up in my stomach as foie gras and confit.

Z,

Start your own blog? Are you kidding? First, it's too much like genuine work. Second, why, since it's so much easier to just come to yours & spew out stuff, & third, Air America, 'nuff said.

What exactly is the case against Shep Smith?

Yes, I think he's a decent, nice guy who seems intellectually honest.

If MSNBC had people like him, the wouldn't be in the tank.

I still wouldn't watch b/c he's a bit dull to me but it's better than the kooks they have.

I agree about Shep Smith. He's in over his head. But for sheer loony tunes, I'd have to say Chris matthews.

Z, I love your email from a friend. She says it all, and sums it up nicely. Beamish's comment on that post was excellent.

Tequila, I have SUCH a thing against Shep SMith I can't tell you! He's SUCH a blowhard and I'm tired of hearing his opinions and I'm tired of his getting things wrong and looking into the camera as if WE'RE the dopes....ugh. I can't explain it.
Ya, there are TONS worse than he is but he was the first to come to my mind.
I have been watching a LOT of CNN since I finally can't even see Smith's face or hear his voice anymore. Actually, it's a good thing. CNN does have some fairly good coverage ...until they start with their 'fair and balanced' panels of ALL LIBERALS :-)!!

I heard MSNBC recently described as "The Left's Insane Asylum"...loved that!

A. Magus: That's the first time RUSH IS ON THE LEFT!

Mustang; BRAVO...so good.

Beamish, THANK YOU, I"m glad you see it, too. His handling of Katrina was torturous, too. Just TORTUROUS...ALL BUSH'S FAULT, NONE was Nagel's fault, Bush should have KNOWN, BUsh should have STOPPED the waters like Moses...dayum that creep.

Chuck: I"m with you on Behar, that is FOR SURE. You've got to watch two minutes of THE VIEW when they have a conservative on. She absolutely TWITCHES! Her fingers look like they're playing castanets with no castanets! I laugh and laugh...then I start to listen to the words and have to change it REAL QUICK.

David, well said!

Pris, that's from a friend I met thru FPM! She's marvelous.

Pris, if you think his comment on that post was excellent, check out his blog on the SOTU speech..it's long but FABULOUS!

Has Sarah come out and suggested an invasion of Egypt yet?

Order is breaking down further and looks like the army either fires on the crowd or there will be a military coup.

The Likud government must be soiling its pants.

Z said...

Did you all hear Sen Kerry last night weighing in to the world on CNN that Mubarek has to resign? Unreal....just after Obama's speech where he didn't mention that at all, even sounded in favor of the regime.
WHat the.......?

Z said...

Ducky, Palin? Why? WHo's invading Egypt?

Ya, Israel should be very nervous; how many times have these Arab freaks signed peace docs and started the trouble again? It's a terrible situation for Israel....no doubt about it. And so unfair.

Z said...

By Dick Morris, who gets it right...especially about elBaradei...my GOD, that man has been a loser since we heard his name for the first time..what a disaster:

In the 1950s, the accusation "who lost China" resonated throughout American politics and led to the defeat of the Democratic Party in the presidential elections of 1952. Unless President Obama reverses field and strongly opposes letting the Muslim brotherhood take over Egypt, he will be hit with the modern equivalent of the 1952 question: Who Lost Egypt?

The Iranian government is waiting for Egypt to fall into its lap. The Muslim Brotherhood, dominated by Iranian Islamic fundamentalism, will doubtless emerge as the winner should the government of Egypt fall. The Obama Administration, in failing to throw its weight against an Islamic takeover, is guilty of the same mistake that led President Carter to fail to support the Shah, opening the door for the Ayatollah Khomeini to take over Iran.

The United States has enormous leverage in Egypt - far more than it had in Iran. We provide Egypt with upwards of $2 billion a year in foreign aid under the provisos of the Camp David Accords orchestrated by Carter. The Egyptian military, in particular, receives $1.3 billion of this money. The United States, as the pay master, needs to send a signal to the military that it will be supportive of its efforts to keep Egypt out of the hands of the Islamic fundamentalists. Instead, Obama has put our military aid to Egypt "under review" to pressure Mubarak to mute his response to the demonstrators and has given top priority to "preventing the loss of human life."

Z said...

THE SECOND HALF:

President Obama should say that Egypt has always been a friend of the United States. He should point out that it was the first Arab country to make peace with Israel. He should recall that President Sadat, who signed the peace accords, paid for doing so with his life and that President Mubarak has carried on in his footsteps. He should condemn the efforts of the Muslim Brotherhood extremists to take over the country and indicate that America stands by her longtime ally. He should address the need for reform and urge Mubarak to enact needed changes. But his emphasis should be on standing with our ally.

The return of Nobel laureate Dr. Mohamed ElBaradei, the former head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has to Egypt as the presumptive heir to Mubarak tells us where this revolution is headed. Carolyn Glick, a columnist for the Jerusalem Post, explains how dangerous ElBaradei is. "As IAEA head," she writes, "Elbaradei shielded Iran's nuclear weapons program from the Security Council. He [has] continued to lobby against significant UN Security Council sanctions or other actions against Iran...Last week, he dismissed the threat of a nuclear armed Iran [saying] 'there is a lot of hype in this debate'."

As for the Muslim Brotherhood, Glick notes that "it forms the largest and best organized opposition to the Mubarak regime and [is] the progenitor of Hamas and al Qaidi. It seeks Egypt's transformation into an Islamic regime that will stand at the forefront of the global jihad."

Now is the time for Republicans and conservatives to start asking the question: Who is losing Egypt? We need to debunk the starry eyed idealistic yearning for reform and the fantasy that a liberal democracy will come from these demonstrations. It won't. Iranian domination will.

Egypt, with 80 million people, is the largest country in the Middle East or North Africa. Combined with Iran's 75 million (the second largest) they have 155 million people. By contrast the entire rest of the region -- Algeria, Morocco, Libya, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Syria, Tunisia, Jordan, UAE, Lebanon, Kuwait, Oman, and Qatar combined-- have only 200 million.

We must not let the two most populous and powerful nations in the region fall under the sway of Muslim extremism, the one through the weakness of Jimmy Carter and the other through the weakness of Barack Obama.

FrogBurger said...

Did you all hear Sen Kerry last night weighing in to the world on CNN that Mubarek has to resign?

Well Kerry is not the brightest.

The French on their side are not taking any side.

People must decide. Even if it gets bloody.

But we're seeing an uprise of people across the planet, most of it related to poor economic conditions generated by corrupt governments. Ben Ali was corrupt like you couldn't believe. And I was reading today that people are starting to realize the level of corruption in European countries.

You never know but if the debt of Western countries cannot be resolved and things tank badly, we could see some serious revolution.

The French revolution started b/c of the increase of the price of bread while the King was having the good life.

This always come back to that.

FB, we should keep OUR mouths shut, too....but I hear CNN news readers saying the Egyptians WANT to hear from us. That is SUCH a joke! We send gazillions of money there and they hate us and they suddenly want to know what WE THINK?
Maybe they think we'll actually help them even tho we dropped all those Iranian dissidents in the mud when they so desperately needed us.
Good for the French...they have nothing to do with this and are showing class by dummying up.

It's a tough spot for Obama, I know that....it's a very complicated situation, but I'd sure like to know what he told Mubarek for 30 minutes in that phone conversation. He says he suppoorts the Egyptian government when Gibbs had already said Mubarek should go and then Sen Kerry further complicates things with his unfortunate gaffe.

Where's Biden? Maybe he can get the whole Middle East to explode?

I think Biden is worried about the pyramids :)

My mother was not born there but was raised in Cairo and summered in Alexandria and knows Suez quite well, too......she hasn't been there in YEARS but even tho she is not an Arab and has no real allegiance to Egypt, she is sad to see the riots and the damage, etc.
Of course, according to one sister who HAS been to Cairo, not much could be done to make Cairo look more awful than it normally does :-)

My mother used to horseback ride around the pyramids, imagine?

I'm telling too much now, but once she was in a sailboat on the Nile with male cousins and Farouk was coming down the other way and they had to push her downstairs real fast because Farouk would just point at a beautiful girl and "GET HER" ifyouknowwhatimeanandithinkyoudo. Mom was a beauty and they had a heck of a time protecting her!

Z, that's an excellent commentary by Morris. And an excellent point that you make. He put no pressure on the Iranian govt. at all. His answer was silence to the people of Iran. Why is that? What about the human rights violations in Iran?

Interesting, isn't it? Liberals or leftists like Carter, Kerry, and Obama always lean on allies, and are soft on enemies. Why is that? Because they can, or because they're weak.

I opt for the latter, and in so doing chaos will surely prevail. Obama has been the epitome of weakness and the world knows it.

Including Iran. It's an invitation to the Islamists to do what they will. They have nothing to fear and they know it.

As near impossible as it is to contact my sister in Cairo, with the internet shutdown there it became totally impossible.

I hope she's not caught up in that crap over there on either side, but I'm afraid my other hand's filling with crap faster.

Anonymous said...

Beamish, your sister's in Cairo?

I pray she's alright. You must be beside yourself with worry.
Surely she's staying inside and not joining that crowd in the streets.

We don't see many women out there. Besides, the cameras are focused on the crowd, and make it look like it's everywhere.

Pris,

Yes, my sister converted to Islam, moved to Egypt, and married an Arab man there in Cairo some three years ago. I've not had much contact with her at all (we don't communicate often, if at all, unfortunately). Politically and theologically, she's basically my polar opposite so there's no telling what kind of trouble she's involved in or can't get out of over there :( Hopefully she's not my defiant-to-the-hilt little sister and is keeping her mouth shut, LOL.

Last I heard, she had a job teaching Egyptian elementary schoolchildren English. I had heard she was going to come back to the US around a month ago, but I'm guessing that plan is now dashed.

I hope to hear something from her soon. :(

Besides, the cameras are focused on the crowd, and make it look like it's everywhere.

That's somewhat reassuring, in that the TV only gives a coffee straw view of the world, and only 24 or so deaths reported in a nation of 80 million slims the odds that she's in toruble quite a bit.

I don't know her Arab family's view of Mubarak, or of the "Muslim Brotherhood" so I don't know if hearing or not hearing from her is a good thing in the political sense, but on the "hey that's my little sister" front I'm going nuckin' futs.

Beamish, I'm hearing all this stuff about EGyptians saying "Come out of the churches and mosques and join the protest" and Coptic Christians are supposedly joining the ranks in the streets.
I suppose we can TRY to believe this is not an islamist thing, but what'll it take to prove it to us?
Egyptian Christians aren't stupid or naive, they know the lay of that land better than we, and the mind-set, so maybe their coming out from hiding is indicative that it's more about economy and freedom than RADICAL ISLAM?
I hope so. ???
